Battysbaps in Highland

We went in with 2 dogs and sat at a table for 2. We were asked to move to a table accros the cafe as we were not at a dog friendly table. No problem. The table was being cleared for us and a man came in with a dog and sat at the table. The waitress didn’t say anything to him. I challenged him but he didn’t move, another customer offered to move but we were embarrassed . No other dog friendly tables were available so we left.

I stopped for some homemade soup and a coffee and the soup was delicious and the coffee hit the spot. Great friendly fast service.

We stopped in because it looked local and cozy. We were super travel-weary and needed a little comfort and caffeine. We had toasties (coronation chicken and garlic chicken), cups of soup, and a delicious cup of coffee (and tea). Service and staff were lovely, and we left feeling much better than when we arrived! Thanks for a satisfying meal!

Excellent traditional Scottish breakfast staff were really nice and polite. Cakes were all home made and looked delicious

Turned up with 12 lads for breakfast food was lovely and served fast all staff were lovely and friendly I would recommend the carot cake for afterwards it is very nice 👍

Waited quite a while for our food which was mediocre. Went to pay at the end, at the tills the staff were all stood with their backs to customers and had to wait to pay until they noticed we were actually there. Then when we got to the till we were informed no card, cash only as the card machine was broken. At the time of arrival the cafe door was open so we didn’t notice the small sign on the door which whilst we were waiting for cash to be brought to us by another family member a staff member rudely remarked “well there was a sign on the door” to the other staff. When I went back to the till to pay I informed staff we didn’t see the sign on the door as it was open and one staff member agreed the waitress should’ve told us when ordering. Please have more clear signage. It seems younger staff don’t have a clue what they’re doing.

Best breakfast we’ve had in a long time served by the kind of staff you want, happy and helpful . Food was cooked fresh to order and portions were very generous

Fantastic little cafe. Ordered the baked potato with coronation chicken fantastic amount of filling. Partner had the medium breakfast he was very delighted with the size of the portions. Definitely be back

What a great spot to find for a quick business lunch. Girls welcomed us directed us to table as table service. They where very busy but got our order quickly. Told 15- 20 min wait but would get refill if drinks on them- brilliant customer service Food came quicker than allocated time . I had the Parwich wow some feast , got a to go box as failed to finish. But not that needed but took some of their lovely homemade cakes home as wow what a selection First class girls will definitely return with the family

Fab little cafe situated on Dingwall high street. Stopped by for a quick breakfast on our way up north with my husband and granddaughter. We ordered two small breakfast and a ‘belly buster’ (amazing value must I add!) We clearly weren’t prepared for the generous sized portions as my husband had to box and take most of his belly buster with us! Coffees were simply gorgeous and my granddaughter enjoyed a strawberry milkshake with cream - service was fantastic as the girls just made us giggle the whole time we were in, their banter is refreshing for a cafe / restaurant! Will recommend to anyone local or coming through Dingwall, can’t wait for another trip up north just to stop by!! Thanks to batty and her girls!!

We had a delicious breakfast very tasty. My husbands vegetarian option was delicious and he was very impressed. All good quality and cooked very well. Ordered brown toast bread which was good quality bread. We understand that the food is sourced locally.We will be returning on a regular basis.

When asking for 2 bacon baps, was given a dirty look by the woman at the till who said “it’s called a roll” when the place is literally called Battys baps!!! Then forgot the drinks so was just stood with two bacon “rolls” like a lemon. Very poor customer service, barely any sauce and the bacon was still oinking. Rolls were dry. Staff were rude and fart arsing about instead of doing their job properly. Work ethic was poor. I’m sure the manager was lovely but the younger members of staff are awful.

Had the medium breakfast. I can eat, but that was some breakfast. Everything you expect from a full English but then the full Scottish kicked in with white pudding and tatie scones on top. Not too familiar with white pudding but I’m going to be, it was the star of the show. Also really lovely staff. All in all a great experience.

Had a really lovely breakfast today, they even catered to us changing what we wanted to eat. Would highly recommend 👍💜

I saw the name in trip advisor, and the, with Halloween fast approaching, it seemed appropriate, nay, essential, to pay a visit while passing through Dingwall. The Halloween glow up did not disappoint, with an array of pumpkins and spooky decorations festooned all around this cosy cafe. Our brunch got off to a great start with a visit for, Morgan, the neighbours spaniel, in search of a treat. Morgan, and her sister, were each given a carrot (cheaper than a sausage, they said, although I bet there is sausage sometimes). We each chose a breakfast roll (or ‘bap’, because, “when in Rome…”) and a coffee, I opted for bacon and hash-brown with a flat white, while a Scottish born and bred hubby chose lorne square sausage with a mocha. The food was superb but the coffee…. Well, that was completely outstanding, silky smooth and velvety - absolutely perfect. We took some mint aero cheesecake back to our daughter, who had opted out of the trip in favour of a lie-in - more fool her - and she said that was good too, which is high praise indeed from someone who would rather sleep than visit a place called Bath’s Baps just because it’s near Halloween.

