We ordered a take out to be delivered. Excellent service, outstanding food. We had onion bahji, poppins, boiled rice chicken tikka masala and chicken balti jalfrezi… so so good can’t wait for the next one!

We have been eating in at Barinda for years but it’s been a while since our last visit. As it’s BYO we selected a nice bottle of Chenin Blanc to go with our meal and went for an early evening table. It was quiet and we had our choice of table. A warm welcome as always and we ordered the usual poppadoms and an onion bhaji to start. The bhaji’s at Barinda are wonderful - cooked fresh to order they are crispy and tasty with no stodgy middle bit. We chose two different curries for main with the usual accompaniment of rice, chips and naan. The Naan was light and fluffy. The chicken was moist and flavoursome in both our curries. More than enough food so we took some home for the next day. The total bill came to £42 - not sure where you can eat out locally as cost effectively and tasty as that. Can’t wait to visit again.

Whenever we have guests this is our go to place for a take out that would feed double the guests we have . Curry - wonderful . Fluffy Naan bread and melt in the mouth rice - can't fault any dish we have ever had . Efficient staff who are pleasant and polite . Everyone would love to live near a place like this .

This is the worst curry I’ve ever eaten. Absolutely tasteless and the curries tasted exactly the same. Cubes of dry meat all in identical sauce. They have an open kitchen as if they’re cooking everything from scratch but they obviously have one large pot of sauce they use for every recipe. If you are a connoisseur of Asian flavours then avoid this place I know I will.

always enjoyed Barinda curries but last nights chicken jalfrazi was dusgusting, pieces of chicken with a mush of chopped oniond and tomato puree, nothing else. also pots of onion pickle have shrunk and no taste. I have been going to Barinda Cheadle Hulme since it opened in 1999 as Barinda Balti 2000 just before the millennium. I have never been disappointed or had a bad meal from them in all the years I have been going there and no other Indian takeaway compares to theirs in my opinion. A Saturday night at home is not the same without my Barinda takeaway!

We went for the Shashlick Karahi Chicken from the ‘Chef’s Recommendations’ as we normally get the same old thing so were keen to try something different..Well.. as one of the most expensive dishes on the menu at £10.50, we were expecting a lot..However, the dish was bulked out with huge chunks of half onion and chunks of pepper. The chicken content was pretty much non-existent.Very very disappointing, and having been here many times before, we now won’t be returning.

It’s a good while since I’ve had a takeaway from here and it’s always been good so I thought I’d revisit. They’ve installed an online ordering system which works well. I had onion bhajis which were tasty but a bit heavy, probably because they are very big. For main, I had chicken tikka doneya which had a good kick to it and was very tasty with plenty of onions and peppers in it. Definitely worth a visit

We ordered a takeaway on a very busy Friday night. All the breads were good, the vegetable curry was great, my fish masala had a delicious sauce, but the fish was unpleasantly overcooked. The rest of the group had chicken dishes which they seemed happy with. Although three people paid numerous visits to the loo the following day! I haven't asked the other two chicken eaters whether they were affected. This is downgraded from my previous rating of 5.

We were a group of ladies chatting and laughing and enjoying our evening. The waiter was rude and unhelpful throughout our meal. As we finished our meal the waiter said somebody in the restaurant had said we were too loud and could we be quiet. There were only two other tables, both enjoying themselves, making noise, so we asked both tables if we were bothering them and if they had complained. Both hadn't and were shocked at the waiters behaviour. We challenged the waiter and he became offensive and very rude and told us it was a table who had just left. This was was also a lie because they were friends of a lady in our party. We told him this and he then said this is about respect. He obviously has a problem with women and tried to ruin our evening. We explained to the gentleman in the takeaway attached to the restaurant and he said he would deal with him. What a shame one member of staff can soil a restaurants reputation and our evening. I would not recommend any group of younger independent females go without male company. Not a place that respects female customers.

As the reviews indicate, the Barinda has almost universal approval. What is perhaps even more worthy of notice is that those who admire and enjoy the Barinda most are those reviewers of the greatest experience. Certainly, the Barinda serves very high quality meals and the dishes contain a very high meat content - no cutting corners here. The restaurant is rather small which means that, at least at the weekend, it is advisable to make reservations. As others have noted, the Barinda has a no corkage BYOB policy, which is very advantageous as to cost. But also for convenience. There is a late night Co-operative Food shop immediately across the road which sells good value wine and beer. Enjoy!

