We are just so pleased that my wife's lost purse was handed in and the team at Beach House kept it safe and waited for it to be claimed. Good Karma goes a long way. Eternally grateful that my wife was reunited with a purse that has huge sentimental value.

Do not go to this rip off of a place! £13 for a chicken burger!!!? They didn’t add my order on, so my whole family ate their lunch whilst I was waiting for mine! It’s far too loud in there, they can’t hear what you are ordering and you can’t hear them! Need to turn the music down! It’s supposed to be a restaurant, not a bar or a pub!! My mum asked for plain mayo in her chicken burger as it comes with spicy mayo and they literally done one tiny chicken breast between two rubbish buns and a bit of mayo! She went back and asked for some lettuce and cucumber and got the tiniest bit of cucumber and not even half a leaf of lettuce! Absolutely outrageous, and they were very rude as well. Rude when we asked if they could please get us some more mayo! Everything seem to be too much effort for them. They need to learn some People skills and certainly lower their prices! How they can charge what they do when it doesn’t even include any sides is beyond me. And the food isn’t even that nice how much is!!!! I would avoid this place if you can! Difficult when it’s the only one there, but maybe take your own food or eat near the main car park at hengistbury head!

We visited a few times before when it was a restaurant. Now the same site is a few food/drink outlets offering a good selection of more casual snack style food - pizza, hotdogs, fish tacos, etc. The food selection was good, the prices ok, but the quality is sadly just not there. The music was so loud and inappropriate in style for the setting, we could barely talk to each other. More relaxed beach style music at a lower volume would have instantly changed the vibe. The seating area looked a bit tatty (tables not wiped) and the birds very annoying although appreciate limited options to solve the issue of the birds. One of our party had a lobster roll (£18) and the roll was burnt. Other than that the food was ok. They have the location and customers on tap. As mentioned, food offerings were fairly good. Just attention to detail. It wouldn’t take much at all to get a really good atmosphere - with a bit more care as to appreciating the whole customer experience.

Absolutely disgusting food offering! We came here a few years ago when the place was run as a restaurant offering a tasty seafood menu. Our fault for not checking but our visit today was extremely disappointing! The food offering was abysmal and the ‘cafe’ is a shadow of its former ‘restaurant’ self. We ordered two paninis as we were hungry; they were served far too hot and were extremely greasy. We ate a little and left the rest. On the hottest day of the year so far, customers were clamouring for shaded seating yet the sails were retracted exposing the majority of tables to full sun. Avoid at all costs !!

Visited on Nov 5th afternoon and was very disappointed with the quality of the food being served at the Beach Grill. We ordered a couple of toasted ciabattas. a hot dog and three portions of chips. The chips were ok but the hot dog was cold, the roll was breaking up and most of the hot dog topping had been scattered across the serving counter when the "chef" placed the food for collection. My toasted cheese and ham ciabatta had not been toasted on the top but the bottom had been toasted/reheated many times and was as hard as rock. You really did risk dental damage in trying the eat it, Just how difficult is it to toast a ciabatta?? I wasn't expecting cordon bleu quality food but this was just unacceptable and smacked of arrogance and a "couldn't care less attitude" in exploiting the captive audience. When i took the ciabatta back to the serving counter the young lad just didn't know what to say or do and looked towards the guy doing the cooking (mistakenly referred to earlier as the chef!) who scowled and ignored me. It was interesting to note that there were two menus on display and one boasted roast dinners. I hate to think what damage could have been done to meat and vegetables when toasting a ciabatta was clearly beyond the cooks capabilities. A lovely location and when I next visit I will take my own sandwiches

I love the Beach Hut and have been coming here for a number of years - well before it’s current incarnation. We ordered two chicken souvlaki and an aspen chips (Parmesan and truffle oil). Total cost £28. We also bought two pints of beer - £12. £40 all in all. Remember this is a take away not a restaurant. The chips were undercooked. The chicken was reheated not cooked fresh. The flatbread with the chicken was rubbery. The salad was good (it was out of a bag) Quantities were good but I’d prefer quality. However, it’s the only food outlet so bring your own or suck up the cost and lack of quality.

