Bakers Dozen in Sefton

Not been to this pub since before the pandemic, but decided to go for dinner during a visit to Liverpool. Not sure if it has changed management since our previous visit as the last time we were there it was very full and the staff were less then helpful. On this occasion, there were only a handful of people in the pub, even at 7.30pm, but the staff were extremely pleasant and friendly. The menu was reasonably priced and our food arrived in good time and was of good quality. Will definitely visit again when next in the area.

Quick lunch stop off and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the affordability of it. Ordered a chicken, smoked bacon & red onion wrap. I couldn't believe the size of the chicken chunks, absolutely amazing. Staff were lovely and the service was very quick given it was a busy lunchtime.

The staff member who served us at the bar and to our food yesterday evening was excellent. She was welcoming, very helpful and professional. She made the experience a positive one.

The bakers dozen is a nice place the food is always lovely and the staff are really nice I would recommend this place to anyone.

Booked in for the Easter breakfast with our little ones this morning the atmosphere was fantastic. All staff were really child friendly especially Andrew and Jack who served us. the little ones even got an Easter egg to finish the morning off! It was so nice we decided to come back for our Sunday lunch later on. I couldnt recommend this place enough, the child's portion was great our children ate every bite and ours was delicious too if you like roast Dinners I highly recommend the duo (Beef & Turkey) you will not be disappointed. Thank you Tony behind the bar lovely gentleman and Alex who waited on and brought the kids colouring activities such lovely people. What a great Easter we have had today and we will certainly be back!! Thank you.

Fantastic family pub. We had our Sunday lunch here today and it was delicious. It come out hot and was super tasty. The kids Sunday lunch size was ideal too and my little ones were content enough. The staff were great they got our kids some colouring activities while we were waiting that was nice. Lovely little team we were all very pleased and have booked in for next week! My 2nd complaint. Since been contacted by Andrew who states he is assistant manager. He gave email address to reply as @greenekong? Then the 2nd address he gave me was for the London greene king Ballot of which the area manager could only apologise. All this said, it just continues to add to the joke of a service received. I am still awaiting a refund foe food paid for but order not completed due to 'meat probe issues' . Over 2 weeks. No contact from manager bakers dozen out after taking my number. After contacting head off and after being contacted through poor reviews being posted. Absolute farce!

Placed an order for 4 meals via the app when arriving, to then be told the order could not be fulfilled due to the probes used to check the temperature of the meat being faulty. They assured me they would refund my order and apologised. Waited 10 days and still no receipt, so I went baker to the pub asked why it wasn't refunded, only to be told it's up to 2 weeks for a refund to be processed amd if I havent had it afyer 2 weeks, then I had to contact head office. We are over 2 weeks and I have tried to call head office with no success of getting through. I have since sent emails and had no response. This is an absolute joke now. It was at no fault of mine that the order couldnt be completed and yet it is me who has to go to all these lengths to tey and get my money back. I will never eat at a greene king again and advise everyone I know not to either. Disgraceful.

New manager is rube an picks at staff for the smallest things won't be coming again after seeing the treatment of staff by horrible manager especially the one who looks like goofy.. food was awful wouldn't feed the food to my cats plus the whole experience was a bad let down by manager who clearly doesn't want to be there an bosses staff around by dogs

I had a Sunday roast and it was amazing food was delicious and hot the staff was very friendly and happy great atmosphere would come again

Food was lovely and came quickly Staff were very attentive and helpful Perfect for a relaxing afternoon or cheap family dinner by the roast was especially great. Always have the best time coming with the family Will keep coming

Called last month on Mother’s Day and glad I did had a lovely meal with family . Food was delicious and food was delivered timely . Great atmosphere and staff were very friendly and attentive

Filthy cutlery, filthy glasses. Food average and staff would clearly you didn’t enter the pub - as a customer you will wish you never.

This place has really been picked as an establishment. The food is gorgeous and the drinks are amazing. Alex my server was incredible, very attentive and super sweet. Never had an issue he couldn't solve. Well done everyone. I will be coming back again with family

Where yo begin. We needed a venue that was child friendly and fun for the adults and uou guys matched the description perfectly. Firstly I have to say I thought we was met with a problem, my hubby is jn a wheelchair ♿️ and we arrived to realise we was up 2 steps. The staff rolled up their sleeves and got him up there. They promised our visit was going to be enjoyable and true to their word it was. Customer service 5🌟 Food 5🌟 Drinks 5🌟 Charisma 5🌟 Service 5🌟 Also clean bathrooms, massive bonus. I just want to say such a massive thankyou, you made a much needed group catch up with the kids an amazing experience and I appreciate you gor everything. Tony welcomed us and to be honest beciase of the wheelchair issue I was worried, he promised to sort and he did just that and made sure every mole was taken to make our evening perfect. Kim and Andrea are 3 of the most loveliest, kindest, full of energy servers I ever did meet. It was a real team effort and feel this wasn't a one of experience, I feel ti's is the standard the staff aim for with every customer. Thankyou to everyone, staff behind the scene and up front. We appreciate everyone and everything you did. Happy Mummy's =happy hubby's = happy kids... Happy group get together achieved ❤️

Staff were absolutely outstanding. Some of the best service I’ve received at a ‘pub grub’ setting. Reviews do not do this place justice!

