Nearly broke my tooth on a cherry stone in the bakewell slice, very expensive compared to other local tea rooms and staff looked scruffy.

The service was terrible…. a bunch of young girls who appeared to want to be elsewhere. We ordered tea and scones. We drank the tea and still no scones. When we asked about them we were rudely told “it’s coming” and she made no effort to check on them. They came 5 minutes later. We could see other people being treated as an inconvenience and being unhappy. Disappointing in a lovely village where everyone else is so friendly.

My wife and I were welcomed by a member of staff and shown to a table who then proceeded to clear a table where six people had been eating breakfast. My wife had to go to the kitchen to ask for us to be served. The lady apologised and took our order for coffee, tea, a toasted tea cake and a fruit scone. We were served by a young member of staff who needs to be trained in pleasantries. A cheery “good morning” would help. However, our visit was ruined when we discovered that we were charged £1.50 extra per person for jam which had obviously been taken from a catering tin and therefore the quality was no more than average. Due to the fact that Chipping Campden is a town where many people will only visit the once this establishment seems happy to take advantage. I find this, as a person living in Gloucestershire - disappointing.

We visited on two occasions, a Sunday and Monday morning. Found the place to be bustling and the decor/history is great. A lady welcomed us and soon had us seated, she was an absolute delight, however the rest of the staff all much younger just seemed to mope about with no enthusiasm! One girl took our order without writing anything down, the order arrived and was wrong! Wrong on so many parts, wrong drinks, bits missing off the breakfast items, such as no smoked salmon, no sausage in the sandwich etc. Asked for a decaf coffee and were told they had run out! Asked what herbal teas they had and we had a menu literally chucked on the table! WOW! What a shame! Great location, amazing space but let down by the lackluster staff.

Great service & food my only complaint is the cost of the Jam £1.50 & £1.75 for cream this is so expensive and for a tiny amount. I go to Burford garden center which is classed as an expensive place to eat and cream is only 75p & scone & Jam £3.50. I think sadly this tearoom is not being fair to it's customer especially local customer.

Excellent little gem in the gorgeous village of Chipping Camden. We recently visited the area and came across this tea room. The staff were very friendly and amiable, instantly sorting us a table despite there being a large number of us. Service was also very quick! The best hot chocolate we have had and gorgeous cakes! Certainly worth a stop!

Myself and my dear wife visit this tearoom every time we visit the Cotswolds. We were welcomed warmly by a young lady, who then proceeded to take our order and was able to assist us with our choices and any questions we asked. My wife had a sandwich with a salad garnish, which my wife claimed was lovely. I had myself an afternoon tea which to, was splendid! Unfortunately thou love for this tearoom was shortly ruined - as we left, we encountered a member of staff, pacing the path, shouting and swearing on the mobile phone. We could not comprehend why such manager would allow such behaviour - as business owners ourselves, we know to protect and promote the business name. It did not start there. We witnessed the same young lady using rather foul language while surrounded by the few other visitors of the tearooms. Hygiene is poor - toilets unclean, dust and cobwebs in many places, just enough to put you off the food. Staff scratching at their head and continuing to serve customers is NOT hygienic. Manager of this business! Please take a step back and look at what’s going on around you. No hygiene, no manners - it puts a bad name on the Bantam Tearooms, staff are uninterested, apathetic! It is such a shame and makes me ponder upon disbelief. - Jerry

Very disappointed, waited quite a while, then had to ask someone to take our order, we ordered drinks, cream teas and scones, drinks came after about 25 minutes, but no scones came. Where our table was you could see one of the waitresses eating, picking scones up with her hands, no tongs, and putting them on plates, for people to consume, not great to see, in the end we had drank our drinks, and had been in the tea rooms for 50 minutes, and really was put off from eating anything, from what we had seen. Better organization needed, cream teas scones and drinks should of come out together, and more health hygiene training for staff. Certainly will not return.

I’ve been to BTR twice in the last few weeks (and the first time for a year). I’ve always found the food to be excellent, and it was on these recent occasions. On the first occasion one of the young waitresses at times felt disinterested, which was disappointing. Otherwise I found the service to be more than acceptable. Notwithstanding the minor criticism from my experience BTR is one of the finest tea rooms in England (I’d add Berry’s in Church Stretton to that list).

Not bad for tea. Sandwiches ok. Sweet treats ok, nice garden. My sandwich was missing the cucumber that was mentioned on the menu. Sweet treats were better elsewhere. Service nice and friendly and lovely garden. However 8 yellow jacket bees attacked the food at our table in the garden.

We didn’t know what to expect but certainly did not expect this charming studio room with mezzanine so full of character, old and luxurious at the same time. Loved it!

A decent hot chocolate and a sweet man behind the counter, but the individual chocolates are not made on site and are overpriced.

We stayed in SotW for a friends wedding locally. It appeared everyone had come upto the Cotswolds for wedding that weekends at the White Hart was our 5th attempt at finding a spot for dinner - turns out 5th time lucky it was! We had lovely service throughout dinner, fantastic food in a really lovely dining room. Would strongly recommend, nice selection of drinks and main meals, could well be a lovely spot for dinner for two or small groups as well visiting the area.

A most excellent lunch served by incredibly polite and lovely staff. I so enjoyed the food and was mightily impressed with the lovely team Ionela, the manager, who could not do more to make one welcome and Ciaron, Antonina and Safiya all of whom was just so professional, polite and helpful. Absolutely faultless. My thanks to all. Excellent.

A lovely tea shop on the High St. I sat outside the front on the limited pavement seating. The staff were lovely and the food well presented. The pasty was though expensive and there was no wow factor. The ice bun was heavy and sticky. The coffee was delicious. Would return but not spend so much.

Might be nice as a restaurant, but wasn't a good choice for drinks with friends - no beer or cider available on tap. Wine available was far more expensive than it is worth. 'Shop' also very much exploiting the fact it has monopoly on site. £8 for a small box of cereal and some milk. On a positive note, the atmosphere and decor is nice.
