Bathampton Mill in Bath and North East Somerset

Food arrived tepid after waiting an hour, did not have time to complain and reorder hot food. Would expect better as not cheap to eat there, also when requesting cutlery, we were told by rather miserable girl server, It's over there in the cupboard

There was only one vegan option (apart from salad). On the menu on reviews there was “vegan burger” which was not in the actual menu. Is being inclusive that much hard?

Reservamos el molino de Bathampton para una cena especial de celebración. Estaba claramente demasiado ocupado en un buen día soleado y no deberían haber tomado reservas ya que no podían hacer frente. Esperábamos 15 minutos para sentarnos, otra media hora para que nos tomaran la orden (y solo después de que pilláramos a una camarera corriendo) , tuvimos que pedir 3 veces agua, otros 20 minutos para bebidas, y 40 minutos entre que nuestros entrantes terminaban y los platos principales llegaban, todos con nosotros teniendo que perseguir al personal desgastado en cada etapa de nuestra comida. La camarera estaba tan apurada que prácticamente tiró el ketchup que habíamos tenido que pedir 3 veces a la mesa. Nadie nos controlaba y no éramos las únicas personas que podíamos escuchar quejándonos. Había una cola de gente en el bar toda la noche con un solo camarero, y solo cierto personal podía recibir órdenes o dar la cuenta, lo que significaba largas esperas para todo. La comida era buena, pero nuestra experiencia significa que no queríamos esperar para el postre (no es que se ofreció) y no volveríamos. Lo cual es una pena, ya que anteriormente siempre estaba en algún lugar que reservaríamos para un regalo. La dirección debe cerrar las reservas cuando sabe que estará ocupado (es decir, cuando salga el sol! ) o tener más personal para compensar. Arruinó lo que debía ser una velada especial.

waiting more than an hour for a simple pizza. its wednesday afternoon so they aint even that busy. no way it takes more than an hour bruh 🙏

No hemos comido en el molino durante un tiempo, pero nos sorprendió muy gratamente e impresionado con la comida, el estándar ha subido y los precios eran razonables. El restaurante reformado es muy agradable y el personal es amable.

Hemos estado en el molino de Bathampton mucho, pero nuestra visita del domingo pasado fue tan decepcionante! Las camareras que tuvimos eran excelentes y la ubicación y el interior son preciosos, pero la comida simplemente no estaba a la altura de los estándares habituales. La porción de risotto era demasiado pequeña, y la mitad de pollo de asado estaba seco y la presentación de ella era horrible. Llevamos a mis padres por primera vez y nos dio vergüenza. Muy caro para el estándar de la comida que teníamos!

Had fab food and was an overall great atmosphere. The server Izzy was amazing so helpful with all our needs and so friendly. Highly recommend!

Grounds are superb, and the food was tasty. Some portions way larger than others, but all priced fairly high. Service was poor though, and given the cost paid (£300 by our group) no table service, not even clearing the glasses or plates after food. Staff were friendly, but either stretched or just not their jobs to do anything but pour drinks and deliver food. Bit disappointing.

Went for a catch up with some family, staff were incredible especially Izzy. So lovely and went above and beyond to make our visit the best possible. Food was nothing to boast about but, we left well fed.

me and the kids came for lunch and a cheeky pint or two, the food was incredible but what really stood out was the spectacular service. our server, izzy, was a delight and quite the beauty aswell.

Atendido por Farida que era absolutamente la camarera más agradable y genial! Hizo que el cumpleaños de mi pareja fuera el mejor y estamos muy agradecidos por ello. Lamentablemente, las porciones de comida eran más pequeñas de lo esperado, pero la encantadora personalidad y el servicio de Farida compensaron la falta de brillo de la comida.

I had an amazing time especially my server who was called Maya did an amazing job of bringing a great atmosphere always being friendly to me and my friends and constantly checking up on us to see how everything was I would definetely recommend going there and I know I will be going again soon!

The vegetable was cold already when the steak ale pie was served. There was no slow-cook pulled beef in the dirty burger as it should be per the menu and it's not really slow-cook pulled beef, more like mince beef.

Bathampton mill is a lovely location, steeped in the ambience of its history. It's a lovely spot. The beer selection is fairly limited, but the Taylor's Landlord is well kept and very drinkable. The food offering has been a bit of a mixed bag, though - I've been served some disappointingly mediocre dishes in the times I've been there. There's clearly some competence going on in the kitchen, but it just isn't consistent. It's not been busy when I've been there, and it's gastro-priced enough to expect that every dish is prepared with appropriate care, but I don't feel this has been the case. Having said that, I've had some good meals there too, especially starters and desserts. I'd worry about the tourist trap syndrome negatively affecting standards further in the summer.

