One of the best hot chocolates I've had! I had the ultimate hot chocolate which was a thick, delicious drink with lots of cream, marshmallows and chocolate shavings. The owner was very friendly and also helped me with the pram. I'll definitely be back again soon!

Bought a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows to go . Thought it was very overpriced and was disappointed to see they were using ‘squirty’ as opposed to proper fresh whipping cream. Hot chocolate was extremely sweet. Staff barely made eye contact and we’re generally quite surly. Def my first and last visit there.

Always gotta come here. Every time we come to Clifton we have to come here - the best hot choc treat ever! Pricey but memorable. Beautiful, quaint little shop. Only down side is no one seems pleased or happy to be working there. Would expect more welcoming customer service but each time the staff are non-plussed. Never mind, drinks are still good

Called in for 2 very warming hot chocolates , opted for no cream! following a walkout across the Suspension Bridge & a trip round the Observatory. The staff, the young chap, was welcoming, polite & chatty. Shame because of COVID we could not sit outside, however managed a distant park bench. Loved my hot white chocolate sat in the window watching Clifton life go by. Every surface and floor were very clean including the toilet. The young man at the counter was friendly welcoming and gave a quick service.

Terrible milk shake, advertised as a thick shake, however, basically a pint of mike with a slight hint of strawberry flavouring, so bad throw most of it away!

A nice chocolatier with very nice individual chocolates. There are excellent dark hot chocolates or milkshakes, however, occasionally I have had hot chocolates which taste as if they have no cocoa in them sometimes tasting off coffee or Horlicks, which is not ideal.

Walked past here on my way to the famous Bristol Clifton Suspension Bridge so stopped for espresso & ice cream on the way back to hotel. Comfy seat by the door. Nicely served espresso with their special chocolate topping. Ice cream cones look spectacular.

I am really sorry if I sound mean but I am a chocolate obsessed individual and I love quality chocolate. I am after quality chocolate and will go to great lengths and expense to buy and taste it. I went there yesterday after a friend's recommendation. We ordered 2 different hot chocolates without extra flavours and without toppings just to taste the quality and depth of the hot chocolate instead. I am afraid that both hot chocolates were poor, bland and nothing you'd call rich. The flavour of chocolate was honestly, hardly there. I am disappointed to say we will not be returning. I seriously struggle with positive and raving reviews form people that clearly don't know how to boil an egg at home and will like just about anything served to them. What a pity.

We popped in on a hot day for a much needed ice cream - which were super yummy! The choice of cakes was also very tempting, but we needed to cool off. Staff were very friendly and more than happy to top up water bottles. We'll be back!

Came here as a reccomendation from a close friend and the white hot chocolate is the best I've ever had, not too sweet but not at all bitter- defintely worth the price and the building itself is cosy and warm!

I strongly advise you to walk past the other coffee bars and head straight for Bar Chocolat!...a warm welcome awaits from the really friendly staff and whatever you have it will be great but the dark hot chocolate is truly historic!!
