Ban Di Bul Korean Restaurant in Liverpool

The host was on the phone when we entered and gestured towards a table we should sit at. We sat down and did not remove our jackets due to the cold atmosphere. Moments later she came over and told us to scan a qr code to order. The food was ok - slightly overpriced. She later came with the bill and asked that we submit a google review. As I knew I would potential leaving a negative review I was waiting for her to leave my side before submitting an honest review. As I was taking a while to submit the review she assumed I did not how to. She then proceeded to scroll to the top of my screen and click 5 stars. I tried to bide by time, by scrolling through the options but she would not leave my side, staring intently into my phone. Fed up with being under duress I submitted 2 stars and she finally left. At this point I was severely uncomfortable and left immediately.

Best in Liverpool to Dine out with family and Friends... staff are so supportive through entire service.... Love the Place ❤️

I had a lovely meal at Ban Di Bul! A beautiful glass of white wine and the BiBimBup which was absolutely delicious! The staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is great, not too noisy which was great for me as a solo traveller! Five stars!

The waitresses were friendly. All of the meat dishes appeared to come first. I am vegetarian and I had to wait for a long time the ramen. I needed to provide a few reminders to the staff that my food had not arrived. Once it did arrive it was great food and worth the wait which was amazing.

Koreans may be disappointed when they come here. Don't expect too much

I thought the low star rating was not good, but it turned out to be okay. The sauce the chef grilled was delicious, the texture of the meat was also appropriate, and there were small portion options. The experience was okay.

Amazing service and really good food. Came for ramadan iftar with friends as they serve halal meat. Food came within 15 minutes, they were really fast and accommodating for our iftar. Brought us water as soon as we sat down. Staff was very friendly. Very much appreciated <33

My dad and I were really looking forward to coming here to celebrate my 10 year anniversary from moving home from Korea. The decore of the restaurant is very tired and tatty. The dining room was really cold and lots of the other guests still had their outside coats on. There are no menus and you have to order using a QR code which was very inconvenient. Luckily I was able to do this but my dad wouldn't have been able to. The food menu is very extensive which is good. We ordered a set meal for two with lots of meat to grill at our table. The drinks menu is pathetic though, no spirits, no Korean beer and a very small soup and makeolli selection. One bottle of soju was £16 (350ML) so we reluctantly rejected it. The meat was tasty and the portions were generous however it was very inauthentic. The kimchi was underspiced and didn't have enough salt. The portions were definitely too small for two people. The Korean rice was perfect though and very tasty. The staff were cheerful and friendly earned a good tip. I don't think I'd go back or recommend it to others.

Really not great at all considering the price you have to pay. It cost me £120 for me and my girlfriend for a sharing platter and 2 rounds of drinks. Nothing authentic at all, would not recommend

I've never had so many flavour burst in my mouth. It was a symphony of flavour. If you are picky eater this place might change ur mind of asian/korean food.

Table placement meant we were a bit chilly when the door opened and closed but when the food arrived it was good quality. Good service and app worked great. Definitely come again. Staff are lovely too.

Unreal food, absolutely delicious, light aromatic and so moreish, you just want to keep on eating. Service was lovely although if I’m being picky, I will say one small note, I think having no paper menus takes a little away from the customer service aspect of it all. Even without, Lisme (hoping I haven’t butchered that spelling too much) was attentive when it came to answering our questions. The venue itself could be a little warmer and maybe some light background music just to make the experience a 10/10. That being said, 100% recommend and will be back. Overall rating: 8.2/10

Halal? For anyone thinking this is halal because they say so, it’s not certified nor does their kitchen prepare the food to avoid contamination of non-halal food.

Return visit, food was great and well cooked. Think there may have been a miss communication as the meat came out pre cooked and we weren’t able to cook it ourselves but it was delicious non the less. Service was ok the servers were very polite but we didn’t get much interaction other than when we paid and got the dishes as you had to order through a barcode. I did get a menu after asking as I do sometimes struggle to read menus on my phone. I think it’s a great place to enjoy authentic Korean BBQ.