Overpriced and very poor. Risotto was inedible. They offered something else but didn't trust anything after that. Can't get the weird taste out of my mouth.

The billionaire fries were absolutely delicious but rather a small portion so overpriced. I ordered a super green salad but it was not fresh at all and didn’t have all the ingredients listed so I had to send it back as I couldn’t eat it. I then ordered a goats cheese starter which was scrumptious. The beer was warm unfortunately. The place is beautiful and the staff were friendly.

Popped in for a quick pint and grub. Helpful staff. Great location by the river. Food was OK. Would come again.

Food was good eventually but service was poor

Went there today 25th of December 2023 for a Christmas lunch it was 4 course I was amazed how big the portions were I must admit at one stage I was struggling to clear my plate all of the staff done a excellent job it was packed out if you love your food I would recommend the mill you won't be disappointed since they've had a refit lots of things have improved excellent service great atmosphere and excellent food well done to all of the staff

We came for lunch today, the staff were in helpful and miserable - we weren’t given cutlery so my partner went to ask and after some time was told “There’s some over there and gestured to a cupboard” where he retrieved the cutlery, our mains took ages and for the price, were average. the burger was missing bacon and the steak was more rare when asked to be cooked medium to well! Also cost us both ways on the bridge due to closed road.. will definitely never return!!!

The facts: Service - 1 hour 30 minutes to get main course following order. 20 minutes to remove plates after finishing starters. Price - £8 for two croquettes!?! Availability - party of six, two people were able to have the meal they wanted. Menu items wanted had sold out by 19:00. Booking - labelled as “walk-ins” on the receipt despite having a booking. Table wasn’t ready on arrival. The subjective: Atmosphere - incredibly hot. Service - chaotic, confused, slow, inattentive. Food - average. No pulled beef in £20 burger. Croquettes were small in size, quantity and were £8. Verdict: It’s crap. Don’t bother.

The waiting staff were so attentive and friendly (especially Farida). The food was a little disappointing. The starter of cheddar cheese with mushrooms we did not expect that to be some kind of soup. The strawberry and rhubarb crumble was also very gloopy and soup like. I've never know a crumble to be so wet. The green side order which said samphire had not one piece of samphire, and the other veg had been so overcooked the brocolli no longer looked green, but grey. The main course took a very long time to come (over 35 minutes!) So at this point we couldn't be bothered to send anything back or complain. Usually very impressed at this place but not this time; maybe because it was midweek???

We were greeted by Adrian with an open smile and relaxed manner. It was a work meeting in the bar, the table had been reserved as requested and he set up the tab quickly and efficiently. He had a gentle sense of humour and met all our needs - thank you Adrian ! No. 137

Great Sunday Lunch Fantastic Setting & Wonderful Riverside Walk Afterwards

The mushroom risotto, the sticky chicken, and the prawn chorizo crab scallop were absolutely delightful. They were seasoned perfectly and the scallop was literally melt in your mouth. The Halloumi fries were hands down the best I've ever eaten in my entire life, so fresh and tasty. Absolutely would recommend 10/10. Special shoutout to our server Farida and the chef Murat who we heard was new to making the main courses (you could not tell that at all with the quality of the food). I would of written a review regardless but a free meal is an incentive! My ticket number is 35

Served by Sid, she was lovely and helpful, and looked after us so well despite it being a busy Sunday lunch!

What a shambles !!! Given menus when order being taken half of food run out - why the hell weren’t we told or taken off menu Sent steaks back as food cold then obviously had been put in microwave or back on grill as when brought back steak tough & well done - asked for medium rare !!!! These steaks were costing £ 30 😳 Then had to search four tables for salt all salt cellars empty As we were leaving I went to toilet to find excrement floating in bowl told bar man who said he’d pass information on !!! An Other table had sent meals back too Steaks were taken off bill but I felt really uncomfortable with complaining as general I’m pretty easy going believe it or not 🤪 The young Resturant staff were very sweet but obviously found it difficult to deal with complaints bless x Did tip waiting staff

Overpriced poor quality food. The fish and halloumi and chips batter was pale and soggy, the pastry on the pie was like a brick, small portions. Artisan bread was £7 and was basically white toast only toasted on one side. Definitely wouldnt recommend. Very expensive drinks and food don't waste your money

An enjoyable experience including the ' meet and greet' we received, table service and, quality of facilities Prices appear to be on line with those in the Bath area. Great outside setting / facilities when the weather permits. Recommend booking in advance.

