Bar Estilo in Birmingham

Me and my friend came here for the first time and it was amazing! Food was delicious and service was great. Thank you for looking after us and special thanks to Supreeth who was kind and very friendly. I look forward to coming here again.

My favourite bar in brum. Love to come here for cocktails. Had paella for a main meal and the food and service was fantastic, delicious cocktails made up very quickly.

Have been so many times over maybe 10 years and went again recently. The service on this occasion was above and being, such friendly waiting staff and accommodating. Food is always a mix, I like to try different things. Some okay, some nice. Shame bread for the table can't be brought out warm with the amazing olive spread. They did it on this occasion and said they wouldn't reheat again, and shame you don't get more of it, it's so yummy. Churros were tasty as always, will definitely return.

Haven't had a good paella in a long time.. "Estilo paella" mixed chicken with seafood, Olivia was so kind to let us know that it had pork in it, and offered to cook the dish without pork. She also recommend the virgin Mojito which was really nice and different. Definitely would visit again.

So disappointed with my experience here. I sat down with my mom and my partner to eat for my 32nd birthday. After making a reservation over the phone, I had ordered food and then was turned away for being ‘too drunk’. I had 1 drink before hand at marco pierre whites and was told I can order but no alcohol. I never leave bad reviews as I am a business owner myself but am astonished at how I was treated. The waiters name was Georgio, who told me he’s only doing his job and was on minimum wage… although this may be it was a major misjudgment this evening as I was not at all intoxicated.

We went here for a late lunch before it got too busy as we hadn’t booked and were seated at a lovely table by the window. I ordered a Passion fruit martini which is very reasonably priced at £7.95 Mon -Fri (sorry can’t remember if there is a time limit, but possibly before 5pm) my husband enjoyed the draft Mahon. We both chose 2 tapas dishes each with a dish of chicken wings to share but 2 each would have been enough as they are very generous portions. I had the sea bass and chicken thighs both excellent although the mushroom sauce with the chicken was a bit too spicy for me. My husband had a pulled pork dish and duck wraps which were his favourite of the two and would order again. We are already planning our next visit. The menu has plenty of choice. The staff were very attentive without being intrusive. If you like tapas as we do I highly recommend eating here.

Quite reasonable food, but the Paella was way too salty. Otherwise nice tasty Tapas, and quite a varied menu Staff were friendly though ,and as it was a warm evening it was nice to sit outside I would go again but would ask them to go easy on the salt.

We were welcomed by a very friendly man, and got a drinks menu at the bar from Ryan. We ordered our drinks and were recommended Ryan’s signature drink. The recommendation was well worth it, the drink was delicious and sweet. I ended up finishing that before my original order. Thank you all!

I love this restaurant. Its my 2nd visit here. Last visit was many years ago. Very friendly & welcoming staff. Asked straight away if we had any allergies which i thought was really good of them. Really good lunch time deal. Thoroughly enjoyed my vegetarian paella and sangria for £11.95. Bargain. It was piping hot and very tasty. Will definitely eat here again when visiting Birmingham.

I like eating here as there’s such a fabulous choice of tapas particularly for veggies, the Drinks menu is okay and nothing special. On my last visit the restaurant wasn’t busy but the service was slow with food taking 30ish mins to arrive. It still tasted great.

Excellent for my 60th bday lunch.

The food is not originally Spanish and it is quite pricey for the amount you are given. Everything is spicy to some extent, with the only exception of the "Spanish" omelette. The food is ok, but,in our opinion, not worth it for us.

I've been waiting for more than an hour for food. People around us got served even though they arrived after us. The waiter kept on making jokes about it and said it's on its way now 10 times. Beer was good like any other place in birmingham.

I really enjoyed my meal. The manager was very attentive with explaining what options were available for my allergies. The waitress that served us also doublechecked which dishes I would be eating to make sure they were safe for me and the food was really delicious. Great food, service and atmosphere!

