Returning to “ Castle “ for family visit we took a stroll up from our Hotel and stumbled upon Baileys. The mere sight on the menu of Oatcakes suggested we have to enter. We were not disappointed, it was like a full breakfast but better. The staff were friendly and funny and it was great to hear,” tara duck” as we departed. Cracking little quaint coffee shop. Highly recommended

Friendly staff, good food, quaint tea room. All food was freshly prepared when ordered. Nicely presented on china plates. We has sandwiches served with good size side salad, pot of coleslaw and crisps. Prices very reasonable. Fresh cream scones delicious.

Visited this morning for breakfast, absolutely amazing, nothing was too much trouble .. Staff very friendly and we made very welcome.. Will certainly be going back. .

Came here for afternoon tea for a friends baby shower, the sandwiches and cakes were delicious especially the scones. Food was presented very well and definitely worth the money. the staff were friendly & kept us all topped up with drinks. Great selection of cakes and sandwiches definitely would recommend

We arrived at 13.35 ,(I'd just brought a parking ticket ) and finally our food arrived at 14 .28 ,simple order 2 toasted sandwiches and oatcake with bacon .the service was non- apologetic,my husband's toasted sandwich wasn't toasted and his soup was tasteless and like baby food ,much too thick .no coleslaw with the 'salad ' 2 slices of tomato and wet iceberg .very disappointed as this could be so much better ...it's quite a pretty place ,or used to be.

Enjoyed a Saturday afternoon lunchtime snack here. Milkshakes, teas and sandwiches/toasties for us. Did what it say's on the tin with nicely presented food. Friendly service. Reasonably priced. Only slight niggle is that we sat downstairs on the ground floor by the entrance. Felt the cool outside draft after a while. On our next visit we would sit upstairs. Would return again.

I know that everyone is concerned about global warming but that shouldn't mean turning the heating off on a cold day. Apart from dithering, the food and presentation was good and the interior is quite quaint.

Staff are friendly and prices are okay, then again they could be cheaper. Decor is okay as well. My chorizo toastie was so plain and lacking in flavour, that I nearly fell asleep eating it. It was very dry. The salad served with it was basic. Also the side pot they serve with it is odd. Overall, not good.

I and my mother was hoping to try this new place, we turned up at 3 pm, 1 hour before their opening times shows them to close. To see a couple of the tables had people seated and having food and drinks. We didn't see any staff members so we thought to seat ourselves, we couldn't see a menu on any of the tables, so we went up to the counter to find one, for someone out of the back to come to them from showing us the menu to then say "by the way the kitchen is closed" Like why would you give us a menu to then say we can't get anything?? why did you close your kitchen 1 hour before your opening times say?? We won't be giving them another chance.

Called in for breakfast service was excellent, lovely pot of tea and delicious egg on toast. Would recommend.

Very comfortable seating area upstairs with a wide choice of teas - herbal and otherwise - and a great selection of cakes. Great place to meet up with friends

Visited Saturday 26th January 2019 to try their Lobby (stew), which they only cook on Friday's and Saturday's. They had a post it note on the food board saying 'Sorry none left', however they did find one portion so my friend had that and I ordered jacket potato and chilli with garlic bread (I have had this here before and it was delicious). The staff were different , service a bit hap hazard, it normally takes 15 - 20 minutes for food to be prepared and served. After 30 minutes we were getting worried as we had an appointment to attend.I was then informed they had no potatoes for the jacket potato! so I asked if they had chips, they don't do chips, rice, no they don't do rice but they could go and buy some and cook it.....I eventually plumped for pasta. Time went on we had been here for 45 minutes, no-one else was eating downstairs so they weren't snowed under, The pot of tea had arrived some half hour ago so was almost cold by the time the food arrived. The lobby arrived first and eventually my meal arrived, cheese had been sprinkled over the top, I asked for it to be removed as I don't eat cheese, there was no garlic bread, instead a panini had been put on the plate sliced in half and filled with cooked cheese. No time to carry on complaining due to appointment so eat what I could of pasta and chilli. Left the rest. My friends portion of lobby was very salty and consisted mainly of potato, carrot and parsnip with one tiny piece of meat. I refused to pay full price for my meal. Last year we visited this cafe three times to be met with professional service and food was nicely presented and on time. Has this cafe been sold? We'll never no because we won't be going there again.

Ordered bacon, brie and cranberry panini, it was a cranberry and bacon panini with a sliver of brie, all you could taste was the cranberry! There should of been homemade coleslaw which turned out to be onion, tomato with mint sauce, you would normally have this with a popadom in an Indian restaurant. Dreadful experience.