Avoid this place unless you like getting completely ripped off! Bought an overpriced Bacon bap for £6.50 which consisted of terrible bacon and the cheapest bap in a cardboard container. So the only reason why I’ve given them two was that it was half term and sunny, so you can imagine how the general public tend to be however… Food wasn’t great, service/staff were awful (so rude; we spent £65 on lunch to take away, we asked for one extra take away pot for some condiments and were abruptly told no (one word answer. No)) No customer service, no real attempt at making your lunch enjoyable. Food just kinda thrown at you when your buzzer goes. Not a single thank you from any of the staff. And half the menu wasn’t available. I’d guess though that they don’t have to care, considering the money being spent at it yesterday lunchtime. Take something with you, save your monies and take it to somewhere more appreciative of your custom.

We stopped here today for coffee and really wish we hadn't bothered. My husband waited over 15 minutes to place his order and get the coffees whilst I went and found a seat. This in itself was a challenge as the indoor seating area had gaps in the canopy covering which were small enough to allow little birds through so there was bird poo everywhere. The coffees were overpriced and very milky as if they were cutting back on the amount of coffee used. They were certainly not a typical cappuccino. Food was very overpriced considering it is served out of takeaway containers and I think the owners are capitalising on the fact there is no where else nearby to get a drink or food. Such a shame, in such a beautiful place.

Beautiful sunny autumn day. When out walking at Mudeford Quay decided to take the boat to Mudeford Spit for a coffee & snack. The fire happened in 2018 & it is still being run out of shipping style containers with a few tables scattered around. Have been a few times over the last years, and decided a review was overdue. It’s okay & food is basic but acceptable considering nothing much has been done since they reopened on this basis. They could do so much more. If the owners read reviews I’m going to respectfully suggest they take a look at what SoBo Beach have achieved in a few short months. They have the location & the space at The Beach House. So much more could be done with it & I don’t mean a million £ makeover!!

Two sandwiches described as "Crab & Lettuce" and two cans of drink £15. The sandwiches contained 0% crab meat. Not one bit of crab meat. Instead the ingredients were "Crab Mayonaise" which if read carefully was Surimi: processed white fish with flavouring. The description of "flaked crab" was a further misdescription. It wasn't flaked it was processed goo. The raw material cost of that sandwich was less than 30p. Perhaps the worst sandwich I have ever tasted. Label photo as proof. The sad thing is, a few years ago the sandwiches were actually really good.

The girl who served me was very rude and abrupt whilst serving me and payed no eye contact and was having a conversation with her friend at the time. The minute I turned round, similarly to the gentleman ahead of me in the queue, they begin laughing and making rude comments. It’s a real shame because the food and drink is nice here. Love the view this place offers, great to be able to get a drink on the beach and the food sounds amazing! One of our fav places - have been about 4 times the past couple weeks alone. My only two thoughts (as other than these it’s really nice) are as follows: It’s been frustrating how slow the bar staff are, feel bad saying it - but I feel they’d improve the customer experience and make more profit if there was more speed, less chatting, particularly when there’s long queues building up & I’ve seen people in the queue discussing amongst each other how slow it is wondering what the hold up is.Also - assume there is a reason for the takeaway lids having to go on the beers? - but if not then think it’s better without, as not necessary - means hand contact going on the lid where your then drinking from which doesn’t seem hygienic & noticed lots of them being left on the beach or going in the bin straight away.

Given the current circumstances we are more than happy to wait in turn, however as much as the staff need to eat, waiting twenty minutes and the staff get their chips first considering we actually paid £10 for two portions of chips and £21 for a shandy, on pint à coke and a lemonade I'm happy to pay premium prices given the unique location, however the problem is the attitude. That is INEXCUSABLE. The young man controlling the queue was very pleasant however the bar staff and food service was hardly with a smile actually it was with a mardy face especially when we asked to top up the lemonade that was half full. Being local we won't be coming back having been twice in two weeks, I won't tolerate people who are so far up their own backside to worry about a little customer service. I suggest whoever is in charge has a word with your staff, they should consider themselves lucky to work in such a lovely place. Of course you'll always be busy as there's not many options so the review won't make much difference.

