Just had a beef dinner for 9 pound, the price would be okay if they actually cooked the food. Got raw carrots raw roasters raw peas raw cauliflower in lukewarn cheese sauce lukewarm gravy The beef was okay but tiny portion size and there was more fat than beef. the only thing that was okay was the yorkshire pudding And the woman slicing the meat needs to have a better attitude to.her work, if you don't want to work there then dont. Will NOT be coming back

Gone massively downhill. 3 mixed meat full dinners & 2 small bottles of coke - £30. All veg was clearly out of a freezer including roasties & even the Yorkshire puddings. The mash had a weird taste, there was barely any meat, more cauliflower cheese than anything else - also had funny taste. Lady serving the meat seemed moody .. clearly didn’t want to be there. Not sure if they have changed hands but the place isn’t the same. Won’t go again.

Sandwich was dry and bang average and the lady serving us was a real delight...

Fantastic lunch, I had the meat and roasties with stuffing and cranberry! Absolutely loved it, meat was spot on and potatoes were really crispy! My partner had the full beef roast and said was lovely, We then got a coffee to go and it was really good. It was super affordable too compared to some other places in town: we will definitely be going back!

Had a pork roast with roast potatoes it was delicious. Husband had roast beef roll he says that was delicious too. Staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend this place.

Ive been unwell ,not eating the way i usually eat felt undernourished I went into Baxters , I was served by a friendly kind caring man , I took my beef dinner home , I so enjoyed ,the beef mash roastie veg cooked supeb , the dinner gave me back nourishment and the friendly man cheered me up Mr 🌈☀️

Returned to Baxters today for a quick lunch. Great roll with warm juicy beef and a cuppa. The beef was very nicely prepared, succulent with a really nice flavour. Good choice of meats and you could also have a roast dinner complete with roasties and gravy if you want. Take away or eat in. Great place for a quick lunch. Ate outside at the tables, nice on a dry day but watch out for the seagulls nesting overhead.

Been here a few times now and deffo be back bubble and squeak is a must!

Gorgeous Hot meat sarnies and Roast Dinners to take away.

First time eating at Baxters and what a discovery! Found in Aberdeen walk, the side street with Waterstones on the corner. Great choice of roast meals on the menu to take away and at honest prices. Hubby had the pork baguette and I had the beef roll, the meat was really tender and nicely cooked. We sat outside in the small seating area with a cup of tea. Really great lunch and we will definitely return. Staff pleasant and efficient.

I love baxters! I get myself a hot meat sandwich quite often and I continue to go back. The food is great the lads in there are lovely and the pay it forward feature is brilliant. However reading the reviews I dont think alone when I say I certainly think twice about coming in for my sandwich when that lady is serving. She's always been a bit rude to me whenever I've seen her.

The sandwich was absolutely lovely , but the woman behind the counter was a disgrace when trying to decide what I wanted she rolled her eyes at me and huffed for simply asking my husband what would you like , she was so rude when making the sandwich no smile or anything , there was a lovely woman at the till as for the older lady if you don't like people then don't work in customer service !!!!!

Visited Scarborough today with our dog. We couldn’t find anywhere to have lunch that was dog friendly, so were absolutely delighted to find Baxter’s, by chance. Turned out to be a fabulous find . We had roast pork baguette with apple sauce, roast beef with gravy baguette and a roast lamb, stuffing and mint sauce baguette, everything was delicious. The roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings on offer looked delicious too. All the staff were friendly and cheerful.I liked that there was a pay forward board, just added to the lovely atmosphere of the place. I thoroughly recommend this food stop.

I come here all the time on my lunch break for the roast pork bun and it is always excellent. The crackling is delicious and the meat is always cooked well. Fab with gravy, stuffing and cranberry.

Wow! Food was out of this world. Travelled from long distance to come back to this shop we missed before. Clearly the business puts food quality above everything else.. Your a credit to the community. Fairly priced with loads of flavour. Had the turkey baguette with stuffing and cranberry. Extra yourshires to down the beef gravy. All which needs singing from the rafters.. You will not be disappointed. Keep up the great work.

