Service very slow, not cheap, lacking atmosphere and stuffy inside. Probably was nice pre Covid but now just seems like an expensive Wetherspoons

I was here at a charity cricket dinner sat next to Graham Gooch! I was on a table of 10 amongst other similar parties. The fixed menu was excellent & everyone enjoyed the meal. To cater for 120+ diners efficiently is not easy, but the staff here smashed it!

Good, relaxed atmosphere, music was one of the best selections of tracks I've heard in a long time!

The quiz night is a great night out and includes free bar food.

Chicken pie was very tasty and.the portion size was generous, although the accompanying mash average in taste and there was nowhere near enough of it, either. Well cooked and well presented fine beans were nicely bundled atop the quinnel of mashed potato. The dish also came with a perfectly size jug of rich gravy, which was an essential but well executed part of the dish overall. Service was good when it happened, however the restaurant was experiencing a busy lunch service so it was very slow on the day.

Great venue in the city, with phenomenal staff and a large open bar area. It’s perfect for large scale celebrations and gatherings of any type. The staff were very attentive, serving delicious finger buffet options all evening. Service was always very pleasant and drinks flowed all night. The location has a secure cloakroom and we recommend it for any large scale London event.

Tourist scam! Visiting this place was one of the biggest mistake we have ever made. The "food" was instant microwaved product. One of the waiters was a rude and loud person who was putting his sexuality in everyone's face.

If you want the worst dinner in new year is the best place. A worker insulted a costumer and he was mean.

Bar/pub upstairs, function room downstairs which is where I was. The function was great but still 5 stars to the venue.

Around 120 for lunch downstairs and the staff did really well. Xmas turkey etc came out hot with good vegs. Good wine. Yes the place is a bit dated but we didn't notice and a great time was had by all. GF no problem

Good location, good drink selection and good food in conference rooms basement

Attended a corporate event, which itself was fun but the food was awful. Smoked salmon was ok but bread was turned up at the edges and dry, the main course steak smelt awful, was grey in colour and was dry as anything - I have not eaten a steak that bad in the last 20 years. Wine list was also very poor. How this place is still open selling food that bad it beyond me - the entire table agreed this was awful food for the price paid per ticket.

Attended a lunch there yesterday for rugby fans, four ex internationals telling old yarns & anecdotes, very entertaining. The room is pleasant enough & the tables were nicely laid. Food was fine, but the portions were a bit sparse. Was appalled to find the only beer on tap was Guinness & St Miguel lager, no ale at all, even in bottles. Not great for a couple of hundred beer drinking rugby fans.

After a blast of fresh air from the roof garden (see previous review), I built up a healthy appetite for lunch. Located in the Minster buildings, near Fenchurch Street Station, I stumbled upon this venue quite by accident and was so pleased that I did. I am always highly impressed by staff that go that extra mile for me and this is one such case. I arrived before official opening but the staff kindly accommodated me with coffee until I was able to order lunch. I went for the healthy option: avocado 🥑 and peppers 🌶, bursting with flavour and generously filled on wholemeal bread. It was the perfect lunch, not too heavy but enough to sustain a busy afternoon's work in the City. Many of the tables were reserved in advance and I can understand why. The restaurant and bar were well appointed and the atmosphere equally inviting. There was an extensive range of beverages on offer, something to suit ever taste. The toilets were spotless and the service, provided by international staff, faultless. A special mention must go to Widad, who made my whole experience at the venue exceptional and has secured its place on my shortlist of ideal venues for a business lunch.

I had a burger, colleagues shared sandwiches. I tried their sandwiches and we all agreed that they were delicious. The burger i had was surprisingly excellent - I will be going back for that. Staff did seem confused that everyone should have their own ketchup and mayo for chips but still 5*.

We walked all the way here to find out there was no dining.

Wonderful, friendly staff working in a lovely central London location. The set three course lunch at a cricket event was excellent, and considering the event plus lunch were in an all inclusive package, then very good value for money. Hugely enjoyable day all round!.

