Bar BQ Base in Leicester

Very happy that we decided to stop here! The girl at the counter (sorry forgot to take her name) with the glasses and headscarf was so lovely! She helped us decide on what to get and gave us cutlery and boxes as we were travelling back home to London. The food was amazing too, very tasty and filling.

I have traveled a lot but never seen a burger like their MAXIMO burger.. Chicken was amazing but this burger is another level.. Good works folks - keep it up.

Bbq base chicken used to be amazing. Now the chicken tastes boiled and then just basted with marinade on top. The chicken used to have so much flavour before now seems they are cutting corners.

Staff were very rude, asked for a knife and fork and he looked like he wanted to kick us out the place. The chicken was boiled and slimey, chips were bland with no salt and the naan tasted like it had been bought from Asda and had 30 seconds in the microwave (tasted like a shoe). Would never reccomend.

I used to love getting food from this place but something changed... i got a steak wrap and the quality of the steak was not good, it tasted funny and beefy (not in a good way) like it was old and i couldnt even eat more than half it. Not only did the portion decrease but so did the meat i was getting mouthfuls of sauce and cheese in my wrap which isnt so tasty after the third bite. Wouldnt order from again unless they have reverted to what they were doing a few weeks ago

Regular customer who loves this place, however portion has reduced a lot, my chicken jerk wrap was very thin, half the size of before. Disappointed

Everything was very amazing and perfect service was helping were the table was and just amazing.

The portions have dropped loads the price has gone up the salad portions are small too the coleslaw isn’t as sweet anymore… The women behind the till is always down makes mistakes all the time and charges me for a meal makes me pay separate for a drink should be included… When I’d eat it they wouldn’t charge me for little things.. If you take out they charge you for everything….

Low quality food. First time I visited in years and last time I’ll visit. Wings are bone & skin and chicken wrap was more wrap than chicken. Over priced for the food standard.

What has happened to the quality of your food? The noodles were plain with a bit of sweet chilli sauce, hardly any chicken in them and no vegetables. I understand that the portions have got smaller but this portion for £10 was absolutely terrible. Will not be buying from you again.

This must be the best Mongolian restaurant in Leicester, the food is delicious, we requested No chillies & they got the dishes perfect. Generous portions, you must try the coleslaw it’s rich tasty & leaves you wanting more. Eat here with confidence

Mouth watering bbq chicken, years of consistency, if you’re looking for a Protein with amazing flavour pick this

1) pre cooked burger from warmer served 2) they don’t serve coke or Diet Coke can as they boycott the brand but they sell big bottles. Whole idea was give cheap drink with £9.50 burger meal. They need to realise they are costlier than big burger chains. 3) renovation going on site so all dust in air falls into your food. 4) chips were there before my order was preparing so I would say 15-20 min old chips. Didn’t wanted to argue on anything so left without drink which was suppose to be part of the meal. But they do t have any ethics to offer customer refund/replacement.

Always good food, comfortable seating (upstairs) and friendly and attentive service by staff who check up on you on a regular basis.

service is getting very, very slow. was told to come after 25 minutes. got the had to wait 35 minutes extra to get my order price,have gone up by 20%

Just got delivered a £70 order full of hair. Owner was nothing but rude about it. Been ordering from you guys for years but not again. Sort your attitude and cleanliness out.

The spicy chicken wings I ordered for my son were all pink inside you could see the blood .. my son had terrible stomach ache he didn’t notice right away due to his age until I looked it’s unacceptable.. then I was put off my chicken meal .

Took forever to arrive. If I’d have known it was going to take that long I’d have ordered from somewhere else. A discount should be given when food takes that long to arrive.

Great food, best half chicken in town hands down, forget nandos, v nice interior, good prices, top marks just not sure about the plastic forks when dine in, they break...ordered wings they were deffo pre cooked..cmon guys wings cook quick cook it fresh

Food was cold and very dry dry like it had been sitting there for a long long time. Kids did not touch the food all went in the bin. Will never order food from there again.

Absolute dump Food was charged and never came. People on the phone were rude and sounded like they were brought up in a zoo Had to go through just eat to get refund and even then they tried to dispute it. Strongly advise people not to order from here! Why would I change my order address you strange little man. Clearly a scam. And why would you not call the associated number on the account to verify this was a real request. Absolute loser, if your desperate for 35 quid, could try earning it genuinely rather then ripping people off. Happy to pop by your store and discuss in person.

The wings were awful, flavour and texture of the meat. And the naan with the chicken wasn't as ordered, I didn't select cheese and sauces, and you've added, wasn't able to eat it.

Was looking forward to eat at this place so visited yesterday with family and ordered 1 family meal deal. Went upstairs and the tables were not cleaned. The guy comes with food within 5 minutes and keeps it on the table which has leftover food and not cleared or cleaned. We asked him to clear the table so we can sit and eat. He was not a happy worker as got annoyed and cleaned the table. We all seat and started with the wings which were cold, I then took a piece of chicken and that was cold aswell. The food come in 5 minutes so it was sitting to be served and was not fresh. This is my second let down experience at this place. I complained to the owner and he was not a person with gesture to offer any compensation towards offering a hot meal replacement or refund the money. Typical mentality of ignorance and just giving big talks rather then being able to deal and resolving the matter as a business owner. I will not be visiting this place as spoilt my one evening meal which I look forward to with my family. No humanity at all. Very disappointed you may be running a business for years but it does not mean you ignore the consistency of your food and service. You can come down in years if you don't keep your customers happy !!!!! Please read the below reviews from other customers and they have had the same experience as I have so its true. On some reviews the management has not even responded with a comment as not bothered to compensate shame.