Ordered a mixed meat dinner wouldn’t say you get a decent slice of meat. pork and lamb was non existent got half a slice of beef lady carving wasn’t infact carving she was just scraping up what was in the bottom of the tray obviously trying to save as much meat as possible so they didnt have to keep cooking another joint.. lady looked in that much of a rush she couldn’t even look at you when speaking to her or even get a yes out of her when you’ve asked for something just silence yet her shirt said ‘be kind’ wasn’t very welcoming at all the cauliflower in the cauli cheese was rock hard not even cooked through, lumpy mash, carrots and peas taste like water, rubbish dinner all round tight portion, bad customer service not worth 8 quid also picked up a baguette for someone else no gravy or crackling offered hard baguette and dry. Waste of 15 quid

To my shame, this is the first time I have visited Baxters. It certainly won't be the last. Excellent service, wonderful food - hit the spot for a take out Sunday lunch. In difficult times (financially), this is great value for money. And no washing up - bonus! Love, love, love! Chef's kiss. 😘

Since moving premises gone downhill. Asked for lamb and gravy roll. Got the thinnest smear of gravy on bun. Times must be hard for them. Didn't realise gravy rationing was happening atm.

Baxters have now moved to the town end of Aberdeen Walk. Had the mixed meat roast with bubble and sqeek. All beautifully cooked, fantastic gravey and roast potatoes just like mother used to make. Friendly and helpful staff. Definitely worth a visit

Only just discovered this place and I don't know how I went so long without knowing where it is. Ordered Roast Beef and Roast Potatoes, Beef and gravy both tasted great! Nice bit of fat on the Beef added to the flavour. Potatoes were a bit overdone and chewy so needs a little bit of work but I still plan on returning.

Just had a lamb dinner from Filey all I can say is come back roasties give two star's as the meat was good so although not keen on the dinner will be trying the sandwich 🥪

We visited Scarborough today and decided to take a Roast dinner home for this evening, We have just had it and it was absolutely fantastic.xx Now worth buying a joint of meat and all the trimmings. A proper home cooked Sunday lunch. Great friendly staff. Would Highly Recommend...

Our teenage son went on and on about Baxters so we decided to try it out. Absolutely amazing food! We've had sandwiches and the roast dinner boxes too many times to count now. Always tastes amazing and the meat is always delicious. All meals are at a great price too. Highly recommend this place!

A visit back home to Scarborough isn't complete without stopping off at Baxter's! Highly recommend!

Visited Sunday 16th February. A large choice of hot sandwiches on offer. Try the mixed meat hot sandwich. Excellent service the two staff in the shop were excellent. Best I've ever had. We need a Baxters in Doncaster.

The meats are obviously good but the veg is boiled to death. They give you the food in a polystyrene container. It then tastes like polystyrene! Use a card box or something!

The sandwich was absolutely amazing may I just say But the miserable blonde lady who was serving was a disgrace to customer service- not even a Hello on entry as for asking whether I would like stuffing or crackling on my sandwich was “do you want” “not would you like” A young man came out the back to take my money - with a lovely smile and a thank you I would return for a sandwich- but check through window first she’s not serving don’t want putting off before started again Seem like reading reviews back and maybe many more if time was taken to write a review- the lady has NEVER changed attitude I suggest she works elsewhere !!!

Fancied a change from my usual work lunch so decided to try Baxters. Ended up with turkey, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, cauliflower cheese, carrot, peas, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy. OMG I was so full I couldn't eat it all. The meat fell apart, it was amazing! Really nice guys working in there too and at just over a fiver it was a bargain. More or less what I normally pay every day for a sandwich and crisps from M&S. I'll definitely be back!

An impulse buy whilst wandering around Scarborough, all they had left was roast potatoes and gravy. At £2, the portion was a bargain and it was the ultimate winter comfort food

I stopped off to get a sandwich, I chose gammon, which was a generous portion served in a soft floury bread bun. Also on offer were other meat sandwiches, and complete lunches with meat, mashed or roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese etc. It all looked freshly made and appetising.

bought a lunch in a box on sunday 6th oct on my my way home. cold and wet ideal if can't be bothered to cook .price is right food is brilliant hot and fresh and delicious.their bagettues are yummy too .staff are nice and polite.can't go wrong with this takeaway.

Delicious freshly roasted meats carved to order for sandwiches and take-away platters. I had the roast pork on a baguette with apple compote, stuffing, and crackling and it was superb. They also offer roast turkey, gammon, beef, and Yorkshire puddings. Highly recommended for a grab and go bite!

