"The service and food at this restaurant were outstanding. While the wait times were a bit longer than expected, it’s completely understandable as everything is made fresh to order. The quirky décor, especially the car and movie photo frames, added to the atmosphere and kept me entertained while waiting. This is definitely a place worth visiting – you won't be disappointed! I ordered the combo platter, and it did not disappoint. The king rib was incredibly tender, practically melting in my mouth, and the burger was one of the tastiest I've ever had – truly top-notch. The presentation was equally impressive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!"

7 of us had a lovely meal here on a Thursday evening in September. We had a selection excellent Mexican fishes with mixed sides. The cocktails were fabulous and we also thoroughly enjoyed the brain-teaser movie quiz on our table. A great place for friends to enjoy a night out!!

We stopped by for a quick drink and had lovely service. Hopefully we’ll be back for food.

Nothing I could fault having visited here, we were made to feel welcome right from entering, boardgames available to make sure you can entertain yourselves while you wait. The atmosphere was fantastic a nice cozy Vibe that felt lovely but still allowed you to hear each other whenever having conversation. Food was excellent and very fairly priced I will absolutely be back again

We were in the Island a few weeks ago and decided to go there to get some food as it looked great. The place was empty at the time and we asked if we could get a table, but we were told that everything was booked for the evening, sorry. Which is FINE, but just the lack of interest in the customer and not even offering the option to take away or to say 'ok if you finish in an hour we can offer this table' (as it was 6pm and some tables were not booked until 7 or 7.30)... Or just saying hope you can come another day. Just poor customer service IMO.

What a venue! Small but filled with great professionals. From front of house to chefs. Quality of food amazing and nothing too much trouble.

Came here during our week in Bembridge and what a cracking find. Our party of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our food- the hello me burger, prawn and crayfish tacos and a burrito. We loved the sharing platter of sides. Everything was cooked perfectly and the little table quiz was a great touch! Only a handful of tables so booking essential!

We booked the entire restaurant ( it’s only small ) for a birthday celebration last week. What a fantastic experience, they couldn’t do enough for us, from bringing in particular brands of drink that we requested to dealing with allergies and special requests. The service was excellent as was the atmosphere and everybody raved about the food. I’ve been here several times before and each time it’s been faultless. Absolutely well worth a visit

Visited for drinks. The staff were lovely, despite being run off their feet. Although the place was fully booked for those eating, we were able to perch on stools for drinks & order a generous portion of delicious hot brownie with ice cream. Observably family-friendly & attentive.

I turned up thinking it was a meal for four ended up a surprise meal for my 30th birthday for 16. Honestly incredible, we got asked what music we’d like, our own playlist, bar staff were incredible. We got asked what drinks we’d like so they could get them in for us all, party of 16 mind. Food came out beautiful, so hot and incredible presentation. Nothing was too much for them. They even played “happy birthday” on the surround sound for my cake! I can’t wait to come back!!! Each dish looked sooooo good!! The whole place is a puaaaaa vibe! I love it! Thank you for hosting us, and giving me the best place to celebrate my 29+1 birthday!!! P.S baby guiness shots were THE BEST!!!

Been here 10 times to eat. Never get bored waiting, love the vibe, staff are above excellent, always had the good times and bloody great food. So yes, I know the owner, but he and his team deserve a bit of recognition . Place is perfect…. Don’t believe me ???? It’s a gem surrounded with different clientele throughout the year but it changes its personality as does the Island. Barbosa has probably got it about SPOT ON for Bembridge, well done gang.

We found this place while we were on holiday. What a gem! It is a very small restaurant but the atmosphere was great. There are games that adults and children can play, a good variety of local drinks and amazingly fresh, tasty and delicious food l. The only criticism I could find is the lack of a children's menu. Mark was our waiting staff and he was lovely. Definitely on our list for next years holiday

A great find to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were looking for somewhere with an atmosphere but not stuffy and too formal. Barbosa was spot on and they made it very personal and special for our day. The only bad thing was the Ribs had sold out so unfortunately we will have to go back!! The food was very good, the front of house team member was generous and welcoming, and the chef - who I believe is the owner - turned out a wonderful meal. We look forward to going back to get those Ribs!

What a hidden gem this is!!! The food is absolutely exceptional, I can't recommend the Steak Cheese tacos and the Prawn and Crayfish tacos enough! I can't recommend this place enough! The atmosphere was great, and the staff go above and beyond for you. Mark was incredibly friendly and welcoming as soon as we came through the door. We can't wait to come back!

That was a great experience. The food was tasty and colourful. The host was helpful and entertaining, to say the least. Barbosa is a small place, but it's clean and tidy. I would recommend this place. 10 out of 10. I'll be coming back. 🍔🌮😁👍

No idea what the food is like but don't bother booking online. We booked online and they didn't reserve us a table!

Booked a table at late notice. Mark (The owner) accommodated us even though full. The food served was a big portion and had to take a doggie bag home. Mark and Connor’s service was brilliant. Next time I am in the IOW from South Africa I will definitely go for a meal.

