Lovely place situated on a roundabout

Buzzing on a Saturday afternoon, busy with hen, stags and locals. Big venue and lots going on.

Went to watch Fury v Usyk. Brilliant atmosphere, good set up

If I could give this place zero stars I would. We popped in for a drink after arriving in Newcastle for a night out. I asked for a flavoured rum from the drinks menu. I was told that was an old menu and the woman pointed to a new one. The drink I asked for was on that too. She said they don't sell it. Fair enough so I ordered something else. I was told again, they don't have it. It was sitting right on the shelf. Clearly the poor person had had zero training. The outside tables, absolutely disgusting and haven't seen a cloth in years. Dripping we menus with god knows what on them. The floor inside was sticky, clearly from the night before. The toilets, there was only one where the lock hadn't been smashed off and the toilet paper was just thrown on the floor. A really grotty place. Would not recommend.

Bank holiday, closes at 11. DJ music over the F1 so people left. Barmaid asked when the f1 finishes so they can close. Literally wanting us to leave on lap 21/57 Miami formula one. Two pitchers in glass pitchers, barmaid came over and poured them into plastic cups to clean dishes😅. Won’t be back.. AVOID!

Quite possibly the worst bar in Newcastle. Calls itself a sports bar but have no idea how to set up TVs correctly. Using different feeds so some TVs are on a broadcast that's behind what is on others. One of the main TVs above the bar was off and no one thought that maybe it would be sensible to turn it on. The staff behind the bar were so slow that the Geography department at Northumbria Uni should study them instead of glaciers (that's when they aren't just standing round the corner on their phones). All drinks were served in plastic glasses and the beer was flat, so I switched to cider and it was warm. An absolute hole that I'll never be going back to. Minus five stars.

Overpriced The commentary was 10 seconds behind the screens. It was really distracting and hard to get into the game. When I complained the manager said it was an "internet issue" and he couldn't fix it You're a sports bar, that's literally why we're here.

Possibly the stickiest floor this side of a cinema, friendly helpful staff. Big space inside, deafening cheesy party music being played. I was surprised that it was actually a decent pint of Guinness served, fair play to them for that

Was the only bar that would show the rugby ireland vs England now they muted the rugby for football but at least we got to see it lol not enough stuff on place was bouncing and they absolutely did not have enough staff for the amount of people in there but good bar the lads had food the portion s were small and dident look great tbf nice bar though

Went here because it's a "sports bar". Whilst they showed the Premier League game on the big screen and on various tvs throughout, they chose not to play the sound and instead have loud music and a DJ, despite this being the Saturday lunchtime kick off! Not very good for a "sports bar" Also, bar staff kept not charging the match day price discounts, including the same guy having to be reminded each time he served one of our group. Don't know if he did that intentionally or not. Honestly there are better sports bars to be found in Newcastle.

Food was really good once it came. Took ages tho. No service other than putting food down, no condiments or cutlery. Atmosphere far too loud, DJ vulgar.

Class bar, good atmosphere and decent food too! Entertainment on Friday and Saturday. Screens on every wall and the outdoors. Beer pong, pool and karaoke. What’s not to love!

For some reason I haven't been in here for years but we gave it a go last weekend and found it to be really good with a great atmosphere

Grosse Sportsbar mit Aussenbereich welcher überdacht ist. Sportübertragungen können innen und außen verfolgt werden. Allein außen sind sechs riesige Flat-TV an der Decke angebracht und somit von allen Sitzplätzen einsehbar. Dazu gibt es innen noch Billard und Darts. Die Getränkeauswahl ist sehr gross.

Just arrived at Bar 52 with 2 friends and was told that my Scottish £20 note was not legal tender because it was a fake!!!!!!! Do the bosses of this pub really discriminate against Scottish guys, what a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very friendly staff, we ordered potato skins and honestly one of the best things I’ve ever eaten would recommend!!

Part of city pub crawl , very nice atmosphere. Busy but pleasant. Good variety of music and drinks available. The shot stick was an interesting activity.

Went on a Saturday afternoon - place is clearly very popular as it was very busy. My friend had booked a table for 4 to help guarantee us a seat. The price of drinks are about average but the wine was clearly very cheap! We ordered a couple of pizzas and side… the pizzas are awful - you get better quality pizzas to cook at home from Asda haha. But at least the fries were decent! The music on our visit was brilliant - great choice from the DJ and the random entertainment provided a good laugh. I certainly wouldn’t return in a hurry as it’s not for me but I understand why it’s popular amongst men. Oh - and the ladies toilets are an absolute shambles. Dirty and locks missing on many of the doors. Shocking

Pizza tasted frozen and pints are pricey

We started our pubcrawl from this place. They have nice beer towers and serve the gin tonic in the appropriate glasses (not like the other bars in plastic cups 🤣) Nice terrace outside!

Plenty of space with loads of TVs where you can watch your favourite sports event

Awful service. Demand money up front to reserve table. Then to use the bar tab it’s table service only. Then it’s at least a 10min wait to order. Then 30min wait for drinks. Can’t order at the bar. Try to order shots and waitress lies that we have to order from shot girl who then won’t let you spend your bar tab and wants to charge more than the bar. Total shambles.

One of our favourite places to hang out. Thursday’s they run few offers and we get beer for 2 pounds . Game nights are fun. We have tried potato skin fries are really yumm!!! The out door space is really amazing. It’s a great space to chill with friends and have some amazing time.

Good vibe ,perfect for wa5ching matches ,cleam outdoor and indoor seating Qr codes on table make online ordering easier however drinks can be a bit expensive but worth it for the atmosphere especially when Newcastles playing

Great bar for sports, drinking and dancing !

