Bay Horse Inn Pub in East Lindsey

Stayed in one of Joy and Kev’s holiday cottages for 4 nights. Spotlessly clean and high quality bed, linens, towels and kitchen equipment. Beer in pub was well kept and the welcome was warm from all staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting area.

What a lovely pub! We popped in for a quick bite to eat; the weather was good, so we sat outside in the rear garden. All the staff were really friendly, the food was great. We had our dog with us, and he was very welcome! The holiday homes looked lovely from the outside, so we’ll be looking them up when we get home! Definitely worth a visit, we’ll be back!

The purpose built holiday cottages in the car park are well equipped with quality fittings. Immaculately clean and run by the pub landlord Kev and his partner Joy who were extremely helpful. Located between Cleethorpes and Mablethorpe the cottages offer access to both towns, including Louth and Grimsby within 40 minutes by car. North Somercotes has a couple of pubs, a couple of grocery stores, a chinese takeaway, an Italian restaurant and a fish & chip shop all within walking distance.

Stayed at the cottage at the Bay Horse, absolutely gorgeous, stunning. The staff in the Bay horse are friendly and welcoming. The food is also recommended. Definitely recommend this.

We had a fantastic weekend staying in one of the newly built cottages at the Bay Horse Inn, North Somercotes, Lincolnshire. We were a little late arriving so the proprietors ( Kevin and Joy) had put the lights and heating on for us, so the cottage was lovely and warm to walk into. They had also left a welcome hamper, and milk in the fridge. The cottage was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The cottages are situated behind the pub, with ample secure parking. The Bay Horse has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and serves great food at lunchtime. Thank you for a fabulous New Year Jane and Adrian

Only went for drinks (had eaten earlier) lovely clean warm place, staff and customers very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back to eat there as the food looked delicious. Very nice outdoor seating area which will be great in the summer.

The Bay Horse is slightly set back. We dropped in here for lunch. The pub appears newly renovated with older pieces. There were a few in on this Sunday lunchtime. The menu was very very limited. So much so that we actually didn’t eat here. The staff were friendly abd it was a nice atmosphere.

Lovely lunch. Panninis and Pizzas. Lovely food and drinks. Reasonable prices. Nice friendly helpful staff. Highley reccomend.

Popped in for a drink with my family. The new owners have literally redone the whole pub and gardens. Beautiful, clean Mediterranean style garden with quality tables and chairs. The landlady is joy by name and nature. You are made to feel welcome. Lovely ambience being generated throughout. So much to come as well when last of covid rules lifted and normality can start to resume.

Absolutely fantastic spot. The owners are super friendly and make you feel very welcome. It is like a home from home. So relaxing. We spent a nice few hours here. Will be back soon.

Lovely place. Very friendly hosts and totally spotless. A welcome break for throbbing feet. Excellent pint of Theakstons (followed by a Speckled Hen). Really impressed by the attitude to safety and provision of Sanitizer (yup, strange times indeed). Superb little beer garden at the rear. Really can't understand the previous review. Would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Understandably, things can be difficult with the current Covid 19 situation! However, making a paying customer feel welcome is probably a good idea if you would like them to revisit? Unfortunately the lady who now owns this place does her very best to make you feel like an inconvenience to her. If you would like to go for a nice evening and a few drinks, don't go here! Social skills not present with the current owner.

This pub is under new ownership and so there is quite a limited menu at the moment. However there was enough choice which was varied and very reasonably priced. Food was lovely. Was quite quiet but locals who were in there were very friendly.

Weeknight tea out for a change and fancied a burger so tried The Bay Horse ‘Burger Menu’. The choice is vast so there’s got to be a burger to suit everyone! Not for the faint hearted though as the portions are very generous. There are other meals available if you don’t fancy a burger but we all went for various burgers and none of us were disappointed!

Been here for food prior and wasn't good, liked the pub and people but now under new management so was not going to chance it but glad I did as it was a delicious great properly cooked burger, fresh home made chips sauce was amazing and I've never seen onion rings so big and not soggy.. All in all price and food quality I'll definitely re visit wish I'd took a photo..

