The Best 👌 The best Thai in York. The food it's cooked to perfection, extremely tasty and delicious and the staff are amazing.

Disappointed. First time I’d ever used Ubereats to order a takeaway and delivery from here. I understand restaurants can be busy on a Saturday evening but 2 hours from order to delivery was unacceptable, particularly as I’d paid the higher delivery fee for fast service. The food was acceptable but not outstanding and at an overall cost of £80 for 4 didn’t seem worth it.

we ordered from Bamboo Thai after family wanting to try it for over 2 years. I'm sceptical of Thai food as fish sauce is used in a lot of dishes and I'm vegetarian and ive had bad experiences in the past. however, the rest of the family love the cuisine. I messeged the restaurant on Facebook explaining my concerns about fish sauce etc and they responded quickly and were incredibly helpful. after talking to the team on Facebook, I rang to place my order. the girl on the phone was very polite, helpful and also very knowledgeable about the menu and checked with the chef to make sure my chosen dish could be made to my specification. We collected our food. it was ready at the exact time I was told it would be. After getting the food home we found the food to not only be perfectly portioned, but absolutely delicious. no negative or neutral feedback at all. after our takeaway, we'll be visiting to dine in very soon. this could quickly become our go to for Thai in York as it's simply amazing.

Takeaway menu prices online are not correct and are misleading. I was surprised to be charged restaurant prices when I went to collect my order.

Myself and my sister visited for the first time last night and ate in the restaurant. An authentic and unique looking venue, nothing flash but very clean and well presented. Couldn’t fault the food or the service. Very reasonable portion sizes, well presented and tasty and lots of option. Service was prompt and our waitress was lovely. She was attentive but not overbearing and checked back on us. We ordered a starter to come with the mains and she advised us there may be a wait time as they had a large group in and recommended us having the starter first but our mains were still served in a reasonable amount of time. We are excited to have this so local to our new place and already looking forward to being back soon. Thank you!

We reserved a table at short notice on a Saturday, at 6.15. The place filled up pretty quickly while we were eating - always a good sign. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. I enjoyed my red pork curry. Desserts were tasty. As for drinks, they have Erdinger 0.0, which was a great thing with a drive ahead of us. The roasted coconut juice was yummy.

The food was amazing and very friendly staff! The restaurant is comfortable and has a nice feel to it and you don’t really notice the takeaway next door. The squid was the nicest squid I have ever had. Good quality food cooked with love, full of flavour and delicious

The atmosphere is nice , staff is really friendly as well. but the food, starters are 100% precooked, chicken wings are so dry and the pork as well. The green curry is not too bad but the str fry tastes nothing.

We came here after little experience of Thai restaurants but having recently had a Thai meal with friends in Norfolk, we thought that was good but this was better. A busy local restaurant with a takeaway attached and a fully Thai staffed kitchen. The front of house was principally students from the UNI and they were lovely. We did enjoy our starter which was designed for 2 people. Our mains took a little longer to appear (that's a good sign) but the front of house were kind enough to keep us updated and offer us a drink while we waited. My Penang with duck was delish. Lastly my wife tells me the toilets are clean, roomy and well stocked 👍🙂

Ate here twice while staying in York. It was so good the first time we went back again. Everything was delicious and so well cooked.

A really authentic meal. This restaurant is owned by an Englishman and his Thai wife. She does the cooking and it brought back memories of Thailand for me. So tasty and really nice. It’s not the best ambience inside but the food more than makes up for it. It’s plain and simple.

The Tom Yum soup is the best ever ! Everything else was beautifully fresh and tasty . I won’t be going to any other Thai in York . Delicious

Besutiful restaurant, the food tasted great and had lots of flavour. The food came very quick and the workers were very nice.

Having travelled a long distance to York, we needed to find somewhere to eat. We found bamboo Thai and decided to eat here. Food was amazing. Had the sharer to start. A red Thai curry and a penang curry for mains. Deep fried banana and waffle for deserts. All food exceptionally well presented and tasted amazing. Overall, I would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

Ive given 5 for atmos as dont want to bring score down but have actually only ever had takeaway. Its delicious every time and by far my favourite takeaway in York. Every dish so different and flavourful.

Just ordered my first take away from Bamboo Thai and I'd just like to say it was the best thing I've tasted in a long time. I chose the Pad Thai and a masam curry to share with my wife and it didn't disappoint 10 out of 10 for flavour and portion size. When we're back in the area I'm straight there.

One of the most grotesque meals I've been served. High sugar, no flavour. This is not Thai food.

Lovely dine in meal with some flavourful options. Salt and pepper squid and satay tofu for starters. Pad Graprao (I recommend the mince pork with fried egg) and Pad Thai for mains. A bit quiet on a weekday but that's the only reason the atmosphere didn't get 5*. Will be back and looking forward to it!

Had several friends recommend Bamboo so had to try it - and they were right: it was excellent! Their pork spring rolls were close to perfection being satisfyingly crispy whilst full of taste complemented by a tangy sauce. The ribs were as promised with the meat falling off the bone & equally delicious. Mains also were superb with their Thai Green & Red curries being equally superb. An easy meal to get wrong, but they excelled with a chilli taste that was perfectly balanced, sauce that was just the right consistency & volume for their perfectly cooked rice to absorb, tasty enough chicken, and vegetables that were cooked past being al dente yet not soggy goo. Deserts are too often mundane & boring - but Bamboo also hit the mark once more with brilliantly cooked crispy banana coupled to very flavoursome ice cream & a mouse-type cream. Credit where it's due: everything was full marks at 10/10! And let's not forget service. A young lady doing her Master's greeted us pleasantly, was attentive all through the night, and a near perfect hostess. Thank you. Put simply, the majority of restaurants in York & beyond should dine here and learn how to do it right. Team Bamboo: well done & thanks - we'll be back!