We decided to try Barbosa for our anniversary dinner and have to say this was the best anniversary dinner ever! My other half booked a table for us via the website and called in to reserve a table. The website is easy to navigate and it’s easy to get in contact to reserve a table. Since Barbosa is a small but very popular place, I highly recommend you to book a table to avoid disappointment. It’s a very cosy and relaxing restaurant. Compared to most restaurants you don’t get this feeling of people constantly rushing back and forth which was very nice. The booths make it very comfortable and private. I love the floral decor there and the unique lighting. The food there looks amazing and is so delicious too! Everything on the menu looks good. We really enjoyed the food and were so stuffed ! Connor the waiter / barman was very friendly and very attentive. When we walked in he created us straight away and made sure the table was clean and presented us the menu. The restaurant was full when we arrived. When one of the tables in a booth finished we asked whether we could move from the table we were at to the booth as it’s more comfy there. Connor then gave the booth a quick clean and moved us. He tend told us that we could win a lemon 🍋 cello if we can tell him what movies all the cars 🚗 in the picture frames are from. I loved how the owner made this restaurant relaxing but yet interactive too. My partner and I had fun figuring out what movies 🎥 these cars were from and managed to get them all right. Since I already had a lychee martini 🍸 I didn’t want the lemon cello so I asked whether I could have a coke instead as I’m quiet a lightweight. I was so thankful that I could have a soft drink instead the shot. We just had a wonderful experience at Barbosa! Whether you are visiting the Isle of Wight or live here, you have to try this place! We live here on the Isle of Wight and have restaurants ourselves. This is definitely my new favourite restaurant and there is something also we have learned that we could change at our restaurants. Found this little gem whilst staying on the island. Amazing food and a must try!

They are a very unique restaurant with a couple of hidden challenges where you can win a shot of limoncello which you just don’t see nowadays. Staff are incredibly smiley, accommodating and efficient. Brilliant first experience with amazing food, will definitely be coming back!

I'm going to preface this review with the fact I love my wife very much and love talking to her. Hopefully this will add context to the fact that once our food arrived we didn't say a word to each other until we were stuffed and happy. You need to eat here. If you go to the IoW and only eat in once place let it be here. The car game is a fun quirk that got the whole establishment involved. Go to Barbosa people!

Food is to die for. 4 different meals, 3 sides and not one single thing could have been better. Food is cooked fresh so there are some trivia games to play while you wait. Staff were lovely.

Went tonight for my birthday meal after reading reviews. Did not dissapoint, I went for the combo which was a burger,kebab,king rib and fries all in one...was fabulous... Staff were very welcoming and despite being a snug place can see why they are rated so highly... Will definitely be going back if we return on holiday next year.

Great food and a great atmosphere

Got a last minute takeaway from Barbosa the other night, they managed to squeeze it in even though they were extremely busy. Absolutely delicious! They even made a dish off menu for my fussy daughter which she absolutely demolished! Pictures probably don’t do it justice but the whole meal was amazing! Fantastic food, fantastic place, fantastic staff. Highly recommend this place for a takeaway and even better if you can get a table and eat in.

We shared pork ribs, steak & cheese tacos, sweet potato fries & red slaw - all of it delicious. Small and quirky little place with a great vibe. The gent (sorry, didn't catch his name) in front of house, was friendly, helpful and entertained us with a quiz!

Food was generally good quality but it wasn't explained that sides were pretty much essential to fill out your meal, so a couple of us ordered too little food as a result. The pulled pork tacos were excellent but the cheese steak tacos were underwhelming - they only half filled the tortilla. Desserts had also all ran out except for one portion of brownie which was disappointing. Staff were super friendly and funny, but unfortunately we were attempted to be charged an extra £60 from another table's meal. This was rectified but uncomfortable overall. Really great atmosphere but some unfortunate set backs to the experience.

Small restaurant with only half a dozen tables but brilliant food, worth waiting for as only one chef. Really friendly waitress. The corn fries were yummy.

What a find in Bembridge! We found this tiny gem of a restaurant and were so pleased to find they do takeaway service. It's very busy and popular for dine in and takeaway so plan and book ahead. We had chicken kebabs and beef steak tacos, with sides of skinny fries, salad and coleslaw and it was all delicious. Highly recommended 😋

What a lovely little find! We were lucky that they had a table available short notice and honestly, we couldn't have picked a better place for my birthday evening as the food was amazing! Fiona was so friendly, making sure we were looked after and we met the owner and chef, Mark, who is so chill and kind - gave me a birthday cocktail on the house! We really enjoyed the car game, such a laugh and a great addition to a dinner, too. Thank you guys and we will sure be back!

Had dinner at Barbosa for the first time since it opened this evening. We actually did some work on the place during lockdown to get it ready. Mark the owner/Chef was talking about his menu ideas back then and I wanted to come and try it out. Well, it didn’t disappoint. Really unique menu on offer and loads of great drinks too. Myself and my partner had Prawn & Avocado soft taco’s which were delicious. Very nice atmosphere and general vibe, with Ben the bar manager a very friendly face behind the bar. Outside seating was available but we booked an inside table. Will definitely be going again and recommend anyone looking for great food in a cool setting should take a look!