Place is normally alright but was terrible this time. Burger was dripping of grease all over the plate, 2 burgers went to waste, I would of liked to complain to the staff but there wasn't one to be found around the pub, not even being the bar.

The bakers have definitely picked up as a pub, and it took me by surprise with the service I received, all smiley faces and fast service. I got the Chicken New Yorker, which was absolutely delicious with plenty on them. The pints on tap were super fresh and tasty, too. Would go again with my family 110%

Service very poor kept getting told dessert was coming and it took a while. Waiting on staff very curt appeared impolite.The whole pub seems to be going down hill again the barmaid spent half her time chatting leaving people standing at the bar the baguette we ordered was so dry not even buttered. Will not be using this pub again

Food was good the manager was on bar never got his name but really nice chatty guy and could not do enuff it was quiet but it was afternoon on a working day so to be expected. Good all round

Plenty of free parking and easy location to find. Beers were cold and tasted good, got a pool table and toy machines for the kids witu guaranteed win so not a waste of money like some places. Myself and my family (party of 8) had a meal in the baker's dozen today, and all I can say is Gill and all her staff where very polite and professional they where very friendly and helpful couldn't do enough for us, also the food was to die for and very well presented, also hot we never waited too long for it either couldn't of asked for a better place to eat and will definitely go there again

Jill an Kim I'm not gonna lie are the best service I've had for a very long while I don't come here often but everytime I have been all the staff have been fantastic even when they are busy definitely coming again.

Some of our family had travelled from Darwen in Lancashire to celebrate the long life of our wonderful Aunty. We all had a good catch-up. The food was excellent. The staff were very polite, helpful and professional. We will definitely dine here again.

Had meal here with my friends and children after the cinema. Lovely food and the waitress went out her way to make sure we were happy giving the children colouring stuff and a little party bag. I can't rememeber her name dark haired lady middle aged lady she was so nice and friendly. Seabass was amazing. Will be coming back.

We visited in half term for Dinner •. The food was really good and a good price but it was the staff that made our trip. Fill in particular was amazing! She was so friends and professional and when my son did not like his burger, Gill and another blond lady changed this for us. Gill followed up and made sure he was happy with what he had and brought over a little bag of goodies for him. We will absolutely be back here!

Lovely place to spend a few hours doing work admin . Found a nice quiet corner. Coffee on tap and lunch made for me 👍🏻 . Really productive out of office work day . The WiFi was great I had no trouble making teams calls . Will be back

Good food , great deals, fast service.

I visited here with my family for a meal during my week off. We were served by the new manager Tony, he was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for him. He made a fuss of my little sister and helped me with our drinks to the table. The food was served within 20 minutes and was really hot and delicious. Thank you all we will be back

Sat and waited for 80 mins, was told 2 different stories, one person told me that they stopped serving food at 7, the other told me that they stopped serving food at 8, I was lied to when leaving and was told that my refund would take a week to process, absolute disgrace. I ordered my food at 19:35 via the app, I saw my order on the screen when I asked to confirm the table number that I was sat at, it wasn't busy, and the staff walked past over a dozen times each, me and my wife sat there with no drinks for close to 90 mins to be told that we won't be served.

I have started.coming here at lease once a week with my client as she likes coming . We have got to no the staff and my client enjoys talking to Gill in the switch island . Nothing is to much trouble always happy to help . My client always enjoys her meal and chats to everyone all friendly.

Called here after hearing of new management taking over. What a difference this has made to the pub. Happy, friendly service, great food and atmosphere. Will definitely be spreading the word and coming back!

visited on the 2nd of feb, working was gill and Anthony, we turned up with a table of 20 people even though there where only 2 people working they still accommodated us, they where absolutely amazing the whole time, friendly welcoming and accommodating, food was on point couldn’t fault the day in the slightest !!

There is no experience to share. Arrived at 11:15 for breakfast and the doors all still locked. No notice of why it was closed and online it says opens at 11am. Do you want custom? Open your doors.

Quiet pub, limited food choice due to temporary kitchen problem

Came for tea with family and had a pub classic. Tony was very helpful and knowledgeable. Staff all lovely. Been a few times but you can tell things are looking up. Great pub and great hot food, definitely recommend trying this if you’ve never been!

