I just recently visited the Barley Mow since it has been refurbished, and have to admit I was well impressed especially by the decor 👌 of the place which I found to be nice 😀 and completely different than most public houses, and as for the lady who served me on the two occasions I have visited this pub she was polite friendly and a credit to her profession, and I honestly think the Barley Mow shall recieve many more positive reviews in the future, so its top marks from me.

Had a party for my daughter's birthday at the Barley Mow beer garden, very spacious, play area for the kids, outdoor stage, their DJ was amazing, great selection of songs and Karaoke! Would highly recommend! Was a great day, guests commented on how great the venue is, staff were very helpful and friendly, would definitely book for a party there again! Thank you for having us 🙂

Spent the afternoon in here and ordered a burger and loaded fries. Honestly, no words can do justice to how amazing the food was and for how cheap it was. If you are looking for somewhere to eat, go nowhere else. Everything was fresh and homemade down to the ketchup on my burger. I paid £12 for a double patty burger and loaded fries and it was just unreal. Absolutely divine. Lee and Drew are absolute masters of the grill and you deserve to treat yourself to their amazing scran.

Tipical old town pub. A little past it's best and in need of a good makeover. Althoght this pub is in the centre of the town the building itself is also pass its best. On the good side the staff are very frendly and make you feel welcome. The night I went they had food provided, witch would put a lot of other establishments to same. One final point that can catch you out. They only acsept cast (no cards). If you do find yourself a little short, don't panic you are only five minutes from several banks all with cash machine's.

An hour prior to Charlie Hinds removing her sodden tights in another venue we entered this watering hole for a little drinky. The place was in silence. We cranked that mother of a juke box up and turned this quiet little bar into the set of a music video and my goodness we put on a show; i'm certain i spotted the working men drooling as i put kitty into the downward dog. The bar staff was very friendly. The toilets were a tad mings- i gagged when i entered- someone had just recently visited tandori nights. I would return but next time i'll charge a fee for the entertainment i put on.

We went on a sunny afternoon and sat in the extensive beer garden at the back of the pub. The staff are very friendly and the prices both for food and drinks is very reasonable. We both had a Chicken and bacon salad as we didn't feel like too much because it was a hot day. The salads that came looked okay but tasted better. There was plenty of chicken and the bacon was wonderfully crispy. Looking at the plates of food that other people were eating they looked equally good and I can see us making a few more visits to taste those as well.

Visited on a Thursday evening when the pub we intended to go to just a few doors up had no tables left, plenty of room in the Barley Mow. On arrival the bar maid appeared to be having some kind of row with some one over the bar but as we were very limited in our chpices of where to eat we stayed. Menu had sandwiches, burgers, pub classics and a specials board. We ordered a burger each which were about a fiver each and were ok for the price. Basic ingredients, nothing fancy, frozen chips but all hot and the salad and bun were fresh. The wine was awful, asked for a chardonnay but was told they only have one type- sickly sweet. Beer was fine. Cutlery was clean.

This bar gets busy at night on a weekend and the atmosphere is great one half ha a Sj and outside back area for the smokers. Its a nice pub great meals llke 2 for one sunday dinners for around 10.00 with del included for drinking it has a large garden with chairs and tables in the summer and good seating plan around the bar small area in the premsies which sometimes have live music from local bands or Karokie nights on which at night time gets very busy with locals, Staff are okay to talk too and drinks can flucturate in prices on busy nights. also a great place for family meals up until 6-8 o clock. Themed nights like steak nights to sunday dinners as mentioned before or breakfasts for resonable prices. kids play area in back garden (slide) for the young ones so during daytime can have some locals in watching the sports on big screen televisions places around the pub and shows also sports for premier leauge.

The best pub in Runcorn by miles. The beer is always good, as is the food. Friendly staff and good service. A proper authentic local, unlike the Weatherspoons up the road. Big beer garden which is great on sunny days. It's good for a quick pint in the daytime, an all-dayer or an evening drink.

At the minute the card machine is not working so you need cash which is annoying when you want something to eat and you get out your card and they tell you the card machine is not working, you then have to zip to the nearest cash point. The breakfast is really nice, when it is sunny you can sit in the beer garden with your breakfast and it is buffet. It is just a little annoying about this card machine business, they need to sort it out.

Stopped here for a coffee while my partner was having a 20-minute eye test, twenty five minutes later my partner arrived back but my coffee hadn't, my partner went in and explained this only to be told they have had a lot of orders in,no apology. If you have busy times then get more staff in to cover those times and stop making excuses for poor service. Half an hour is way too long for one "okay" cup of coffee.
