The Tavern on the Bay in Isle of Anglesey

This restaurant is in a superb location with fabulous views, so that's a great start. The food was tasty and good value. The service we received from Sophie, Alexandra & Charley was friendly and attentive, a very nice experience, will be back.

The food is not what I was expecting from a pub / restaurant in a holiday park. It’s more gastro pub than that and it was perfectly cooked. We had duck bon-bons and crispy chicken to start. Both were delicious For mains we had gammon and chips and fish chowder, we really enjoyed it but were too full to have dessert We booked in advance and I’d recommend it because it will get busy. The staff were very helpful and friendly especially our server Sophie….thanks

We booked a table for an evening meal on Friday 26th April 2024. We had fantastic service from start to finish! The food was incredible! Very good portion sizes and the food was cooked to perfection! We were served by Sophie from beginning to end and were very well looked after. She was polite, friendly and very helpful when asked about the food. We will definitely be visiting again! We dined as a group of 4 and had a lovely time from start to finish. We were welcomed by Sophie and shown to our comfortable table in the spacious dining area complete with fantatstic views of Benllech Bay. Sophie Alexandra and Ella took orders and served us with a lovely friendly attitude and our food and drinks arrived promptly and efficiently all evening. Starters were a greek salad, 2 x buttermilk chicken and prawn and smoked salmon. Mains were a quorn burger, 2 fillet steaks and a braised beef. Desserts were 2 x ice cream, a sticky toffee pudding and a bakewell tart. We all agreed that the food was lovely and washed down with various wines, beer and cocktails. Thank you all for another fabulous evening.

Enjoyed a wonderful extended family meal , everyone had a different meal and all loved their selection. The staff were friendly , attentive and all the food came out promptly. The road into the tavern is through a caravan park , which made you think are we going the right way, but my advice is persevere as it is worth it and the view is wonderful. Fully recommend a night out here.

Had a really lovely meal, Alex and Reid were really attentive, with smiles and very polite. Food arrived quick and hot and delicious. They kept us completely topped up with drinks. The menu is a little bit more expensive but it is quality and well justified. The views were fabulous out over the beach and everything tidy and clean. Would definitely go back of in the area again.

Great place with stunning views over Red Wharf Bay. Great menu offering plenty of choice. Friendly service and really enjoyed our meal. We had smoked mackerel salad & mac cheese starters followed by Braised Welsh beef with all the trimming and Hot Seafood platter. Worth a visit.

The pictures don’t do this heavenly place justice, this is a food lovers paradise, lovely setting, excellent service and thanks to alexandra and jade for looking after us. A must return visit in summer is on the cards

Just wanted to say thanks to Alexandra and the rest of the team for a great experience! We were in the area for a few days and this was the highlight of our weekend. Alexandra even spotted that it was my girlfriends birthday and arranged a special surprise for the dessert without me even prompting it. Amazing attention to detail and it was massively appreciated. A small touch but we were made up! Thanks again, we'll definitely be back soon. Oh, and the food was amazing!!!

Made very welcome from the outset by Chloe. She attended to all our needs and was particularly helpful to my 80 year old mother to make it a very enjoyable birthday for her. Altogether a very pleasant afternoon with good food and views over the bay.

We had a lovely Sunday Lunch here to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The food was really tasty, the portions were huge, and the service was great. We were served by Sophie and Alexandra who were both friendly and arranged a surprise dessert for my husband. Will definitely be booking to come again.

It’s a beautiful place but I was so disappointed with the food. I’d ordered Thai red curry after craving it all week, the sauce was okay, creamy and a little spicy but lacking a lot of the flavour that would make it a Thai curry. Most disappointingly though, the chicken in the curry was pre-cooked and pre-sliced, like you’d buy from the cooked meats isle in a supermarket as a sandwich filling. Not fresh and with no flavours of the dish. It was also rubbery and had a lot of gristle. I had to pick it out and just have the sauce. I’m also very confused by the concept of serving naan bread and mango chutney with a Thai curry? Seems very strange! That being said, I did enjoy the starter and the staff were friendly which is why I’ve given the 3* so I guess just be careful what you order.

This tavern has an exceptional view! The staff were excellent, especially Ewan first his drinks service and great travel tips , and Alexandra who provided excellent meal service and insightful suggestions. Thoroughly recommend!

The Tavern on The Bay offers a culinary escape with impeccable service and mouthwatering dishes set against the backdrop of a stunning beach sited at the end of a holiday park with free parking. Our meals arrived soon after ordering and were delicious which was impressive seeing that we didn’t book a table in advance. However, we would definitely recommend booking a table as this place will be busy during the summer months. Highly recommended.
