We were very impressed to be offered a vegan gluten free pizza. It was the nicest we've tasted as we both have food sensitivities. The staff were helpful and the cafe was stocked with gifts and food items for purchasing. Will most definitely eat there again and highly recommend it.

Been to Anglesey many times, but this is the first time we have visited Penmon Priory and the lighthouse at the bottom of the toll road. The toll cost is £3.50 for cars and this goes to the upkeep of the priory so happy to pay. The road is narrow in a couple of spots but drive slowly and it is fine. We called into the cafe to see if we could get an order to take away and ordered burgers with chips. Wasn't too sure what to expect but the burgers were gorgeous and huge. The chips were also nice, although the portions were large so we couldn't finish them. My mum had a tea and it was lovely, I tried it and even though I don't drink tea very often we ended up sharing it as it was so nice. Staff member that served me was friendly and efficient, and the order was ready quickly. I've seen a few reviews mention the price, and yes I would agree it is slightly overpriced for burgers and chips, but given the quality and location we don't mind paying and supporting a local business.

Overpriced food, I was confronted by owner for questioning the price of an item ( i.e was it a mistake ? ). I was a bit shocked and saddened by her behaviour. Having a bad day maybe ? It’s a lovely location, if you take a picnic you may enjoy it more ?

Pilot House Cafe is at the end of the road leading to Penmon Point, an undesirable location given the toll you have to pay to even access it and underwhelming nature of the attraction. However, the cafe makes up for these external deficiencies by serving outstanding snacks and desserts with a smile. I had a chocolate ice cream which was delicious. There's a lovely seating area outside which looks across the Menai Strait, as well as a smaller space to sit inside.

This cafe came highly recommended so we decided to park up before the toll road and do the walk which was lovely. Arrived at around 9.45am - cafe has no signage outside to show when they open, so we followed someone through the gate (which was on a latch), walked past a staff member who was chatting to someone, and we walked in through the door. Guy comes out to the counter and immediately says "did you just come in through the closed gate?" we start speaking and he just cuts us off with the following tangent "if the gate is CLOSED that means we aren't OPEN. you've come in through a closed gate!!" maybe someone should tell him that the gate can be locked at the bottom to stop people coming in if they're not open? we thought the gate was closed because it was extremely windy which i personally think is quite logical but maybe i'm wrong? they also appear to let customers with dogs sit in the outdoor area which is another reason the gate would be closed? i've worked in tourism for over 10 years on the west coast of Scotland so I know that working with tourists can really grate on your nerves but i'd still never dream on taking it out on them because i'm a nice person. if he'd have said "sorry guys we dont open for another 15 minutes, if you come back then i'd be happy to serve you" we wouldve been more than happy to wander around on the beach and come back. hope he has a better day tomorrow!

Over priced , Wooden cutlery & paper cups for hot drinks . Pizza was very small. I got the impression they had been frozen and they stuck a few bits on top. £1 for garlic mayo that tasted of glue. I think it says it all it was very quiet at lunchtime in the school holidays .

This is our 3rd visit here in 5 years time and it just seems to get better every time. We holiday in Prestatyn and this cafe is now a ‘must visit’ whenever we visit. The cafe has breathtaking views and the whole vibe of the place is a happy one, very colorful and free spirited. The owners and staff are very welcoming and happily took time to advise us on local walking routes and other places to visit. We loved the milkshakes! The food was delicious (we ordered pizzas and loaded chips), very fast although we weren’t in any kind of rush. All in all an absolutely wonderful place to visit!

Delious food, pizza, burgers, nachos and fries. Lovely welcoming owners. Cocktails where lovely as we tried a few. We where staying at the Coastguards cottage. As we where out most days travelling about Anglesey we would eat at the Pilot Cafe in the evenings. There was a windy cool evening once and the owners had a lovely real fire going. It felt snug and cosy.

We had another visit to Penmon for the weekend and would have been rude not to stop by the Pilot House cafe, the breakfast was spot on after a heavy night of drinking, and the Blue cheese burger was to die for! Pizza was a luke-warm, under-cooked 'bread' style thing and massively over-priced, - as was the rest of the menu, which shouldn't be much of a surprise given it's the only place to get hot food or drink in about a mile radius. I will say, it wasn't so bad I sent it back or complained - frankly I was ravenous after the journey there so I scoffed the lot - but be warned, you're not exactly getting 'bang for your buck' here. The service, though quick, was a bit strong on the upselling for my liking too. Lady that served me seemed so determined to add extras to my order that she wasn't really listening to what I wanted and the order got a bit chaotic. We had a couple of coffees too, which were okay, but they were given to us in take away cups by default (I wasn't actually asked the question) which I thought was a bit strange for a Café. All I'd say is, it's probably best to bring a picnic if you're visiting this spot; the full meals really are quite expensive for the quality you get - I imagine The Pilot House Café is a bit better at smaller things and drinks anyway; it did look like a fun place to grab an alcoholic drink or an ice cream, but we weren't there for that.

