So we arrived on a bus from Chippenham and the bus there. Was easy as, but trying to get the bus back - OMG it’s confusing! The maps don’t direct you correctly, it’s. Not clear and unacceptable! I can’t believe the amount of stress I had to go through to find the bud stop! We ended up having to get a taxi which is a lot more expensive and unnecessary!!

Use the train (if they’re not on strike) or don’t bother. We went to Bath to pick up something we had bought on marketplace. It turns out we would have to pay £9 for 10mins in the clean air zone. The blurb suggests if you are a small motorhome you can get exemption. After an hour on the phone (including one call where we were given an incorrect number to call), it turns out you can get it reduced from the regular £100 charge for a motorhome to just £9. The experience would put me off returning for sightseeing.

Bath is a beautiful and posh city to visit, which is historic and nice place to relax. You have the roman baths and abbey church opposite to each other. Lovely shopping areas and good choice of places to eat. On my visit i managed to get car parking, as some hotels do not have parking, so finding car park is a challenge. I think public transport would be better choice to travel there. You have the lovely riverside with boats trips and garden area.

Bath has some lovely sights and the architecture is fantastic. We visited for 2 days so was a quick trip by some peoples standards. What we found was by day the centre is busy with people which is great, and it’s a great place to walk around. By night it has a different feel to it. There are a lot of transient people and doorways taken up with drinking and congregating. It’s always sad to see folks with no homes to go to and we felt that. Nonetheless it felt a bit uncomfortable and there was no getting away from that, we had our son with us and he was a little on edge.

Went to Bath for my 60th Birthday to visit Roman Baths, it was in my bucket list. Have just received a fine of £69 for driving into Bath, as apparently this is a ommissions zone. There was no notices anywhere to say we were entering a zone, so this came as quite a shock to receive a fine. I have paid the fine but will not be going back there. Just thought I should let others know when going into Bath.. Beware!

Great visit to a wonderful city with lots to see and do BUT the closure of the Cleveland Bridge, which is widely recorded on social media, is very poorly marked when you’re in flowing traffic approaching from the south. It took us over 40 minutes to get to a car park adjacent to the city centre. When we left, it took us 8 minutes to be away from traffic. They’re simply isn’t enough alternative route signs when approaching from the south. When we finally arrived, they were scores of parking spaces but we nearly gave up and turned round. I would add that this is only the second time I’ve written a negative report on TripAdvisor in 10 years but if you’re patient enough, the city centre is absolutely amazing.

Food is okay and good atmosphere, but definitely horrible service. Most of the waiters don’t know what they’re doing, and it takes forever for them to come to take your order.

I have a pet peeve against staff being dressed down in front of the public by management, but unfortunately that is what happened while we were at The Garrick. It doesn’t matter how good the food and drink is if you’re going to sit in complete discomfort after a grumpy manager has a very loud go at a young waitress just because she made a mistake. We don’t care about mistakes as we like being served by humans; we don’t like when bullies cause the same young girl to almost cry while being shouted at mere feet away from us while we try to enjoy our food (though I don’t think this should happen behind the scenes either, of course.) From reading another review, I see this is not a one-off incident. Not worth the awful atmosphere.

Desafortunadamente, han convertido lo que solía ser un espacio encantador en algo realmente hortera e insípido con manteles de plástico y una decoración en general realmente horrible. ¡También estaba CONGELANDO! De ninguna manera podrías sentarte sin un abrigo.

Popped in for breakfast as we were in the area visiting family. The morning staff and Manager were lovely and welcoming. The food was good, fresh and hot. Good value for money. Will definitely be visiting again.