We came for lunch with my husband. Food except the steak I ordered medium rare came rare , everything else was good. I was impressed with our waiter. He was exceptionally kind and professional. Why I don't give five stars, because he worked at the bar and at the same time took our order, made the drinks and didn't even have time to ask how the food was, which is the fault of the management team. In the restaurant where another 6-7 tables, which make to provide good service for the price of the menu you have impossible. Thank you Adrian you were great!!!

All food was excellent, with attentive staff too. Didn’t take too long for anything. Would say the desserts were a little pricey, if I was being picky!

Very good dinner. 3 courses that was very well cooked and nice presentation. Something for all tastes and budgets with specials also available. Service was attentive but not over the top. Location is fab just outside of town next to the river. We went back the next day for a drink so we could take in the scenery in daylight. Great atmosphere, top service, would recommend.

We ate there at 3.30 on the way to 7.00 theatre in Bath so quiet as expected. We had scallops and calamari to start. 4 large delicious scallops served with crispy pancetta. Probably one of the best starters Ive ever had and we eat out a little. Followed by orawn and scallop linguine with chorizo. Absoldelicious. My husband had belly of pork which he said was fantastic. We shared a sticky toffee pudding which did not disappoint. Altogether a superb diding experience. Couldnt fault it.

Farida was a brilliant hostess, and the food was delicious. We had the Dine with Wine menu, and it was all absolutely lovely. We will be back!

Great location by the river. My 1st visit and a little disappointed that they weren't doing pizza, which limited my choices as I'm a non meat eater. Chose fish and chips, and while the fish was perfect, chips were a little hard still. Overall though, a pleasant meal.

Popped into Bathampton Mill after a lovely walk along the river for a couple of drinks and some picky bits of food. We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff called Adrian who sat us by the gorgeous open fire and he looked after us throughout. I would recommend this establishment and would like to thank Adrian for making us feel so welcome. 🙂

Oh dear. As many reviews on here say, drinks are good and bar staff friendly but the food is diabolical! Not sure why the manager bothers to reply to these negative reviews about this same issue but never does anything to fix it - like firing the kitchen staff and hiring good ones led by a qualified and experienced chef. Ordered a sharing roast. They’d run out of chicken so said they would replace that with extra beef but didn’t. Plates to eat the roast from were far too small. Had to ask for the gravy and cauliflower cheese as it failed to materialise after 5 minutes. Roast potatoes tasteless, Yorkshire pudding dry and overdone, gravy tasted like Bisto / from a packet, crackling chewy and inedible, not crunchy. £50 down the drain. Totally over priced. The only positives are front of house staff, drinks, dog friendly, they had a table available and the large free car park. Also if approaching from Bath you have to pay a £1 toll each way to cross the private bridge along from the pub. Live in Bath but won’t be visiting again.

Great pub, and the food was delicious. Set against the river, there is a large car park and outside seating for alfresco eating. It was dark when I visited, so I didn't get a feel for the whole outside area. The prices were reasonable, surprised to see 20% vat on the bill. However well worth a visit.

Really lovely pub by the river, amazing food and friendly staff. Dog friendly in the bar area which is handy if you're stopping for some food on a walk.

After my morning dog walk, I decided to pop in for a quick coffee. From the moment I stepped inside, I felt so comfortable and welcomed that I couldn’t resist staying for lunch. Lucy greeted me at the door with a warm smile and took great care of me throughout my visit. When my steak sandwich arrived cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. Oliver the barman, poured a perfect Guinness to go with it. The combination of great service, delicious food, and a stunning riverside setting made for an unforgettable experience. I’ll definitely be back soon! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food, friendly staff, and a relaxed atmosphere.

I so love Bathampton Mill, beautiful location - anytime of year and such a lovely ambiance . Lovely attentive bartender Adrian. Gorgeous and delicious crab king prawn linguine.

Headed to the place straight after a 13 hour shift and was welcomed warmly by staff working. Food was good, worth the price. But the staff on shift (11/01/25, 9pm) were really good and accommodating. Shoutout to Trese who was really lovely.
