The Lobster Pot in Liverpool

Very poor, staff moody and arrogant. Food was tasteless bland and the majority of it went in the bin.Probably put it in the top 3 worst chippies I've ever visited.

Rude ignorent staff we walked out . I wonderd why the person previous was angry i though was over his portion size as was tiny but after going to counter see was staff . I am disabled on crutches with disabled son i asked curry sauce and chips i asked if i could have it in tray sides and lid so didnt spill everywhere been on crutches and with my boy i didnt mind paying more the fuss and argument the staff had with me . First saying they didnt do them i said u do the man infront had one then said its against rules . I said im willing pay just myself and are disabeld and dont want spill curry on us . i walked out in end as was upsetting my son . Now i know why the person in front was so upset. Never visit again

Got fish and chips fish was really nice, although I was charged for a large fish it certainly wasn't the chips were hard. Disappointed as I've had meals in the past that have been good?

This fast food gaff isn’t the best looking or the cheapest but it’s in the right place . It’s Liverpool it’s night time the weathers awful and I’ve stood in a puddle that was 1 foot deep and the lobsters empty so thought nip in The English lad who works there told us it’d take 6 mins to do my order. 10 mins later I’m thinking this better be good but I can hear the fryer frying . Then he leans over the counter & says the cheese has gone on and it’s melting give it a bit .at this point I’m thinking I’ve got brother from another mother helping me out as nobody ever updated me like that before . Decided to eat it in there and all I can say is they were the best portion of cheesiest chips all melted in and a proper drenching of gravy you could ask for That is all ….

Been to the lobster pot for years just ordered chips and gravy cost £5.10! I queried the price it is correct they are taking the piss go to MacDonalds etc instead shame on them.

I’ve ordered a double burger meal and the chips tasted bland, cold and they had been preheated. I did not end up finishing the food but to throw it away I had suffered from food poisoning from the meal. The service is atrocious and they did not notified me when the food is ready. Yet the lack of communication was awful and the staff just couldn’t be bothered to do their job properly. Their attitude towards customers is appalling. I would urge my friends and whoever to stop going there the menu doesn’t seem appealing. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!

Salt and pepper chicken from here is so horrible/awful. Not even proper chicken

Food was awful, it was honestly atrocious. We spent £25 on food and threw about £24.50 worths in the bin, we got 3 separate meals and none of us thought it was edible. I would give a 0 star rating for food but I can't...unfortunately. Lobster pot used to be amazing! :(

When you go into this shop there are pictures of fish chips peas and curry. The sides are pictured in there own pots which I have had on many different occasions in different chip shops so I never questioned it. I ordered large fish dinner. When I got home I opened my box and was shocked. The mushy peas had been put all over the fish along with the curry (if there was curry even added). The fish was soaking wet and inedible. Chips where soggy absolute waste of £12.00 never again.

Good food ! Fish and ships taste so fresh ! Only issue they ain’t got no toilet.

A pretty decent "chippie". Limited seating but food is good and portions are very large. Ideal for a quick hunger stopper.

Pub and bar hopping around this part of the city my twin brother and I thought it prudent to get a meal into us and this chippy fitted the bill perfectly. A well established chippy, we ordered chips & curry, these were served steaming hot, we munched away at our meals outside, meals were totally delicious and just what we needed to set us up for a few hours, its a chippy easy to locate along Ranelagh Street and well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Visited subject shop recently and ordered fish with peas. Both were very very salty and not value for money.

Honestly worst fish and chips I've ever had. The fish batter was thick and soggy. The fish was mushy. Cheap rubbish but not reflected in the price! Honestly worst food ever!

We always use this place but not any more, £4.60 for a small chips with curry sauce over the top. Absolute robbery, we probably had the equivalent of about 2 medium size potatoes each, if that, how on earth can they charge £4.60. Complete robbery, I know prices have gone up , but that is taking the mick ! £9.20 as I ordered 2 !

Devastated, remember as a teenager in 2001 the bbq chicken and sweet and sour chicken beeing amazing, strong colours and loads of taste. Strong colours now but watered down taste. I want this place to do well and serve my kids amazing food they are drunk 2.00am. Can't see it staying open with bland food. Come on guys please step it up. People will pay for tasty food.

Curry sauce is banging dropped me spring roll so not sure on that , the chips are Harder than Jake paul after hes had a few diet cokes while threatening a 16 year old trans

Good fast food options available here. Fish and Chips was a good dish for takeaway. Also burger, chicken fries, etc are available for takeaway. 2 small tables and small place to stand and eat inside is also available. Located in a prime location so overall good place with reasonable price to have food.

Ordered chicken kebab and chips. The chicken was luke warm thigh that had been left in what supposed to be a hot plate and the chips were pre-heated and soggy. After a few bites, it got binned and I still had a bad stomach the next morning!