When we lived in Birmingham 10 years back, we used to frequent this establishment quite often. 10 years later, we came back and it's the same. Food, service, the ambience. It's absolutely brilliant. It's easy to see why they are one of the longest standing places in the Mailbox

This is a Spanish restaurant that might not appeal to everyone, but you must try the seafood paella. I’ve been there twice, and both times, I ordered this dish. My friends and I, a group of three, shared one large seafood paella along with three or four other small dishes, which was just right. However, if you have a big appetite, it might not be enough. For small plates, I recommend the OCTOPUS GALLEGA and pork belly. The Tiger prawn is also quite good. Some meat dishes come with a bit of potato and are quite tasty, but be cautious with the bottom of the plate/bowl as it can be very salty due to a layer of salt.

Evening well spent at Bar Estilo with a jug of Sangria classic and some cauliflower bites and nachos to go with it. Special mention for Supreet who was very warm and welcoming and served us well. He also recommended us to try ‘Santiago Tart’ in dessert which was really good. Will definitely visit again to try other options from the menu.

A great place. Especially for tapas. When it's nice and warm try to sit outside. You can enjoy the food and haveca cool drink whilst people watching. No quite madrid but. The best you will get in birmingham

Really good, well established tapas restaurant. Big menu, lots there that sounded good - I'll have to go again. What we had was great and the whole meal very reasonably priced. Service friendly and efficient.

Fantastic tapas. Every dish a winner. We visited as a party of 4 on a busy Saturday night. Excellent food, efficient service. I doubted whether everything we ordered would fit on the table! But we squeezed it in. The meat, fish and vegetable tapas were all spot on. And the smoked almonds were delicious. Will definitely visit again. Thank you Bar Estilo.

Had an afternoon Tapas lunch with friends after a Birmingham shopping expedition. The staff were polite, friendly and attentive. The food was exceptional, definitely too much for us to eat with the added bonus of being able to watch the Wimbledon men’s semi finals from the window on a big screen outside. This all added to our positive experience. Special thanks to Olivia who tended to our table and went the extra mile to bring me a complementary pudding as she knew I was the only one on the table who wanted to eat one but was being pudding shamed by my two friends 😉. Thank you to everybody at the restaurant well worth a visit.

Great night at Bar Estilo. Fantastic options for those who like vegetarian & fish dishes.

Like most places, portion sizes and quality is poor compared to what it used to be. 'Shrinkflation' very present. The food was average considering our total bill was £70 for two people and no alcohol. I won't bother again.

I took a large group of 60 students of varying year groups to this restaurant today and it was one of the best cultural experiences that we have had so far. The manager, Ismail, and his staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. They catered for our group well and ensured that the set menu catered for our wide range of needs including halal options and vegetarian selections. The food portions were very generous for the price and the food was delicious. Students enjoyed the authentic Spanish cuisine and tapas in a private dining area and were enthusiastic about all 6 courses served. If you are looking for an opportunity to explore aspects of Spanish culture while encouraging students to speak in the target language, I 100% recommend this restaurant to you. You will not be disappointed. The only problem you will have is trying to figure out at the end, which of the selections is your favourite.

Amazing veggie options, food tasted fantastic, service was quick and everyone was very welcoming and seemed very happy in their work. Fab setting, would highly recommend! Amber who served us was brilliant!

Visited on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was busy, we had booked a table and didn't have to wait to be seated. Unfortunately that was as good as the experience got. We asked about the size of the portions and the drinks, and the waiter advised us to order far more than we needed. We ended up sending some of it back due to be miss sold by so much. The sangria tasted like a cocktail, the food was poor, over cooked at parts and clearly not done fresh. The manager did come to our table at one point and challenged us on sending back a jug of sangria. Won't be returning. Far better tapas bars elsewhere.

