This was luxury dining within the Mandarin Oriental hotel; much better than neighbour Tiffany Blue Box cafe inside Harrods. French food great inc lovely souffle. Service brilliant. Surroundings/decor lovely.

The food was very good, as were the wines that were available. The service was mediocre and left something to be desired.

Some good features but a typical upmarket London entrepot where money meets common sense clearly eludes the customers. Quite average food which thinks it is sensational against a rather aggressive concept of pricing. If you are a Knightsbridge person you probably won't notice but this restaurant doesn't stand up to being associated with a Michelin started chef from any perspective despite some excellent service staff in places.

Delicious food, gorgeous venue and excellent service. Went here on a whim after a visit to the Victoria and Albert museum. I ordered the boeuf Rossini and the beef was perfectly cooked and tender. The serving was large and since it was lunch time I was too stuffed to eat dessert but I'll be back!

Service was incredibly attentive and perhaps better than the NYC location in it's formalness. The pate en croute was very well made however it's only half a slice which is a bit of an odd presentation. Burger grind is very nice on the classic burger and the morbier cheese gives it a unique flavor combination. I ordered it medium rare and it came medium well. Both the waiter and chef were quick to admit it was overdone and brought a proper replacement perfectly medium rare very fast. Very cozy atmosphere that made you feel at home with a low noise making it easy for conversation.

Another birthday lunch thoroughly enjoyed at bar boulud . Greeted with smiles from the moment our car was valet parked to being greeted in the restaurant and served by the most delightful staff , who were very knowledgeable, helping us to make wonderful wine and food choices . Love love love this place and look forward to returning soon

Bar Boulud is my go to choice when I’m craving a reliable dining experience of classics perfectly executed and comparatively priced for the neighbourhood. It’s the ideal place to have up your sleeve to call for a last minute reservation before dropping in with your other half, friends or even on your own perched at the bar. They have an extremely versatile menu of classic French and American dishes including some of the best burgers in town (the Frenchy and Yankee burger are real stand out), a great steak tartare, a strong seafood selection (the grilled octopus and cod being worthy of mention), salads you will not regret ordering, freshly baked bread and truly excellent French fries (harder to come by than expected). The clientele is usually composed of people staying at the upmarket Mandarin Oriental (which it is based in but enjoys its own entrance), well heeled Knightsbridge types, professionals and those who’ve been shopping nearby, with an ambient yet relaxed environment. The service is usually very reliable and friendly and they have a very expansive wine list for you too oenophiles.

The Bar Boulud pre-theatre menu is a real find. The food is amazing, I don't know how they can ever make any money on this menu 26.00 pounds for a set 3 course meal with tea or coffee. Unlike most preset menus, the food quality here is superb, well done BB!!

Excellent restaurant,on the ground floor of the Orientat mandarin hotel in Hyde park . French cuisine at its best ,beautiful environment. Leaving the frenetic loud city behind you,once you enter the restaurant you go in a luxurious tranquil environment. Do not miss out on the opportunity to try the onion soup ! Ask your waiter for their cocktail recommendations,I was pleasantly surprised with what I tried !!

Lo chef è uno dei migliori che abbia provato, veramente un posto che merita anche più di una visita se si va a Londra.

Bar Boulud is a strange name for a rather good Restaurant serving very well cooked french food across the road from Harvey Nicks. Had never thought of going into try the fare but rather fortunately popped in for an afternoon rendezvous and must say we were very pleasantly surprised. We had the three course set menu which included coffees and at only £26 per person, a veritable bargain in this part of London. Recommended.

We had a fantastic evening meal here. The menu is a little random but I could not fault the food we had. It was really well cooked and presented. The waiting staff were friendly and funny and recommended excellent wines to accompany our meal. I will definitely be returning.

We went to this restaurant and whilst waiting for our table we sat at the bar for some cocktails. Their high chairs were wooded and one of the chairs was splintered and a big piece scratched my leg and tore my clothing. I pointed this out to a manager and was not offered even a free drink just an apology. Also the ladies toilets were poorly maintained as there was no toilet paper or hand towels and not very clean. Overall experience was not good and will not be visiting there again.

I like it. My only issue is the gluten free bread. My burger wasn't great,due to the crumbly bread falling apart as soon as i touch it. Staff are great though.