This is a shed on a beach! Don't be fooled though. This is a bright, cheerful and quirky shed with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Inside is warm and cosy with a log fire. One pot of tea, one double, triple chocolate ice cream, a somewhat dubious flat white coffee (hence the rating), a visit or two from a Welsh Collie, a few bars from a resident/passing (?) guitarist and we were refreshed and ready to go again. Well, we paid to go up the toll road and look out over Puffin Island and the little lighthouse ... and in this bleak spot was this little white walled cafe! It had an impressive range of at least half a dozen cakes to have a slice from - coffee and walnut for me, lemon and earl grey for my wife ... tea .. and then ... she fancied a bacon bap! It was delivered well done as requested and absolutely packed with lovely bacon. If it’s open (I guess it is seasonal) be sure to stop by here - asic oilcloth tables and shelves of touristy toys etc but what comes out of the kitchen is ace.

Would think of returned of back in the area, but not during wasp season. Surrounding area is gorgeous, worth a visit.

It's grown in size since I was last here and was packed when we got there (afternoon) but it's worth visiting. Hubby and I had scone with cream each, a tea and cappuccino, and it cost £12. Tasted lovely so happy with that. Staff friendly. Would recommend.

Came here as we knew you accepted dogs inside as per previous reviews. Did not realise where we were going until we arrived and got the supprise of the lighthouse and Puffin island. Lovely spot nicely tucked away. Very quaint. Food very nice, perfect for lunch. Service with a smile great. Now off to explore.

Second visit to this lovely quaint cafe in a beautiful part of Anglesey . The warm weather meant there were ample table/chairs and umbrellas outside which had a continuous flow or couples /families /walkers /dogs enjoying the laid back atmosphere of the cafe and surrounding scenic area. The lovely blonde haired young woman serving was very polite happy and professional in her work, serving the constant queue of people with a lovely smile. The beverages were served lovely and hot and the food followed shortly after ,freshly made and again hot and tasty. We even had a cake /scone and ice cream as dessert which were again delicious . Lovely cafe ,delightful staff we will call again . Thank you .

A gem of a cafe.It has been tastefully redecorated since my last visit. Wall mounted boating accessories add to the nautical feel and ambience.Lovely pleasant staff serve tasty food. There is a garden with views over Straits entrance and Snowdonia which rival anywhere.

Lovely cafe with lots of choice of the right sort of food for our family! Sausage butties, ham sandwiches, tea, pop and ice cream. Not to mention the sorbet my dairy intolerant 7 yr old had 😊!

We've been to this cafe the last 3 years on our summer holidays to Anglesey. The cafe is in a lovely spot and has a good selection of drinks and snacks. It caters for my dairy allergic son and my sweet toothed husband and daughter! All the staff are friendly and it tops off a really relaxing trip to Penmon Priory and Black Point perfectly.

What a fantastic little cafe. We come here every time we come to Wales (at least 3 times a year). To us it has always been the same, great food and a fantastic welcome. The views are stunning and the scones with jam and cream are awesome.

As it was a scorching hot afternoon, we sought shade and refreshments before getting back in the car for the long drive back to our holiday accommodation. Two cups of tea shouldn't cost £5.50 unless they are excellent, and sadly they weren't. Unusually we were given a pot of tea and a pot of hot water (bonus points for this!), but the hot water wasn't hot. We could have got two cups each out of the pot but since we had added luke warm water, our second cups were grim. The milk had almost gone off too and had lumps floating around the edge.

Food was lovely as was the pub and the staff.cant fault it.my only gripe is the pub allowing dogs at the tables while you're trying to eat and all you can hear is barking..I'm a dog lover but I don't agree with dogs in a pub where people are eating and relaxing.

Going on the strength of other reviews, we booked a table in the dog friendly area of The Crown. Having had and a 2 hour walk beforehand, a well deserved refuelling stop. Quite chilly in that area of the pub. Cheap lunch menu. Specials board more expensive. We had Scampi & fries, small battered cod & chips. Both came with peas. I had much higher expectations and was disappointed in the portion size(5 scampi pieces). Would consider giving it another try sometime, go in the evening and dine in the restaurant area. Pay the more expensive dinner prices, in the hope that the food would not be cooked from frozen and the portion sizes would be satisfying.
