Tuvimos un delicioso almuerzo en nuestro local.El pollo con semillas de sésamo con salsa de miel y soja estaba tan tierno, el costillar ahumado era perfecto y, siendo yo búlgaro, pedí una ensalada Shopska, que me devolvió el sabor de casa a lo grande. Siempre amables, siempre acogedores y aman a nuestra perrita Missy: puntos extra de brownie.

Nettes Pub/Restaurant. Rustikal aber nett. Sehr freundliche Kellner. Essen war sehr gut und ist flott gekommen. Kleine Karte mit zusätzlichem Angebot. Bierkarte wäre vielleicht von Vorteil, Kellner wissen jedoch was es gibt. Tolle Musik im Hintergrund. Würden auf alle Fälle wiederkommen.

Me detuve aquí para cenar una noche en Jackson MS. Estaba esperando las alas fritas, pero estaban fuera. Tuve el plato de salchichas aperitivo y albóndigas de pollo. Ambos muy buenos. No había comido carne de cerdo desde la última vez que estuve en Mississippi en 1988, por lo que fue una agradable sorpresa en el plato de salchichas.

Este bar / parrilla ha estado en movimiento desde hace un par de años. Estábamos pasando la semana pasada y decidimos probarlo para tomar una copa por la tarde. Cuando mi título dice trabajo en progreso, eso es lo que se siente dentro. Quien haya pensado que esta mirada sería buena está completamente equivocado. La cerveza de barril y el vino de mi esposa estaban bien, y el personal era amable, pero el nombre, si se puede llamar así, es terrible.

Esto se trata de mi 10ª visita si les hace saber que está en el jardín y quiere bebidas y comida. No espere a que salgan cada vez que esperemos de 20 a 30 minutos a que alguien salga, siempre espere en el bar el menú. y quédese y ordene sus bebidas antes de salir de la comida.

Visité The Barrelhouse cuando se abrió y no me impresionó en absoluto. Sin embargo, mi esposo tenía ganas de ir a comer algo, así que le di otra oportunidad.Visitamos en una fría noche de viernes en marzo. No reservé y quedamos muy sorprendidos de lo ocupado que estaba. Recibimos una muy cálida bienvenida por parte del personal y conseguimos la última mesa. Pedimos dos hamburguesas; La hamburguesa sucia y la hamburguesa de pollo frito del sur. Ambos fueron servidos con papas fritas y ensalada. Fueron cocinados a la perfección y muy, muy sabroso. Mi única crítica sería que los chips tenían mucha sal en ellos. ¿Por qué el chef tiene que añadir sal?En general, excelente comida sabrosa a un precio excelente y un personal muy amable. Sí, definitivamente volveremos.

We had a very good lunch and we enjoyed the friendliness which this is what we first pay attention in a restaurant {service} The bean burger was very good !! scott was crazy funny !!

Fuimos a la Barrelhouse como trabajamos cerca y quería compartir una comida con un amigo que estaba teniendo su último día en el trabajo. Fue un poco después de la 1 pm y estábamos esperando a ser un poco ajetreada pero estaba vacío, que en este tiempo se preguntaba por qué habría. Mi amigo hizo el comentario en la última comida comida dieron su compañero intoxicó tras ser allí. La decoración es dudosa, pero espero que si estás lo suficientemente borracho se podría pensar que es peculiar. El servicio era bueno y teniendo en cuenta que estaba vacío, nos dio los menús rápidos junto con un menú de especialidades.Pedí ensalada de salmón ahumado y bacon y mis amigos pedimos hamburguesas y patatas fritas de diferentes tipos - sin salsa barbacoa. Mi comida llegó sin puntero que mi salmón ahumado estaba ahora libre de humos y salmón cocinado. Bacon estaba en plazas cubiertas con una minúscula mayo, que supuestamente han de ajo, pero chico era insípida. No me informaron de que el salmón ahumado no estaba y cambiado, comimos la mitad de como era demasiado cremosa y sosa. No es bueno si quieres sana, pero bien si quieres grasos comida indigesta. Iré a la Scottie o incluso la piscina Pub para comidas y bebidas futuro

Me mente cuando este estaba recibiendo renovado y el andamiaje bajaron. Me pareció que alguien había fuego, pero resulta que fue la decoración. El interior no podría ser más hipsterish como parece un deslucido scrapyard. Pero la comida estaba bien y no demasiado caro, y el personal era amable. Un punto de salida para usar tarros de mermelada para servir los refrescos, pero para una escapada de la hora del almuerzo sirvió.