The best thing to eat here is everything and whatever you fancy. We had a large table, and everything that was ordered was enjoyed, I had the skate, would I have it again 100 times I would. Bring your friends and family for a welcoming experience that will satisfy everyone.

We’ve been in BB several times in London (even a Christmas Eve) and in some of boulud’s places in NYC (DB, Dabiel...) and never been deceptionated.

My 2nd visit to Boulud. Not disappointed at all was great. I had a beef Stroganoff. Was really excellent! My dessert was also amazing! Definitively the place to go if you arpund Harrod's

Veramente sorpresa dalla bontà dei sapori che il bar Boulud può offrire.. il polpo alla griglia è davvero prelibato, tartare di livello e “beuf” a dir poco sublime.. carta dei vini degna di rispetto.. peccato solo per l’atmosfera poco accogliete, la musica triste.. come in tanti alberghi di lusso qui a Londra.. forse dovrebbe svecchiarsi e cercare un po’ di carattere..

La comida reservada para 10, llegó a las 9:45 después de tomar una copa en el Mandarin Bar y me llevaron a la recepción. Me dijeron que tomara una copa en el bar, mientras la mesa estaba preparada. A las 10:10 me acerqué al escritorio para preguntarles si se habían olvidado de mí. Vi como se hacía una mesa cerca de la entrada y luego se me mostró mi mesa. Esperamos una edad para el servicio. No me puedo quejar de la comida, la suela de Dover para main era excelente. Después de reservar la comida en la mesa abierta, decía que alguien estaría en contacto para tomar un depósito para la reserva y nadie lo hizo. En retrospectiva, debería haberlo seguido ya que no creo que la reserva se haya realizado en una mesa abierta. Además, no hay cuenta regresiva ni nada para Año Nuevo, por lo que fue un poco plano.

Great place. Very close to Harrod s. The lunch menu is very good and affordable taking into account the location and quality. I had a Stroganoff beef which was excellent!

Bar Boulud is a classy yet chilled out restaurant with fantastic food. I especially love their Bar Boulud Burger!

Upscale place, implied dress code. Price: expensive. Dined here on several occasions. BB burger (Foie Gras) is a good choice and is definitely tasty but for 24 GBP it might not be worth it. Service: excellent. Limited scotch selection but are double pour potions, thus reasonably priced (Lagavulin 16 for 12.5 GBP), served in a chilled glass is a nice touch! Soufflé; delicious but would not order again, on the blander side.

Fab food and beautiful service.

Had the Thanksgiving dinner menu, it was decent but nothing special. Didn't realize it was a fixed menu for the night, wouldn't have ordered it normally. The corn bread was really good though.

The BB Burger does deserve the reputation as the best burger in London: brioche bun with a big and juicy beef patty cooked just right and topped with rib meat and foie gras along with some salad and onion. It's expensive but really good. Side dish of sprouts was also very good - perfectly cooked with just enough bite with butter and seasoning. Dessert of Baba mandarin was great - lots of cream and booze. Perfect way to end the meal. Service from the staff was impeccable - quick, friendly and efficient. A very nice place for a quick informal lunch. It was my second visit to Bar Boulud and I'm sure I'll be back again.

Walking back from Hyde Park, we came by this Stylish place with a good atmosfere and delicious food. Usually it’s fully booked, but on a Tuesday evening there was a table for us.

Este restaurante ha sido altamente recomendado por varios sitios web de restaurantes. Teníamos una reserva de 6 pm en lo que nos hicieron creer que era un restaurante de lujo en un hotel de lujo. La realidad era una atmósfera y una decoración similar a la de un establecimiento de TGI Friday, bebés gritando y niños ruidosos y un servicio promedio. La comida y el vino eran realmente buenos, pero el resto de la experiencia pobre. Tal vez el ambiente cambia con una reserva posterior; pero la decoración y el servicio no lo harán. Uno para ser evitado. Especialmente para una cita nocturna.

22 pound lunch menu with coffee and tea included - amazing for this part of London, in fact anywhere in London. Salmon was cooked perfect, Frenchie burger delicious, tarte tartin one of the best I ever had. Thank you!

