Balls Brothers - Bishopsgate in City of London, Westminster

Very good food. Good service. Not cheap but it is London! For a Christmas meal, I can definitely recommend. There were 30 in our party and the good all came out together.

El servicio en Balls Brothers Mayfair no es tan malo como inexistente. Reservé esta oferta en línea, que parecía ser un Brunch sin fondo. La letra pequeña es muy pequeña. Cuando llegué, descubrí que la comida no estaba incluida en el Brunch Inferior, que fue la primera decepción. Los camareros nos ignoraron por completo y tuve que ordenar en el bar repetidamente. La comida (algunos huevos en panecillos) tardó una hora en llegar, tiempo durante el cual tuve que preguntar dos veces a dónde habían llegado. La salsa holandesa era horrible y las magdalenas no estaban bien cocidas (sí, ya sé, ¿cómo demonios alguien cocina una magdalena con poca comida?). Cuando pedí la factura, el miembro del personal me la dio con el servicio agregado, que inmediatamente despegué. Ese día apenas había gente en el restaurante. Sinceramente, no sé cómo es posible arruinar el servicio y la entrega de algunos huevos tan mal. No recomiendo este restaurante en lo más mínimo. Si eres como yo, es posible que te atraigan sus pretensiones de glamour y alta sociedad, pero sus chefs ni siquiera pueden cocinar un muffin.

Reservamos porque estaba tan cerca de la estación de Liverpool, para reunirse con amigos que tenía el viaje en tren. Nos pareció difícil de encontrar porque en realidad dice nace en el Restaurante fuera toda las ventanas y estábamos buscando las bolas hermanos! Tuvimos una comida super, Oscar nuestro camarero era muy buena. Estuvo muy atento y servicial. Tuvimos la especial croquetas estaban deliciosos. Volveremos de nuevo, un lugar de encuentro perfecto.

Comimos aquí la semana pasada y la comida era deliciosa y el servicio fue muy atento. Buena selección de menú y un buen ambiente en el restaurante.

Si viene después de la 1 pm, encontrará el Palacio es de habitación permanente. Así pop de antes de la 1pm también más garantizan una mesa... al menos eso es lo que hicimos hoy. El almuerzo es genial, tuve la "salchicha" premios nand es delicioso. Sin duda volveremos para comer de nuevo.

Ok, everyone knows the score with mass Christmas catering - it's a rip off and low quality wherever you go, but Balls Brothers really took it to new levels. Ordered 3 course meal for 40 work guests. I had pâté for starter (mediocre but inoffensive). I then had the "roast", which consisted of a slab of meat in the middle splashing around in some thin gravy, and two potatoes the size and width of 2 pence pieces. Aside from some slithers of carrots, that's it. You could have held all the "trimmings" within the ball of your palm and run a race without them wobbling. A thin slither of hope came with the cheeseboard, however thin slither turned out to be prescient. It was 3 Jacobs crackers and 3 accompanying small pieces of supermarket cheese, no fruit, chutney, or more than the three small wafers. I'm sure it's fine as a wine bar, as it's dark and subterranean, but my Goodness don't eat there.

Great place for a quick drinks, down the stairs and duck in for a drink away from the busy streets.Service is good and a nice selection of fine wines.

The original plan was for a family dinner on Fri night at this venue. The location was ideal for an after work RV. The ambience was a pleasant one, though I was struck by how few people were dining there (it was 7 pm Fri). We ordered drinks, but a requested sparkling wine was a flat affair (to the waitress' credit, she brought back another one with the expected fizz and apology) - but this proved foreshadowing of what was to come. We ordered our food - several dishes of sausages and mash, pork belly, etc - traditional hearty English fare. However, a few minutes later were were informed that sausages and mash were off the menu! It turned out there was not enough mashed potato for the mains we ordered. Given that we had hungry children in our company, we opted to cancel our order and go elsewhere. A most unfortunate experience for us visiting Central London.

Good location and atmosphere, didn't have a "chainey" feel. Good décor and nice food. This is the nicest one (for me) in town

This was an excellent choice for lunch with friends I hadn't seen for a number of years. The food was lovely, the service excellent and the drinks were reasonably priced for Central London. With close proximity to Liverpool station, it made for a great afternoon. Well done!

After reading that Balls brothers had good restaurants I tried this out. No wow factor, nothing special. Just average food. lots more and better choice of restaurants in the area.

This wine bar restaurant was very convenient to our apartment at Victoria square. Service was great and food high standard.

Ce bar, peut connu des touristes et très fréquenté par la city. Les cocktails sont parfaits, et la bière n'est pas très chère. Il est agréable de se faire servir par Thomas, étudiant français qui prend son travail très au sérieux. A recommander ! Anaïs

We recently booked a private area at the Bishopsgate Exchange for an after work celebration and just wanted to say how great it was. Area was perfect, drinks and food which we'd pre-ordered were ready and waiting on the bar, great service and a friendly atmosphere. We would definitely recommend and would look to book again when the need arises.

I've recently visited Bishopsgate Exchange to meet a friend for Thursday Night drinks. I was pleasantly surprised with the beautiful deco inside, bar looks very cosy and inviting. We had a main course each and some wine to start. Food was very tasty indeed and well presented. After dinner we decided to try some cocktails and purchased them at a half price offer that they are running at the moment, we were very happy. Overall we had an amazing night, great value for money and on top of that they had a live DJ on too! Highly recommended!

This place is great! I was there for a friend's birthday on Thursday evening and we had a blast, they had great cocktails at half price (until a certain hour) and a DJ later on in the evening. Staff was very friendly and helpful, we definitely will be back very soon!

