Bandits in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

My husband and I went to Bandits today for lunch and I have to say we were extremely pleased with every aspect of our experience. The staff were all friendly, the food was outstanding and the general atmosphere was relaxed. The menu is mainly grilled cheese sandwiches but there is a good choice of different versions to please all palates. I ordered a cheese steak but was really pleased to learn that I could order half a sandwich so I could indulge in an array of side dishes. My husband had the buffalo chicken and for the table we shared tomato soup, chips and Mac and cheese. Everything is homemade, including the ketchup. I really can't rave enough! We will be back, we will tell all our friends and we do 100% recommend Bandits. Keep up the good work guys

Freshly made tasty food, lovely staff very friendly and the decor was fantastic, would eat again 10/10 and recommend to people.

Our family was visiting from Yorkshire and I wanted somewhere to go for lunch without going across the bridge to Plymouth. Bandits was the perfect choice. Portions are plentiful with a great choice and tasty food. I had the chefs special soup that was so tasty and the grilled sandwiches were so filling we didn’t need much to eat for the rest of the day. The staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. Thank you Bandits.

Well in spite of the ratings we ve had nice food today steak n cheese toasted sandwiches and a couple of lattes at £10.50 each food wise for toasties it is not the best economically but very tasty and cooked fresh while we waited. So hopefully they ll get some better reviews soon.

My first; (and last) visit to the establishment was not very accommodating. Considering I was alone, I felt the speed at which I was served, was painstakingly slow. On top of this the chairs were uncomfortable and tables were very sticky. The food was not appetising at all, and overpriced for the quality of the food. There was a musty smell to the place, dust over the photos adorning the walls. I wouldn't even recommend this place to someone who lives on the street, as I'm certain they'd also leave feeling very underwhelmed by the quality

Visited Bandit after the closure of my initial choice Foreign Muck. The sister restaurant had a freezing atmosphere due to aggressive air conditioning. Jackets were a must, and when inquired, was told it prevents window steaming. Limited menu with only toasties and sandwiches. A grueling 75-minute wait for the food. Rating: 6/10; too carb-heavy, no kids menu, left feeling unwell. Attempted to ask a waitress a question, met with rudeness. Uncomfortable dining experience; staff demeanor was obnoxious. Not recommended.

Bad experience, staff more concerned with chatting and laughing with chefs. One young waitress picking up the slack for the rest. Horrible smells circulating. Others were well looked after but not my wife and me. Felt sorry for waitress who tried her best to look after everyone as rest off staff were were so relaxed and not concerned you thought they were there to be cool. Looks and sounds good but problems are within the whole environment and service. Book by cover comes to mind, what a shame been a lot of money invested apparently but ran poorly and trendy but not good employees

The sandwiches and snacks in this recently opened eating and drinking venue are amazing. Outside terrace overlooking main street is great when weather permits and internally comfortable and good atmosphere. Also, while there, someone asked to bring their dog inside. They mouthed off when this was refused, but we and I suspect others rejoiced at a place willing to refuse these creatures, which irritate many. Well done Bandits, dogs should be controlled outdoors or at home. We don't all love them!

Another average breakfast with an excessive price slapped on it sadly. Miserable staff apart from the one who served us she seemed to be doing all the running around bless her. At least it was clean & tidy.

Bandits is a great place to eat and one of the best spots in Saltash! Atmosphere is lovely and it is so important to support local businesses now-a-days!! The reviews on here are unfair. We were served by Emma, who was very friendly and absolutely brilliant. no issue was too big or small, she ensured our dietary requirements were all catered for and the food came out in a timely manner and piping hot! There is a huge shortage of chefs in Cornwall which may explain others waits but we had no issues whatsoever!!

Was really looking forward to it, as eaten in foreign muck on many occasions, this place tables dirty and sticky, food was terrible I had the patty burger it was served in toasted bread with cheap cheddar cheese, not what I expected a burger is a burger, patty was boiled and not seasoned, no frills 2 ciders, small coke, chips cobb salad burger patty with a side of chips over £40 not great didn’t complain at the time as would of been embarrassed Please sort out your menu as it’s terrible, foreign muck was closed as they had to send their cooks over to run bandits, if I was you get real chefs in who can handle service as the waiting times for soup sandwiches and salads should neve be 30 to 45 minutes

I asked for cob salad and was highly disappointed tiny amount of chicken and bacon The bowl was full of salad leaves. Daughter ordered mac and cheese none left so opted for fries and was brought chips . But we waited long enough so just ate them. This is not a comfortable place to eat the benches are hard and table was very sticky gives impression that it’s dirty. Would I go back No. Would I recommend No .

We love Foreign Muck, and previously visited Bandits for coffee and cake, we eagerly awaited their breakfast service, and decided to give ourselves the treat of sampling this on a Sunday morning. Sorry to say it was not the treat we hoped for. Not overly busy at 10.30 but a 45 minute wait for our food. The acrid smell of griddled food just hung in the air, and a member of the team opened the front door. Think they need to take a look at their extraction system. The food was reasonable, and poached eggs nice and runny, which is not easy to do. However, on balance I don't think we'll be returning, thanks to the long wait plus the acrid cooking smells clinging to our clothes on our return home.

Soooooo gutted. Foreign Muck is my fave place to eat, so we were expecting big things or their sister eatery. The bad.... Service was a little slow, but the young waiter was so sweet this really didn't matter. The older lady wasn't very kind about...

Drove past and liked the look of this place so thought we would give it a try. Wow what a great place excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Will be recommending this to our friends, hope to be back soon

What a great place for a night out, no pressure to have food they do light evening meals if you wish. I had three cherry coctails very nice. Music ideal, atmosphere brilliant really enjoyed ourselves.
