EXCELLENT CHIPPY , EXCELLENT FOOD , EXCELLENT PRICE , GIVE THIS CHIPPY 5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Getting home and feeling underwhelmed, 3 trays of sausage, chips and gravy, top tray bob on, next 2, shy on chips, and only one sausage in each, not cool at all for over £15, felt pricey, but didn't argue as nornally spot on 😳

For a treat we decided to give a try. Mine was fish & chips the fish was massive and thick thought it would be mostly batter how wrong was I, fish was pure white a good inch or more thick the best I think I've ever had and chips where plentiful and hot well worth the money and the taxi fare there and back.

Staff are always wholesome. Feel like part of the family.

Terrible. The fish wasn't cooked properly. And you'd be better following a tree surgeon and eating his wood chips. They were really that bad.

Asked older lady 3 times for veggie spring roles only to find they were pork ones when we bit into them at home. Spent 25 quid and meal was ruined. Won't be returning..

What chippy microwaves the pies. Disgusting

We loved this place when it first opened, however nowhere as good as it was. Missing items on order had to go back twice not so much meat just lots of sauce. Also pricing very random always changed well more than advertised price. Such a shame

Sad loss of a great chippy. Staff loud and gobby, not very good customer service skills. Food lacklustre and bland. Pity as this used to be the best around. Staff need to wear gloves and hair nets. So unhygienic.

Usually go to Eaton road but unfortunately shut. Food not great, mediocre. Will not go again. Chicken like jelly, just not nice.

I dont many reviews but tbh gave this place benefit that nights r busy but honestly each time iv visited chips are appaulling warmed up crispy really doesn't deserve its place in the village many people come to woolton really need to go down the road to a better chippy with better staff and better staff

Popped in on my way home from work on friday night, ordered special fried rice and carton of curry, food was nice and fresh and was well priced, only downside was the 2 dragon women working behind the counter! Couldn't shout any louder if they tried, 1 lost her temper with someone who had a few drinks and hadnt decided what he wanted yet and the other 1 was pretending to clean the kebab spit so she could pick her nose with out everyone seeing her but dont think she realised the shiny metal service was acting as a mirror. My head was pounding by the time i walked out from the chorus of does anyone want a spam fritter throwing in? Shame!

We always have a lovely fish dinner from here. Generous portions and good value. Very friendly service.

Just came back looking forward to a Fish Dinner. Never been so disappointed. Really soggy and fish was awful! Wasnt flaky more bity and grim. Absolutely no flavour in gravy, peas or fish. Had to do a covid taste it was so bland! Really disappointed usually go byrnes but it was shut. Definately wouldnt get fish dinner from here again.

Ordered a special foo yung nothing special about it no beef or prawn in it just thinly chopped up chicken and ham and char Sui and loads of onions a real let down definitely not worth the money won’t be going back truly a let down

Boss chippy , The Best salt and pepper sui mui in Scouseland .. not the greatest menu . Bit if ya hungry, ya wont go wrong here !

Chips too dear, don't change cooking oil often enough.

Thought that we would try this chippy and it was far superior to our usual chippy. Not a spot of grease on the chips really enjoyable and the fish cake was the best I've had. If you like your chips well worth a shot.

Just had our compulsory good Friday fish and chips it was top notch no complaints all cooked fresh bit of a wait but worth it will return

Nice chippy enjoy the food , but the owner speaks to his staff terrible , made us feel uncomfortable. If you have to speak to your staff in that way ( which is wrong ) do not do it in front off a audience or maybe that just gives you some kind off power trip . I personally think your just rude and unprofessional

The food here is amazing! So tasty and enjoyable! Good prices, big portions and friendly staff make this place easy to recommend. Mask is required. The only downside is cash only. Which is quite disappointing, especially given the current issues. Would have liked to have seen card payments or crypto.

went to this chippy for first time last Friday.got 4 fish 2 large chips ...chips very nice fish not good the batter was rock hard and to much on a small piece of fish had to break it off and I do like a nice fluffy batter....would only go again if fish had less batter really lets itdown

I haven’t been to this chippy since the change in ownership. I ordered fish and small portion of chips (which were very large for 1 person). When I got them home I had to take the batter off as it was too thick. The fish was tasteless! The chips were ok but I found a dark hair in them. Not impressed as staff weren’t wearing head coverings and a disappointing meal. Won’t be going there. Bring back the previous owners!!

