This is not the cheapest place for a fish supper but it is thoroughly decent with good sized portions and nice flaky fish. The Bombay chips here are insanely good - hot, spicy, saucy and fresh-tasting all at the same time!

Will never go there again food was bland and chips under cooked. All 3 of us were ill after eating there fish. Price wise for or what you get it's over priced.

Awful chips rock hard . Dry as a bone. Haddock thin an not that fresh... batter thick an oily. I came here a few years ago and it was great. Totally gone downhill

Called whilst shopping in the area. This used to be very good quality at reasonable prices, not any more if today's offerings are anything to go by. If this fish is haddock then it's not what I remember. Poor quantity and dripping in oil, chips hard texture, mushy peas watery and flavourless, even the curry sauce and gravy were very poor quality. We ate what we could and binned the majority of the meal. We didn't complain to the staff as they can only serve the food they are supplied. Poor produce at not so reasonable prices. I seriously doubt the fish served is haddock. We will not be calling again and would not recommend anyone to try this more than disappointing.

Me and my partner went to Banny’s . we was looking forward to having fish and chips. I’ve heard so much hype and how good the food is. We ordered 2 haddock and chips with sides I was so gutted as the chips looked awful, I was expecting chunky chips soft inside and crunchy on the outside but quite the opposite they were odd bits and odd marks on the chips been thrown on a plate with no presentation nothing to it just boring plate of food, the fish had more batter then fish. The food was luke warm I paid £36 including drinks. The inside is lovely but it doesn’t add up to its reputation. We wished we went to Banister’s instead as they are fantastic with everything they do and food is excellent there. They need to read theses reviews as it’s not good for business and revamp themselves.

Totally overrated chips were cold scraps fish £6-95 a real rip off not going anywhere near either of their shops again try Holt’s in Nelson super food

Picked up fish and chips for lunch. Very disappointed with the quality these days. Very greasy chips, fish average and not a patch on what it used to be like. Won’t be going back

I drove all the way from London to try this colorful looking fish and to Ser how it was. It was freshly made and tasted good but the only thing and the main thing was the spring onions were full of sand, every bite was crunchy until I got fed up and stopped eating! This needs to stop! Maybe the company should use green onions that are closed on the ends rather than those with a hole. See pics attached.

The fish and chips here are as bad as there other branch at colne . To expensive and the food is not good for the price !! They say they serve proper chips that’s s joke rack time we have been the chips are cold or have been kept warm for ages making them dry and hard . Will not be going back to either place

The fish and chips was reasonable. Spoiled my the blaring rave/techno music they were playing at full blast. These wards are to fill my minimum word count.

The fish was the thinnest I have ever seen top price for the smallest fish. The box was swimming in fat and I don’t think the dripping is the best thing to cook in

They can tell you to takeaway only even if they have seats inside. They discriminate against you. So mind that. Its a first one for me as this has never happened. Strict action should be taken against these people. It was a lady who was serving at counter and said it will be only take out as other family member were eating and there were plenty space.

Dropped in every aspect of its business. We have been here for many years and always were impressed with the staff. service and quality of food. Last night was so poor in everyway we sat waiting for 10+ mins waiting to be served then when the food arrived the portions and quality was awful,it was easy to compare as I only ever order the Traditional Fish & Chips . I have taken many business friends here over the years but we will vote with our feet NEVER AGAIN 😱

I’ve had food often from here. The tikka fish is absolutely delicious and the curry sauce is the best chippy curry sauce ever! The portions are generous. Well worth a visit.

Visited on the 28th of April 2023 for two haddock and chips. Upon getting them home I found both fish had dried and shrivelled within the chewy batter. The chips were hard and chewy. I wrote to the restaurant the same day.....and still not received any reply. Truly poor quality food; the service of the staff was very pleasant.

Delicious fish n chips after watching burnley play, first visit to bannys after recommendation from family who have visited the colne one. Service was quick and efficient and the food was fab, Batter lovely and crispy, fish white and fresh, and the chips were so good , ate everything too, average size portions.

Decided to have a treat for tea after a busy day. Went for haddock, chips and mushy peas as this is my favourite at Colne. What a shock when I got it home. The lovely piece of filleted haddock covered in a golden crispy batter had been replaced with a flat, almost circular piece of smooth dark brown fish swimming in grease! The chips were similar and the mushy peas were hard! It is. To say I was disappointed was an insult. How can two businesses under the same banner be so different, one so good and the other so poor, Would definitely not recommend and will never ever be persuaded to give it another try!

Well I must say fish doesn’t get much worse than this. I had haddock which was a skinny piece in vey great batter. It was just so poor.

Ordered take away fish and chips from the Drive thru. The take out box had finger marks all over it. Yes i can understand the workers wear gloves however if theres going to be masala marks or food marks (red powder) finger printed on the take away box how off putting.Will be avoiding until standards are sorted out.

We're just back from visiting the drive through and it was AMAZING!! We've never been before but will definitely be back. We all had fish, chips, peas and curry sauce. Everyone's food was fresh, hot and really tasty. I worried it may be greasy (like some chippys) but it wasn't at all, it was really good quality and we will definitely be returning! Samaria served us & was LOVELY and so helpful. Well done Bannys

What a waste of £20, really greasy, luke warm. Really can't see how they can charge these prices for this rubbish. I would not bother, don't waste your money

A drive thru fish and chip place. Why isn’t there more around!? No wonder the place is busy. I like the menu, too. The mozzarella sticks, the burgers, the desserts. The only downfall which is a major one is the chips, they aren’t great - which is quite strange!