We were greeted on arrival by friendly staff and as it was a social reunion and leaving "do" were very engrossed in conversation and not hurried to order. The staff took this with great patience and forbearance. We finally ordered and were brought our meals - no mistakes in the order. The curry was delicious. As a group of friends we arranged to meet at the Barinda. First thing to say is that it is a restaurant tacked onto a takeaway - takeaway on one side of a partition wall and the restaurant on the other side with a door so the single member of staff could access both sides. On the night we were there 5 tables were occupied but it has to be said it is not a place you would say has any atmosphere. Glasses are provided should you wish to take your own alcohol otherwise the soft drinks are what you can purchase next door. However the food was good and the menu on each side of the dividing wall is the same so if you like a particular starter for instance you could have it as a main in the restaurant by multiplying the order x 2 or 3 just as you might at home. Due to there being one member of staff going between the two establishments to get the food and drink, service was mixed and I would imagine at certain times could be slow. There is limited parking with cars parked up the pavement on both sides of the road.Would I go there for a meal again? The answer is no because I prefer a restaurant with some atmosphere and some basic facilities but I might order a takeaway!!

This restaurant is situated on a main road and the parking is poor. It is not licenced therfore you supply your own drinks, which is fine by me, in fact I actually prefer this arrangement. The decour is fine, not exceptional,. The menu, food and service is excellent.. However, we were in a large party celebrating a 60 th birthday and having ran up a sizeable bill, we were rather dismayed to be rushed and told 'They needed our table for other diners' . This appears to be a common theme as it is often possible to see people cueing outside for a considerable time .For this reason they get a low score which is a shame. Perhaps they could aquire a liquor licence or stop over booking and ruining people's celebration meals. We will not be returning.

I've never written a review before but I was so disappointed and quite disgusted by my experience at this restaurant. My partner and I used to visit this restaurant quite often as its local, the food is generally good and you can take your own wine which saves a bit of money. We haven't been for over a year. The waiters used to be welcoming and polite. On Saturday night we were met by the most surly looking man who pointed to a small table near the toilet - no smile or a greeting. We asked if we could sit at another table as the restaurant was completely empty. He said "No". The restaurant was still empty when we left so it seemed that nobody else was booked in and we could have changed tables. The meal was mediocre. My partners was hot (temperature wise) whilst mine was tepid. I didn't dare say anything to the man or complain. We quickly paid and left. Of course we didn't get a "goodbye" "come again" or anything like that! We won't be returning.

I visited Barinda for a special occasion with a large group of friends and family. I've had takeaways from here previously which have been delicious, however my experience eating in the restaurant didn't come up to a similar stand unfortunately. There was only my party and one other party in the restaurant and the service was incredibly slow. From start to finish we were in there for 3 hours, and from asking for the bill several times it took well over 30 minutes to be brought to the table. There was around a 30 minute wait in between each course too. My biggest complaint was that I found a hair in my starter, which unfortunately put me off the rest of my meal. Although I was offered another starter I didn't find the staff to be very apologetic, which I would expect as a minimum in the circumstances. On the plus side you can take your own drinks, which keeps the cost of the meal down, but all in all I'm not sure I'd rush back.

Good quality food and sensibly priced throughout Barinda is well worth a visit especially if you're tired of the overpriced and poor quality of the drinks menus in other establishments. The food isn't as good as many others but the decor is inoffensive and they don't sell lager ; a drink that is not suited to spicy food due to it's blandness despite popular belief that it is.

I visited this restaurant in a party for a family member a couple of weeks ago and wasn't very impressed. We were a fairly large party and it was early on a Saturday evening with only another three sets of diners. The decoration was Basic and boring. There was no atmosphere or ambiance and there was no feeling of being welcome. We had booked for 7 o'clock, our first course starter was ordered and arrived three quarters of an hour later. The main was ordered and didn't arrive at the table until 8.45pm. By the time we'd had the starter two other couples had arrived and I can appreciate that it was a small restaurant but the time it took the waiter to decide to take our orders, the complete lack of any type of friendly service and the way fresh cutlery was basically thrown on the table convinced me never to set foot in there again.

I go to Barinda quite a bit. I usually however just get take out. The curries are extremely tasty and watching the guys cook beside is a sign of confidence in their product. The staff are always cheery and welcoming and get to know their regulars. On the few occasions I have ate in the 'restaurant' part it has been somewhat quiet and therefore it kills the atmosphere. But I supposed that's just luck of the draw. My only grip is that the prices have gone up quite a bit and 2 of my fave dishes are now almost £8. Which is steep in anyone's book. But then again you gotta pay for quality.

We often have take outs from this restaurant, but recently we have eaten in the seated area. Always greeted with a smile.Good food, good portions, left overs taken away in a doggy bag.You can take your own wine or beer, no corkage. If you forget to take you own they point you across the road to the store opposite. My mouth is watering as I write this review!!

I'm amazed this place is only ranked 15 out of 25 restaurants in Cheadle, in my opinion it should be near the top.. We've been going for years (mostly takeaways) & we've never had anything but delicious food. Everything's very fresh, the service is excellent, & good value. The staff are cheerful & polite. Give it a try, but remember to take your own alcohol if eating in.

We eat here regularly. The atmosphere is good and service friendly. Food is very nice and you bring your own drinks so that makes it a bit like a picnic.

Do not order before these shut down! Items missed off the order and paid for delivery but told us we need to pick up even thought we had paid! Food was cold and had no flavor! There is a reason they are going out of business! Rude staff