Stopped here after visiting Donna Nook. Had a bacon Roll and chili and chips from the menu which was just what the doctor ordered. Friendly staff and seemed a popular pub.

Visited on Sunday for lunch and was not disappointed! Good selection of meats, we had the beef and it was delicious and tender. Nice selection of freshly prepared vegetables, all cooked to perfection. The staff were warm, friendly and very helpful.Will visit again and can highly recommend. Thank you.

Popped in with some friends for Sunday dinner. We were made to feel welcome by friendly staff. Food was fantastic and great value. We will definitely be coming again.

My husband and I were in a party of 5 adults with 5 children and one baby.The service was friendly and the food absolutely fantastic, childrens meals were plentiful, service couldn't be faulted ,atmosphere lovely and staff all child friendly and helpful, a great place for families to eat.

Visited on Wednesday 16th August '17 after hearing new management had taken over. Had meal with family, very warm welcome, excellent food. Will definitely be making a return visit.

La comida tarda un poco, pero bien vale la pena esperar. 2 de nosotros tuvimos tarta wow que era delicioso y abundante y comida fresca. No puedo esperar para el domingo voy a probar el asador.

Under new management, foods amazing would definitely recommend! Very kind staff! The managers have actually made the effort to clean the carpet and all sorts of other bits around the pub, definitely be visiting again

Sensación de hambre y amigos yo había oído la extremadamente bahía de caballos estaba bajo nueva dirección, así que decidimos probar la comida. de haberlo hecho fue excepcional. Aunque tuvimos que esperar fue recién preparada y caliente que tuvimos nuggets de pollo y carne de pollo y patatas fritas y tarta tarta de ale y tocino queso champiñón baguette todos eran exuberantes. Yo estoy en una silla de ruedas y había mucho espacio para maniobrar y yo estaba disponible para ayudar personal y sacaron una silla así que era capaz de sentarse en la mesa. Yo recomendaría un ambiente amistoso, la selección de menú y precios sin duda vamos a regresar e informar a mis amigos del pequeño tesoro que he encontrado. Espero que prestéis atención a fuerza x

Estábamos buscando comida casera mientras estábamos en nuestras vacaciones. Pedimos patatas fritas Tarta de carne y guisantes y macizos disfrutamos cada bocanada. Disfrutamos de la comida, así que decidimos tener nuestro almuerzo de domingo al día siguiente. 5 es mucho la mejor comida que he probado.

Hemos ido a América Somercotes en nuestro tourer en el parque de caravanas durante un número de años. Hemos siempre tenía ganas de tener una comida en la bahía de caballos en un par de ocasiones durante nuestra visita, el lugar en sí tiene desesperadamente...

Well Well Well yet again the Bay Horse Inn is under new management so I thought I along with the wife and friends would try it out for a spot of lunch. Well the new Manager was serving and he was very friendly indeed smartly dressed unlike the scruffy barman that was serving the last we visited under the last management the Pub was also very clean inside and out. The drinks were very reasonable as was the food. After reading the menu we ordered our meals the Wife and friends had the gammon and said it was really good not salty and was very easy to cut unlike some restaurants where it has been tough or very salty I went for the chilli and that also was excellent and very good value for money. The outside of the pub had also been cleaned up and there was no cigarette ends all over the place like it was when I visited last time. The service was excellent the beer was also kept well and the landlord could not do enough to help us. So all in all the Bay Horse Inn has really jumped up in my estimation and I will be going there again very soon as we all really enjoyed our visit and highly recommend the pub to everyone well worth a visit and well worth trying the food.

Four of us visited this pub whilst staying locally. We had a friendly welcome from the staff and were allowed to take our two dogs inside with us. One of us had the spaghetti and the rest of us chose the homemade burgers, which were very good. All meals came with homemade chips which were excellent!! We would certainly go back to eat here again if we are in this area.

The premises are in need of some refurbishment, the carvery is located behind the pool table next to the kitchen, the pool table was covered and was used to hold the sauces and cutlery etc.The Beef and Gammon was very tasty, and was not thinly cut, there was a choice of vegetable's which were fresh, not frozen.The meal was very reasonable priced, but some thought should be given to location of the tables, to make better use of the space available.