Had Thanksgiving dinner at Bar Boulud tonight when our first choice sold out. The experience went downhill when after asking the kitchen, my wife was not allowed to make a substitution of soups on the Thanksgiving menu, a soup that several others at the table enjoyed andbone that cost no more than the soup being offered with the “Thanksgiving dinner.” Can’t undertsand if it was the kitchen or a poorly trained manager who made this assanine decision. My wife left the soup in its entirety for the waiter to take back. No recognition or comment by poorly trained waiter or manager asking if she did not like the soup. Then we received the main course. A disturbingly ugly excuse for Turkey that looked like a pressed piece of processed turkey breast that tasted like spam. It was accompanied by some bland tasting stuffing. The dessert

This restaurant has a separate entrance way to the left of the main hotel entrance. We had booked a table through Opentable and had a set 3 course meal for £26.00. The starters and main choices were very limited but the dessert menu was anything from the a la Carte menu which was extensive. We had a bottle of wine which was expensive but it’s similar to any 5 star London hotel...over priced. Service was excellent. Nice atmosphere and you can get a table over looking the very busy kitchen. Well worth a visit. The toilets for the restaurant are in the main hotel.

This place from ,beginning to end is simply amazing.

We came to this place tens of time as we are neighbours. The service is efficient and friendly (With some exceptions as everywhere). We had the pate grand-pere, foie gras frenchie burgers, yankee cheese and baba Mandarin, Tarte Tatin for dessert. Nice red wine.

Beef Tartare under seasoned. Loup de mer was delicious. Extremely neglected by front of house. Asked for the bill, which the server said he would get. Never received it. We had to go to the hostess and ask for the check. For two course meal it took 2 hours... dinex group needs to step their game up. Extremely disappointed with the level of service.

If you’re looking for a mediocre and overpriced place to eat then you’ve found it! The menu was underwhelming and the service went from being intense to the point of it being intrusive to us being ignored. On the plus side, upon arrival the bar was lively and the signature cocktails we had were very good.

My husband and I so enjoy returning to Bar Boulud when in London, it's close to where we stay. The menu offers everything from 'design burgers' to great steaks or fish. The pre theatre menu is good value. Good wines by the glass. Efficient and caring service. Fun open kitchen to observe the action. And a well known personality or two dining near you. This was fun.

Delicious tartare and great service

Food was very pleasant, had the mushroom fricassee starter and the Pork Belly off the set menu and again this was done very nicely. I would say the food is reasonably priced given the setting and superb service (obligatory London 12.5% automatically added to the bill) but the booze is very pricey and bizarrely we were asked if we’d like water for the table which I suppose naively we presumed was tap water as it comes in carafes but when the bill came, 6 bottle of water was £24! That is a bit unreasonable and wasn’t clearly communicated by the service staff in my opinion. Overall I’d say probably worth a visit for a special occasion but if all your interested in is equally delicious food at a cheaper price alternative options are available.

Stylish French bistro and wine bar located at the Madarin Oriental Hotel in Knightsbridge. Their ceviche with sea bass and watermelon was wonderful. Courgette flowers with goats cheese looked and tasted great. Duck breast marinated in red wine with fennel and cherries was a great combination of flavours that really worked. Their wine list is just amazing. Whilst naturally heavily concentrated on French wines, they also have a 'world' section and a good selection of wines available by the glass. Service was excellent. I noticed that they also have a separate charcuterie menu -hams, pates , sausage and roulade which would be great at lunchtime.

We went at Halloween night. It was first time we tried french food. We had Starters and main courses.So happy with that! Highly recommended.

Nice bar area for a quiet pre meal drink ...recommend the house champagne as it is as good as many other very expensive other brands .

Great food, great drinks, friendly service.

We tried the mushrooms fricassée (fantastic) and the steak tartar (very bland) followed by the roasted venison and veal (both cooked reasonably well, although the braised veal was a little chewy and again the flavours rather bland). The staff were professional and extremely polite.

We had a mid week supper, a really interesting booking process, website, then confirmation emails, then reminders, then notice to tell you to call the restaurant or you may lose your reservation. It actually made me think “really?”.

20% service charge. UK is 10% or 12 max. They'll try to say it's discretionary. But it's underhand and out of kilter with local customs. Be warned.

We have been coming here, on and off, for many years. It has great decor, good food and helpful staff. Having said that I can’t help thing that there is something missing. It wouldn’t take much for this to be a really outstanding restaurant.

