Caffe Nero - Bournemouth, Castlepoint in Bournemouth

Loovvee this store, staff know us well enough (especially my mum) to know our usual drinks order although mine changes a lot 🤪 The staff served quickly, have a chat and always POLITE, I don't think anyone has ever been distant or rude. Only thing I'd say is AlWAYS check babyccinno temperatures, there are a couple of staff who consistently make them with HOT and I mean like 160°f milk, I forgot to check once and it burnt my 2yr olds mouth 😞😞😞 I still feel awful and it was months ago, don't be afraid to go back up and ask for another one, they are always apologetic and rectify immediately. Always a pleasant experience. Toilets and furniture need a massive upgrade though

Very busy whenever I have been or with my partner. But always good service, the same standard of drinks and just a lovely cafe with a great selection of fresh food. I love coming here over other coffee shops.

Busy little Cafe Nero at The back of Waterstones book shop. Staff were pleasant enough & the queue moved fairly quickly. It is sometime since I've been to a Cafe Nero & I had forgotten how good their coffee is. Shared a Brie & Bacon Panini which was ok, nothing special. It was a busy lunchtime service, but would also say that the staff could do with keeping on top of the table tidying & cleaning up.

Review based on the portion sizes. Minuscule slices of cake at nearly £4.00 per slice! Shouldn’t be paying nearly 8 quid on two tiny, absolutely tiny slices of cake. Rip off

The worst customer service, particularly the larger 30’s woman who is so miserable and keeps gossiping about customers to her workmates. Not very hygienic with her hands. Throws stuff about and the constant clankering of crockery is a constant distraction. No staff seems to enjoy and it’s just a job. It shows.

We come to here regularly and always find the service good and the drinks reliably good. I like the cappuccino cake sometimes they forget to refill the soap dispenser.

Best coffee shop in Castle Point. Friendly staff and often busy. Some of the poor reviews on here are ridiculous. These guys work hard and are always cleaning.

One of the worst coffees I've had. Had a flat white that was sour and bitter with a long unpleasant finish. Given that the process is largely automated someone who knows what they're doing needs to set-up the grinder and temperature, pressures etc on the coffee machine. Agree with other comments about the cleanliness - trays weren't collected the whole time we were there.

I like Cafe Nero coffee and the staff are always helpful. Because it's at the back of Waterstones it's quite small and cramped.

A nice little place inside Waterstones. In these warm times a nice iced americano was welcomed. It can get quite busy at times.

I had to use the disabled toilet. TOILET SEAT what a joke.Wrong size seat fitted to toilet. Hand dryer not working. So used 3feet of toilet paper. Coffee and cake o.k. BUT not a good experience. Won't go back.

Always dirty when i go in, staff always rude, like you are asking for too much for them to do their job! Got snapped at by a girl working there for asking for it togo instead of stay as had urgent phone call from hospital from relative. Very hard to get around as a wheelchair on pushchair user. Staff member actually got in the way of my relatives wheelchair and refused to move! Not returning. Get better coffee in nearby places like Sainsbury's cafe or mcdonalds in asda.

Dropped in and had a pistachio iced latte and a white chocolate and strawberry cream frappe. Service quick, quite clean inside and plenty of tables. Could not taste the pistachio in the iced latte. Tasted more like iced coffee. No taste of white chocolate in the frappe. Won’t bother with these drinks again.

Terrible experience, staff making unpleasant comments, ordered iced frappe that’s what I got , too bitter to drink, went straight in the bin. Shame as not cheap!

What can I say that you don't already know about Café Nero, nice enough coffee, at the back of a book shop.

As coffee shop chains go, it was fine. Staff were lovely.

A very nice man wirh a slightly foreign accent took my order & was most helpful. Food was great & mocha's delicious. Especially mine topped with cream. Highly recommended.

Really nice service, but like kost places the coffee is very bitter and it is burnt (or scalded) ehich hightens the bitterness, but this is no different anywhere else

Quality coffee , cake good and efficient service but let down by shabby toilets with no toilet roll loose seat and hand dryer not working and generally poor cleaning.

Wouldnt go here again as there wasn't any protection against Covid at all.no staff were wearing masks. Our table was dirty so we had to clean it ourself. There were no toilet rolls in the toilets but a roll was left on a table outside presumably to share between 2 toilets. The staff were under pressure so I suppose they did their best under the circumstances. The coffee was quite nice but I hated the paper cups. Perhaps they had to use disposable ones because of the pandemic.