My friend and I visited the tearoom we had 2 teacakes black coffee and a latte I asked for a bill to pay but you were reluctant to give one My treated me and went pay but she was there a while and after asked her what had gone on . She had been checking all the prices they told her that clearly came to under £10 but the young man insisted the bill was £11. She is not impaired and quite rightly worked out in her head it should have been under £10 . The young man wouldn’t check it properly by using the till or calculator and didn't and was very rude making her pay the £11 and complained when she had to give him another note to change As we were about to go to a funeral she didn't wont any more fuss so we left I don't normally give negative reviews but I have contacted the cafe twice and they haven't responded so I just felt I need to warn people and hopefully this time the cafe will offer some apology /explanation It was a shame as we had enjoyed our coffees etc

The morning after an overnight stop in Newcastle, we decided to have breakfast in this beautiful cafe. The food was very good and there was plenty of it - bacon, sausages, tomatoes, mushrooms, beans, loads of toast and butter and a very generous pot of tea with more than enough milk for several cups each. The menu offered a good variety of breakfast options and the service was excellent. We sat downstairs and the beautifully decorated and characterful room was filled with sunlight and offering a good view - when we could take our eyes off the delicious food. Excellent food at an extremely reasonable price and we will most certainly visit this gem of a cafe next time we come to Newcastle.

My sister & myself had afternoon tea in this delightful tea room. The tea or coffee was plentiful as was the delicious selection of home made cakes & sandwiches. We visited on a week day , for which there is a promotional price of £10 each. Excellent value for a delightful afternoon treat. Pleasant staff & great service. Worth a visit.

Booked afternoon tea for 12 ladies as part of a Hen Do celebration and we had a fab time. The food was great, (especially the cakes!) and excellent value for money at £12.50 each. The staff were incredibly helpful, and were happy to refill our tea pots for us over the course of the afternoon. Lovely environment too, perfect venue for a very British afternoon tea. Recommended!

We called in to Bailey's Vintage Tea room for some lunch (while in the middle of an Easter Egg Hunt) and we were really glad that we did.

A lovely little tea room at the top of the high street. Great home made food and cakes and an excellent selection of teas and coffees. Lovely lunches and afternoon tea, a little gem in the town centre.

Such a pleasure to find this tea room. Excellent and varied menu of delicious quality. Traditional old fashioned service makes this a stand out tearoom which is clearly proud of first class quality. And they serve proper loose leaf tea - but then you would expect it to.

Perfect venue used for a friends baby shower. Beautiful place and amazing value for money. Debbie and Carolyn were absolutely incredible every step of the way, cannot thank them enough.

Saturday the day of shopping and ladies that breakfast and lunch. Called here and were very happy with the whole experience. We sat upstairs, the place is nicely decorated and clean with pleasant staff and the owner was also helpful and lovely. We wanted a couple of changes to what was on the menu and this was done with no hesitation or extra charge!!!!!! We had a full English without sausages but replaced with fresh grilled tomatoes and the fried egg was swapped to poached. My friend asked for poached eggs on toast and again not on the menu but sorted quickly and with a smile. Food was plenty and served attractively. We will be back and will tell people about this venue as it's hard to find somewhere that is "nice" with good quality food/drinks and cakes etc. Thank's Bailey's Vintage Tearoom's for starting our Saturday with a huge smile :)

Afternoon tea for 16 ..... cannot fault anything from the communication arranging the booking, the variety of sandwiches and cakes to the friendly and nothing too much trouble staff. Will definitely be returning brilliant value for money. Thanks to all at 'Bailey's' keep up the good work!!

myself and my daughter called in for some lunch and straight away we loved the decor and all the vintage decorations.we had lasagne that came with half a bagguette and side salad.we got loads and it was yummy.we also had two drinks each and it was less than £20.we will definitley going again,it as a great atmosphere.

Deberíamos haber sabido que esto no iba a ir bien cuando el té era fuerte era repugnante y yo beber té fuerte. Entonces después de esperar una hora para nuestro té de la tarde para llegar preguntamos si había algún problema!

Visitamos con mis padres ancianos y sólo tengo elogios para dar. Lugar era limpio y fresco con vajilla preciosa. La comida era excelente. El servicio era excepcional de todo el personal - por encima de todo lo que he experimentado recientemente. Gracias en particular a Jennifer nuestra camarera, nada era demasiado problema y nos sentimos muy mimados GRACIAS - estoy deseando volver en nuestro próximo viaje. Altamente recomendado

Visitamos a la hora del almuerzo para una bebida caliente y un snack bar. Parece pequeño desde fuera, pero muchas mesas en el piso de la calle y de 1 aseo en la planta 2ª. Buena variedad de tés, cafés, Staffordshire tortas, sándwiches, pasteles, etc., etc.

