my family recently stayed at Leonardo Hotel Southampton for two nights in Augest, and our experience was quite disappointing. The hotel does not have its own car park, which was inconvenient. To make matters worse, we were charged £60 for parking at the entrance while I was helping my 90 years mother into the hotel (10th floor). There were no warning notices about these charges, which felt very unfair. This unexpected cost put a damper on our vacation. Don't stay in this hotel if you drive your own car.

I recently stayed at this hotel for two nights at a cost of over €600, and it was nothing short of a nightmare. After using our key card once, it stopped working entirely. We repeatedly called reception to report the issue, and while they assured us that the lock would be fixed the next morning, nothing was done. This forced some of us to haul our bags through the city, as there is no nearby parking available. The next day, after a long day out, we returned to find the lock still not working. Once again, we had to contact reception, and although the evening receptionist was polite and called a mechanic, it took over half an hour for the issue to be resolved. This is unacceptable, especially for a hotel that claims to be four stars. On top of the key card issue, parking is a major hassle. The nearest parking garage is a 10-20 minute walk away and charges upwards of €20 per night. It’s completely inconvenient and adds to the frustration of staying here. While I’ve noticed that things tend to move slowly in Southampton, this experience was beyond frustrating. The level of service here is simply not up to the standards of a four-star hotel. The only saving grace was Tony, the mechanic, who was friendly and professional. Honestly, he should be running the place. The food at the hotel is okay, FOR UK standards, but nothing special. Prices in comparison to local food are insanely expensive. This is my first time to the UK and I can safely say even if I was held at gunpoint to live here, you can just send me to my creator. TLDR: I might be a little harsh on the review because I've been dealing with scummy letting agents and other issues in South Hampton, but I expect some sort of standard to be held. Absolute abomination. For the price, location, and issues, you could probably find a better place with more accodmation and ease of access.

Room was perfect in a good location, with great service from the staff, I enjoyed the bar and the food. my only issue was the woeful fire emergency protocol, the alarm went off and then silenced after 30 seconds so we thought it was a test, turns out it was a real emergency with the fire brigade being called out 20 mins later. Basically for the future you don't silence the alarm until the fire brigade turns up and tells you too.

Stayed here for a night on a Paultons park break. About 20 minutes from Paultons park, seems ideally located for shopping etc but we didn't get time to explore. Hotel was clean enough and beds were comfortable, unfortunately being in the city centre on a ring road outside was very noisy even late in to the night. That said staff could not have been more helpful with anything and everything we needed. Breakfast had a good selection and ran quite late so if you aren't in a rush you can take your time to enjoy it. Also plenty of milk for little ones bottles and even a gf/dairy alternative selection of milks and bread etc. Lobby has a little tuck shop selection which you can purchase at the front desk. Parking is obviously an issue, but having arrived about 9 pm on a Sunday night after dinner out, unloading at the front of the hotel, we parked at the Solent University building literally over the road from the hotel, which is free from midnight to 8.30 am and you can pay via ring-go app for the few hrs either side, so parking from 9.30pm to 10.30am cost £4.50 which we thought was very reasonable. All in all a very good experience and would stay again.

The lobby desk staff were very nice. Checkin was quick. The space provided by the front entrance to offload your luggage is very small and just inches away from a road turnoff. There are luggage racks available, but no one to assist, so you're on your own wheeling the luggage into the lobby and to your room. The room was ok, efficient with climate controls, and nice size TV. We asked for a king or queen sized bed for my wife and I. Instead, we got two full sized beds. Now, the shower was an experience. Nice sized bathroom, but the shower floor itself is, for some reason, more concave than flat. Fortunately, there was a small handrail for safety. The shower flow was very restricted, not very powerful. The shower head is not handheld and not adjustable in flow. Also, if you're not careful, the water can get scolding. Practice before actually getting in. The cleaning staff were very polite and helpful. Basically, the location was good for us, only 10 mins by cab to the ports. Stores and restaurants are a 10-minute walk. It's fairly comfortable for an English hotel. The in-house restaurant and bar are not bad. Dinner was good. Included breakfast, what you would expect, some good items, some so-so. Coffee was good and strong.

Very helpful and polite staff. The hotel is rated 4 star but I can't see how it can be. The building looks modern from the outside but once in the room you are greeted with artex ceilings and dilapidating rooms. Its a real shame and overall I felt mis sold. The room is stuffy with no airflow. I didn't want to use the bath due to look and it didn't feel particularly clean. Overall a disappointing experience, the rooms need to be updated.