Tough meat, hard roast potatoes, lumpy gravy, wasn't impressed.

Every time we visit Scarborough we have to get a roast dinner from Baxter’s, sometimes more than one! The roast dinner in a box is delicious, the meat is cooked perfectly and I particularly love the mash and cauliflower cheese, it is just like a proper home cooked roast. If you’re not hungry enough for a box then the meat cobs (bap/roll) are also delicious. With stuffing and a choice of sauce, they are also very filling! Baxter’s is definitely worth a trip if you are in Scarborough, would highly recommend, we have never been disappointed!

13-06-2019. Called by for a pork sandwich. woman serving looked like she sucked lemons as a full-time job, about as welcoming as a kick in the backside. The pork, on the other hand, was lovely which is more than can be said for the bread bun surrounding it, I have never had bread break up in my hand when fresh, "query fresh". won't be going again

Great concept but I was a bit disappointed. Roast dinner and can of pop is ok value though for £7.85The gammon was fatty and chewy, but the turkey was ok. However the gravy was watery and served with cold veg and stuffing. Roast potatoes were nice. Probs wouldn’t bother again

What a great place to get well cooked takeaway food. Whether you want a bacon sandwich, or a full Sunday meal, then this is the place to go. The roast meat baguettes are great value and the meat is always delicious. The staff are friendly, and helpful. The food is stored hygienically and the building looks well kept and clean. We love it .

I needed a quick bite to eat after some voluntary work. I felt I needed something more substantial than a Greggs pasty but not as heavy as a full meal from Wetherspoons so gave Baxter’s a try as I walked by - and I’m glad I did. The meat is steamed rather than roast but really juicy and tasty and there are optional additions (included in price) like stuffing, horseradish, mustard, etc. The friendly, helpful staff were very keen to ensure I was well satisfied. This is not fine dining, but it doesn’t pretend to be so - good, honest, tasty food at an affordable price.

Sandwich shops selling hot roast meat in a bun/barm/roll (delete where appropriate) are quite common these days. But this delightful place goes beyond that!

First visit today after it was recommended by a friend to try out. Had a lamb roast dinner to take away. Sensational. Really well cooked meat and a good portion size. You will not go hungry here! Lol great stuff. Keep up the good work. Like my reviews people 👌

Went here today for a ‘Full Roast Dinner in a box’ it looked so nice as it was being made. The guy in there was so lovely. Just tucked in and i can honestly say that was AMAZIN. Defo would recommend to everyone.

Ive been in the meat industry for 36 years selling fresh raw meat and cooked food,eg roast chickens,hot sandwiches.ect,while on holiday i found this shop and me my wife and son spent about 20 quid on our lunch,it was amaizing we had lamb,and roast pork all on fresh bread,this family need to expand there business because the quality of service and product are second to none,people you need to eat there,quality

It's not often you find delicious dinners to grab on the go! Meat cooked wonderfully, and the gravy was perfection.

go walking every 4 weeks or so and always end up here for a deliciious butty. who said the amount of meat and taste has changed. no way no way. keep up the the good work. suggest try the bubble and squeek.

I have been to Baxters a few times when go with me fiance and we have a pork or a beef sandwich with a piece of pork scratching it a nice place for a take away

We used to get so much meat in our buns and so much more extra, but somethings has changed and the food doesn't seem to have flavour no more and am getting less meat than usual and not enough source.

Each time we visit Scarborough, we pop in to Baxter's for a freshly carved meat sandwich. They have freshly cooked, hot roasted joints of meat in the window all ready to carve and pop into some delicious bread or, if you wish, you can take home a full roast dinner as they have all the freshly cooked vegetables and Yorkshire Puddings too. The meats are melt in the mouth delicious. The staff friendly and the establishment clean. Everyone needs a meat fix at Baxter's

Too late for lunch in s pub and came across Baxters. We had a roast pork sandwich and I had a roast dinner with out meat. Everything was cooked to perfection & the pork was so tender Would definitely recommend Good value

What a brilliant find this place was just a few doors down from jd weathspooons, the roast sandwiches are to die for and at a very reasonable price you can also get a a full roast dinner and we will definitely be back the next time we are in Scarborough.