Being a steak fan we gave this place a try , the ad on Facebook said 20% discount for table bookings ... the barman/landlord came over to our table to inform us that certain steaks were sold out. Sadly the fillets were all gone which were both our choices. My wife decided on the sirloin and I had a ribeye . The steaks were of high quality and seemed much bigger than stated on the menu which was a bonus . We both requested medium rare but they came a tad over cooked . Because of the high quality meat this wasn't an issue . Decor is a bit dated , theres a reasonable choice of beer and a lovely fire burning in the hearth though beyond 15ft and the place felt quite chilly . The place was very quiet for a Saturday night so the food arrived fairly quick , considering how good the food was I was surprised the place was almost empty . Must be a well kept secret ... well worth a visit

Well was ok great beer and guiness daniel friendly bar maid friendly think there doing pretty well now. Would go again and try a big fat juicy stake lol

On entering the pub i was dissapointed straight away ,the place was very tired and extremly cold to the point i kept my overcoat on,i was with a group and in the end we decided to stay as it was 1 o,clock and we had booked it because of revues and pictures on trip advisor.They had one real ale on instead of the 5 they said they had and it was as cold as a pint of lager,not good.The meals ,well , i had a steak and to be honest,the meat was nice but it came with frozen chips (not homemade) along with tinned peas ,yes,tinned peas,the onion ,rings over cooked and before i got halfway through eating it,it was cold,this was partly because the plates should have been hotter ,but also as said before,the place was that cold (nov/dec) we all had the same problem and not one of us was happy.Forgot to mention,told no soup as had not had delivery,no steak and kidney pie and no gammon,good start ,i had wanted to leave before we started ,but others said maybe the food would be ok ,forget it.Do not risk going ,be it on your head if you do,the pictures of the place and food are untrue ,they should not be allowed to make themselves out to be something they are not ,i believe they are in the process of closing and if not ,should be.

Lovely homely pub, with real log fire! Steak is a speciality and is flame grilled, ours was cooked perfectly. Great service, friendly staff. Lots of choice on menu besides steak, also Sunday carvery. Definitely recommend.

The food is excellent worth the drive out a special find very rare for this quality of food in a local pub definitely recommend and will be returning

Me and my partner saw photos on Facebook and thought let's give it a try well one word can be said amazing , we spoke to chap behind the bar told us there plans on refurbishment , but are trying get support from the local brewery as pub is owned by them well we hope you get your support as we will be back.can say your food is out of this world we will definitely be back.

The Bay Horse Inn pub has had a few new landlords recently and for the first time under this new management I went along with some friends to celebrate a birthday instead of going to the Axe and Cleaver pub just up the road . Well the place has not changed much since I last went a few years ago the outside was full of old cigarette ends littering the place up as usual and inside the barman was scruffy and looked like he has not shaved in a week you could not get to the bar through locals all stood blocking it while chatting away with each other. Well my friend ordered the drinks and I was horrified at the state of the glasses they looked like they were not washed properly dirty hand prints and bits all over them and the price of drinks was to me very expensive. Stock was very run down and had only a small selection of bottled drinks for sale hardly any wine at all and the shelves looked very bare indeed. After getting the glasses cleaned by complaining about the state of them we all went and sat down with our drinks I had Bass and it was foul it tasted like it was the end of a barrel flat cloudy and tasted of sediment. So a while later I went up to get a round of drinks in and he asked if I wanted another Bass I said no it is horrid he replied I have been serving it all day and no one else has had any problems with it so I just ordered a bitter instead that was warm and also not been kept right either. in the end I went on to Carling Cider and that was not to bad but when I ordered another WKD blue for my friends sister he said sorry I don't have anymore so she had to have something else and when he got a glass from above the bar well it was disgusting again filthy dirty and he thought it was acceptable. I would not recommend this place to anyone at all until they clean there act up and i don't recommend trying the food either as you can bet the plates and cutlery and the cooking utensils wont be clean either if the glasses are anything to go by. My advice is give it a miss if you value your health I do not like giving bad reviews to any establishment I visit but i'm afraid there is nothing good to report about this place at all.