We have had a few takeaways from here now and they have all been delicious and delivered on time which we have really struggled to find in York. Tonight we had Chicken Massaman and red Thai chicken. Piping hot, fresh and both really, really tasty. Can't fault it.

Five of us had a takeaway on Tuesday 12 September. All cooked on time and everyone found it delicious. We did make a slight error in ordering regular portions rather than small since we found that we had enough for a second dinner (obviously equally good) on Wednesday too! (Don't tell the restaurant though) I'm glad we picked it up from the restaurant ourselves since Deliver takes a cut of 30% which seems a bit over the top.

Simply the best! If you want great Thai food this is the place. It's not flash, if your looking for that smart nice restaurant experience, this is not the place, but if you want good honest Thai food from people who care about their customers & the food they serve then this is the place to visit. I've lost count how many times we have visited, we will be going again very soon!

Great prices and absolutely delicious every time. The appetizer sampler is definitely worth it. Our go-to Thai spot in the area. More than once they answered the phone amd prepared a take-away meal when they were closed and I arrived forgetting that they hadn’t even opened yet! Support this small business. They’re great.

Popped in for lunch and was not disappointed. The service was fast and friendly but the food was some of the best I've tasted outside of Thailand. I only wish that they did jungle curry, but I've not found a Thai in this country that does. I will be going back again.

I always order take away from here. I promise you guys this is the best Thai in York . I’ve tried so many thai restaurants in my life but bamboo thai it’s still THE BEST N•1. I absolutely love their food (my favourite is pad Thai with chicken) ! I would order from here every day if I could 🙏🏼 If you didn’t tried their food yet , you should do it , right now !! We’ve been to Thailand a few times so our expectations are probably higher than most but I’d say this was a 3.5/5. Massaman curry delicious, pad thai good, Tom kha gai amongst the worst I’ve ever had (basically just coconut milk). Sesame prawn toast was decent enough with tasty dips. Overall, good enough but would probably try elsewhere

Wow! Amazing food and fantastic selection of dishes including gluten free provision. Super service and accommodated us even though we hadn’t booked. A busy place for both dining in and takeaway so not just who think it’s amazing. Won’t lie but we were disappointed when we hoped to revisit a couple of days later when you where closed - everyone is entitled to a day off 😀

Awful food for the price tag. Ribs boiled in gravy and served as succulent ribs🤢 Rubbery calamari? Tamarind duck? How can your special dish be the worst? Did they hire a menu dress up? Seriously everything reads like a top class menu. But what is served is not any better than what you would get from a canteen. We also ordered the green curry. I think they spent more time making the green colouring and not paying attention to anything else. I'm so angry as my mother thai wasn't delivering. I Took a risk😡it really didnt pay off. Also hit my poclets for twice the money. Why? My kids couldnt eat it. I hated it too and my other half who eats pretty much, couldn't do it🤯im fuming. So need to alert other people

Haha so yummy! Original Thai taste, my kids love it! My son order noodles, my daughter sticky’s rice! I order 53 spicy noodles with fried rice! I am so full now! Very nice! Beside still have 3 car park space🤪

I used to order from these all the time and never will again!!! Im coeliac so gluten free ordered a few times on deliveroo they said select your meal then call in with allergies n tell us which order it is. This time I couldnt get through the guy is arguing with me on the phone and patronizing and I will never order from them again! Its my 40th this year and was going to take my family of 20 family meal there well definately not now. Rude and bad customer service! Deliveroo should also have an allergy section to fill in

We don’t get take aways very often, maybe 3 times a year but we know from past experience that Bamboo Thai has been the best. So disappointing tonight, ordered beef massaman and it came with chicken and the box was 2/3rds rice, very little sauce too, the pad Thai was really greasy and the chicken was like rubber. The pork spring rolls were lovely but overall not worth the 30 quid. Will be sticking to M n S takeaway boxes in future.

Brilliant food, really good prices. Staff are super friendly and helpful. We booked for 28 people including the children and Alex was so helpful in his coordination. Will definitely come back next time we are in York!

The service was excellent. The wait person on staff is so polite and attentive, a real keeper. The food was good, but not amazing. Tasty. Reasonably quick. The salt and pepper calamari was not very salt and peppery and over fried. The mains were fine.

literally best thai food i’ve ever had! im moving in a few weeks and it’ll no longer be in walking distance of this restaurant and i am genuinely really upset about it :( everything is always so good , i’m a vegetarian & my partner is vegan and they’re always spot on with the dietary requirements every time! i would 100% recommend it to anyone

I had a chicken pad thai.. i think their chicken left one from yesterday. it has a bad smelling and its definitely not fresh.. i ordered before 6 pm.. its better order from here in busy times.. so in a chance you can get fresh food..

I have eaten at a lot of Thai restaurants. I have to say that I was disappointed. Would not recommend ordering from this place. It was an order through Just Eat. Over priced, no flavour and oily.
