We visited twice during our stay, walked here both days from Looe with our two GSP’s. We sat both inside and on the little patio at the front of the tearoom. The strawberry and white chocolate scone is delicious. Large pots of Cornish tea to wash them down. The lady serving was quiet on our first visit, but chattier when we returned.

What a lovely find. We visited for a Cornish cream tea, having read reviews of the best places to go in the area. We were not disappointed! Between four of us we had two strawberry and white chocolate scones and two apple and cinnamon scones, with two milkshakes, pot of tea and iced coffee. The scones were delicious, perfect texture and warm and drinks good too. The staff were lovely and friendly and if we visit the area again, would definitely revisit and recommend friends and family visit. Thank you so much!

The most delicious cream tea! Scone was warm, so light and fluffy but still buttery. Hot chocolates were also a real treat. Some really creative flavours of scone on the menu, and an option for vegan friends. Also scones available to take away. Would definitely return!

Tempted by the goats cheese, rosemary & honey scones advertised and served as a ‘Chèvre Tea’ for £6.75. Firstly, it was only one small scone (most places do 2), it was a plain sweet scone with a 1x2cm piece of goats cheese on top and served with onion chutney, not the apple as advertised. Server really not bothered at all. Not good value or a good experience, sadly.

I’d read good reviews of this place and when we passed on our way out of Polperro we saw the sign saying apple scones and blueberry scones, which sounded delicious, so ordered one of each to take away. When I went to eat my apple scone, the first thing I saw was a short hair, looked like a cat or dog hair, on top of the scone. I scraped that part off but decided to eat the rest. Then, right in the middle of the scone, I pulled out a darker, longer hair. I really struggled to eat any more. It’s a shame because the flavour was nice and they could have been delicious, but the hair was just too off putting.

Louise the owner makes an amazing variety of scones . They are made on the premises and are usually still warm and fresh out of the oven . It’s somdelicious and we keep going back . Then we have to compensate by getting a good walk in afterwards .

Set low expectations and be prepared for some over pricing. The sad scone (only served 1 here!) was more of a Welsh Scone and it was served cold. Pot of tea with espresso sized cups and sauces. Sadly the toilet was a health hazard with rusty bins and nothing to dry ones hands with. Devon cream teas seem to be winning on our CreamTea experiences.

We were looking for tea and scones at about 2.55 in Polperro. We headed hopefully to the Bean and Scone, having made a special trip. There was no indoor seating on a wet day, and only two small tables outside on a very busy street. We decided to keep looking. We came back about 1/2 hour later only to find they’d completely sold out of scones and cakes. We were astonished. What happened to tea at 4pm? We never got to try what looked like very good scones. The lady behind the counter was the friendliest lady we met in Polperro.

Early morning, before the holiday rush, in need of a coffee and something tasty after a long drive you wend your way down the main drag into Polperro, and come across the bright blue, bold signs for Bean and Scone, a tea room with a twist. Offering both inside and outside seating, you have choice of watching the world go by on the side of the busy street, or sitting in the cool interior admiring the artwork and photography of the locals. As the only customers, the owner (presumed) was more than happy to talk to us about life in Polperro; about the tourist season, the bleakness of the winter, and how the community came together to get through COVID. Definitely a lovely place to stop, before getting into the busyness of the harbour, where there are queues for every place

We also had a miserable expereince here with the lady seeming to be put out by serving us. We ordered 3 tuna, spring onion and mozzarella paninis and one half cream tea (one scone not two - that will be important later!). The three cold drinks and pot of tea came quickly but after over 5 mins still no sign of the scone so i asked if I could have this so I could eat it with my tea, before it became stewed/cold, just asked nicely, that's all. I got a curt reply that she had 'other drinks' to prepare as she peeled a spring onion for our paninis!.. In all honesty we were very taken aback by the abrupt reaction for such a simple request. Who doesn't want their cream tea altogether, isn't that the point and why serve it that way in the first place, never encountered it before as it usually comes out all together. When the said scone finally appeared, if you can call it that, it was the slimmest of scones id ever seen and could barely be cut in half and was very underdone, crumbly and not the best taste wise... the jam was pink jelly, cheap as and tasteless, no evidence of fruit or seed! as my husband said 'that's never seen a strawberry'!. My fresh tea arrived as a half filled pot, I didn't dare ask for more water..! When I asked for some butter please, for the scone, again you would think I had committed a crime. I said 'is there a problem I would just like some butter please'. the reply 'oh I thought you asked for a half cream tea (one scone) you don't get butter with a half cream tea, only a full cream tea (2 scones)' .. Speechless, whats the difference, a scone is a scone whether you have two or one it needs butter in my opinion and what does it matter anyway, surely it the customer requests something to accompany a snack, and not an unreasonable request at that, then surely it should be given even if there is a small additional cost.. never heard anything so stupid.. ! and why be so surly...Paninis were pleasent enough (after the bread had been defrosted) but described as 'with mozzarella and spring onion' obviously the one onion being peeled earlier.. No onion at all in one, very sparse in the others and appeared to be grated cheese..better places in our opinion after the worst cream tea I have ever had, and I have had plenty but the service stuck out for all the wrong reasons and was by far the biggest issue..it wasn't even busy. The guy who seemed to have been called in as the lady had more than 4 customers to serve (she appeared to phone him) couldn't have been more different and seemed embarassed on her behalf, very friendly chap and sorted the butter after overhearing the conversation and them checked all was ok after we'd eaten! not sure why some people run such places if people are not your thing, its about people and customer service and I just politely requested two things, neither unreasonable surely. Our money was happily taken when we paid you though! some places rely on the passing tourist and dont need to bother for repeat custom I suppose and I would say this is the case here from our poor experience, our firsts poor experience as such in Cornwall, luckily... all other shop keepers and café owners have been beyond friendly and have valued our custom...keep walking, we found some lovely places further into the village with a better view than the road.

