Based on positive experiences some years ago, we approached Barefoot Bakery again for a birthday cake for our seven-year-old's birthday party. When we asked about alternatives to white sugar, explaining about health issues, we were told, rather rudely "(...) in that case I suggest not buying her cakes then." Interesting approach to customer retention - the two-stars reviews seen on this forum mentioning terrible customer service finally make sense ...

The cafe and bakery without doubt sells the best sourdough bread in oxford. Its fresh every day. Try it once and you'll never go anywhere else again

I ordered two bags from the Good to go app for Barefoot bakery Kidlington for £4 each. I picked them up to find a bag of 3 stale doughnuts and a croissant. We called up to be told its yesterdays food. I was always under the impression it was the food not sold on the day. Whenever I have picked up from other places they have always been of good quality and that days not stale from previous day. When we complained the manager was extremely rude and said we will be blocked and he will tell Good to go not to refund us. The bakery had yesterdays bread half price on the counter so I am actually thinking maybe our produce was even older than a day. Not a place we recommend to anyone!

Absolutely delicious baked goods! I had the dark chocolate and cherry cake as well as some biscoff brownies delivered for my birthday. I have never had a vegan cake that tasted this great before. It was light and fluffy but still very chocolatey and absolutely beautifully decorated! Would highly recommend for a Birthday party!!

The waitress serving me hardly smiled at all. I first came in and asked if there were any vegan cakes available and her response was blunt and rude. Something like “no. If you want vegan food, you need to come in on Saturday.” Very rude. Suddenly she remembered there was vegan banana bread so I asked for that. Again, she never smiled. When other customers finished and left, they said “bye” and the waitress didn’t look up at them and said “bye” with no engagement at all. She just looked like she didn’t want to be there. I also overhead her talking to current customers about past customers about their constant complaints regarding the ‘card only’ service. Very unprofessional. Plus, it might be easier if there were little signs next to the cakes saying what they were. Despite this, the little cafe is beautifully set up.

Very small slice of cake for the price. Cake quite dry and overly sweet. Have bought from here before so disappointing that the portion size and quality have gone down.

Used the Barefoot Bakery for a celebration birthday cake for a 70the birthday. I gave only 2 days notice due to an issue with a different cake supplier for a gluten free cake. Oh my word - the cake was AMAZING! It looked beautiful and tasted fantastic. It was the best gluten free cake I’ve ever had and great value for money. They were helpful throughout the ordering process and had no problem accommodating the order and special dietary requirement at such short notice.

All of the cakes I have tried so far have been amazing!!! I normally get take away but have sat in before when I’ve been caught in the rain in Woodstock. Lovely staff. Good coffee. And chocolate brownies to die for.

Went here for a coffee whilst staying in Woodstock - the woman behind the counter looked so miserable and did not engage with any customers. The cakes were all out in the open, with loads of wasps on them. The latte was milky coffee and not a true latte / very poor experience. There are lots of other good places to go to in Woodstock

Service was so slow, no customer engagement, coffee luke warm, no difference between a flat white and the latte Cakes are exposed on the counter with wasps having a good feed - surely this doesn’t comply with health and hygiene regulations?

When we arrived the lady serving did not smile or make us welcome. We ordered coffee and mine came wrong. Was exchanged very begrudgingly. When the second cup came the waitress slammed it on the table. The tea room was not busy so we could not understand the reason for this behavior. Will we return NO

Such a lovely little place with great cakes - they are beautifully served, budget friendly and absolutely delicious. There are many different options available, we've tried two and they were fantastic, moist and not too sweet. A hidden gem in the lovely village of Woodstock.

It’s welcome to find anything open after 1600 on the A40, and whenever I’ve been in here the staff have been friendly and lovely - including dancing to Taylor Swift. Can’t believe the bad reviews, this is the nicest Starbucks I’ve ever been in. Much better than drive they’d where the staff are more interested in their headsets than the customers in front of them. One time my husband left some lost property here, they set it aside and couldn’t have been more helpful. Brilliant people.

Food was great. Southern fried chicken fillet burger which tasted better than kfc and bigger portion. Garlic pizza bread is the best I’ve had. Unfortunately the random £16 min spend for delivery just doesn’t work, particularly for a single person. An average meal there is £10 and after that they charge you £2 delivery as well! So if you want something to eat as a single person, particularly single mum, you’re paying £8 more than if you ordered from another local fast food place that doesn’t have a min order/or small one and has no delivery charge for local. Rip off so rarely order there

Went later than normal lunch so wasn't so packed and sat in the undercover corridoor just outside the giftshop entrance. It was quite cold out in the courtyard and indoors seemed a bit chaotic with lots of staff clearing tables and kids running around. The ordering line blocks the view of the cakes so you need to be in the line to see them, but it moves so slowly and you can't get a good look at everything all at once which made me bounce between decisions a lot. The location of the clean trays didn't make sense and I had to leave my spot in the line to pick one up. Others in the queue didn't mind though so I was able to jump back in, but not before another couple hijacked my empty space to get the till operator to fix their order which had something wrong with it, leaving me standing there a little awkwardly holding an empty tray for a while. With my poor eyesight I couldn't make out the small writing on the menu which was way back behind the till and everything turned out to be quite pricey but that was expected. Ordered a carrot and walnut cake, sausage roll, and a latte. My coffee was excellent, though I had to stand there with a loaded tray waiting for it as it was the slowest moving part of the process with only a single barista and machine. The susage roll was still hot and really tasty, and the cake was fantastic. Staff were friendly and helpful.