Great country pub, excellent staff creating a lovely atmosphere. Food excellent, mixed grill was very generous. would definitely visit again especially for the chocolate fudge cake

Fantastic staff, chef wasn't happy with our chips so brought fresh out to us but we thought they were great anyway. Food was hot, great value and scrummy. Will definitely be going again.

Called at the Bay Horse with the intention of having a meal. My wife sat outside while I went for our drinks. As soon as I walked in I saw a young man wearing a shirt (Not Staff) with a very offensive four letter word in large bold letters, and below that word the next words were, The Police. Why does the pub allow this for all to see, including Children? While sat outside you can't help to see a large number of cigarette ends, loads of weed's, and litter, planters with dead plants. A couple of old gas lamps look very nice, both fitted with energy saving bulbs but only working. All this did give me any appetite to eat here, so the takeaway next door it had to be. I walked past to the Axe And cleaver the next night and the outdoor seating area was exactly the same. On a good note the young lady serving drinks was very polite and helpful.

32oz Rump Steak ordered meduim rare, arrived well done. The irony is, they have a 'doneness' scale on every table, perhaps the chef should read it.

Tried to pass a frozen fish portion' the like of which you would buy from heron 6 for a couple of quid'.....as fresh beer battered fillets. Don't insult people's intelligence !!!

Visited on Saturday evening and plenty of tables to choose from , food was very good when it arrived , shame it took an hour and 10 minutes

We were looking for a nice pub that served good food at reasonable prices and we found it when we stopped here. We ordered three burgers and a korma and the food was delicious, not your typical microwave fast food but lovely home made burgers and a generous portion of home made chips. They had run out of bacon for the burgers so had put a piece of gammon with the burgers instead which we thought was a generous substitution rather than simply saying there was no bacon left. Service was excellent with friendly staff, my hubby asked for a taste of one of the ales and the staff were more than obliging. There were some desserts which were very tempting but we didn't have any room left for one. Will we be back.....absolutely!

Went in here for a meal , wouldn't go back ever. My partner went to bar to get a bottle of white wine to go with our meal , chap behind the bar told him " we sold a bottle of that wine the other day " never put another one in to chill , handed him a warm bottle off the shelf , he had to ask for an ice bucket to put in , instead of putting more in the chiller when they sold the last one , was still warm even in the ice bucket . Ordered meal and it arrived was not that great at all , another couple came in ordered wine and yes he still hadn't put any in the chiller . The staff were pleasant enough , but someone should maybe say to them when the whine wine is empty from the chiller , PUT SOME MORE IN .

We booked for 11 people for a birthday as we had previously been before and had an excellent meal . What can I say about the food . I ordered the same meal i had the last time I was there chicken with steak and jacket potato £16.95 which was amazing . I was so disappointed jacket potato 1/2 was cold . The chicken was freezing I sent it back and was not offered any discount of the price . If it hadn't been my sisters birthday I would have kicked up a fuss. I was offered some small ice creams for the kids , 1 scoop of chocolate ice cream . My mothers jacket potato was cold . My friends ordered burgers which they had ordered on previous visits and they were disgusted with the quality of the burgers and sausages . The presentation of the food needs to be looked at the meals look so bland , a bit of salad on the plate would make it look much more attractive and appetising. The mushrooms are disgusting dripping in fat . We will not be visiting again which is a shame compared to our first visit

called in at a lunchtime whilst staying in the area just for drinks and to look over the place. Friendly folk working there. Buy a coffee then refill free. Got the feeling that it would mostly cater for the younger set in the evening. Menu good. They seem to do a roaring trade (so we were told) in burgers and steaks.

