No taste! Waste of money, if u looking fr pakistani/indian food, never visit this place! Substandard and undercooke food…will not give more than 1 star , that is too for the service and hospitality only… but food quality is real down and expensive for the value as well !

Enjoyed an amazing lunch there. Afghani style lamb kofteh kebab with fragrant biriyani rice was a perfect combination. Taste is awesome, price is reasonable and the staffs are cordial. This place is good for a family style traditional dine in. Dishes are halal,there's vegetarian and kids option as well. Atmosphere wise there is chance of improvement. I will recommend this place to everyone.

Very tasty food. Had some chicken kabab, lamb biryani with rice. The kids loved the food and hospitality. We had some tea with milk and cardamon spice which was super tasty. Great food.

It was a lovely evening. Service was top notch. I think the chapli kebabs need to be larger and less overcooked but overall the food was nice. The server gave excellent service. They gave lots of bread. The lamb karahi was delicious.

I have visited Balkh several times, and whenever I bring friends around they have been very happy with the restaurant! The owner and staff are very welcoming, and the menu has a wide variety of options. The prices are extremely good and the food tasty. I will keep returning!

We found this restaurant whilst walking into town.we went for lunch that afternoon.It was a lively restaurant with a great atmosphere.

Bukhari Restaurant is located in an area in Southampton. It is expensive for the food served. The food for me is not good. The chicken is large in size and does not have a good taste. Chicken on charcoal is okay.

Food as always was very very desi. Authentic Afghani flavours I remember from Pakistan's countless Afghani restaurants. The Lamb tikka boti , the Chappali Kabab , hell simply the naan itself ( this is not the Naan bread - a highly starchy and bready proposition - this is the lighter flakier version). The atmosphere and location are where the star is lost , but if you can look beyond that , I would recommend this place as a good joint. I always take away but one could sit there to eat too.

We got a takeaway deal including a mixed kebab, half chickens, rice and curry sauces. We thought it'd be decent but we were surprised how good a quality everything was for the money we paid. Not finest gourmet but great authentic comfort food Fresh chicken and subtle fragrant flavoured rice (generous portion) was great. The curry sauces were probably the standout items and were packed with flavour which complemented the meat and rice. The veggie curry was surprisingly as flavourful as the meat curry. Slight cons was despite the mixed kebab being tasty and smokey the portion size wasn't so generous. Some of the the food wasn't piping hot (obviously as it had to be delivered). Overall this little gem really surprised me! Recommend it!

Nice atmosphere and delicious food

I was very intrigued when I saw the name of the restaurant ''Balkh'' as it is connected with the history of my country Bulgaria as well and I have heard a lot about that proud nation which gave also the name of our longest mountain ''Balkhan'', hence Balkan peninsula and also the place where my ancestors came from. The food was more than delicious, I was met with enormous hospitality and felt home. We had a nice chat, too.I hope to visit it again when I go back to Southampton

I am calling for 3 days to order a takeaway but there not answering and on the website it says that they are open but no one answers the call also I live 2.7 miles away from Balkh and I am ready to pay extra for delivery but I think that they just don't want to take my order.

Got a takeway from here and was probably the best takaway I've had. The shawaya chicken was extremely tasty, the qabeli rice was very very good, great kofta and the mixed vegetable curry was a delight. Only the second takeaway ive ever recommended on Facebook.

Nice sitting place. Food was ok and portions were comparatively smaller, ordered something more to fill ourselves and could hear the staff making fun of us in the kitchen,though lady working there was very kind.

I came all the way from Brighton to eat here. I found the food to be very healthy and delicious. Very nice nan bread, salad, kebab and mahicha. The Resturant is well decorated. The manager and the waitress who served us were very nice and had excellent hospitality. I would recommend this place for everyone.

I don't recommend this place at all! The worst Afghan food ever, I ordered qabili with mahicha and I saw the lady taking my food out of the microwave and bringing it to me, I was feeling sick and had diarrhea after having their food. They also overcharged me for the food.

I came here with big expectations honed by excellent food in some of London's Afghani restaurants. It wasn't quite that. I had a Qabili pulao that was just OK. Also tadka daal. It had strong taste of raw spices. Could have been better if cooked longer. Maybe another time?

A very nice restaurant with lovely atmosphere I only had Afghan lamb kebab and rice but it came with a bowl of chicken and chickpea soup and a small salad. I have had kebabs in Iranian, Lebanese, Turkish and Greek restaurants but none were as tasty as this will return to try something different next time.

Having gone to alot of afghan restaurants, I can say the food was alright and the customer service was alright as well. The lamb karahi was more indian than afghan karahi but I do look forward to trying other food there. Its a good place and a great concept of bringing central asian food to Southampton. I would recommend it to any one who would like to try some central asian cuisine

The owner makes up prices on the spot and charges whatever he feels like. When you question him about the price he just has a face on and doesn't give a valid response. The food is also very hit and miss so go at your own risk!

Came here with my cousin. Really nice food and the atmosphere was nice too. The customer service was good, they didn't hav3 any soup which was replaced with a curry. The chicken was soft, succulent and falvoursome. They give a lot of rice, i was so full from having half of the plate. I took the rest home. This place is hidden in Southampton and needs more recognition.