I paid gór a small fish&chops 7,50 ,there was no such price on the board, the fish was disgusting I do not recommend.

Called in here about 16.15 23.03.24 but apparently only doing on line orders and advance orders onĺy, we're not taking any new orders ,and see you are charging 1.50 for a can ,considering they are £10 a case of 24 at costco with vat .so people work it out

Decent fare for a Saturday night. Staff served quickly as they could considering the mostly drunken clientele. I enjoyed my salt and pepper chips. My brothers southern fried chicken was very dry and was perhaps under the heat lamp for too long.

Chicken kebab was disgusting. Its was nothing like a chicken kebab more like pulled pork I was sick after eating it.

Had bad experience today girl overflowed the paper cup I asked for with tea when picked up paper cup and tea over flowed and burnt my hand asked girl for water and tissue because my hand was stinging with the burn on my hand I sat down ate my food had to poor whole bottle off my water over the burn on my hand the girl or man never even came Iver to see how I was just carried on serving customers on interested in making money not good customers service or caring for customers when I was leaving lobsterpot chippy the girl or mand never even asked me how I was or how my burn on my hand was they were not bothered on interested in serving more customers and. Making money won't be going there ever again my hand still sting with the burn on my hand hand customers service is disgusting in lobsterpot ???

Schnellimbiss, gut besucht. Fish & Chips in Large für 9 GBP. Der Fisch war lecker und in Ordnung. Frittenfan wird man dort aber nicht. Gleichwohl kann man hier einen Snack einnehmen.

Absolutely disgusting, I ordered a small fish chips mushy peas, and a can of Rio, it come to £10.60, the fish was rock hard, Like i t had been there all day , the chips was the same, they had been reheated, 🤮 my friend got a kabab the pita was that hard she could of flung it like a frisbee, never again lobster 🦞 pot

Terrible food .we both had battered sausage and chips .chips very dry looked like they had been sitting in warmer for a while and battered sausage was sponges very chewy and horrid flavor to the sausage . Toilets disgusting mens out of order and women's not been cleaned in ages . Child seating also not been cleaned or washed .will not be going again. 1-10

I recently dined here with my wife and I have to say it was quite a disappointing experience. The food leaves a lot to be desired. Not only was it unremarkable, but the lack of any sauce prescribed or provided made it even more outdated. Fish and chips are usually enhanced with a good sauce, but this was completely lacking here. The service was another disappointment. We waited a very long time for our food, which tested our patience. It is important for a restaurant to provide prompt service to its patrons. To make matters worse, one of the service members was a little rude when dealing with us, giving us a poor impression of the facility. No cutleries were provided and when asked a couple of forks were given which was of cheap quality. All in all, this was not a pleasant visit, and I don’t see myself coming back to this restaurant.

I recently dined at this fish and chips restaurant, and unfortunately, I was highly disappointed with the service. The employees seemed disinterested and their behavior towards customers was rather harsh. It felt like they had no enthusiasm for their work, which negatively impacted the overall dining experience. I hope the management can address these issues to improve the quality of service.

We enjoyed an evening meal here in the beer garden. The service was great, we ordered from our table and the drinks on the food order arrived very quickly. The food itself was quite nice, just typical pub food but nothing to complain about at all. The staff where helpful and attentive. Overall would recommend for a pub lunch etc

It's 26 years since I last ordered " Meat & potato pie, chips and gravy" at The Lobster Pot. I wasn't disappointed today! Thanks for the delicious reminder of my days here as a student in the '90's. 😁

This used to be the best chippie in Liverpool, however its changed staff and the service has seriously gone downhill. I've just visited and the battered burger and chips was really cold and obviously warmed up from the day before. Absolutely gross.

MY hubby always loved the lobster pot and would eat there before going anywhere else over the years but not any more. We went last Saturday for the very last time. We payed over £20 for the absolute worse fish and chips we have ever tasted ......one large and one small plus one sausage. The upstairs seating area which was always pleasant enough to sit and eat was closed so we had to sit outside at two of the dirtiest tables I have ever seen at any outdoor seating areas, they were absolutely filthy with fish and chip boxes on the tables and the floor just left DESPITE the chip shop being empty when it used to be busy so the staff should of cleaned the area for other customers. So safe to say we will never eat here again and looking at some reviews on TripAdvisor neither will lots of other people...................SHAME ON YOU LOBSTER POT IT'S YOUR OWN DOING! hubby

Food was good however I payed £15 for a large fish, a bottle of coke and curry sauce. And they forgot the curry sauce

Popped in saturday night after a few beers. Ordered a large fish and chips, peas and gravy. Firstly i was given the little dried up piece of fish from the cabinet, I'd had a couple of beers but i still know the difference between a small a large fish. Secondly i was charged 15 quid. Something fishy going on here !!

