Bay Cafe in Isle of Anglesey

Stopped for a winter Sunday lunch . Food was excellent, and great value for money. I'm sure in the summer sat on the balcony over looking the beach it's a great spot

Cheerful, quick service. Bacon exceptional. Great value full English breakfast. The weather prohibited sitting outside and taking in the view.

If only the rest of the community were as friendly and welcoming. Overnight camping is not tolerated in Anglesey even tho we are a couple in our 50’s just wanting to view the beauty they take for granted

Had a Full English breakfast twice during our stay in Benllech and this was the best of the two. I’d arrive 10/15 minutes before they open to bag an outside table with a fabulous view of the bay.

Our go to place for breakfast with a really excellent full English. The bacon was nicely cooked and very thick. We did need to have extra shots of coffee in our lattes though.

We have as a family used the cafe for many years pre/covid so we decided to lunch at the Bay the other day . Do have to say the service was good but the experience not too good . The presentation of the food poor and varying degrees of cooking re three gammon ! Thought menu selection poor with then two specials gammon or a meat pie ! the menu used to be very varied to suit all tastes but found it very restrictive ! The plus is location and indeed the staff service / keep your breakfast on over lunch ?

Been visiting here from time to time over many years and the food has always been really good on every occasion. A varied menu, good service and fair prices, with alcohol available if required !. It must be one of the best cafes in Wales in which to eat outside with its location and views across the bay.

Lovely spot overlooking the bay, great choice of food and drinks, outside seating and dogs welcome. There is a small carpark but plenty of parking on the road.

Had ham and cheese toastie and a cheese and tomato toastie, both of which were delicious. As we were accompanied by a dog we sat outside and enjoyed the experience despite the frequent showers. After a short walk we returned to the cafe to enjoy another latte and tea with homemade scrumptious Victoria sponge snd a coffee and walnut sponge. Service was also second to none. We went more than once to this café in the week we were in Anglesey. We experienced lovely food at reasonable prices & good service. We has mums breakfast today but yesterday we had the panini which were delicious and a homemade scone for dessert :) Fantastic view of Benllech beach, you are practically on it! They have seating inside but there are plenty of tables outside when it is hot & sunny I would 100% recommend this café oh and they have a licence!

Great location for lunch - the views from the outside seating area were fab. We were outside as we had our dog with us and we expected/accepted a longer wait as we were a party of 6 adults and a child . The quality of the food was very good and decent portion sizes. I must admit that those who chose the tasty paninis were still a little jealous of the pie and chips eater in our group! We were too full to manage a cake but they looked awesome … maybe next time… Staff were very friendly and our waitress made a fuss of our dog !

Excellent menu and food, you can literally get everything here. Hot food, sandwiches and delicious cakes... a good cuppa too... Sandwiches with chips where so good. Beautiful fresh food... staff are friendly and welcoming, the cafe itself is clean and comfortable. Lovely deck outside to eat overlooking the bay. Highly recommended every time...

We love it here! Lovely super clean cafe, with spectacular view of Benllech beach. We love the breakfast choices, but have also had light lunch here. Glorious place to sit outside, weather permitting. The staff here are so smiley and friendly, and work hard. Very welcoming. We are back in Benllech in October, and will definitely be visiting Bay Cafe. ( I'll be buying some fresh local free range eggs too! )

Really beautiful little spot - great cafe, lovely staff, delicious cakes and yummy hot chocolates&coffees. We stopped here after walking along the beach from Red Wharf Bay and had a coffees, hot chocolates and a selection of cakes - all were delicious!!We didn’t order any meals but the food that we saw looked really good.The staff were great - friendly, helpful and professional.The only negative is that they haven’t got any toilet facilities (they do have toilets but these are currently closed due to Covid) - which when visiting with children isn’t great!!! Lots of other places are managing to have their toilet facilities open for customers and they simply take details for track and trace and ensure regular cleaning/sanitising. If you’re expecting customers to come and visit and purchase food & drinks then you should be offering toilet facilities for them to use if needed.Luckily there are public toilets just opposite Benllech beach which were open on the day we visited (but we were informed that these aren’t always open).