We visited the bay horse this afternoon after seeing the photos of the food for a while but was a bit sceptical because of the 1 star reviews, it's not the most modern place but exactly what you would expect from a small village pub and clean with friendly staff, I ordered a chilli burger and my partner had requested a chicken breast burger which wasn't on the menu but they more than happily made, it took about 20 minutes so wasn't the rushed out the kitchen microwave crap you get at some places! The chips was real home made chips and the burgers were excellent... Also looked exactly how it does in the pictures! We then went on to ordering deserts that were really nice as well and not something you'd expect a little country pub to have. So all I can say is don't let the picky 1 star reviews put you off obviously I can't comment on there experience but everyone has an off day some people are just too quick to moan on here instead of saying something at the time and giving them a chance to put it right. We took our own photos of our food to show what we actually had was impressed with the efforts.

we have tried a few places for carveries and i can honestly say that the bay horse is our favourite ,the food is amazing & the staff are very helpful and very polite after visiting here we will be making this our place to go for our sunday dinner each week :)

The pub is dark inside but quite homely. The staff were very friendly and the outside area is nice when the sun shone. The food was great, liver & onions was a big sized portion, the burger & chips nice, presented well, home cooked chips just not enough of them! Very nice lunch spot!

We there on holiday and had possibly the best carvery I have ever had. Loads of well cooked tasty meat as well as the normal potatoes and veg. My wife had the large gammon steak and said it was very tasty. Very impressed with the food and would definitely go back if I was in the area again.

We waited more than an hour for 3 orders of fish and chips. No attention from the staff. Staff inappropriately dressed. Beer lines are dirty. Doombar looked almost like ginger beer. Please don't waste your time. There's a great Indian and Chinese and a lovely little chippy in Saltfleet.

the pub was old but very friendly staff was brill when the food came out i was surprised in how much you got in the mixed grill as every where is different very happy with the food and the service would go again

Called in for Sunday lunch and found it to be the best on the East coast! We eat out every week and this is by far the best carvery around. They also do full menu to! The staff were very friendly and helpful, the place is clean tidy and we'll equipped. It's also dog friendly.The food is priced fairly and great value for money. We will recommend you to friends and be back ourselves.Thank you.

Just back from an absolutely spot on Sunday lunch at The Bay Horse, Nth Somercotes. Lamb and beef cooked to perfection, lots of fresh veg. Oh, and you can have as much as you can eat.Terrific service and a cracking pint of DoomBar to wash it down. We'll definitely be going there again, leaves the Jug and Bottle miles behind.

Decided to try the Bay horse after seeing their Facebook page for a birthday meal with my husband. Table booked and we were seated immediately (reasonably quiet but we like that). Good selection of dishes although starters could have more options. I ordered garlic mushrooms which were delicious and came with plenty of salad but it arrived in a ridiculous tall stemmed fluted contraption which made it difficult to eat from. Main dishes were amazing we ordered the large gammon and cock and bull (chicken and steak). Everything cooked to perfection although would have preferred everything to have been served up on a plate not on a wooden board balanced on a plate but that's my preference. Would not hesitate to eat here again. Well done chef you managed to please my husband and that is a feat believe me!

We called in for a meal as we visit the area often. The pub was quiet with about 8 people eating. We chose the lamb and mint burger and the steak and ale pie. The meals looked nice when they arrived but the burger was tasteless and the meat in the pie was full of fat and gristle. We did complain about the pie and were given an alternative meal. The barman came back and said that some people like to have their meat that way but it was awful. We were also given a complimentary drink. There was some entertainment on in the pub but unfortunately there was no one in there to listen to it. However there was a group of 3 men and a woman who were drunk and causing problems not only to the staff but also to their customers. The woman came and sat at our table making a nuisance of herself and she also tried to sing into the microphone with the entertainer. Instead of being asked to leave they were served more drinks so we decided to leave. I wouldn't go back there.