First time back here in a long time and the place is so much better. Under new management and Tony Andrew and Ian made us feel really welcome. Quality of the food has really improved there is a good atmosphere around the pub and overall a much nicer place to visit. In a good location with the cinema nearby and would highly recommend for anyone looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful to grab a bite to eat as there are daily food and drink offers on everyday

Absolute disgraceful Christmas day food was diabolical all frozen veg potatoes packet turkey and what pub does not have sauces especially xmas day desserts were the same absolutely awful.I complained a few days later to be asked by the area manager "why didn't you complain on the day"I told him because it was xmas day I didn't want to make a fuss.plus I was told I would receive a full refund to then be called by the area manager to say I won't be getting a refund.also my daughter has left a review that they have taken down straight away.That in itself speaks volumes about this place.

Would rather defecate in my hands and clap than eat here again. What sort of food establishment can't cook chips? Honestly the best thing I had was that coke however there was about a 5th of the glass empty.

We haven’t eaten here in about 8 years & when we did it had gone downhill. Myself & my daughter came for food on Xmas Eve before the pictures. Firstly what a choice on the menu, we were both spoilt for choice. We both had different meals & they were both amazing. The staff were so friendly & helpful; we had an issue with the drinks we had ordered & they swapped them & apologised. We will be back - thank you

living local to the bakers means we do come regularly. but we would use this pub so much more with some live sports or horse racing. we would come for the day. the staff are amazing and the service is great. get some TVs and live sports will help bring some more atmosphere 😊

Although Gill and staff were good The food was absolutely disgusting all frozen and thrown together I'm sorry but it was awful.

Great service and will book again next year!! Lovely details with the table set up and staff couldn’t do enough for us. Food was really nice, very organised and nice little touches with the children’s crackers and gifts.

Arrived at restaurant for a booking, was told there was 1 chef, 1 waitress and 1/5 of the menu available. They were also apparently closing an hour after our reservation and we needed to order quick, indicated by paper printouts on the entrance. The woman working also attempted at gaslighting our group by saying that she spoke to one of us and had attempted to cancel our booking but no one in our entourage had received a call. Decided to go somewhere else, please avoid the Bakers Dozen for at least a short time while they fix this problem

Had the Festive 2 course meal. Staff very attentive and accommodating, service quick and very efficient. Honestly could not fault anything. Table was prepared and Xmas crackers too for myself and 2 friends. Traditional roast dinner was yummy, and so filling. Myself and 2 friends couldn't finish it, lots on the plate. Dessert was Raspberry trifle cheesecake was delicious. Thank you soo much to all the staff at The Bakers Dozen. Well worth the money 5☆

Jack and Andrew the bar staff couldn't do enough. They're so polite and helpful. Highly recommend . They go above and beyond.

Had a beautiful meal every thing cooked lovely. Staff very welcome in and polite. A good place to take children lots to choose from and very well priced.

Had a roast, deal only included soft drinks. Food was awful and pigs in blankets tasted very weird. I came home and vomited the whole meal up it was that disgusting and I will eat anything.

If I could have given 0 I would have - never again. Grey cold chicken (despite being on a "sizzler" plate peppers and onions cold slimy and oily. Didnt have half of what was advertised on the Menu and had to change dishes once ordered. Been the 3rd time we have been here now and had a bad experience- our own fault and won't be back.

The service from Alex, Gill and Amelia was exceptional. They went out of their way to make us, and especially our granddaughter, so welcome. You will be proud of them. I had been xmas shopping and finished the afternoon off at the pub for our evening meal with my family, we had Kim for our server l thought she was refreshingly friendly , helpful and eager to accomodate in the respect of making sure our small child had a high chair available to use. She pointed out early on that the pub restaurant would be closing early so that we had plenty of time to order our food. I asked Kim did she reccomend anything and she suggested the Lamb kofta wrap , which was very nice and I will have it again.We had excellent service from everyone on the night including Jill, Jack and Ant. I have only recently started going to the Bakers Dozen and I will return as it is so handy and a warm comfortable relaxed pub to be in, a good family pub. Thankyou to the staff on the night.

Stopped in for lunch whilst out shopping was served by a young girl called Kim .She was very informative and the meal was most enjoyable .It was quite busy but we were looked after very well .All staff seemed very nice.I would recommend and certainly return .Thank you. Marjorie Hannah and family.

Lovely evening meal before our cinema visit, staff attentive and helpful. Kim helped with describing the meals, nothing too much trouble. Genuine, smily and customer focused. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Went for lunch very clean surroundings.The food we chose was excellent from a big menu .The staff were so polite especially Gill the manager who had time to chat and made us feel very welcome. So great service all round and we will be back .