We popped in here for breakfast during our holiday in Angelesey on the recommendation of our holiday accommodation owner.The setting overlooking the bay - as its name suggests - is ideal and the cafe boasts a modern, clean terrace for pandemic-distanced dining.Staff were all polite and helpful.The menu was basic and possibly reduced as a result of changes during the pandemic. That's perfectly acceptable but does mean what you do serve up should be done well. The food was average and the pricing questionable - the veggie breakfast was charged at the same price as the large breakfast (mushrooms and hash brown instead of two sausages, two bacon and black pudding).We asked to swap the fried bread on the veggie breakfast for toast and were pointed to a note on the menu saying 'no swapping'. So we paid extra for toast - fair enough. However the breakfast then arrived without the fried bread (which my partner was looking forward to stealing from my plate!). So we weren't allowed to swap, but they were allowed to just 'not include'.Another star lost for the passive aggressive approach: 'no swapping', 'don't use our bins...how would you like it if we used yours'.

We were a group of 7 people and were looking for a lite lunch and refreshments.After waiting a short while for a table for us all, which was no problem as it gave us time to look at the menu and decide what each of us were going to order, we were seated.Service was excellent and the snacks, a mixture of toasties, paninis and cod goujons, were all fantastic.The view over the bay just added to a great time to catch up and enjoy the visit.

We stumbled upon this cafe a few days ago and enjoyed a coffee here on a rather blustery day! The coffee was superb as was the view. We had to sit outside to comply with COVID 19 regulations. The cafe was very well set up to keep everyone safe. They have recently refurbished their outside area and is now beautiful decking and glass windbreaks. I will visit again before the end of my holiday!

Fabulous food , our party had mushrooms with garlic dip , ham and cheese toastie , tea cake , scampi and took several cakes home with us , we sat outside as we had the dog with us , but inside looked lovely and after a stroll on the beach it was just what we needed to sit down and enjoy our food and coffees whilst watching the tide come in . The service was great , the staff were really friendly and I would definitely recommend it as the menu and specials all looked yummy

Lovely cosy cafe with a great view. The staff were very friendly.We ordered the ham and cheese panini, homemade beef stew and the welsh wonder which consisted of a crusty cob with sausage and onions with chips. All were generous portions and reasonably priced.We purchased some home made mince pies to take away which proved to be delicious.

I would alway choose to eat here as the food is lovely. Very affordable the staff are lovely and everything is very clean what more can you ask for

We had to sit outside as we had a dog. The views are gorgeous but rather cold on a October Saturday morning.Due to the no dog rules we didn't eat as it would go cold to quick.Drinks were ok but for an independent run business the staff or owner whoever served us was very unfriendly.

A small and busy cafe with seating inside and outside. The outside seating overlooks the beach. A varitey of food and drink is on offer at reasonable prices. There maybe waiting time at certain times, but well worth the wait

Had breakfast here again this year and it’s as good as ever. Full breakfast with coffee. Typical breakfast with fried bread and toast. Good portions and good quality and excellent coffee. Quick service if you’re in early but it is popular with a queue forming ahead of open time at 9.30 am on Saturday morning. Great views are just a bonus.

Eaten here when visiting mom several times. Busy atmosphere bustling with families & dogs. Today we both chose baked spuds with tuna & sweetcorn. Queue to order but delivered promptly. No cutlery had to request. Huge portions slightly luke warm. guess as tuna is cold on top of potato made it cold, disappointing. Great view of bay from table 24 in extension. Will be back tho.

This is a lovely cafe that does snacks to full meals. Really lovely atmosphere and fantastic gluten free choices too. Would definitely recommend it to all.

Had an evening meal here and was really impressed. You definitely need to book in advance especially in the summer months as this is not a big place and only has a small amount of room. Staff were very helpful, service was quick and food was excellent. On this occasion we decided to have a starter unfortunately this meant that there was no room for dessert and even though we were advised that they did do take away. We were just too full and content.

I took my youngest son for lunch whilst the rest of the family were on a jet ski course. The cafe is small and a little cramped but does have some tables outside. The view over Benllech beach is amazing. The food was delicious, very big portions. We only had main courses, and my son loved the gammon steak .The staff were fine but no overly friendly, considering it is a tourist town.

We’d read good reviews about the cafe and so went to try it for ourselves and weren’t disappointed. We all had a tasty breakfast which was served swiftly and cooked really well. Staff were friendly and breakfast was reasonably priced.