Terrible service. You can only order on the app and not at the bar. We waited up to an hour for drinks each time we ordered. Wrong orders arrived to our table. Some drinks didn't arrive. Music so loud you have to shout. Strange place.

Really poor. Yes it's match day but that's not a surprise so staff accordingly. 45 minutes for drink order. Well over an hour for food. Not enough staff. Nobody cares.

All lovely and a good stop if you are a Bud lover like me. But the reason I gave 4 stars are they are short staffed. But not something like you guess. They have no food but pizza. Because they have no chef. All the lovely food, snacks...etc which were previously advertised are gone. Hopefully they will be back soon.

Great place staff are very polite and professional good choice of drinks and plenty of places to sit, great outdoor area with plenty of screens. I'd definitely recommend this place.

If you're looking to watch sport... Don't go here. A great place if you're looking to go on a night out but a sports bar this is not. Service was slow due to the crowded nature of this nightclub. This is a nightclub disguising itself as a sports bar in broad daylight.

Very big open space when we arrived, 2 pool tables to use, Karaoke machine too and cheap drinks. Nice outdoor area too! Would recommend for anybody wanting for a place to go on a Friday night.

Booked to watch the rugby and paid £80 to reserve a table which was redeemable against our food tab. On arrival there were no serving staff anywhere and the bar staff were overwhelmed with people complaining. Could not order even a drink let alone food. Worst of all, kick off came and went and all the TVs were showing Mastermind!! An absolute calamity of a bar. We left to go and watch the game elsewhere. Avoid, there’s far better options in Newcastle.

Not a comfortable place to be to watch sports. Too packed, inside and outside were absolute mayhem. Drinks prices hugely inflated. Tried to say we had gone over double our tab when we hadn’t. Organisation beforehand equally poor. Emailed and called about changing group size >10 times and never got through. Lots of uncomfortable comments made to girls in our group.

Gave our table away to someone else, was our friends bday reservation. We weren't even late, however busy it was, we made the reservation and they gave it away

2022 Imola GP was meh, but Bar 52 never disappoints

I never write bad reviews but for the experience I've had in this place I feel I have too. I ordered chicken wings and they were the worst chicken wings I have ever had in my entire life. Slimey and completely inedible,like they had been thrown in the steamer and then tossed in cheap "korean" bbq sauce.when the waitress asked if I would like to have a fresh portion made, i had to refuse as i cant imagine the "chef" that would send that to a paying customer couldent possibly do any better. The service was also slow but this I can let go as it was a busy Bank Holiday weekend. Just a really bad experience overall.

Good for watching sports. Standard food and beer for a sports bar. Cold and drafty if you're sat near the doors and the temperature outside drops.

Waited 1 hour to get served. Had tables booked. Didn't get them. A hot dog and chips, £10. Done out of a meal too as it was paid for and didn't get it. Staff unfriendly. Wouldn't go back .

The place has really gone down hill in the last few months. The new app order system is a big issue however standards have dropped massively across the board. I visited to watch the football this past week end. When stepping inside I was immediately hit by an awful smell! It was enough to cause me to sit outside despite it being pretty cold. I approached the bar but before reaching it staff shouted "you have to order on the app" I said that was fine but asked of it was possible to put the football on one of the screens outside, as several were showing rugby but 2 were off all together. The staff members said "I will see what I can do". Needless to say the TVs never came on. Me and my friends ordered 3 pints and two bottles, after 30 minutes the drinks had not arrived. After a long wait at the bar I caught the attention of a staff member and told them I needed to cancel order. The staff said "cancel?" Then walked to the other end of the bar and started pouring pints. I followed them and asked if I would be getting a refund and the staff member simply replied "yes". This isn't the first time I've had trouble with ordering via the website, several weeks ago I ordered a pint and then ordered my food separately, in the hopey drink would arrive before my food. After am hour and 10 minutes my food arrived. I'm still waiting on the beer...... I was a big fan and frequented often when this place was Antlers but the new management have got things very wrong so far.

Zero atmosphere and appalling service. Had booked a table in advance and confirmed this with them which they had no record of. Generally quite quiet and waited 40 minutes for 5 drinks that never arrived.

Unfortunately this place was very expensive for low quality. Fries took almost an hour to come and were £7 for a very small portion and drinks were also over priced, especially since they were served in plastic cups.

We went as a works night out ....first 3 drinks free ....the measures left a lot to be desired

Went pre match. Place empty, cold and smelt like a night club the morning after. Brisket and fries lovely but the wings sent back as they were cold and declined a replacement. Tried to charge for the cold wings I sent back! Not going back.

Great night out especially £2 Thursday, there is 2 pool tables and a beer pong table to play and a DJ playing live music.

Good selection of drinks and nice environment to unwind.

Have been asked to leave a review so will have to put an honest one - disappointed to have to leave a negative review as it is a great sports venue, however our experience last night was very poor. Booked and paid for a table for the Anthony Joshua fight from 9pm. Included in the price were drinks and food. After arriving we waited at our table for half an hour with no food or drink seemingly coming. Went to the bar and was told that they were too busy to serve us. I explained that we had pre-purchased food and drinks but the staff couldn’t have been less interested. I stood by the bar watching people come up and order drinks and have them poured out immediately, all the while multiple staff were simply refusing to serve us our drinks. Went up and down between our table and the bar on 4 separate occasions to ask where our food and drink was, each time either told me they were too busy or that it was ‘on the way’ and if I went to sit down it would arrive in a couple of minutes. Never did. Eventually after the fifth time of harassing and asking to speak to the manager, the drinks arrived at 10:15pm, an hour and a quarter after we had arrived and the fight had already started. Food came another 15 minutes later. Really poor customer service.