Read reviews on FB n my sister realy wanted to try it out so booked a table we arrived few mins late which told was good due to ppl still not moved.While waiting told just about to clear table n then some ppl walk in n took the table Saw 2 ppl sat on a 6seater n a 2 table empty. Got table 20mins later still at a table not been wiped coz we all got salt all over arms from last customers. Table we were sat at the table in corner had highchair which the bk of it was against out table very tight.We ordered quickly due how busy i ordered burger no bun (gluten free diet) no salad in burger just cheese. Our burgers arrived 30mins later with bun & salad so asked take bk n just take it off (wasnt waiting as others had thiers) came bk still with bun so repeted it again wht had ordered how hard to read ticket.Wen finely got it no apology just it was on the ticket loked at it hardly any cheese due to loosing it from bun other than that the burger looked great from outside cut into it n was quite pink my other sister dosnt do pink but forced herself n so did i.Whilst sat waiting deciding if getting pudding the entertainment walked in took table (even though another booked table had been waiting) turned up propping door open (freezing) his wires not covered blocking fire exit door so we decided to pay n go coz also table behind had waited a while for puddings.Once finished waitress clearing table informed her that was very pink wen came bk she said its 100% beef... WHT i dont care so went to bar to pay spoke quietly with assumed manager n said if known cud have asked to be cooked well done he was being nice then his father butted in rudly n said 100% not like birds eye wht aint propper n how its cooked like a steak so i then got very annoyed at how rude he was towards us i said ive worked 8yr in pub n if ur treating a burger as a steak then ask how we would like it cooked as on the table is a steak cooking info.He needed to keep his nose out & i know from other reviews his dad does carvey so wont be going again.Such a dissapointment all in all

We have eaten here now numerous times. The food is home cooked ( chips are amazing!) the steaks are always cooked to perfection ( according to our friends we eat there with) Gammon is tender and thick, I have had this 3 times now :-) mixed grill and all day brunch is a success within our party. It is under New Management and this reflects the time of food getting to the table when busy. However I think the family will pull together and get this sorted before the season really kicks off ( I hope). The pub inside is tired but for me is cozy and friendly. I am looking forward to seeing how the new management progress. Just one more thing remember your locals are also your winter trade ;-)

Popped in here after the wife recommended it, the pub itself is very old fashioned with burgundy velvet style chairs and brass adorning the walls, one good thing is the real fire on a cold day, staff seemed pleasant enough and checked on us to see if every thing was ok. I selected a burger, which was not like the one pictured, but a lot smaller, so first impression was not good, then the chips were slightly over cooked, however there deserts were to die for, and the Doombar was superb, will I go there again, yes, will give it another go. So Bayhorse, please just up your game a little, don't just rely on holiday tourism, and look after your locals.

I have to say the mixed grill is amazing the meat was cooked to perfection and my husband couldn't eat it all as it was so much meat well worth the money my only down side was that I was near another table of customers who should have been ashamed of themselves the way they treated the very busy lovely friendly young waitress was discpicable I've never witnessed such rudeness in all my life this was Saturday 26th all they did was complain and even though she was run of her feet they had no understanding and spoke to her in a disgusting manor only wish my husband wasn't there to make me hold my tongue

We booked a table for four 26th March and after an half hour wait for our table there was lack of any organisation, when our table was finally ready other walking customers were jumping the queue, once we had placed our ordered ,we had an additional one hour wait for the food. The large Gammon steak meal was not as advertised and the waitress was unhelpful even when we pointed out the menu, one steak was not cooked to our requirements and had to be sent back, the mixed grills was delivered on wooden bread boards which did not prevent grease leaking onto trousers. Other customers were also complaining of delays and food issues. When asked for serviettes after we had eaten none were delivered. The entertainer wss even being set up in a fire exit. The young barman seemed to have more idea and was helpful. This was highly reccomended to us, however, our friends must have been joking. The manager requires to address the waitress mannerisms, organisation structure and meal quality. This may have been one bad night for all customers, however, we are used to better and the above has never happened to us before, after complaining the only positive was that we did not pay for any of the meals. Dont upset the waitress as you get a black look as you leave.

Table booked for Saturday 25th at 7.30. once we arrived we were not given a table and told they had to many walk in customers and we would have to wait for the next available table. No table offered and by 8.15 we were getting rather fed up so decided to leave along with others who had booked and been waiting. Judging by the complaints from customers about the food and service and the fact they were running out of beer rapidly we had a lucky escape.I also notice that the pubs face book page which had some poor reviews on including mine has since been removed.