Tried this place on basis that it was supposed to be close to our hotel. Turns out the address is wrong on TripAdviser and the postcode is wrong on Google. We ended up in a housing estate first attempt then discovered it was actually 15 miles from where we were! Anyhow, we persevered and glad we did, for Barrelhouse is a bit different and quirky. The menu is not extensive and our meals were a bit hit and miss to be honest, but the staff were fantastic - friendly and attentive (and kept apologizing that we had got lost as though they were somehow responsible) and it has a great ambience. The home-made ginger beer was superb.

I've been here with my partner three times and it's been great on each occaision, there's a decent range of drinks, plenty veggie options (the bean burger was amazing), the food is very tasty and the staff are super nice!

My wife and I had a lovely meal here. Beef kofta and smoked haddock both tasty, cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. Great service, fantastic choice of drinks and the red wine was served at the perfect temperature. Very nice!

This place is a very welcome addition to the local area. The staff are great - always attentive, without being intrusive. Food-wise, we've only tried the nachos so far (very tasty, and great portion size), so we'll need to try out some other menu options next time. They also have a great selection of gins. Highly recommend this place!

As a local I have not had the chance to go along to the Barrel House until now. What a let down. Food over priced given the portion sizes. No virgin cocktails even though we asked if they could adapt to make one.

Have been coming here every 2-3 weeks since I discovered it and have never been disappointed. Friendly knowledgeable staff, great beers and fantastic food.

Stopped in tonight for dinner, lovely meal. I had heard that a friend enjoyed a meal here so stopped to try it. Got a table straight away and waiters were really quick to help with drinks and menus. Ordered haggis balls starters which were yummy. I then had philly cheese steak. Steak was cooked nice and juicy, tasty chips too. finished the meal off with sticky toffee pudding which was nice and light.

Excellent bar with fantastic food and a huge range of enticing drinks!!. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Fabulous Live Music too...especially the Classic 50's band we heard

We've been to Barrellhouse a few times since it opened and have had mixed experiences. Menu-wise it has a very strong meat emphasis and the veggie option we had was uninspiring and insubstantial.

It was a lovely place to eat and have a drink after climbing up Arthur's seat. The staff were wonderfully attentive. And I even got a delicious off the menu sharp raspberry cocktail!

Went on a Saturday evening with a friend for a bite to eat. I'd seen the menu in advance and fancied taking on the Hellfire Wings Challenge (5 super spicy wings, eat them in under 5 minutes then survive a 5 minute 'burn' period with no water etc. and you get them for free).

I visited the restaurant last week with both my mum and dad, this wasn't the first time we have been and certainly won't be the last. The service is always great and the staff are lovely, the food is fabulous. I started with the chicken wings which I think are the best wings I've had in Edinburgh, followed by my main of ribs which had the meat falling off the bone. For dessert I had the red velvet cake. I would recommend all these dishes let alone the restaurant to anyone who enjoys somewhere with a relaxed and chilled feel whilst having a high quality of food.

I live nearby, and I've visited a few times for lunches and drinks. The food varies between pretty good and great depending on the dish - I happen to love their jambalaya, which is rich and spicy. The staff have been attentive and friendly on all our visits, and there's a good selection of drinks. The decor is somewhat all over the place, but I like it. I'd say it's the best pub in the local area, and certainly the most welcoming. We'll be back!

