Enjoyable lunch on a Saturday afternoon while in St Marychurch. God coffee, clean and tidy cafe, busy location, young staff, efficient and pleasant.

Stopped in for a quick lunch and it was nice and tasty. It was a lovely bright room, the food came quickly and was all tasty. The luxury hot chocolate was great!

Visited while in St Marychurch. Ideal for a light lunch. Very bright and clean. Reasonable prices friendly staff. Clean and tidy. Will visit again.

This is a nice little cafe that serves good breakfast and lunch food, with a friendly atmosphere and staff

Went for a sandwich bank holiday Monday, very few places were open. The service was very slow, noticed the food being put in the sandwiches by the server using her bare hands! No tongs or gloves used. When putting the crisps on our plate she picked a crisp up and put in her mouth!

Had a nice jacket potato here and was impressed with the breakfast and lunch menu. Also nice coffees and cakes.

Terable service over priced the staf spend more time on there phones it’s like the customers are a pain will not be back would rate lower than one if I could

Next to a childrens shoe shop. Serves scones, cakes, cookies, sandwiches and light lunch. They offer small kids boxes for takeaway or to eat in. Theres not much space for pushchairs but a good range of sandwich fillings and drinks.

Went in for a quick lunch and they had an excellent choice of sandwiches which are all freshly made. They were good too. Friendly staff, Reasonable prices.

Called into this bright coffee bar for mid morning refreshment enjoyed toasted tea cakes and freshly made Latte. Service was brisk and friendly and the interior was clean and fresh looking. You can also pass into the shoe shop inside if you are in need of new footwear. A good place for that morning break

Just had a pannini made from a baguette, not genuine pannini bread. Was supposed to be ham and cheese, had a hard time finding the ham. Staff were abrasive,and they should have been wearing sterile gloves. Handling money then preparing food is unacceptable. Will not be returning.

I was looking forward to my little treat this morning, I'd taken my Kindle, with thoughts of a relaxing coffee in a cafe and a delicious toasted teacake ... but it was spoilt when my teacake was served to me burnt. I have been to this cafe several times, but this has now put me off returning, because if you know you've burnt something why then serve it to a paying customer. I didn't mention it at the time, mainly because the cafe was full; I was on my own, complaining would have brought attention to myself, thus spoiling my relaxing treat. Why bother anyway, they knew it was burnt when it given to me, the time to replace it was before it left the serving counter. I ate half, but my treat out was now ruined, so I left, incredibly disappointed.

This is a good cafe, not large so can be busy at expected peak times. For me it provides the Latte I dream of whenever I step out of the house. Good happy service makes this a very pleasant refreshment stop-over when visiting the local precint.

Popular little cafe. We were lucky enough to get a table as it was busy around lunch (to be expected) which I guess shows it popularity with the locals. At first glance the prices i thought were reasonable for the food on offer. When we got our baguette and sandwich id say the prices were a little on the steep side. Whilst waiting for our food, I saw a member of staff quickly run out of the shop to next door to buy some coleslaw which was then used in our sandwich. i was a little shocked as I was expecting home made 'slaw for a sandwich at their price. I'd assume this might be the case with other ingredients in their food. Whilst the food and drinks were nice, £12 for 2 sandwiches and a iced coffee was a little expensive. there were plenty of staff working so service was quick and they were very polite. a wide variety of flavoured coffee's is always a plus for me is why i give this cafe 4/5. The prices and coop quality ingredients unfortunately let this cafe down.

Despite asking a bamboo sandwich, my order was declined on the basis there isn't any such thing. Frustrating and somewhat misleading.

Been working on the bank over the road all week felt a bit peckish so decided to pay them a visit so glad I did.. Had a bacon and cheese toasty to my surprise they actually used proper cheese & not this plastic stuff you usually get..Today with my cheese toastie & latte I decided to have some home made carrot cake what can I say it was gorgeous you must try their cakes...The staff are very polite and welcoming the cafe is absolutely spotless .. There is free on road parking opposite..

Clever set up here. Large building which houses a cafe, shoe shop, and dancewear studio. It all works beautifully. The place is family run and it shows. Great, light, airy cafe, extensive menu, super friendly staff, and reasonably priced. HIGHLY recommended if you are in St. Marychurch.

Enjoyed coffees here today and will certainly come back again. Great quality coffee and great value too.

Very slow service went there with my wife and son very slow food well bellow standard girl picket my wife meat up with her hands no gloves a health and safety issue I thinck chatting on there mobile give the inpreshon they could not give a monkeys about the customer we will never go again.would say it's the worst cafe we have been in ,they used to be in chelston just selling shoes should off stayed there

Not a particularly large establishment, but very clean and bright, service was quick and the food delicious.

La comida era deliciosa y abundante, personal amable sin duda volveremos. Menú tenía mucha variedad.

Vimos esto ya nos bajamos del autobús. Muy acogedor y amable personal, que eran algo para todo el mundo. Jamón, guisantes y sopa de patata era el mejor que he probado en mi vida.

Lovely coffee, great staff and lovely atmosphere. We stopped off having just bought school shoes in The Shoe Zoo. I can highly recommend.

Visited last Friday, fantastic buzz, very clean, lovely homemade cakes and scones, very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend. Great for families or couples. Fresh produce, would definitely go back. Treated myself to a pair of boots in the sale in the Shoe Zoo as well.

Had to fill in passport applications so needed a coffee and a table near to the post office. Saw Bamboo, thought it was a shop but found this friendly, light, airy, modern space. Nice surprise. Felt very comfortable and welcoming. Look forward to going back.

Read in our local paper that there was a new business in the village of St Marychurch, Torquay. Shoe Zoo, a children's shoe shop had recently opened and shared its premises with the Bamboo Sandwich and Coffee Bar. 'Sherlock' here went to investigate on your behalf (and to nip in somewhere dry out of a sudden downpour.)What I want from a café like this is: cleanliness, friendly staff, simple no-frills menu, with well cooked and nicely presented food that is reasonably priced. This place meets all criteria. Welcomed by friendly smiley staff, ordered coffee and toasted tea cake, and enjoyed sitting upon a comfy sofa where the sunshine which ripped through the downpour shone through the large window. Being a particular sort of person, I can also report the loo was spotless. Not only that, a baby nappy-changing table and even a little potty for toddlers. This is a lovely place in which to enjoy a light snack and beverage before or after shopping and while there are several cafes, pubs, tea rooms in St Marychurch, I trust there is room for this new café on the block.