As I waited outside for my partner to assist our daughter, I was called to take a seat by a male waiter. As I was explaining that I was just waiting for my family to finish up, I was aggressively cut off mid sentence by the same male who said "so you were just going to come in here, use the toilet and then leave were you". This all happened in front of other customers. I explained that our intention was to order the takeaway cream tea, but that I had to wait for my partner to come out of the toilet with my purse. We had coffee and a beautiful lemon cake at this cafe. Service friendly and cake homemade. Also you can take the dog inside which is great.

We had a superb cream tea in this small tea room. Homemade scones were delicious. We went for the classic cream tea however there were also scones with cream cheese and chilli jam looked lovely,if you wanted something savoury. Really worth visiting.

Stopped by for scones and toasted tea cake and we love this tiny tea room. It might look not special but have a bite of their scones and you will love this cafe.

We called in on a very wet day in Polperro. We went in looking like drowned rats, but we received the warmest welcome ever. The man who was serving was very helpful and smiling. The scones are amazing with a choice of fruit or plain. Jam was plentiful as was the cream. We debated if it's jam first or cream. We said we prefer the jam first, as its like glue to stick the cream to the scone. Tea was strong and much needed on a chilly wet day. Kids had chocolate milkshakes that had ice cream in and they didn't leave any at all. The bagel with cream cheese is great too. Cant recommend enough, will return in 2019 and hopefully it wont be rainy and stormy like on this visit

We popped in for a sneaky cream tea and was impressed by the quick service. The scones were lovely and I was particularly happy to see a savoury option being a diabetic myself. The gentleman running the place was friendly and happy.

During a week's stay in Polperro, we visited Bean and Scone twice... the first time for the Cornish Cream Tea, which was absolutely delicious. We have tried several different places but this was by far and away the winner.

We hadn't booked anywhere on our first night, what a little gem this place was! Very unassuming, very hospitable, accommodating and delicious! Pizza was amazing, as was the salad. No complaints, would recommend 😊

Fabulous cream teas, lovely location and dog friendly. Service was brilliant, very friendly and efficient. Best cream tea we had in Polperro and also had a take out one as well which was a very reasonable price. Have been here before and would definitely return!

We were in Polperro and popped into The Bean & Scone for an afternoon treat. Scone with Cream & Jam - the Correct way to eat it - plus a slice of Coffee Cake with Drinks of Lemonade & Cappuccino. Freshly prepared and very nice.

Visited last week, with my wife and 7 year old. Wanted a traditional Cornish Cream Tea and we weren’t disappointed. Great Service too!! The only thing stopping a 5 star rating, was the fact that I was too late for the Savoury Tea. All sold out!! That’s popularity for ya!! Nice also to sit outside and watch the world go by.

We popped in to Bean & Scone for a late afternoon tea, in fact they were just closing when we arrived but they very kindly stayed open for us. The helpfulness of the owner went above and beyond our expectations.

Have to recommend the cream teas here - choice of plain or fruit scones (which are a nice size) with more than enough cream and jam - they were really good. Nice location as well sitting out in the sun, watching the world pass by. Very friendly service, not rushed in any way, if you want a good cream tea - then I can recommend the Bean & Scone!

Heading back to our holiday home we came across the bean and scone and decided to take a couple of freshly made pizzas back. The lovely lady was very friendly and kept open longer to take our orders as we arrived just as they were closing. The place is clean and tidy and the pizzas were great!!

Absolutely wonderful visit. The cream tea was the best I think I’ve ever had. Warm scones, huge pot of cream and delicious jam, must be homemade. The tea was piping hot and came with an additional tea bag should you like it strong.

Great place to stop off on our walk. Cakes, drinks and ice cream all good, and with the bonus of sparrows waiting to hop onto your hand.

Absolutely amazing day spent at The Sharksfin for our daughter's wedding last Saturday. Wow! What a venue! From start to finish everything was wonderful. Great service with happy staff who were enjoying looking after us and wanted to make the day special. The canapes were gorgeous and main meal truly excellent. The Chefs worked their socks off. Would highly recommend. Thank you to Lisa and her whole team. You were fantastic! We will be back for a roast very soon 🙂!

Poor service and virtually no vegan/vegetarian options. Asked for a veggie burger which was on the menu, they didn't have any. Asked what else was vegan, they didn't know. Service was very slow and all front of house seemed uninterested and more keen to huddle round the bar chatting. One waitress was particularly rude, I wouldn't go there again and wouldn't recommend. Lots of much friendlier places in Falmouth.