Found it a little ordinary to be honest. Some of the food was over cooked and dry. Service whilst friendly was a little slow.

To noisey, 140 blokes eating, drinking, enjoying themselves. Needs acoustic material on ceiling, and walls.

Welcoming premises and staff. Theor Grimsby smoked haddock and salmon fishcakes, served with a poached egg, and were wonderful. They have a very good wine list here, too.

Sono andata in questo pub/ristorante con un gruppo per una gita da me organizzata (sono un'agente di viaggi / tour operator) e devo dire che sono stati molto comprensivi e anche molto bravi. Siamo arrivati in ritardo (previo avviso telefonico da parte mia) e non hanno fatto alcun problema, ci hanno fatto pagare separatamente e sono stati anche veloci con il servizio. I piatti sono paiciuti a tutti, ottimo fish & chips ma anche piatti più "elaborati" avevano di certo il loro perchè, se proprio dovessi fare una critica alla cucina direi che le uniche rimostranze da parte di alcuni componenti del gruppo sono stati la carne un po' dura e un po' troppo aglio in alcuni piatti. Tutto sommato vista cortesia, velocità e gentilezza direi diecsiamente posto top, tra l'altro a due passi dalla Tower of London. Bel posto e buona pulizia, in un prossimo tour valuterò di certo di tornare da loro!

Lovely place. Food was good as was service, plenty of space especially considering there was 57 of us ( belated Christmas work party) Plenty of room in the bar area for after drinks and friendly, efficient staff. Will definitely revisit.

A wonderful place to go for dinner. I went to a charity dinner with Chris Cowdrey as the MC and Rory Bremner as the comedian. The venu is fantastic, quaint underground room with its own bar. Food was lovely and service was outstanding

Went here for lunch with my wife and daughter (5) and had a lovely time. The food was incredible, the staff was great, and it was a bit amusing to be the only ones not in business attire.

Great if you like sandwiches as everything else such as tuna nicoise off the menu with no apology, asked if they could perhaps put together a chicken salad and the curt answer was “no”………..i wondered why on a busy Tuesday that they had many seats available, now i know.

Great venue for a large gathering

We came here for an evening with Phil Tufnell. After about 4 pints each our drinks were seized and we were told to leave. We were very affable but the staff insisted we left despite our party being very accommodating. If you want to go to a bar and enjoy yourself this is not the place.

From the very 1st email back in November to the final bill last week, we had brilliant service. Our deposit was held over for 3 months due to Covid cancellation (by choice not Government rules). The food, service and ambience was superb. We will be booking for Xmas 2022! (only 5 minute walk from the office too!) Highly recommend.

Outstanding service, the staff were always super attentive despite the venue being large and really busy. Drinks were always quick and easy to order. The food was superb.

I cant recommend this venue enough. Tom & Dovile were amazing from beginning to end, with great communication throughout the planning phase and made everything so easy for our corporate winter party. The food, the venue, the service were all top notch. All of our guests had a great experience and have said lots of positive things. We would not hesitate to use this venue again for future events.

Went here as 'private function' on NYE, it was disgraceful. The quality of the food was dreadful, even burger bars serve better quality. I'd have been ashamed to have cooked it or had to serve it up & the chef should be sacked

We held our Old Boys Xmas Lunch at the restaurant last Monday, excellent from start to finish. Venue, service, food all top draw. Tom and his team could not have done more to help and make us welcome, so much so, we have already booked to do it all again next year! If you are in the City of London and looking for a place to hold a function, you won’t go far wrong here.

We had a great experience at Balls Brothers for our team Xmas party this year. Doville was a gem to work with and made everything so easy for us. Our team (who can sometimes be hard to please) have reported rave feedback on the venue itself, the food, the friendliness of the staff and how nothing seemed like it was too big a task. I can’t thank Tom (events manager) and his team at Balls Brothers Minster Court enough for our Corporate Christmas party this year in the Minster Suite. All I have received this week is compliments and laughs from everyone. Not only Tom execute an excellent plan for the night to run smoothly with our external entertainment, food ordering, and drink arrangements; The evening team on the night were so polite and attentive and helped our evening be a complete success. The food was praised all night as it was delicious and generously portioned, and the DJ was fab with accepting all requests. This event space was perfect for our group of 150 guests with no long waits at the bar and complimented with private entrance, cloakroom and bathrooms. The event had no faults! Endless thanks.