Sensational food, good selection of drinks, reasonable price

Nice atmosphere and the location is great but we were disappointed with the food and slow service. It was a Saturday night so we didn’t mind waiting to be served but the food that came was very average and overpriced for what it was and some of it was cold. Wouldn’t come again unfortunately.

Lovely food and surroundings. Unfortunately the staff let the place down. We waited more than 20 minutes for a drinks order to be taken so we ended up going to the bar ourselves. Another table that came in later than us was served before ours. Some of the waiting and bar staff members had bad attitudes and unfortunately this ruined the experience and made us feel unwelcome. Bar Estilo, please do better.

We had a lovely lunch, food was great. Especially the desserts, I had a Santiago tart and my husband and son had a catalon. We will definitely come back. The manager Milena was great, very polite and attentive. She was very lovely and made our day, she seemed like she loved working there and it made us very happy to be served by her!

Once in a while, it’s nice stopping here for a quick pint and some nibbles. Haven’t eaten here for a while and was pleasantly surprised about the menu change. The options look so much more appetizing than before. The food was cooked well. The team there is also friendly and very helpful.

Food was amazing - can’t wait to come back and try some other things off their menu! Service was above and beyond. And the atmosphere is busy (and pleasant) but no wonder - it is just a great place to eat and drink.

I come and go with this place. Sometimes I won’t come for nearly a year, but this is my 2nd time in 4 days. 1) the food is consistently spot on 2) I have always been served by Georgio or Olivia. Yes- people buy people, and these two assets make the experience. I can not rate dinner highly enough. Considering: price, quality, amount, surroundings, service❤️- you’ll struggle to beat it.

Popped in for a quick drink before a concert at the utilita arena (that's around a 15 min walk from Bar Estilo). Ended up having a plate of nachos to share too. Really good, quick service, very tasty foot and nice drinks. A little pricey but isn't everywhere nowadays! Worth a visit especially as it's between the parking for the arena and the arena itself.

Midweek visit so it was pretty quiet …it’s actually a pretty large place especially considering the number of seats outside. Booked as we were passing at lunchtime and staying close by, this was a top pick. We’d had a fab meal the previous night in town and enjoyed this as well. We ordered 8 dishes and everyone one of them was lovely. Hot, fresh, tasty, a variety of food and flavours,,,veggie, fish and meat. You won’t be disappointed. There isn’t a massive choice which I like but certainly plentiful to suite most tastes. A couple of beers and cocktail and a couple of desserts and it was a great meal. Service and greeting was really good. Being picky the plates could have been cleared a little quicker and there was just enough people working. Looked like the manager or the senior waiter was helping out but the guy who served us was a nice, helpful guy and pretty efficient. As much as you need. Really good food, suspect it might be much noisier on a busy night and getting a table for 4 the same size as a table for 2 is slightly annoying with so many dishes but it just about worked…would definitely return….

Price undeserving of the reputation or location

We booked a table at 5.30pm Saturday evening, we arrived a little early but were seated with no problem. We were given food and drink menu's, we then waited and waited to be served, I caught the eye of two staff members but still no one came to us we waited 15 minutes. We left expressing our dissatisfaction to a waitress who apologised but that was it. Had previously been and had reasonable food and service but will not be returning.

Can't think of anything I don't like about Bar Estilo. The decor is fab, the service is charming and the food is lovely, every time. Such a pleasing experience all round. Love it! 💖

Nice restaurant, we booked for mother's day. The food was ok, but won't come back. Didn't like the high sits, very uncomfortable. Overall it's not bad, just doesn't have the wow factor.

Booked for moms birthday. Lovely friendly service. Was greeted and was provided with a glass of Prosecco for moms birthday. Chatty friendly atsmophere. Ishmael was a fantastic host. Food was excellent and good value. When we left it was raining and they found us a brolly to leave with. They made moms birthday meal so much more. Hope to see you again soon !