Called 2 weeks ago drove to beauty spot to eat only to find 3 Small milk sachets for 3 tea/coffee. Called today same order asked for reasonable amount of milk drove to beauty spot to eat only to find no utensils /napkins too greasy to eat with fingers ended up driving home food cold wasted.

Very dissapointed this week , at the takeaway , Fish had very thin batter and still not cooked properly { wet and slimy inside } we had to take most of it off as it was nasty , chips were some hot and some warm , The staff were as pleasent as ever , always polite , { cant fault the staff at all } , We only drove to k f c car park to eat them , they are usualy red hot , The main upset was a big hair in the box , put me right off , thats me done with Bannys ,

Visited for the first time. We ordered Tikka fish and chips, but got 2 smallish strips of fish on a bed of chips. It looked a fraction of the size of a picture posted on their website!! It was tasty and the dressing, onions and fresh chillies were very good. £15 for 2 was a bit pricey for what we received.

Good food and still always hot by the time I get home; however, the service is soooo slow. Staff have always been polite. Could do with more choices in cold drinks though. Apart from the service, very good!

Visited here for the first time, really wanted a fish butty and was advised that the signature fish burger was the closest equivalent, extremely disappointed with the burger. The fish was oily and an extremely small portion of fish for the cost. Melted cheese on top of fish with mayonnaise which is a strange combination. Chips were excellent, fresh and a good portion and the service was fantastic just a shame that the size and quality of the burger was not value for the money . A traditional fish butty would be more appropriate.

Once again, Banny's take away never fails to deliver. Great quality - large fish, perfect chips and superb service. Well done (Josh ?) and the team, We will certainly be back. My first visit I chose fish bites. The food was hot but was served on a come plate hence the meal become cold sooner.I had requested brown sauce and immediately offered tomato sauce as the person had not listened to my request.No one came to remove my plate and offer a dessert. I therefore paid for my meal and gave the person my feedback as I’m doing now and suggested a warm plate for the food and for someone to at least check if I wanted to order a dessert.An adequate portion of main meal though and cooked nice.Would I return? Yes I would try again.

Usually pay a fortnightly visit or thereabouts for a great portion of freshly cooked fish, chips and curry sauce. Very tasty and not greasy. Usually adequate and filling portion sizes . Would just say a bit on the pricey side compared to other chip shops!

We are fans of Bannys in Colne and tried the Burnley one as it’s closer to us. This one is just like other fast food outlets. You do not get the same choices as Colne. No garden peas, no coleslaw, no pepper. Plastic cutlery, paper cups etc. The fish and chips were OK, good juicy haddock. Will definitely stick to the original one in future.

Firstly, this is not a true drive-thru, you park in their car park and order at the counter, but they do have a large car park so there is plenty of room. We have been twice in the last 3 weeks and both times the fish & chips tasted superb.Cooked fresh to order and served in a nice card box, you can actually eat these outside as they have a number of picnic tables available - they also serve hot drinks if you want one. The portions of chips are really big so go for the small portion if you don't want too many. In fact, even the small portion is enough to share.They have Bombay Chips on the menu that look really interesting and seem very popular. We shall be trying these next time.

Went into Bannys in the way home from boundary mill tonight as we always do , but tonight the fish was dry and tasteless has the management changed ? If so they need to get it back to where it was before , the toilets were also disgusting with toilet paper all over the floor and the were dirty , I don’t think we will be going again as it’s completely put

I wasn't overly impressed, the fish was ok but nothing special, the price was reasonable, but it wasn't a quick service, fortunately there wasn't a queue.

Came here today with my family and ordered the Peri Peri haddock with the Bombay Chips. It's a little on the more expensive side however the amount of food you get is great, and the taste goes very well together. Fish and Chips with a little spice. I'd definitely recommend this combo.

Called for take-out fish n chips and was very disappointed. The fish was translucent and completely tasteless, batter was absolutely saturated and dripping with oil, chips had a lot of eyes and scabby bits on them. Nice boxes and paper bag though.

After reading the reviews I was really looking forward to Bannys fish and chips. The place was reasonably busy with a long line of cars for the drive-thru. I ordered haddock and chips, mushy peas and gravy. The member of staff was polite and friendly however the fish was awful! It was all batter ! It was cold and after opening the extremely hard batter the fish was about 1/3 smaller than the batter shell. The chips were not evenly cooked, some were soft, others were hard and under cooked. The peas and gravy were fine. Next time I’ll try a different fish and chip shop when I visit.

We went because we had been recommended this was super Fish and Chips in a very attractive llarge restaurant called Banny's with an attractive nautical atmosphere. It was excellent . I think they serve the best Haddock money can buy - it was just delicious with nicely cooked chips and of course with a generous portion of mushy peas . And we enjoyed a refreshing drink of Tea. All severed by excellent staff . Lots of Car Parking right by the Banny's Restaurant - part of Boundary Mill. So can pop in to Banny's after shopping at Boundary Mill - next to the far east end of the M65.. So easy to get to from all over East Lancashire..

I have been going to Banny's at Colne for years even havibg major birthdays and anniversarys there so thought we would give the one in Burnley a try.

Me along with my family visit bannys regularly and it is a family favorite, the food is delicious, served fast and it good value. I personally really like the tikka fish and highly recommend it.