Not hard to locate but looks a bit shabby on the outside. Personnel is very nice and friendly. The Scottish breakfast is good and is served with a nice haggis and black pudding. They also serve a wide range of coffees. Every item in the breakfast can be swapped for an other item, although it has to be 'meat for meat' or 'vegetable for vegetable' Vegetarian options are available.

Best breakfast in the area. Great locally produced food, pleasant staff, great value for money. Can’t ask for more than that! I’ll definitely be back.

Fantastic place for breakfast on the go ahead of a day in the mountains. Bacon and egg rolls, coffee, and even now doing bubble tea for the kids. A must if visiting Dingwall!

We were looking for a lunch and Battys was our choice and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent l had a chilli chicken wrap which was made to order, fresh and full of succulent flavour. My partner opted for a cheese salad roll which was delicious. We rounded up with 2 fresh strawberry tarts washed down with hot drinks. If you are ever in Dingwall please give "Battys" a try, you definitely won't be disappointed

My son and I stopped here for lunch. We enjoyed eating at an outside table with umbrella to keep the sun off. The waitress was very helpful helping me select gluten free options. I had the coronation chicken on a baked potato and it was fantastic! My son enjoyed his food as well. The ambiance was fun and friendly. It seemed like locals and visitors alike gather here. As a dog lover I enjoyed seeing the “pups” there as well. Good food and good vibes!

The staff are lovely and cope really well with the large group we bring in, giving us a coach menu that gets us back on the road with lots of very satisfied customers.

Took the fam for lunch today got a Fry up and was delighted to get a caramel frap 😁 food was spot on will definitely be back 👍 #highlandfoodies

Excellent value and super friendly staff. Would definitely pop in when next in Dingwall. How busy the place is just shows how good their product is.

Had the best white pudding and sausage roll in here. Wife had bacon egg roll absolutely brilliant, great friendly service and felt very relaxed, 1st time visit but not last.

If anyone wanted to know how to treat customers and deliver incredible customer service then go to Battysbaps. All the staff are incredibly helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The food was first rate and delivered with a huge Highland smile. I had a party of 4 men on a sporting weekend for which we had little time to wait around for food. We didn’t have to worry. The girls produced the food in full and on time. What a gem of a place. If I lived nearer I would go there every week. Well done girls keep it up

Popped in for a quick lunch when passing through. Not much else open especially with a sit in option during these covid times on a cold sleety day. Great value for an excellent home made soup and very welcoming. These ladies deserve to do well.

What an excellent service from Battys Baps, contacted Pamalla at 5pm yesterday regarding a small buffet for a birthday today seen as we can't go and eat out and WOW, she has done an fantastic job. Plenty choice & Delivery was spot on, highly recommended

We get a big order for the workforce ring it in, it is always ready on time and a reasonable price. The food is really good, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I would recommend that everybody try battys baps.

The Belly Buster Breakfast is just so good. Mind you, so is everything else. Good food, really friendly folk.

was in with my wife for lunch and it was absolutely superb, best burger I've had in a long time and local beef aswel. I would recommend to anyone great food. also staff are very friendly and great crack 10/10

Was so happy to see Battys Baps open up again on 15th June, was first in line for a delicious breakfast and one of their fantastic coffees! Very reassuring in these times to see the girls cleaning very thoroughly on my visit, and they definately seemed to have a good organised and efficient system going. Cant recommend enough, great food and great banter from such friendly staff!

the service was horrible the staff were rude for someone who lives in the area I do not recommend it the food is decently priced but the food is horrible

We always seem to go around brunch time and enjoy the five item breakfast rolls at a price that others provide only one or two items. We would not go for price only but the quality is faultless. We enjoy a natter when we meet up so we are not bothered if the freshly cooked food takes longer than precooked, luke warm, dried out items served at other places. Looking forward to eating outside in the summer.

we went in for a late breakfast, the food was very good and the ladies working were also lovely. Very reasonable prices too so all in all good experience.

Asked a young man in Aldi, seeing how he was local. “Bettysbaps” was the reply. So I duely went. Boy was I glad I did. What a fantastic group of girls that own/work there. I just wanted a medium cup of coffee, now with this “1 or 2 shots, you cannot always get it right. These girls got it soooooo right. And the sandwich,only egg and tomato, my favourite since my childhood,it was like a three course meal. Don’t walk past, go in and try it. I’m so glad I did.

Popped in after being recommended. Tried one of the homemade turkey and black pudding burgers which was in the weekly special menu. Best burger I've had in ages. Meat supplied by local award winning butchers. Staff were so friendly and helpful and the place was full of giggles and laughter!

Three of the four of us had the Full Monty breakfast roll which was like a mini breakfast for an unbelievable £3.80 - almost half the price of a “garden centre”. The food was nicely cooked and the staff were very friendly and provided an excellent service. There is indoor and covered outdoor seating. Menu included jacket potatoes, paninis, and baguettes plus other items. Will definitely go again.