Visited here on a busy Friday night. Had a bit of a wait for a table, but this was fine as we had not booked. Had a drink at the bar. Service very good and friendly. Our waiter kept us informed re the wait for our table. Very nice friendly Irishman

Came here for lunch with my husband and niece, strange smell when we walked in but was maybe just the food. The decor is not to my taste at all and my 7yr old niece said it looked dirty. Totally understand that this is the theme of the bar but it just doesn't look nice. The staff were lovely and friendly. We ordered starters and mains and they all came together!?! Also the mac & cheese bombs are huge! We ordered two portions between us but one portion between 2-3 would suffice. I ordered a veg burrito and on the menu it didn't say it came with anything so I ordered a side of sweet potato fries, when the plate came it was loaded with normal fries and a side salad! Surely the waiter could have explained especially as he said "I did think it looked a lot of food" after I mentioned it! My husbands BLT was massive and he said it was okay. The kids meal was £3 so really good value, she opted for chicken strips but again the menu didn't mention that it came with anything but it was served with a load of fries. The price for all that plus 3 juices was £38. The food was okay, the staff were lovely and the decor let it down. The waiter boxed our leftovers as there was too much to eat so that was a nice touch.

Came here after being treated badly by staff in another establishment close by and WOW what a difference, the staff were friendly and attentive, they even opened up a tab just so we didnt have to get up from the table and made sure we were having a nice night at all points. Not tried the food but really looking forward to doing so next time. DEFINITELY a place to go!

Great looking bar I felt the service was good but the Dirty Burger was awesome .. that's the best tasting burger I've had in ages 👍

This bar is a very welcome addition to the area. The staff are welcoming and the beer selection is great. The garden out back is tastefully decorated and when the sun is shining it has a pleasant ambience. And, more importantly, they play good music. What I particularly like about this place is the neighbourhood feel: it does not have the anonymous atmosphere of bars which are more centrally located. People come along with their families and pets and it has a relaxed and friendly vibe. It is fast becoming a hub of the local community which is to be highly commended. This is a wonderful local bar which deserves all of our support.

I was at the barrel house on a Sunday early evening, first time so was interested to see how it was in its first year. I was stunned by the price of wine, £25 for entry level prosecco for an out of the way bar, champagne was £32 and I know how much both cost in the wine merchants, definitely not a £7 difference. Anyway we ordered some simple food and waited, and waited, and waited. Finally asking a few members of staff, and one eventually said there was a problem in the kitchen. If they had good customer service we would have been kept posted, rather than having to keep asking - how difficult is a plate of nachos. They eventually arrived along with meals for others around us who had waited over and hour and 45 mins. We weren't offered a discount in the meal, a complimentary drink or any sort of appeasement. I think I will stick to the safari lounge, closet to town, better food and more reasonably priced

Went for a late weekend lunch, really friendly and good service, and plenty of food in the portion sizes. The buegrass band doing covers was great (Fun Lovin Criminals and a bit of Dolly Parton). Good range of drinks, would definitely go again.

This is my first review and it should most definitely go to Barrelhouse bar and grill. The food was fantastic, as were the cocktails. The setting is so artistically done to create a chilled atmosphere, which it really does. The staff were more than attentive and extremely friendly. Everyone was just so chilled, there was no rushing about, which usually gives me anxiety. And everyone was laughing and had a smile on their faces. Would most definitely go back again and again.

Visited on a Monday night so not very busy. Had great food and beer and liked the decor. However the staff kept coming over to the table too many times and the guys kept flicking their hair - tie it up if it's getting in your eyes! Would maybe come back for beers on a sunny day in the beer garden.

I have lived close by for some time and the area has been screaming for a place like this. Good food, great beer and all reasonably priced. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I have no doubt that it will continue to improve as it finds its feet. I am looking forward to enjoying some refreshments in the beer garden this summer with only a short stumble home.

The food was good, service friendly and attentive without being intrusive. All 8 of us enjoyed the experience and will definitely be back! It's good to have somewhere local to go to.

Trying hard to make the decor of this place quirky which gives you something to talk about when waiting for the food&drink; .To be fair it was 4pm and empty , so seating no problem.

Great meals lovely friendly staff went for my grandson birthday the staff were so helpful lovely beer garden for the summer nice to see when they took over they kept the old original clock that was out side when the pub was originally built

Terry and me were visiting the kids. They had just bought a house along the road in Willowbrae, we popped up to see them and take them out to lunch. They took us here.

Opened on a great spot can't always be bothered going in to town rustic inside which is Fabby we have been couple of times - food is good server on last visit was a bit forgetful-will not stop us going back. They are also child friendly best to book for Friday or Saturdays

Been meaning to try this place as I live nearby and I wasn't disappointed. We went on a Wednesday night so it wasn't too busy. The service was excellent and the food was great. The haggis Bon bons were amazing and the food is all reasonably priced.