Without doubt, Bar Boulud offered 5-star services & almost every customers could feel clearly their warm hospitality. Food-wise, they’re definitely above average though not there yet for top ranked fine dining quality. For a 3-course lunch with cappuccino & side dish, the all-inclusive price per head was £35, super good value!

Always love coming here with friends prior to visiting the Royal Albert hall as it’s a lovely walk alongside the park to walk off the amazing cocktails! The ‘La Vie En Rose’ is my favourite. Fabulous unpretentious and discreet service, always made to feel welcome. A real gem.

Lovely place. Quicker to get to Mordor than the toilets through. Journey is nicer however.

This was a mid-week catch up with a friend, chosen due to its perfect location and famed burgers. We had high expectations but I was astounded to find those were surpassed.

My wife, our 1-year old daughter and I came here for our anniversary after reading that it was "child-friendly". I was happy to see they were right! The staff were very polite and accommodating - and even gave us some crayons and a colouring sheet for our daughter. The food was not cheap, but it was delicious. They also kindly gave us a free dessert to commemorate the occasion. Would definitely recommend.

My friends had the burgers and I went for the grilled chicken option with mushrooms and baby potatoes. I ordered some rice additionally as a side dish which the waiter said is a tunesian variety. The chicken was slightly undercooked and came in an overly salty sauce. I was surprised as I tend to always add salt to my dishes but this was too salty even for my taste. The mushrooms were deep fried and really oily (looking quite unappetizing) and what was presented as rice, was some sort of grains with a bit of rice. I don't suffer the celiac disease but I get quite sensitive to certain grains (especially the ones containing wheat) so I wish I was explained better what sort of "rice" I was getting. Starters were somewhat disapointing too. The steak tartar contained a really generous amount of capers, that overshadowed all the other ingredients. Overall not what one would expect from a place bearing Boulud's name. I have to mention though, my dish was kindly removed from the bill and the waiter was quite apologetic so one of my stars goes for issues handling and recognizing mistakes.

Poor service, long delays to order the food, during food delivery and post main course to order more drinks. Expensive, not interesting food. Cafe atmosphere, nothing special. Table of 11 crammed into a space for table of 8. Don't bother with this!!!

Lovely bar for a relaxed and informal dinner with delicious food and cocktails. Yummy mocktails too. Personal highlight was the seafood ceviche - very light, fresh and tasty for a summer evening. Also very easy to find - right by Knightsbridge tube.

Excellent alternative to the other Mandarin bar, cocktails shaked, or stirred to perfection, amazing cuisine with the chefs working right in front of you, balanced, although a bit overpriced wine list. You can even ask for one of the two private dining room for special events. All surrounded by a spotless service.

Very sad to say I took friends for drinks prior to BST Hyde Park last Saturday but did not have an enjoyable time.

Good food, decor and ambience, but my colleagues better versed in wines mentioned that the wine prices are excessive even for a fine restaurant, and it was sometimes a bit difficult to get the attention of the waiters and to receive my orders (I had to repeatedly ask for my drinks to be delivered).

Awful service, waitress had no clue what she was doing - for example the soup entree of one of my party was served so late our main courses arrived at the same time and the waitress saw nothing wrong with that - no apology or explanation. The soup just tasted overwhelming like Bisto gravy granules. All our food was very average, steak was fatty, beans too salty and greasy - not worth the prices, no flowers on the table, decor looks like a two star cheap suburban cafe or airport lounge - not what I would have expected from a five star top quality hotel. Really underwhelming and disappointing and spoiled our celebration lunch - should have gone to the Ivy Kensington for a much nicer experience.

Great food, first class service, no expensive

We had a fabulous pre-theatre meal here & received the best professional service, even though we probably didn't fit into their typical clientele image having been walking around London for many hours on a very hot Saturday afternoon. They could not have been more welcoming & professional. The food was exceptional & our experience faultless. Highly recommended

A lovely place to eat just across the road from Harvey Nics. Staff were welcoming and attentive. The menu had a decent and well thought choice of dishes. I enjoyed the stuffed courgette flowers and trout with wild rice whilst my companion enjoyed the sea bass cerviche and confit cod. Delicious :)

Although this restaurant is clearly one of the best in London based on its setting. Unfortunately, due to an overly loud table the ambience of the place felt somewhat ruined.