Good locally sourced food, some of it award winning. In the style of an American diner with Scottish specialities thrown in. Fairly extensive menu with nice coffee. Apparently can get busy during school term but that is the only downside, if you want peace and quiet. Friendly affable staff

A good late breakfast that filled a hole for both of us. The staff were friendly and and adapted the meal to our liking, and it was tasty and left us feeling comfortable. The coffee was good too, and the seagulls stayed away so the atmosphere was friendly even with the locals. Excellent value for money.

A wide variety of foods available. All served swiftly and efficiently . Good selection of hot and cold drinks available.

We went in here as our granddaughter was hungry and grumpy. The staff couldn't have been nicer to us and delivered our food to us quickly, ensuring that our small person received her first. Very friendly and funny staff.

We stopped for breakfast on a sunday and must admit, partly because of the name and the fact it was open, decided to take a look. We had a nice welcome and couldn't believe the value for money. I had a small breakfast which was huge! My boyfriend had a large which was massive!! A good range on the late from black pudding to larne sausage. We were well and truly full after that! Would recommend diverting off the usual road to Inverness and have a hearty breakfast or snack here. Will be back when I can!

8 of us called in for lunch on a wet and windy day when we were doing our Land’s End to John O Groats cycling trip. Lovely welcome, fab service and the soup and rolls were delicious!

Visited here this morning for a quick breakfast. Opted for a bacon and egg roll and a black pudding roll. The egg was from a local producer. One of the tastiest eggs I've had in a long time. Bacon and black pudding from local butchers. Nice coffee too. Staff welcoming and chatty. Will definitely visit again.

I cant fathom how folk can buy those god awful ready made sandwiches that you see in supermarkets when there is establishments like Battys baps about. I got a ham salad sandwich and it was tasty and fresh, and it was also cheaper than those supermarket sandwiches.. So my advice drop those stale supermarket sandwich, prepared by some unknown person in some unknown location and get yourself a proper one and go to Battys baps.

We popped in for a couple of baps/rolls and a drink. Service was quick, the price was good and so was the food. What more can you ask for.

My partner and I popped in to have some lunch the women didn’t greet us at all and was very rude... wouldn’t recommend it..

I ordered the Breakfast and Tomato Toastie for my Mum which she loves. The food was very nice. The Staff a bit Vague, but then again this is Dingwall - they spent more time talking to their friends/Family but never even asked me if I wanted anything else. I do recommend though because the Breakfast was nice.

Called in today whilst on holiday . Staff very friendly came and gave our dog a treat . Massive hot dogs Makes a change getting great service

Looks nice from the outside but the smell of greasy cooking was overwhelming and could do with some cooker hoods. The cook Fried an egg in a pan that was above eye level and swimming in grease

We stopped off here as it was the first place we saw on the High Street that catered for gluten free. My wife is gluten free and son stays away from milk and once explained the friendly staff have us our options and both had an excellent sandwich. I on the other hand had a bacon and egg roll which I would place in the top three of all time bacon and egg rolls I've had. (I do like my bacon rolls). We were so impressed we returned the next day for a quick lunch again.

Lovely fresh and very filling sandwich. Great choices from baked potato to panini and baguettes . All made to order and exactly how you like it !! Quick efficient service and great value for money. Great lunch time treat at everyday prices 10/10

Easy to find, and lovely staff. Great place to stop for a quick snack, and wheelchair accessible. Had plenty of locals in it, which is always a good sign!

My first experience was just popping in off the street for a quick coffee and a sandwich, which may seem pretty mundane, and probably not worth writing about..

Sandwiches are really good value for money. Wide choice of fillings. Staff always pleasant and efficient

Place was quiet when we entered for a late lunch snack on a Sunday afternoon, there isnt many shops open on a Sunday so we ordered two giant hotdogs (microwaved) for the kids from Batty's. After putting ketchup onto their rolls and we left the shop but just as we got outside the kids bit into their meal and complained that there was something green inside the hotdogs. I went straight back into the shop to explain to the staff and although she was apologetic enough, she claimed they were in still in date and fresh. She couldnt offer an explanation it as to why they were part green inside but I noticed as she went to replace them that the jar that the hot dogs were stored in looked absolutely disgusting - the brine water was so cloudy you couldn't see thru it, it was also the large hotdogs you buy in the jar for a £1 which the shop then microwave to sell for £2.50 each.

Nice food good prices only downside is size .I'm sure if bigger place to sit in and eat the place would do well . Well done on the good work .

Batty'sbaps did a buffet for our family reunion and it was excellent. lots of different sanwhiches and snacks plenty choices and lot's of it. very pleased with price as well.

Popped in for lunch as like to try different places. Greeted by friendly chatty welcoming staff. They cater more for the takeaway trade but there is seating in and out if needed. Soup is served in polystyrene cup and the sandwich is freshly made. Pity they don't have a tea pot for those sitting in but it all was fine. The menu is limited but the price is very good. For basic cheap friendly quick lunch then this is the place.

This is a small business which does filled rolls and sandwiches etc. They appear very busy and supply and deliver to local businesses although you can call in yourself and get a sandwich made fresh with the filling of your choice.
