Bay Leaf in Mendip

Booked online (quite late on) and although I had a confirmation text and email that the booking had been made they didn't seem to have a record. They did fit us in. Service was quite slow and confused but this may have just been a one-off. I am not a regular so I wouldn't know but there seemed to be lots of regulars there which probably indicates it's usually not as slow. Didn't realise it was a soft drinks only place so take your own alcohol if you want it.

Food here is really good, however there is no co ordination between service staff. We ordered some popadoms, starters and mains. The popadoms and dips arrived and within seconds the starters arrived. Come on staff, let us atleast have 10 minutes enjoying the popadoms and dips befor bringing out the starters. The table next to us were asked by all 3 staff members if they wanted popadoms. Again no staff co-ordination. Having said that the food was hot tasty and of high quality hence the 4 stars. This restarant does not have a liquor licence so remember to bring your own.

WE had a really tasty meal. Everyone enjoyed their order. It was a varied selection of food. The service was good. We could not fault our evening out and will definitely go again

Just the most delicious food ! The Chicken Mirch is fantastic, but I asked if they could spice it up a bit, to “Madras Hot” - which they did. Result was a heavenly dish !!

Enjoyed a lovely meal for four to celebrate birthdays. Friendly and attentive service , it was quiet weekday evening. All meals were good, plentiful and served nicely. The restaurant doesn’t serve alcohol, but we nipped round to the corner shop and we’re able to bring in our own drinks.

Near the theatre and main high street this curry house is great… first time there after reading reviews and wasn’t disappointed. The food was great,,, rogan lamb and dansak ordered ,,, the popadoms were crispy and the dips were delicious,, service was was good without being overbearing,, price was reasonable too ,, small gripe was wouldn’t sit near the door as when people came through bit of a draft .. manager came out and said goodbye which was nice,, first time there and when we come back definitely will go again.

Ordered through just eat, I missed the rice of the order which came to over £20, called them up and wanted to add to my delivery which was expected 45 mins later, got told that would be an extra £15 for delivery plus the cost of the rice, live less than a mile away. He just told me there to busy.

Just excellent. Friendly staff -wonderful food -great atmosphere Very reasonable. Recommended We had a great time.Best in Malvern