Our first visit after the re-styling that followed the fire. Plus points are that in winter they now open daily. The food we tried was OK and not too expensive, though there’s a limited and very basic menu (soup, burgers, paninis, potatoes). The few staff are efficient, but for customers there’s plenty of work (we cleared and cleaned our own table for a start) and lots of queueing – to order food, to collect food, to separately order and collect drinks. Everything comes in disposable containers, but no re-cycling bins were in evidence. It’s a weird mix. On a sunny day the enclosed area overlooking Christchurch Harbour still approaches idyllic. The semi-open rear overlooks the bar, food counter and a motley collection of portacabins. It was very un-picturesque, and when we visited, full of wandering customers. This little place used to have pizzazz (and loos). Sadly, both have gone. Think Macdonalds without the frills.

We have been going to the Beach House restaurant for many years. I can’t say how disappointed we were this year. Will never go again. Such a shame. The restaurant suffered a major fire. What has emerged from the ashes can only be described as an average Gregg’s (at London prices) on the beach. I struggling to think about how they could make the experience any worse. Salads are boxed up and shipped over for the day so limp and tiny. Unfortunately profit margins now so obviously come ahead of quality. £25+ for a jug of Pimms and cheap plastic cups. Don’t go if weather is bad - they have no roof !!!. Avoid if you are Vegan or have a gluten allergy. If you love average small Pizza for £12-£15 each served in a cardboard box washed down with warm wine in a platstic cup for £25 and standing room only then this is the place for you.

Main cafe has burnt down so they are cashing in by providing a burger bar, pizza etc. Pizzas are basic and served in a takeaway cardboard box, and at £14 aren't good value. A bottle of beer will set you back £5, Pimm's and lemonade £6.

Get the beach bar abroad feel with bar pizza burger and ice cream stalls. Nothing fancy but nice relaxing and worth the walk

We walked from Christchurch via Tuckton Bridge to the Beach House restaurant looking forward to a nice relaxing meal, as we’d previously experienced at this restaurant. Upon arriving we learnt of the fire and saw that this site is now set up similar to a box bar arrangement, with three containers converted to a bar and two food areas with a central seating area. Very limited menu of Pannini’s for £6.50 or Pizzas for about £14.00 which are over priced for the quality. The bar was well stocked but there were no Ales or Bitters on tap only Largers or Cider. The second food container was still being constructed, but looked like it might be set up in the future to provide Paella. No waitress service any more and no lovely local seafood. A bit of a disappointment altogether really. But I hope this is just a temporary arrangement until they can rebuild, which looks to be scheduled for 2020.

Looks like they are going through a lot of changes here, and not really ready to be open, slow, still serving lots of plastic products and not really bothered by the environmentally issues even when we spoke to them, need to get into the new era guys .....

Their breakfasts are superb. Gale force graded depending on the amount you fancy. Service is quick and friendly. You can’t book, you queue up at the door but doesn’t take long to get a seat

School holidays and weekends the snack bar serves drinks and snacks, a very welcome warmer after a walk over the Head. The outer area is also open to sit in if the weather is not at its driest or warmest, or enjoy the great view on outside seating. Good range of hot and cold drinks and snacks and hot sausage and bacon rolls too.

After a brisk walk around Hengistbury Head we were pleased to see the café selling hot drinks from an outside mobile unit. Very pleasant lady served us. Coffee was good but sadly the Cornish Pasties were not. We also had a cheese and onion pasty which was very nice. Food and drinks limited due to café fire. Weather was exceptionally good for January and we were able to sit outside and enjoy the view.