Pretty sure I picked up food poisoning here. Items were cold and weren't refired. Within 24 hours I've since been on couch for 3 days. This was the only thing that was different.

Chips and peas were very good but the fish wasn't great at all. The batter was tough and dark and fish was very thin and tasteless. Will go again though as it's a Liverpool institution!

I bought 2 large kebabs on Saturday and I'm sorry that I did it wasn't what I asked for I asked for 2 large sheash kebab instead I got chunky bits of meat that was cold rock hard pitta bread hardly any salad my savoury cake was freezing and the curry was way to thick I spent £23 and it went in the bin as it was uneaten I used to love the Lobster pot I don't buy out very often as I can't afford to so that was a rear treat so it so disappointing I tried calling them to let them know but the phone didn't work I don't think I will be buying from them anymore

Rock hard chicken burger and bun very disappointed. How can you charge for food you cant eat/bite. The chips and curry very good.

It's pretty basic stuff and while it's not terrible, it's not fantastic either. It's edible but nothing special. Their prices seem to have increased substantially while the low quality has stayed the same. Poor value for money!

Sorry for a low score but the BBQ chicken was like a lot of batter and a small portion of chicken with no flavour or taste .. you really need to review your ingredients

Love the food here at the end of the night. Always spot on. Aways get a sausage dinner and ask for lots of onions

A reasonable portion of fish and chips for a reasonable price. In addition there is seating outside and a range of food, in clouding pies, sausages and kebabs.

I've just had the worst Kebab I've ever had in my life. I asked for 3 Mixed Kebabs: they did put no salad at all, only one kind of meat and not even the pita bread!!! Only meat in a plastic box. It's fine if they don't have stock but say it before because we spent the money in 3 kebabs and have not kebab!!! Only meat in a box. Really bad. Also the waitress was not helpful and understanding at all. It was a really bad experience.

FALSE ADVERTISING. They do not sell lobster! Also the scallops are not scallops, they're mashed potato. Lobster Pot is the worst thing about Liverpool, possibly the worst thing about the north.

Ordered for three, cheeseburger, donner kebab and a battered haggis, all with chips and some peas and curry sauce on the side. Took a while to arrive, but still just within the estimate provided when ordering and the food was hot. Everything was superb, with the chips being amongst the nicest I've ever had from a chippie. Highly recommended!

Possibly the worst chippy ive ever had in my entire life, barely any chips and they were bland, fish was horrible, curry sauce is so thick i could probably walk on it like Jesus Christ, terrible food will never be going back.

Salt and pepper chicken was a total let down. It looked so tasty sitting in the heated tray packed with chicken and steaming hot but actually its cold and i never found one bit of chicken in it. l told guy it was really cold and he said "thats how we serve it" if thats the case why do they keep the metal tray in a heated display cabinet. This was not the one i was served from, that one had obviously been sitting on a shelf behind the counter for sometime.

Brilliant food amazing staff good price

We visited the Lobster Pot on the Saturday 19th February in the evening. Before we were served, we asked the staff if they had chicken kebab ready and was told told to join the very long queue. After a long wait, we eventually got to the counter only to be told the chicken kebab wasn’t cooked. When we tried to challenge why we were not told when we asked the staff behind the counter responded in a very abrupt manner. This was totally unacceptable and I would not visit this place again. The staff could benefit from attending a customer service skills course.

Everything we bought was overcooked sweet sour chicken was rank.

Ordered via Uber Eats. The items there have no options whatsoever to choose from. Just the names and pictures of the meals. Oh well, we can't choose but it can't be that bad, right? I mean they look awesome in the pictures. Oh boy, were we wrong. The food arrived with zero sauces (didn't even add ketchup, look at that horrific attached photo!!!), so I called the restaurant to ask about what I thought was a mistake, only to find the most unprofessional staff. First he was blaming me for not writing him an essay about how I wanted my food and what exact sauces I like (seriously there is no options to tick or remove, you have to write everything manually). Then started blaming Uber Eats for the design of the restaurant page (lol). No, sorry, sending food with no sauces is inexcusable, and I feel robbed of my time and money. Plenty of other great restaurants in Liverpool to choose from, so to anyone reading this, please stay away!

Not as good as previous visits. Lacking In staff and choice of food. Portion size also reduced. What was purchased was very good.

Never seen the curry sauce and mushy peas get poured all over the fish and chips before. Opened the box to find a soggy mess. Bit weird. Mainly came for the deep fried mars bar so was disappointed to find out they had none.

I really miss eating their 😔💔 I was in Liverpool in 2014 and this was my favorite restaurant