Came on a thursday night, the bar was busy and the staff were very accommodating. Shared a large portion of nachos while listening to the live music. Waiter Richard was excellent, looked after us and recommended 2 brilliant cocktails !!

Called into the Barrelhouse as it was close to family, it was great, urban decay décor which really suited the building, random chairs tables, sofas, booths, all very different. The atmosphere was lovely and staff made time to give good descriptions to some of the dishes and drinks and even had a chance to sample some of the beers. The food was very good and bit off the norm, had good choices for veggies and vegans. So nice, we went in again for drinks the next night too.

Went for a meal with family on an early Saturday afternoon, the staff were all very friendly, and service was excellent. The decor is great, and nice open space, which was ideal for our infant's buggy. Ordered fish cakes, didn't have high hopes but it was delicious, came with a tasty parsley sauce and sweet potatoes. My husband got a vegan lasagne which he said was nice but while packed with vegetables, was a little lacking in flavour (note vegan dish changes daily). My sister in law got a chicken dish which she said was excellent. We'll definitely go back, great to have another nice bar and restaurant with good good in the neighbourhood!!

Well it's obviously an improvement on the old Jocks Lodge but the decor just looks rough and unfinished. Not the stylish look they were presumably aiming for. It was lunchtime when I visited and there was only one other table in but the food took 50 mins which is just too long. Food was generally okay but not good enough to overlook the decor, lack of ambience and very long wait. The staff were friendly and otherwise efficient though And prices are good.. But I won't be back. Pity, I really wanted to like it.

Well at last something has happened to the old jocks lodge pub.

Just off the train from London and chose to grab a bite with friends on the way to their place. They had been to one of the owners other venues and thought this would be a good opportunity to try this late addition to the portfolio

Met a friend at 'the new place', for food and drinks. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. I had phoned to book a table a few nights earlier but when we arrived there was no record of the booking. I mentioned the girls name that I had booked the table with and yep, she did work there so at least I had called the right place! Luckily there was a table we could have. Staff were very apologetic and all was good.

My friend and I came here for some dinner and a couple of drinks having seen it was new to the area and being very few eateries were hopeful....

Visited here between Christmas and New Year, full of hope that this would be an excellent bar and restaurant. We were really disappointed. We were greeted warmly upon arrival by staff and, despite not booking a table our group of 6 was accommodated fairly quickly and given menus (although they didn't have enough for everyone at the table). The design inside is very rustic with lots of bare walls on show and an old fashioned western-theme. Everything appeared clean and there was a nice atmosphere inside. After being settled at our table, however, we appeared to be forgotten about (it wasn't busy at the time - 6pm and around 5 tables in use) to the point where we had to go to the bar to order. Drinks were very overpriced (£6.70 for a wine!) and the bartender seemed unsure of the types of wines and what was dry or medium sweet. The menu had a fair choice and things sounded appetizing. The waitress was nice enough but had problems understanding us to the point where we simplified our orders to make the ordering easier. Our dishes took over 20 minutes to arrive. The mac and cheese I ordered was bland and had a massive pool of butter at the bottom which left it feeling very greasy. The side chips were very nice and crispy. My partners' mac and cheese was forgotten about and they had to make it from scratch meaning he was left to eat after we were all finished. My friends' nachos looked good, however and the portion was generous. We often visit the nearby limelight and wanted to be able to regularly visit the Barrelhouse, too. I really hope that this bar and restaurant improves once it sorts out some teething problems (when we visited it was cash only which isn't very customer friendly) and we can have a better experience in the future. Slow service, poor food and overpriced drinks - at the moment would not recommend but will probably give it another go in the future.

Popped in for lunch over the new year period. Service excellent, food good. Once the opening teething problems have been addressed this should be a great place to visit as the area really needs an establishment like this. Looking forward to more visits in the future. Reason for the title, we sat by the window facing the main road and the cold draught was weeching through the walls .. the double glazing and the heating seemed fine (some plastering required To the open slatted walls).

Fantastic new bar, food and drinks are reasonably priced and staff are very friendly. Look forward to our return