Only reason I've given 3 star for service is because the tables are too small if 4 people are dining together and all sharing tapas. There's no room to move when you order 3 to 4 tapas dishes each

Chose to eat her before the theatre. I asked for seats away from large groups and this was accommodated. Waitress Angela was lovely and recommended 2 or 3 tapas each. The food was lovely and cocktails good value. There is an automatic 10% service charge added but the service was good so happy to pay. Look forward to returning.

By far the best and most consistent restaurant in Birmingham. We are so lucky to have somewhere like this. The managers both the older gentleman and the younger woman are amazing friendly and accommodating. It generally feels like home from home. They organise the restaurant perfectly. Couples sit together large parties or families sit together. The food is Amazing, the Strawberry Sangria is amazing. The restaurant is clean the toilets smell fresh and are also clean. I just love spending my money here, I probably visit with my family once a month. After visiting another restaurant today and receiving the worst service ever ( Las iguanas Brindley place) , I thought id write a review and show gratitude to those who are doing it right! Keep up the great work.

Superb evening here last night. Atmosphere is great. Food is superb, very easy to pile in on the dishes, prawn dishes are excellent. Drinks have some flare and the service is spot on, George did a great job looking after our table, top guy. 💪

The Greek Cultural Society of Birmingham held an event at the back area of the restaurant. We had a wonderful time. I would like to thank all the managers and waiters, namely Rob, Ismael, Olivia and Yiorgos for their excellent service!

Decent place, located in Birmingham city centre. Food not special could be tastier but great variety. I liked the chicken quesadellia. Rum punch was delicious. Ambience was OK. Service was really good.

First and won't be last visit. Lovely cocktails tapas and paella. Great choice on menu and good range of veggie vegan options. Great option for pre ordered post theatre meal as efficient service.

Decent place for some tapas. Food is not that special. Nicely decorated but staff isn’t that friendly. Mostly interested in getting you to eat and drink asap so they can get in new people even though at 17 on a Friday there are hardly 10 tables occupied.

Tasty food and quick service. Calamari were slightly too salty though. Good sangria.

To start manager not friendly waitress not friendly the sangria £20 was not the best the garlic prawns were nice the seafood paella was a let down £22 1 muscle I did complain instead of getting the muscles they just said they would adjust the bill the paella was a real letdown a shame as the reviews were so positive

We have been looking at coming here for a while and finally we managed to visit and we were not disappointed. My partner is gluten intolerant and the waitress was extremely helpful with the menu and there were many items on the menu that were gluten free. The food was simply fantastic! Between the 2 of us we shared 5 dishes and some fries. I would definitely recommend it and we will definitely be coming again. Absolutely brilliant!

What a bar, lovely wine and ambience. Music was amazing.Perfect for a couple after shopping. Bar staff were fantastic.

Paella seafood is just tasteful!

I adore tapas meals and there is an excellent choice on the menu. First time visit after a recommenation from a friend and on the whole the meal was very good. What reduced the rating was that although the taste of the food was very good, the temperature of the food was only warm, not hot, so this was a huge disappointment. I expect that the meal was ready some time before service as the food was clearly cooked through. However as the plates were also cold, this rapidly chilled the food even more. So while the service, value of money and atmosphere were all good, I would expect much better with a restaurant of this reputation if I eat here again.

Food was good. But the waitress insisted 1hr 15mins per table even there were many empty tables. Missed a dish in the initial order but we noticed and ordered the missing dish at second.

The GOAT of tapas in the city centre. You cannot go wrong here. The sangria is amazing, and we love the pork belly, cauliflower bites, patatas bravas and halloumi bites just to name a few.

My absolute favourite restaurant in all of Birmingham! Go to it every opportunity I get! The food and sangria are absolutely superb with so many standout dishes that make you want to come back time after time! The staff are attentive and service is always speedy! Couldn't recommend enough! PS: the pork belly is a must have!

No food. Our choice. Drinks only. Lovely cocktails and sangria. Bar stools uncomfortable! Bar is fab would recommend for drinks.