Hay muchos lugares coreanos en el Reino Unido, así que me gusta pasar por este cuando puedo. Pero para ser honesto, esto una vez fue un favorito, pero todo parece estar bajando una pendiente resbaladiza cuesta abajo. La razón por la que creo es que parecen estar CORTANDO ESQUINAS para sacar el máximo partido a sus márgenes. Exigen que uses un código QR para pedir comida, pero el wifi que proporcionan (para que puedas acceder al QR) es extremadamente irregular. A pesar de ver nuestra frustración por los repetidos problemas de acceso al menú, no se ofreció ayuda hasta que tuvimos que pedir el menú en papel. Cuando nos los trajeron, el encargado nos informó que los precios en el menú impreso son los precios antiguos y deberíamos pedir £ 1 a cada plato. Esto eleva la mayoría de los platos a al menos £ 14. Un refresco (no una lata, pero un vaso) es £ 4 que es ... ridículo. Los tamaños de los platos son pequeños. Lo peor es que NO ESTÁN CALIENTES EN ABSOLUTO, lo que se supone que es de rigor para los platos asiáticos, especialmente los platos asiáticos picantes. El bulgogi estaba en un plato chispeante pero no chisporroteaba, ni siquiera estaba caliente. Lo cual es triste porque en realidad sabía muy bien - - bien condimentado y cortado en rodajas finas. ¿Por qué no mantenerlo caliente? La sopa Sun Du Bu Chigae (sopa de tofu de mar) era agradablemente picante. . . PERO OTRA VEZ... no caliente, apenas caliente! ¿Qué pasa? Había unas cuantas cosas de pulpo bebé y... 2 pedazos pequeños de mejillones fuera de la concha. Luego está el Dolsot Bibimbap - - algunos trozos de cerdo, pepino, huevo, arroz ... frío y tienes que seguir mezclándolo en una olla chisporroteante apenas chispeante para tratar de calentar el arroz. Otra cosa: Era un día frío... tenían dos puertas... mantenían la puerta exterior abierta... así que cada vez que entraban nuevos huéspedes... una corriente de aire grave soplaba a través de los huéspedes que ya estaban dentro. Ninguna consideración de que la puerta exterior debe mantenerse cerrada. No creo que el servicio fuera excepcional. Si pagas en la caja, no te traen la cuenta. Espero que los propietarios tomen esta retroalimentación de la mejor manera posible que es mejorar. Odiaría ver el lugar cerrado... por el precio que cobras... deberías asegurarte de que la calidad de la comida sea buena y lo más importante, servida como debería ser servida. Lo último que quieres que tus clientes o invitados sientan es que están siendo atenuados - y - atenuados o que están siendo examinados. Estoy seguro de que cuesta poco mantener la comida caliente y asegurarse de que se mantengan lo más fresco posible. Espero que mejores y te estoy animando a que mejores.

Terrible experience at Ban Di Bul. Service was extremely slow, the upstairs was freezing, and we had to ask multiple times for tap water but never got any. The QR code menu didn’t work, so staff had to manually input our order. We weren’t even offered drinks until after our food arrived. Worst of all, the waitress insisted on a 5-star review for a free drink and even touched my phone to rate them 5 stars without asking. The food was average at best—not worth the hassle. Wouldn’t recommend.

We arrived and were seated upstairs and noticed that all the customers sat upstairs were in big jackets. We soon found out why as there is no heating in the entire restaurant and the windows at the back had big wholes smashed in them. We asked to move downstairs as it was so cold our faces were numb. We noticed it was not much warmer downstairs so assuming that the business is struggling due to the lack of heating and general run down state of the building. We then were bought many dishes that were not ours and had to keep sending them back. I was then told I ordered beef which definitely wasn’t the case as I don’t eat beef. By this time the starters had come after the mains and we had to wait for my meal to be cooked so all the food was cold and this was probably also because the restaurant was so cold. We never received a starter and we bought this up at the end with the bill and we were told by an overly giggly staff member that it was a busy Saturday night and not our fault. There was no effort to amend the bill other than ‘kindly’ offering to remove the starter off the bill that we never received. The food was nice but will not be returning.

I had to leave a 5 star review to order drink

I would give this place a 0 star but since I can’t I will give it a 1. Service was the worst I have ever had. We asked multiple times for water and never received them they did not bring us menus until we asked 3 times. Their set up for ordering food is glitchy and doesn’t actually work. We ordered our food on the website and they then had to manually input all our orders anyways. The food came out cold and small portion sizes. I order to order a drink we were forced to leave a 5 start review before they could process our order.

Immersive experience and very helpful staff

Food was delicious and beyond my expectations. I ordered spicy beef soup and beef noodles. Good quality food and reasonable pricing. To top it off it’s halal ☺️ 4 stars as debit looked s bit old and dusty and menus looked grimy.

It's the worst meal I've eaten in my life. This restaurant doesn't deserve one star.

The food ordered tasted is below average. Ox tail soup was not hot on cold an evening meal, and MSG is too much. Totally lost "authentic" when side dishes are Chargeable and Pricing is ridiculous. However, service was good, but the sound produced when walking up the stars is irritating for me.

We have been to Ban di bul restaurant twice. Their customer service is excellent and the food is quite nice. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to try Korean food.

Fews year ago I been there and it’s was amazing. I think they change the owner already. Now It’s was so expensive for kimchi , lettuce and the drinks there. I ordered a coke and it’s cost £4.90. The staff there not professional, we ordered 2 lettuces they just bring one and when we asked for that she haven’t say sorry or anything to respect customers. Will nerver comeback there again