Booked the private restaurant area for our Xmas dinner and couldn't be more pleased with how it went. Tom was so helpful with the organisation beforehand and the staff on the night went out of their way to make sure everything went smoothly. Food was lovely too. Made for a great atmosphere and everyone danced until closing time!

This was our fourth year hosting Clients at our Christmas Lunch at Balls Brothers Minster Court. Yet again the food was superb and the staff looked after us brilliantly. We will keep coming back as long as they will have us!

I booked a quiz night for my company (50 people) at Balls Brothers Minster Court and it was a superb night. The Balls Brothers team did a brillant job setting up the restaurant for our quiz and everything ran very smoothly, The drink was available for us on arrival and the food served was delicious and plentiful. The quiz master who was recommended by Balls Brothers was brillant and did a great job. I would definitely use Balls Brothers again for a company quiz night or any other social night.

I booked the venue on behalf of work for a charity quiz and they were probably one of the kindest, accommodating and hard working teams I’ve come across.I dealt mostly with Tom who was super helpful and allowed me to come earlier to set up for the event. Throughout the evening the waiting staff made sure that everyone was okay. I was also allowed to leave items at the venue to collect the following day. Great place and atmosphere definitely and will be booking more work events here!

Great central city venue for our recent charity quiz night. Tom was great in the build up to the event and was always ready to answer any questions I had. Would definitely recommend the Minster suite for larger events. We all had a great time and had some wonderful feedback.

Always a great experience at Balls Brothers Minster Court. Pre event staff are efficient & friendly. During the event staff are helpful and always on hand. Very spacious private area downstairs. The room is great for a function of 100-200 guests. We will use them again for sure!

Attended the Wasps Legends charitable foundation long lunch at Balls Brothers, great venue and excellent food, a great time was had by all, and we raised a significant amount of money for our wonderful causes

We held our charity quiz night and auction and were treated very well and Tom was in constant touch in the run up to the event - he could not have been more helpful!

We booked this venue for a private networking event in October 2019 and hired the restaurant area. The experience with Minster Court was professional and organised from the outset. Thomas, the events manager was exceptionally helpful and thoughtful with his advice and recommendations for timings, numbers and catering. A real expert, which is exactly what I needed! The evening itself was fantastic and everyone had a great time. The venue was prepared and organised for our arrival, staff were approachable and attentive and the food was served on time, hot and fresh with plenty of choice. We were able to relax and just enjoy the evening. The practicalities of booking an event (invoices, paperwork etc) were all managed with minimal fuss and complication. All round, I would definitely recommend this venue. It's a great central location with the perfect atmosphere for entertaining colleagues. It offers true value - not just in monetary terms, but in terms of feeling looked after and well informed. Thank you!

On Tuesday we hosted an investor evening here, the staff were great, in particular Ania who was lovely! Sausage platter comes highly recommended.

Our company hosted an event at this venue yesterday. We were pleased with the attentive staff and the lovely food. A great spot in the City for an event or a drink after work. We will return for sure.

Después de una reunión en la ciudad, nos apetece un buen almuerzo de pub. Esto fue un poco más elegante de lo que habíamos planeado, ¡pero la comida estaba deliciosa! Tuve pierna de cordero y era tan suculento, perfectamente preparado y las papas de romero con él eran perfectas. ¡Estaré mucho en esa área en un futuro próximo y definitivamente regresaré!

We didn't even know they had Wine Bars in London until our friends took us here. One of the best meals we had and delightful staff with great service.

I attended a business event here and found it to be very good. The food provided was great! Unusually for a place like this, the sandwiches etc we're quite sensible flavours. The rooms downstairs worked well and the atmosphere was very good.