Food was good, tho found it a bit pricey

Stumbled into there after finding everywhere else closed at a late lunch time. Was pleasantly surprised at the space (upstairs) available and the flavoursome food. Food was served quickly, and was delicious

Food was nice but not sure about pricing. Veggie burger (cooked pattie from freezer) for £7 (not a meal)??!! Same price as a chicken burger. See pic for latest prices. I went down based on prices online but was told they've increased, about £2 extra per burger! Grilled chicken burger and sweet potato fries were nice.

Good place for grilled and BBQ food. Seating available upstairs and a separate family area on top floor with two booths. Prices are reasonable. Food brought to the table by server but needs reminding otherwise they may forget to bring all the food to the table. Overall, a good place to eat or takeaway. Parking on side streets for free.

Gazebo chicken initially arrived colder than a corpse. It had to be sent back. It came back reinvigorated. The sauce on the chicken gave it a nice kick, portion size was generous. Salad was a bit saggy. The coleslaw was different. It was as if it was homemade. Far better than even the best brands I have had from supermarkets.

Just had my food delivered, one of the worst foods ever , chicken was burnt with tick sticky nasty chilli sauce and tasted of gasoline, indicating poor hygiene. I am utterly disappointed , I will never order again.

I had the mini sliders meal with tropical juice and a kids mini slider meal please see receipt for price. The meal was good and good flavour, the staff are very friendly and the chips are big enough for two or three of you. SUMMARY GOOD POINTS - you get a portion of fries big enough for 2/3 people - fries were cooked to perfection - customer service and people really friendly and good - sauce actually decent and not watered down and good variety - got place to wash hands - clean - lovely flavour of food - NHS DISCOUNT BAD POINTS - burger was overdone for me hence 4 stars otherwise it’d be 5 HIGHLY RECOMMEND IF IN LEICESTER.

Had the gazebo chicken and chips. Both tasted as though they had been cooked earlier (chips refried) and served to us to takeaway. Even though it tasted nice, the feeling of it not being fresh has left us a bit disappointed.

This is the second time we've visited, it was really good. The serving staff are fantastic, but the ordering staff not do good. The food is exceptional and huge portion sizes, really fresh. But the place needs a good clean. It's a bit grotty.

Hi so usually wouldn’t complaint however the food arrived cold and the container was squashed therefore the food was all over the place and also cold. The time for delivery stated 35-55 minutes however once placed it was and hour and a half. Also the gazebo wings where not gazebo as ordered many times before- however they were just OVERLY smothered in chilli sauce! I have pictures of the delivery and happy to share

The service was amazing, quick and friendly. The food looked amazing, great presentation and honestly, tasted great. Only issue is that they don't specify just how spicy the food is on the menu. For people who don't like spice, be careful what you choose

Today’s food wasn’t quite the usual standard;they are normally amazing;won’t stop us from ordering again though as the food is normally fantastic. The dips with the meal is always a very welcome touch.

Given one star rating as I couldn't give -1 star We ordered a variety of meals for a family night in, food arrived promptly but overcooked to almost burnt, chips looked as though they'd been refried and to add insult to injury the owner tried to blame the type of potato being used, the frying technique and the delivery driver! We tried to reason with him as we were all hungry but the sheer arrogance made me realise the establishment is only after your money. Thankfully the platform we ordered from refunded us but to say I'll never order from these again would be an understatement.

First time here today, friends usually rave about the food here. The staff are rude, the young girl at tills is probably the only polite staff member. My food was not hot, fresh or tasty. I had the family deal 1, chicken was barely warm. Chips were refried, salad was mouldy. Will not be returning.

The food served here is of a very high standard. Dishes are very well grilled/cooked and marinated whilst the portions being a good size too. I absolutely love their gazebo chicken, it has a proper authentic African taste. I love my food to be extremely spicy and they give you the option of how spicy you would like the meal to be, which suits me perfectly. The chips are very different to everywhere else I usually eat at, and that's a good thing! They give you a collection of sauces with your food, all of which are very tasty and unique, adding a different dimension to your dish. Facilities are of a high standard - There is ample seating upstairs with toilet and a dedicated hand washing area. The staff, including waiters are very friendly, helpful and accommodating; always asking if everything was okay and if they could be of any assistance. The pricing is perfect for the portion size and quality of the food and service received. Clearly a lot of others share our opinion as there were a few others dining in when we visited. We will definitely be visiting again! Keep up the great work guys and girls!

I absolutely love this place! I always get the half grilled chicken, nan bread, chips and coleslaw meal deal. It's almost as good as authentic Jamaican jerk chicken. My only gripe is that the chicken pieces are usually quiet small so it doesn't feel like you're really getting half of a whole chicken. Spot on with the taste though so I would highly recommend!

This is one of my regulars but this occasion the food was late and we got one of the orders wrong. I spoke to foodhub and told them to send a refund and I sent them a picture and we ordered elsewhere. Bbq base then delivered the correct food an hour late and we told them we didn’t want it. Now they refuse to give a refund?! This was a great place but it’s going downhill now.
