Called in for coffee and cake. Ordered a slice of cake to share plus tea and coffee. We were advised by the server that they didn't offer sharing plates and thatcwe would have to manage with one plate, knife and serviette. Dreadful and unwelcoming service. The area around the cafe was shabby with rusty chairs and weedy. Shame as the cake was nice. You have totally missed the point with your aggressive rant. I never want something for nothing but to offer to cut the cake in half would have cost nothing. Some customers like myself suffer with diabetes and need to limit their sugar intake. It's not about something for nothing. We would have gladly paid a little extra if requested. It was the nasty attitude of the staff member who served us that caused me to write. The different lady who served us at the table was lovely and asked us if we wanted a second plate which we refused. We do understand the control of costs is critical to business but without customers you don't have a business. Also you have conveniently decided not to comment on the rusty chairs. Good luck with your business

Have just stayed in beautiful clock tower and rest of family in coach house. Everywhere so amazingly decorated with antique bowls etc . On site cafe superb and as I was recovering from knee replacement when son and family wanted to go further afield with two lively Grandchildren was happy to stay on site. Owners Jamie and Linda couldn’t have been more helpful

Unfortunately was lied to about holding deposit. My party adhered to all of the rules and deposit has not yet been repaid. Good breakfast in all fairness but just know that your deposit will not be repaid. Also a serious issues with flies- bring your own swat and bug spray- guests are expected to clean flies from their own beds.

We had the most incredible 50th Birthday Celebration at Barton Court. The house is simple wonderful, with beautifully decorated rooms, lovely bed linen and great sized ensuites. The views of the Malvern Hills from my ensuite were quite picturesque – wish I could wake up and see that every day. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of fridge space which we need for all our wine! There were a number of rooms for entertaining including a very large lounge, dining room and study. We were a party of 38 and the house was just perfect in size and felt very spacious. We hired a local catering company recommended by Linda and we could not have been happier with the service and quality of food. Just fantastic. The grounds were an added bonus, and we took full advantage of them with an outside disco – just fabulous. We truly felt in the countryside and had total privacy. Linda and James were exceptionally welcoming and lovely to chat to. The coffee shop behind the house is an added bonus for fresh coffee and an amazing selection of homemade cakes. It is easy to access but at the same time could easily have not been there in terms of it interrupting our experience and enjoyment of the house. The segregation is subtle but effective. Overall we had the best weekend, we highly recommend it to anyone planning a large family / fiends gathering and will definitely be returning

Went to Barton Court for Hereford Art week. Staff were very rude and unhelpful when we asked where to park our campervan. Were told to park round the back but for only 30 minutes. We did not stay as it was pointless. We will not be back

Stopped at the Loose Box for coffee and cake. After being shouted at for trying to serve ourselves with cake (the plates and cake slices were there), we placed our order. Coffee came quickly, but no cake. After a long wait, we asked about the cake, only to be told (with no apology) that our order had been forgotten. When the carrot cake eventually arrived, it was dry and overcooked. There were other people at the next table whose lunch order had been forgotten, and who were treated in an equally rude manner

What a shame about this place, visited today for lunch, lovely food and drinks. There was a group of 4 people having lunch, they had an elderly dog with them that was constantly barking, the owners seemed to ignore this but it clearly put other guests off who moved outside to eat, really spoilt our lunch and would have stayed longer, shame that the staff didn't take initiative and ask the dog owners to maybe take the dog outside. Such a put off. Leadership absent unfortunately! Could have been dealt with in a polite business like fashion. Put us off returning. Big shame.

First time to Barton Court, the area is very beautiful, and the cafe was a welcome sight. The cafe is in an old horse stall, still with the names of the horses above the door! It is quaint, and rustic, entirely appropriate. We just had some soup but it tased home made, and delicious. Friendly service and very reasonable costs. It was quite busy, and we visited mid morning, mid week.

Linda and her team organised a delightful afternoon tea party for my Mum's 90th birthday at very short notice. They accommodated us in a beautiful private space called the Engine room which was perfect as had easy access for my Mum in a wheelchair and disabled toilet adjacent to it. The caterer provided a beautifully displayed and delicious selection of home made sandwiches, cakes and pastries, even homemade jam for the scones. We were served tea and coffee by two lovely members of staff who had stayed on after their normal shift in the cafe to host us and nothing seemed too much trouble. I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for something similar and will be back to try their lunch menu in the cafe.