Visited for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, I had pre-booked a table so we did not have to wait luckily as the queue was out of the door. The location is absolutely stunning, really beautiful walk to get there and I was very excited for our visit. I did feel a bit let down as the menu and prices reflect that of a good quality venue in beautiful location but I think in reality they are consistently busy due to the location and as such don't really maintain good levels for food and service quality.

The Beach House cafe is situated right on the front at Mudeford. It serves a variety of delicious food and drink throughout the day.The service is excellent and the food is of a high quality. A great place to watch the fishermen unloading their catch and a stone's throw from the regular ferry point.

We have eaten here a while ago and it was fine from memory, but inevitably it has got busier with time and todays visit in the unseasonably warm October sunshine meant there were no free tables, so we opted for a takeaway on the beach. I have to say that the cheese and ham toastie was completely devoid of any taste at all. Bad enough but two of them, a beer and a coke cost £18 ! Sorry but that is taking advantage.

In the past I’ve often avoided this place due to average service & food. BUT caught in the heavy rain today on my bike ride I sort shelter for a coffee and ended up noticing some very nice breakfasts coming out. My coffee was nice and the service much improved. Admittedly it wasn’t at all busy location is lovely so I will have to it ago in the future as opposed to carrying on by.

After a nice walk over one of the best views anywhere in the world I would say, over Hengistbury Head, what you need is a great place for a coffee, cake, lunch or even a glass of beer or wine with nice friendly attentive staff and this is it. Day or night this is a great place to go for half an hour to get ready for the walk back or to laze about for an hour or two and take in the amazing views. A must visit for anyone visiting the area for the first time or just us locals that have the pleasure of going there anytime we are lucky enough to have time to stroll over the Head.

We booked 30 Close friends for a chilled meal the day after our wedding. River taxi across Christchurch harbour was special and the Beach House set up a long table at the front for water views.

Wowwee what a lovely gem in a magnificent spot, have been coming to Mudeford for over 30 years but have no idea why we have never tried this gorgeous restaurant. We were seated outside and was just beyond perfect ( we arrived at 12 and was just starting to fill up but by the time we left the restaurant was quite full- tip** come early for great seats or book).. Menu is not extensive and only couple of things on specials board but we opted for Cod and chips and it was fantastic with the best Tartare sauce ever!! Prices are as you expect for an exclusive location and slightly high but well worth the treat.. Will be back!! Fabbo attentive staff too.

We went to The Four Horsemen as I had read they did a great Sunday lunch. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious and lots of it. The barmaid was very friendly and chatty. Will be definitely going back.

Have been going to this cafe for years. Was taken over and renamed db's. Significant improvements. Cafe has good standard of cleanliness. Good range of food products and drinks. Space for mobility scooters and walkers etc. Very good hardworking staff who are polite even with rude customers. Will bring drinks to tables and take further orders without having to request. Located in centre of sovereign centre close to major retailers. Has sister cafe 'the garden cafe located at the bus station entrance which does a wide range of cooked meals which can be enjoyed in an outside private space Happy to give a 10?* rating

Loovvee this store, staff know us well enough (especially my mum) to know our usual drinks order although mine changes a lot 🤪 The staff served quickly, have a chat and always POLITE, I don't think anyone has ever been distant or rude. Only thing I'd say is AlWAYS check babyccinno temperatures, there are a couple of staff who consistently make them with HOT and I mean like 160°f milk, I forgot to check once and it burnt my 2yr olds mouth 😞😞😞 I still feel awful and it was months ago, don't be afraid to go back up and ask for another one, they are always apologetic and rectify immediately. Always a pleasant experience. Toilets and furniture need a massive upgrade though

I was very disappointed with my visit to Cafe Obscura only just half a hour ago. When I asked if they had gluten-free options, I received a curt “no” without any further assistance or alternatives suggested. The staff member was reluctant to even check when I asked. The staff were generally rude and dismissive, which made the entire experience unpleasant. It’s clear that they don’t prioritise customer service or accommodate dietary needs. I won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this place, especially to those with food allergies or specific dietary requirements