Went to Bishopsgate Exchange this April with my friend for a lunch. Very very nice experience, great food, fantastic service and nice attention to details. The staff especially waitress Izabela was very friendly and made us feel very velcome - she was also great at answering questions about the menu and recommending the plates. Super fish pie for main course and my friend was crazy about the apple crumble for desert. Prices weren´t bad - great value for money. Go there if you have the opportunity!

Really nice venue. Great bar with a massive wine/ cocktail list and very friendly staff. They serve delicious sharing platters and £ 20 steak and lobster. Love Thursday evenings when they have got a DJ, it is usually also a theme night. They used to have this great prohibition party with Long Island ice tea served in tea pots just like it was in 1920's. Not many places can offer that ! Delicious food , quick service and perfect location - just next to Liverpool street station, u can't ask for more

My husband and I were vacationing in London all the way from the lone star state of Texas when we discovered this place. We stopped in at lunch for a quick bite to eat and ended up staying long into the evening. The food was divine, the cocktails delectable and the service impeccable! We will be going back on our next trip to the UK

I visited the venue twice. Firstly for a work do. The staff created a private area for us which was perfect for a big organised group. Second time we went on Monday, escaping from the crowded Liverpool Street area. The bar has a great décor and atmosphere, cocktails are of a very high grade. The barristers really make a great effort so well done! Food and wine was tasty as well as affordable! We were served by Izabela who was really helpful and attentive. I will definitely go back there again! Overall, very pleasant experience.

Got taken here by a colleague for some afterwork drinks the other day and what a lovely little surprise this place was! They had a prohibition themed evening on with great music. Was only planning to stay for a bite to eat (good menu, served very well) and a quick drink but ended up staying for ages and enjoying some lovely cocktails.Service was quick and friendly and the atmosphere was fun. Highly recommended.

I started visiting the Bishopsgate Exchange a few months ago when I was alerted to their great value deal of steak and lobster for £20!Despite working in the city for more years than I care to remember and the convenience of the location I had never been to this hidden underground den. It was a Monday night but despite this there was a pleasant buzzy atmosphere many bums on seats.The waitress was charming and very helpful with our wine choice and when the food arrived it was just lovely, I was pleasantly full and thought that it was very well priced at £20. The wine list I believe also has a happy hour offer until a certain time and there are some excellent choices.Since then we've been back many a time Mondays-Wednesdays and our experience has been the same, great service, good food and always a lively atmosphere.I really recommend this venue for a midweek bite or bottle.

I have been to the Exchange Bar several times over the last few months and we have always been very well looked after. I would thoroughly recommend it if you are looking for a meeting place close to Liverpool Street. The service is good, and the food and drink well priced compared to some bars in the area. It is advisable to book a table in advance as it gets quite busy if you are visiting after work. Check out their website for special offers. Thoroughly recommended.

I sought out this venue on a 'Steak and half Lobster for 20 quid offer', it's very near Liverpool Street station, you enter in off the street and go down the stairs to the Restaurant itself, it's quite sizeable, inviting and comfortable. They have a Massive Wine list ranging in price from the affordable to the insane, I had a couple of glasses of the Merlot which was very nice, the steak was good quality and so was the Lobster, I wish it had been a whole one....seriously though it was Very good value. The place is frequented by the 'suited' of the City, who were occupying the bar area when I was there, but hey....don't let that put you off, visit this venue you will enjoy it and try the Cocktails, I did....they are Heavenly and such a Huge choice as well!

A bright cheerful top quality Wine bar / Restaurant close to Liverpool Street Station. Suitable for entertaining clients or for a simple sandwich & glass of wine lunch. Business groups & parties for small or large groups can catered for where the flexibility of venue and helpfull staff and Manager is paramount. I have used this brilliant location for all of these events and have never been dispappointed. Wine list and menus always very good and the quality of the end product is top class. Would recommend this to anyone!! Keep up the good work Balls / Bishopsgate Exchange !!

Bishopsgate Exchange is a haven from the bustle of Liverpool Street. Retreat downstairs into a large but cosy bar/restaurant and be greeted but helpful and cheerful staff. The food is excellent and the choice wide-ranging. (Try the poussin especially!) As for value, you will struggle to beat it in this overpriced area of London. I can't praise the staff too highly and I always thoroughly enjoy my visits there.

We went on a Steak and Lobster offer, brilliant. Steak was perfect and such a great deal. The staff were friendly, they had a speakeasy theme with hats and feathers which was great fun.

Lovely staff, great atmosphere, quiet enough for a good chat with background music just at the right volume, they turn it up later after 9pm if you fancy a dance. Will be my regular spot!

Balls Bros Bishopsgate Exchange has great decor and has a real friendly atmosphere. The staff are very pleasant and very welcoming.They run a great quiz night and occasionally other themed party nights! I have attended both the quiz night and the party night with a sizeable group of people and we all really enjoyed our time there. They cater very well for groups!The only downside is that it is a little difficult to find, due to the very small Balls Bros sign outside. However that said, it is in an extremely convenient location, right opposite Liverpool Street Station on Bishopsgate. It is definitely well worth searching out and we enjoyed it so much our group intends to go back again soon.

Excellent service and attention to detail. We used a small meeting room and a reseved area in the bar. Booking and set-up were hassle free, and staff were cheerful, efficient and couldn't do enough to help us. Will definately use again.

I frequent London every few months and the office is across the road, always manage to pop in for a few glasses of wine and the service is always attentive and respectful, even when the local after work crowd gathers. Recommend for a drink and a conversation with colleagues and friends

Everything from the food to the service to the atmosphere was spot on. We went on a Thursday night and the after work crowd had already started to gather. We hadn't booked a table but, the very friendly hostess managed to find us one. We only went in for a "quick drink" but, ended up staying all night! We had a platter and several rounds of cocktails, which were AMAZING. The staff were fast and friendly. We will definitely be going back!