Salt n pepper chicken wings last night were lovely.

Food amazing, hot and delicious. Portions huge. Salt n pepper box and salt n pepper noodle boxes amazing. Fish cooked fresh to order. Can't fault it 10/10

Waited half hour all in all, which was understandable due to present times, but meal wasn't worth waiting for. Had beef curry,fried rice an chips. Worst meal we've ever had, was completely flavourless, chips were crap too. Won't b going back.

Brilliant fish-so fresh and good in size. Asked if they had children's fish fingers but they didn't have any so the older gentleman hand made some lovely fresh goujon's. Lovely friendly service and good price too for quality food.

Came across this Chippy by chance, as it was late on a Saturday evening and are only option was going to be 24 hours Mc Donalds, and it wasn't what I wanted after a long day/night in work! So Lucky to find this Hidden Gem! I can honestly say the food was gorgeous, staff very friendly and went out there way to make the food how you wanted it... An extremely tasty and the owner even let me taste some of the salt and pepper options incase I didn't like it before ordering. Well, I can say the least we walked out with a Chinese meal Beef Green Pepper with Noodles, Salt and Pepper Chicken Meal, Lg Curry, Lg Chips, Portion of Veg Spring Rolls. 'The Village Chippy' did not disappoint! We have been back several times over the last 3 months. Even recommended to family and friends that have all changed from the local Chippy and one said there Sweet and Sour Chicken was the best they have ever tasted and won't go any where else from now on... keep up the good work and brilliant food!

Too many staff, place looks dirty ... especially the kitchen, fish aren't fresh like the previous owners, will definitely be giving this place a wide berth from now on!!!

Very clean chippy, staff really nice, lovely friendly lady behind the counter. Wow salt and peppar chicken and chips gorgeous. I live in south wales & i would travel up just for their salt and peppar food. Will come back next time i am up their visiting family x

Fish is excellent, so fresh and gorgeous batter, chips are so tasty and you get a huge portion, and the staff are so polite and friendly and cannot do enough for you. I won't go anywhere else now. Go try them... You WON'T be disappointed.

Returned home with the takeaway. Opened it up to find a load of burnt chips. Soggy savory cake. Total waist of money. Definitely do not recommend.

If someone pays for a fish dinner with curry sauce, can you make sure you put a fish in the tray !!! Instead of leaving it out..

The nicest, proper fish and chips l've had in a long time. The fish was really top quality, fresh cod with a tasty batter. Not tried the Chinese meals as yet but my son had enjoyed a lovely chicken kebab - lovely staff too.

De hecho, el "Village Chippy", West Derby village, Liverpool vale la pena recorrer la distancia para buscarlo.Qué hallazgo. Quedó claro después de conversar con el propietario, que es un chef experimentado, que su lugar, incluida la fritura, estaba inmaculadamente limpio. Aún más agradable pude ordenar mi pescado en una cama de ensalada acompañada de una pequeña porción de papas fritas. Muy saludable, muy agradable. El pescado estaba delicadamente maltratado y sus patatas fritas aún más atractivas. ¿Recomendaría el Village Chippy, mucho. ¿Volvería cada vez que viaje alrededor de esa magnífica ciudad de Liverpool, sin duda.

Great new local chippy. The chips are always crispy, hot and fresh. The spam fried in batter is not only unique but also delicious. Would also suggest the bbq ribs, so tender. So far so great.