The hotel is in the city centre BUT it has no parking. You can park opposite the hotel ina dodgy place - we couldn’t sleep all night worrying about somebody nicking our car. The Peppa Pig pack for the Kids promised in the booking was not what you would expect - has nothing to do with the matter. Only 1 lift worked so in the morning we had to walk down with bags and two small kids. Room was tired and every light in it and mirror was wonky. Bed was alright. Toilet was tired and not really clean. When we used the flush it sounded like a cargo train is passing by. It might be cheap but that’s also what you get. Oh and the bar area is ok but staff at the bar unfriendly and the pizza they served gave me heart palpitations in the night - was salty and full of cheese. I guess these days good service and clean rooms you get only in 5+ hotels :(

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Leonardo Hotel Southampton, and I cannot speak highly enough of the outstanding service provided by Duty Manager Morita. From the moment we checked in, Morita went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of exceptional.Upon arrival, Morita kindly upgraded our room to an executive suite, which added an extra level of comfort and luxury to our stay. While we did opt to pay for the upgrade, Morita's gesture truly made our experience unforgettable.Throughout our stay, the room was meticulously cleaned daily, and we were pleasantly surprised to find complimentary water, Pepsi, biscuits, and even coffee for the espresso machine in the room. These thoughtful touches did not go unnoticed and contributed to our overall comfort and enjoyment. What truly stood out, however, was Morita's willingness to go the extra mile to make our stay special. When I mentioned that it was my partner's birthday and I wanted to surprise them, Morita enthusiastically offered to help decorate the room. The surprise was a huge success, thanks in large part to Morita's assistance and attention to detail.Overall, our experience at the Leonardo Hotel Southampton was nothing short of fantastic, thanks in large part to the exceptional service provided by Duty Manager Morita. Their professionalism, generosity, and dedication to ensuring guests have a memorable stay truly set this hotel apart. I cannot recommend it highly enough, and I look forward to returning in the future. Thank you, Morita, and the entire team at Leonardo Hotel Southampton, for making our stay so incredibly comfortable and memorable.

First time we stayed in this hotel and our experience is worth sharing. First we could not find parking for one and half hour. Hotel booking time they said, you get parking in universiry campus just opposite to the hotel but we could not find parking anywhere they mentioned. They should clearly mention, there is no gaurntee that you will get parking especially on weekends or holidays time. Secondly the room we got has dirty carpet, wash basin drain was kind of blocked. We changed the room, and again there was problem in bathroom. We did not get hot water in the shower and most of the time water was sprinkled outside the bath area. Lastly the location of the hotel is horrible. Its like instead of a roundabout monument, they got this hotel here.....it was too noisy whole night....people were screaming and walking on the road can be heard on 9th floor of the hotel. We stayed for two nights in the hotel and I was just longing to go back to my home asap. Only good thing was Staff, they were very polite all through. There were no fridge in the hotel room at all. I would never reccommend this hotel to anyone who wants a peaceful holidays. Best wishes.

Sadly, I stay here pretty much every Saturday, repeatedly we do a late checkout only to be woken by housekeeping asking if we have a late checkout, meaning there's absolutely no point asking for one! This isn't the odd occasion, this is every week! Came to a head the other week where the manager said he would tackle the problem. Then last week even with those assurances we wouldn't be disturbed the maid knocked in at 10.35 even before the normal checkout time, saying oh sorry without an explanation!!! This is a really nice hotel, although rooms are becoming a little tired with again lack of service (iron was missing last week) toilet press was broken the week before, so not being checked properly after checkout) but repeatedly let down by their service. I'm not even going to bother complaining as nothing ever gets done when I do. All I want out of a hotel is a good nights sleep, thats honestly not too much to ask surely! It's almost as if housekeeping do it and say its a mistake but get you out the room quicker but in our case we are there pretty much every weekend, so it's causing issues. Our only option now is to go somewhere else. Which is sad, I really like the reception staff especially Lewis and Andre, they are always incredsbly helpful. I'm two minds to book 1 more time for Easter as it's so central for what we need but I've honestly had a gut full of this issue that no one listens too, especially the management. You'd think after thousands of pounds we might actually matter. Clearly not!

I am very picky when it comes to the hotels, I don’t remember giving a 5 start to any hotel but one resort at Antalya… Because of our job we travel a lot and I really had a great stay at this hotel. Everything was up to the standard. They upgraded our room to an executive one and it indeed was an amazing room, confy bed, nice view and a Nespresso machine was an addition. Breakfast was good, I tried their lunch/brunch it was nice if you do not wanna leave the hotel for the day but I still prefer trying restaurants outside.

The central location was ideal, but the room was not to a good standard. Our bathroom door handle was hanging off and there were large stains on the floor. It was ok for one night, but I would have been disappointed if staying for any longer.

So what you get here is very much in line with the price you pay. Only odd thing to notice is that, when asking room service, I was charged on the spot.