I attended my schools annual reunion here and it was the 4th time we had used Minster Court as our venue. Sadly, it has declined in service, hospitality and quality each time. Needless to say it has not declined when it comes to price. Several of us have decided that we would not be at the gathering in 2020 unless a new venue is found.

Been here on many occasions. Closer to Bank than Liverpool Street / Moorgate - great location for the City. Sometimes quiet but lunchtimes are generally incredibly busy. Friendly staff, good wine selection, and the food I’ve tried was to a decent standard.

I arranged a 50th Birthday celebration with my work colleagues (nearly 60 of us) and reserved an area. The food, drinks and service were excellent. The Ball's Brothers Sales & Events Executive was extremely helpful in helping me organise this event, particularly with food and drink selection, plus the quantities. When I ordered extra food and drinks the service was very quick. It is quite expensive, but it is bar/restaurant in the City of London (Financial District) so pricing was in line with my expectations.

This a traditional yet stylish bar/restaurant. On arrival it was a bit unclear where to go to request a table, but after looking over the packed bar area you could see the tables set for food (clearly more people are interested in drinking in the business area of a London on a Tuesday evening).

Downstairs in Minster Court. Good lunch. Sandwiches are excellent. Good decor and excellent service. Recommended

La habitación ha tenido un buen lavado de cara y se veía preciosa vestida para Navidad. Thomas, con quien tratamos antes del evento y nuestro contacto principal fue excelente, hizo que el proceso de organización fuera fácil y lo más libre de estrés posible. Recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar. Hemos tenido excelentes comentarios de nuestro personal y todos hemos tenido una noche fantástica.

Reservamos una sala de eventos con Patrycja para nuestra fiesta de trabajo, pudimos tener el espacio desde las 2 pm - cerca, incluido el tiempo para una presentación - usando su proyector y pantalla, una comida de 3 platos y mucho tiempo para nuestras propias actividades. y bebidas!

Nice venue in the City serving both good food and drink. Lovely atmosphere in the lead up to Christmas - attended a Christmas party here and the team were very on point. Only negative was there didn’t seem to be many/any toilet checks on the toilets nearby the area we were located in.

Nice place for a quiet drink. I've been told it Can get quite busy but I was happy. After a while they offered up table service. A bit pricey but it is bang in the city. Couldn't complain overall. Top quality. Recommended.

Might not visit here again. Dessert was great and the staff were quite welcoming but the menu was not impressive.

Been here a few times for lunch with work people. This last time was the worst, I arrived before my colleagues and sat at the table I was shown to,. I then tried for 10 minutes to get someone's attention to get a drink! Finally got that and colleagues arrived. We ordered some food (sandwiches) and some mini sausages, the sandwich was great but the sausages were cold, shrivelled, hard and tasteless! not what you'd expect because its not cheap in there. we did complain about the sausages and was told by the waiter 'Sorry about that'! so that was it! I wont be rushing back!

This venue has a very elegant large function room separate from the upstairs Restaurant where we held a dinner for over 90 people. It was an ideal venue for a private function. The staff were efficient and friendly and the food was very good, arriving hot for everyone on the table of eight.

Food was very good. We were the only ones on the restaurant although the wine bar was busy. But we were well looked after. Only complaint I could have was that the chips we're cooked from frozen (I think) when the rest of food was excellent.

On a baking hot afternoon my husband and I spotted the Happy Hour ad and went downstairs for a drink and respite from the sun. Service was good and our drinks were brought very quickly despite the bar being full. I had a Bloody Mary with the special spicey mixer and my husband had the Porn Star cocktail. I wish I’d chosen it when it arrived with its shot of Prosecco on the side as my drink was disappointing - a highball glass full of ice and a very weak tomato mixture. Sad but true. We enjoyed the atmosphere and ambiance of the place. It quickly filled up with homeward bound office workers so we left them to it and continued exploring the London Bridge area. We did not try the food but the platters that we saw looked appetising and beautifully presented.