Been here many times when we stay at Lakeside but this is the first time with the new gaffers. Oh my days!! The beer is so well looked after & the food???? Words can not describe the burger myself & the wife just had! Everything, home cooked. We even demanded the chef come down stairs so we could tell him to his face just how much we enjoyed our meals! So if you're passing, or fancy PROPER pub food, then The Bay Horse is a must for you!

Booked a table for my fathers birthday after hearing about a few good reviews on the steaks they serve.The place was freezing with just an open fire for warmth, which myself and the other members of my party had to keep my young nephew away from as there was no fire guard present to prevent injury's.The décor looked very dated and the whole place could do with a good clean.We all ordered various steaks which we received in good time however not one was cooked how we had requested with some being over cooked and some under, but this wasn't our main problem with the meal this came around two minuets later when the juices started to come out of the steaks (these clearly were not rested in the kitchen as they should have been), because all the meals had been served on what can only be described as marble slabs the juices were running everywhere, all over the table and all over ourselves. I asked for more napkins which did nothing to stem the flow.One of our party ordered a T-Bone steak which arrived five minuets later than everyone else's meal and was unnaturally curled up for some reason, I wouldn't have served it to a dog myself.All in all the meals were cooked incorrectly (why ask how we want it cooking just to disregard it ?).My nephews burger was burnt to a crisp and completely inedible.Complaints were made to members of staff who were either to busy or to uneducated to care and rectify them (I mean seriously its not rocket science).Will not be visiting again and will strongly advise everyone to avoid like the plague.

Visited for the first time a couple of weeks ago on way back from Mablethorpe to Tetney and called in for a spot of lunch. Was very pleasantly surprised, good choice of meat, good choice of veg and a very warm and homely pub. We liked it that much we went back the following week for Mother's Day and it was still just as nice. We did take friends with us and they really enjoyed it too, said it was one of the best Carvery's they have been to and we live on the doorstep of Crown Carveries. The staff are friendly and approachable, nothing too much trouble, keep up the good work and we will be in for a Steak soon.

I was very dissapointed on the service bar staff was extremely rude always on phones or going out for a fag. Glasses left on tables id vist the pub again as long as different staff with better manners

We went as a family for a meal out tonight. Couldn't fault any of the food. We had a variety of dishes, including assorted starters, steaks, chicken, Ultimate Challenge Burger and dessert.Steaks were cooked exactly as we had ordered them, which is very good. Good atmosphere & friendly serviceWill definitely be returning.

Food was brilliant, was over listening one of the waitresses and she was so rude, so arrogant! I can't even put into words how rude she was to some of the customers. Witnessed her also taking tips of the table for her self! Hence the 3* rating otherwise would of been a 5!

Came here with friends as it had been taken over by new people.I had surf and turf and it was spot on couldn't complain service was good .Only downside about the pub is it could with a little updating inside but if your a bloke it serves good steak and good beer so suppose that doesn't really matter

Walked in and in the end didn't even eat even though we had booked a table. We were stared at as we walked in, the place was filthy, tables weren't cleaned and food all over the floor yet the staff stood in a corner chatting! The bar maid served drinks in glasses covered in lipstick and then disappeared half way through serving us to the back so what looked like a punter ended up finishing our order. We were told we should book a table as it was extremely busy yet when we turned up it was empty. Shame because the food on the fb page looked great, unfortunate there's no pics of the restaurant area or I wouldn't have wasted my time or fuel. On the up side ended up in the greyhound Louth and their food is some of the best!

We booked for Valentine's nite. .and weren't disappointed. .food was really good .. maybe not the most romantic place but beer well kept and food excellent ..Would recommend

Called in whilst stayimg locally recently.A cosy old school village pub nice open fire to get cosy by on a chilly day with some fine beer.Didnt eat here but what meals saw being served looked rather good', & would certainly try on a return visit from a very reasonable priced menu. Friendly staff and very welcoming chatty locals.Will certainly return.