Were over the moon to win a short stay at the amazing Clocktower! It was a fantastic break and just what we needed. The cottage is a perfect romantic break for two, and super dog friendly. We felt at home straight away. The cottage is quirky, with lots of lovely touches from the owners, very warm and well equipped. The bed is huge and super comfy, and the little upstairs loo saves trogging downstairs to the main bathroom in the dark! Barton Court and it's surroundings are simply magical, and will only improve as the owners keep up their good work and fulfill their plans. Linda and James, the owners, and their staff, could not have been kinder and we can't wait to return! Sharon and Vince from Wales xxx

A bit hit and miss. Went for cake and coffee first, very nice setting and good cake. Second time went for lunch. Service very haphazard given that they had plenty of staff. I had booked but they hadn't reserved a table for us. Had to sit by the toilets, I suppose someone has to, but not great. Bought lunch out but no cutlery. The meal for the price was the meanest portion I've ever been served. It was a starter size. Two jam tart sized pieces of frittata, small yet tasty, with celery salad, also tasty, one cherry tomato and iceberg lettuce with no salad dressing so hard work. Hubby asked for dressing and was told it was already on it. Nope. For £10 poor. So .. go for cakes but skip lunch unless you are minted and a dry lettuce lover. 🍱

Very disappointed. Linda took nearly £2000 deposit pre-covid for family weekend which had to be postponed due to the pandemic. When we tried to re-book for 2023 we were told that they were taking no bookings and refused to refund our deposit. Didn’t reply to emails or phone calls. Very questionable business practice. I suggest you look elsewhere. Linda, this booking was made by my sister, Penny Rayner. I can’t believe you would not remember a booking for about 30 of us for September 2020 and you agreed it should be postponed. The deposit should have been returned without hesitation as you have decided to take no bookings for the main house so impossible to re-schedule.

Stayed at Barton Court for 3 nights, in the Clock Tower with my wife. Linda and James were very accommodating, and the place itself was amazing! Extremely well equipped, cosy , hot tub was amazing and actually really easy to get going (it's wood fired). Barton court is well located for good walking spots and is only a short trip into Malvern for all your other needs. Would 100% reccomend!

Barton Court is so special. We first came across it, by chance, in December 2019 and went for our first viewing early 2020. Subsequent viewings of other venues just didn't compare and we were quick to book for our 2021 wedding! With sweeping views across to the Malvern Hills, beautiful grounds and an incredible house it was a no brainer. When we first went to view, the main house was complete but their ancillary buildings and grounds still needed a lot of work. We are so glad we were able to see past this and see the potential. As time went on and the COVID pandemic got worse, we started to think about plans a, b and c. In the end we had to postpone but only by a couple of months, from May to July 2021. James & Linda were beyond accommodating of this and we are so grateful they helped us to coordinate a new date so easily, including a complete change to the day we had originally envisaged. During the pandemic they were also able to make huge headway with work to the grounds and buildings and WOW, what a result! We were pleasantly surprised when we were able to visit again, considering how many setbacks they would have had through such a challenging time. The day itself came and James & Linda truly spoilt us, we were so well looked after and we cannot thank you enough for everything you have done. Barton Court will always be such a special place for us and we hope, one day, we might get to hold some future celebrations there too. My wife and I spent a few days at the clock tower on the Barton court estate. A wonderful getaway and a most charming quiet place to stay. Linda and James are so welcoming and helpful. Beautiful and very picturesque. The clock tower is finished to exquisite taste with an original style. We hoped to use the hot tub however was prevented because of the rain, maybe a roof style cover could allow the hot tub to be used in wet weather. Cosy nights in are a must with the log burner, however the TV has poor signal due to not having cable, but a few channels were ok. Overall highly recommend.

We were told by other hotel guest that this was the best curry they’d had. We are very experienced curry eaters and so was a little sceptical. We were wrong. I love dansak dishes and so I had the tandoori duck dansak. The dansak curry was the best dansak I had had. My wife had chicken merilan with melons, which was creative, beautifully tasty and well presented. Even the mushroom rice and onion bhajis were of top notch quality. Just wished the Taste of India was closer to our home.

I absolutely love being in this place and it has a beautifully calm feel. However I am totally astonished by the dolls-house size servings for lunch- at normal lunch prices. I almost asked them if they hadn’t accidentally given me a kiddie’s portion - for a cheaper price- as for over £9 I got two slices of delicious small rye toast, about 7 very small lettuce leaves, 4 olives and a small pot of delicious dip. All very tasty but absolutely not a main course. I know I these are locally sourced ingredients but this felt really wrong. I will definitely return for post lunch coffees but will make sure to eat somewhere else where I can fuel up for lunch before hand.

Pleasant surroundings outside, unfortunately the food was not too a very high standard. Ham and piccalilli sandwich, ham tasteless (wafer thin and breaded, supermarket family pack springs to mind). Should have been advertised as a Piccalilli sandwich, Coffee was fine.