Called in after a walk along the coastal path. Just had a cream tea and coffee. Scones were terribly crumbly but tasty strawberry jam was poor, really, cream ok. I think mine was better than my husband's he wasn't impressed at all, food had been dropped on the floor around our table yak. So don't think we'd choose to visit again

Stopped for coffee one day and on seeing breakfasts went back the next day to join everyone else enjoying theirs! Nice combination at good price. Only four stars because they didn’t have tomatoes but didn’t offer a substitution.

Real gem on the beach that serves breakfast to dinner

What a treat this place is. The food is delicious, we came for dinner and it couldn’t be faulted I highly recommend the minty lamb casserole. The desserts looked amazing, but I was too full to have one. The service was impeccable from the friendly staff, it was a shame it was raining when we visited as the view from the patio over the beach looked great.

This was my second visit to this little gem.

We have been visiting here many years and it gets better every time. The service is 100% . Nothing is too much trouble. They’re breakfasts are amazing . How anyone can give them 1 when they haven’t even been there is beyond me and the people that say the food is awful you obviously are living in a dream world !!!

We holiday in Anglesey every year and this is our go to place for breakfasts which are the best! Friendly staff and reasonable prices make this a pleasurable experience. Been coming here for years and not had one bad breakfast at all. Really recommended!

Came in April when we enjoyed great food and hospitality. Returned as promised in July and received the same high quality of food and service. This time, we visited for an evening meal and for breakfast on the day of our departure. Full marks for food, friendliness, efficiency and location. Keep up the good work!

We had the gammon steaks and oate and all the fiid was delicious. The service was extremely friendly and the cafe had a lovely atmosphere. There is an outside space with great views and dogs were definitely welcome. The people on the table next to us said their food was excellent too. Definitely worth stopping in if you are in the area.

Perfect place on a warm summers day to enjoy a meal overlooking the beach. Couldn't fault the food, very good - no complaints. I had scampi and my husband had the lamb casserole, both enjoyable. Dogs are allowed outside.

The food was lovely, except they forgot our drinks! We were in there for an hour, and they didn’t bring our drinks. I was enjoying it at the start but it didn’t end well

Possibly the worst cafe I’ve ever been to.

After camping locally we wanted somewhere for breakfast but just missed out on that menu but we were not disappointed with the lunchtime menu. Very good value for money great food and great service highly recommend a visit.

As it was closed we went to the chippie up the road and can thoroughly recommend it, nice fresh fish and excellent chips. we sat outside in the sunshine to eat them.

We had been recommended to go to the Bay Cafe and initially we tried to have lunch there on Tuesday but when we went in there was no suggestion to seat yourself nor did the staff welcome us and direct us. After a few minutes we walked through to seat ourselves and as I was putting my daughters bag down a women appeared from nowhere and threw her paper down on a table for 4 and proclaimed she was sitting there (there were 3 of us) and she was on her own. The waitress apologised as she walked past but surely it’s better for a family to sit on lunch a large table rather than 1 person?! Unfortunately the place was busy and no other tables were suitable for us and our 1 year old (it was also a little too windy for her to sit outside!)

Went here twice on our visit to Anglesey. Our first visit we were ready for a coffee and the Bay Cafe was handy. When we went in we were greeted with friendly and efficient service and the food looked so delicious we went back the next day for dinner. On our second visit the service was equally good and friendly and the food was as good as it had looked the previous day. The menu is surprisingly extensive with all requirements well catered for. Finally came the bill which proved to be excellent value. Don’t be put off by the unpretentious looks from the roadside, this is a real gem and if visiting the Island again I would make a special detour to eat here.

My wife and I called Saturday 22.6.2019. We both enjoyed our breakfast apart from the bacon which was a bit hard in places. However, this wouldn't stop us calling again.

Had a marvellous breakfast here yesterday. Full breakfast - obviously - was delicious and hearty. The young staff were efficient and courteous. We arrived about 0930 but by 1000 it was pretty busy so get here early or book. I’ll definitely be back.

This looks small from the outside but is very welcoming and well organised, serving a very wide range of tasty food. We had cake and ice cream which was delicious and service friendly. Excellent place.