I have a seasonal pitch on Oasis Lakes and went in this place a few times last year and the food and service was crap,went in today and it has a new owner,had a carvery and it was one of the best i have ever had a good service and a good price aswell,also they have a lovely menu so when we go to our caravan we will be going in there regularly many thanks

Recently visited with friends. 10 people in our party. Most had different choices. All of us really enjoyed our meals. The steaks were amazing. All our food was served hot. Very impressed. Suggest improvements to service could be made.

Mixed views really. The food when it eventually arrived was good but took forty five minutes to arrive even though we were the only customers in there on a Saturday afternoon and was told 15 minutes. I never actually got what I ordered even though they came out to check what I had ordered! No steak knife was provided and no sign of any napkins of any sort. The condiments arrived as we asked for them instead of all together in the condiment tray. The surroundings where cold and so we chose a table by the open fire but the other tables where squashed in and so the waitress had to lean over us or I had to keep getting up out of my chair in the middle of my meal so that she could get around the table. Added to other problems we left some constructive criticism with the manager who was not very receptive. We paid our bill, in full, received no receipt and no acceptable explanation, only excuses, with not an offer of complimentary coffee, or even a voucher in order to entice us back. In short would not recommend.

We went for a Sunday carvery today , well disappointed , it took ten mins for a barman to serve us , when we went for carvery there was gammon , turkey ,pork an beef , the turkey was red , the pork we couldn't put our knife in it , hardly any veg left it was 230 everything was cold , We have heard some good things about this place that's why we paid a visit I don't know we're they get the pictures from , but the carvery didn't look like that , we will not be going back again .

warm welcome food great ,the people have just took it over, plenty of bookins for food. i would strongly recommend, but do not be put off with lack of bar staff to serve you drinks, i was in today and the bar was empty without staff, but food and welcome make up for it

I won I meal for 2 on FB, my husband and I went last nite, he had a ribeye steak I had a fillet, was expecting to pay for starters but we didn't just our drinks . Was well impressed, we said best steaks we had in a long while, homemade chips and onion rings, would definitely recommend. We will be returning,

We went on Saturday night, the food was really nice, beautiful steak. We had to wait for nearly an hour with no explanation. The service from the young lady was pretty bad, the men were very attentive though. The tables were dirty and weren't cleaned, the table next to us was dirty all evening including a high chair out and food all over the floor. Would go again but it needs to be cleaner please

Great Service from the staff, ordered the 32oz rump steak challenge and the daily special flamed gammon both arrived hot,well presented and cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend trying this establishment

Just had a fabulous meal at this pub. What a difference the new management have made. My son had a huge tender steak and our fish and chips were delicious and beautifully presented.

Had a pint and a roast pork Sunday lunch.Best Sunday lunch I've had in ages . Home made Yorkshire pudding and lovely veg .☺️

Came to pub tonight to see the singer and have some tea took family food was good I really enjoyed my chicken I would recommend ppl to come here for a visit but only thing I would recommend is to buy some fans or something the pub was boiling other then that was a good night singer was good!

the staff are very friendly and welcoming. the food is ok if you like it plastered in salt. I don't put salt on my meals I don't like it and it also upsets my stomach. the meal was sent back with the explanation that I cannot eat salt. they apologised and bought me a fresh meal which was fine until I tried to eat it the chef had still added salt needless to say I did not eat. if the chef feels his cooking needs all that salt then it doesn't say a lot for him as a chef. while I know seasoning is used to cook the food. people that eat the food should have the choice to add their own seasoning if they want it, not have the chef say it is how it should be served. I will not be going there again and I will in no way recommend it to anyone.

The service was friendly but the slow. Half of the food wasn't available. The food was ok but lazy. 'Homemade Chips' were deep fried halved potatoes, the onion rings smelt, looked and tasted like they'd been cooked in dirty old fat. It just wasn't great which is a shame. Don't think we'll go back.

I came to the bay horse inn pub for some lunch, I had the fish and chips what was really nice big fish and homemade chips didn't think much of the mushy peas but for the price can't complain. I'm on holiday all week so I'll be popping in for a drink I fancy the steak next!! Cheers for lunch. Paul