Good selection of food for a small outlet at the back of Waterstones. Super friendly staff. Only down side is that, due to covid, most tables are set up for 2 people so our family of 4 had to sit in two groups.

Service much better than Costa in Next. It's not the cleanest cafe though and tables weren't wiped before next customers.....not so good given the extreme circumstances we are all in.

Good service as always. Even though it was busy they didn't let their high standards of customer service slide. Very welcoming and a nice environment for a coffee after a bit of shopping 😉

Not bad, good food and coffee. I felt that recently it was a little over crowded, taking into account Covid safety measures and distancing. Staff could also practice more hygiene when serving. Nice, friendly baristas however!

Great choice of coffees and food. Only gave 3 stars as tables were full of dirty cups, plates etc and food on floor. Also, didn't like having to walk through a book shop to get to it.

Love Neros especially coffee and almond croissant. Staff giving excellent service although they need to clear tables more frequently.

Very untidy. No body clears away in this place. Half the tables are covered in used plates and cups. You should provide a rack for customers to return their crockery as they leave.

I met a friend for lunch and we decided to have soup. He said he didn’t have any bread to go with it though! (Couldn’t they have sent someone to Sainsbury’s or Asda?). He suggested that we could have a cheese twist with it so we got that. But then he charged us for the cheese twists! I thought we were getting them instead of the bread! I didn’t think that was good customer service! Both the tomato soup and the cheese twist were nice. I also had a decaf coffee which was also nice. It’s also very dark in there! And a lot of the tables needed clearing.

I came in on Saturday and ordered an iced cappuccino. What I received was a cold, unsweetened drink without ice. I don’t know how they expect the customer to 1. Sweeten their drink with raw sugar in a cold drink and 2. Why is it called iced when it contains no ice cubes? The drink was served in layers like a liquor coffee. The foam on it was about 1/3 of the drink and was slimy. I’ve never felt so repulsed by an iced coffee. In the end, when I asked, they did add ice and a shot of syrup which did nothing to sweeten it. I would not recommend.

Lovely coffee and food, friendly staff but the toilets are disgusting. Need a deep clean and to be checked throughout the day. One had no toilet paper, the other had no soap. Would probably go elsewhere next time because of this, which is a shame

The coffee is not good..I had a coffee before from caffe nero and i enjoyed , but this time i took a coffee me and my husband and it has a strange taste like it was burned ...both coffees burned ...

Hidden away from public within Waterstone's book shop. Been to area many times with realising of its existence. Coffee smell gave it away.

Nero is in the perfect position for shoppers & for anyone catching a bus or coach. It opens early to attract earlybirds & those wanting a quieter experience. It can be really busy on Saturdays & popular most days of the week round 11am. Staff really work well as a team.

I love this place. The staff are efficient, the coffee's good and it's big enough so I don't feel I have to vacate the table quickly.

Staff are very rude! A girl with dark brown hair, and braces was very snappy and moody with me. Wasn’t enthusiastic or happy at all and overall very disappointed with my very short visit.

discretely tucked away a the the back of the bookshop, a quieter place for a coffee and a sit down.Not a large choice of savoury snacks but nice looking cakes, but as there are only two or three coffee shops in Castlepoint , nothing is low priced here .Counter service and payment is good , tables are clean .

Great place to stop for a coffee when at castle point the now give lots of extra points if you take your own cup.

Not realy a fan of chain coffee shops but this one was inside Waterstones. Coffee was ok cake was dry.

Surprisingly quiet today but I guess the start of the car park repairs may be having an impact. My skinny decaf cappuccino served efficiently by smiling staff who didn't make me feel I was an interruption to their afternoon, as sometimes happens in other coffee shops I visit. All in all, a pleasant experience in the midst of my sales shopping.

Nero's is the only place of peace in a heaving plethora of shops and bargains etc. Wonderful staff good food and the best coffee but a country mile in the whole of Castlepoint. Brilliant love it

Nothing that my wife could eat. The only gluten free item had eggs which are another no-no. Ate elsewhere.

Very strong coffee. Not for those who don't like a strong brew although you can ask for a weaker version. Small and well-placed at the back of Waterstone's.

Although a fairly generic Nero visually, the staff make this place. I have been coming for many years with my disabled grandmother & they always make us feel welcome & throw in those extra special touches. Shame's theres no windows but it has become our sole reason to ever visit Castlepoint!

By the time I got my seat my espresso cream has just fade off; and tastes not better than any vinegar....I should stop giving them another chance...