Me encanta el café y pastas, tristemente en Newcastle Under Lyme tratando de conseguir o es un trabajo difícil. Decidimos probar Vintage Bailey's Tearoom y no me defraudó, fantástica selección de cafés de baja que sabor hermoso. Yo tenía un bollo que estaba delicioso, incluso puede ser uno de los mejores. Por desgracia, no se podrá volver o recomendar debido a una vergüenza de servicio al cliente. Después nos sentamos a 11. 20 y no había un menú en la mesa sin embargo nos sirvieron rápidamente, justo antes de las 11. 30. Puse el café y un bollo para mí y pedí un trozo de pan para mi hija de 2 años. Justo después de 11. 30 la camarera vino y nos dijo que no podía haber la tostada como parada de desayunos se sirve después de las 11. 30. No sé sin menú, pero de todos modos nos había pedido antes de las 11. 30 Y seamos honestos aquí estábamos hablando de un pedazo de pan para un niño de 2 años. La camarera dijo que preguntara, ella pronto regresar diciéndonos absolutamente no tostadas. Deberíamos haber dejado entonces, realmente, pero teníamos un bollo de pan en nuestra posesión comprado anteriormente y dejar que nuestra hija comer mientras pasamos nuestras bebidas y bollo. Estoy completamente indignado en este vergonzoso servicio al cliente por las siguientes razones;

Aquí es donde vamos para un buen trago de chocolate caliente, hecho con leche (leche de soja también disponible). Las bebidas calientes, lo cual es una ventaja (a diferencia de mucho costa, donde puedo beber mi chocolate caliente de soja en uno).

I visited Bailey about 6 months ago and we ordered drinks and food (panini), the drinks arrived promptly but the food didn't appear for 50 minutes after we'd asked where it was and we'd notice other tables who'd arrived after us were all getting their food. So it's six months later, we've avoided the place since the first incident but we thought the same can't possibly happen again. Exactly the same with not even an apology this time. The staff are nice and friendly, and the food it good, but you've got to get your kitchen orders more organised. Won't be visiting again, as we were both late back to work and we had to rush to eat the food.

Hemos visitado Bailey's en varias ocasiones y nos pareció que el personal era cálido y

Mi marido y yo vamos regularmente normalmente una vez a la semana. La selección de tés y cafés es excelente. Los caseros deliciosos pasteles. Los bocadillos, etc. son una delicia, todo servido con una sonrisa desde el personal más amable que te puedas imaginar. Sus comidas especiales son geniales, pero debido a su popularidad es mejor pedir con antelación. Estamos saliendo de allí para el almuerzo de hoy.

Reservé el té de la tarde para mí y mi hija para el sábado pasado, después de haber descubierto recientemente que ofrecía sin gluten Bailey's, dado 3 días de aviso. Cuando llegamos, teníamos una mesa reservada junto a la ventana, y el personal era muy servicial y amable, nos sirve inmediatamente, explicando sobre nuestras opciones de sandwiches. Les recordé que estaba libre de gluten, pero no había necesidad, estaban en! Nos dieron una hermosa de hojas de té sueltas y luego la comida llegó! 2 Conjuntos de sándwiches de nuestra elección, y en la placa inferior de la parada de pastel, un surtido de pasteles encantador! Como celíaca, era una alegría a ser presentado con limón tarta de merengue, una enorme porción de la torta de zanahoria, y lo mejor de todo, un bollo encantador con mermelada y nata. Había demasiado para maletas, pero ambos eran siempre como el perro personal dijo no logra terminar el té de la tarde y lleva una casa de bolsa para el perro. Fue una experiencia fabulosa y hemos reservado de nuevo para el próximo mes! No puedo recomendar lo suficiente, especialmente si necesitas gluten

He estado yendo a los salones de té con regularidad durante los últimos 4 años. La cálida bienvenida de Claire y su equipo, la comida y lo he intentado todo en el menú es fantástico desde la elección, frescura, presentación, calidad y precio. La variedad de tés es increíble, todo servido a la perfección estilo vintage. No te decepcionará, nada es demasiado problema. No puedo esperar para la próxima visita para probar otra de la casa pasteles recién horneados tendrá muchas opciones para elegir.

Este es un excelente restaurante cafetería. Comida maravillosa y una gran selección de bebidas inc muchas variedades de té y café. El servicio fue muy amable y el lugar es muy cómodo. Una vez que han visitado este café es muy probable que volver por más. Un gran lugar para reunirse con amigos y familia. La cafetería dispone de dos plantas para elegir , baja y habitación superior .

Hoy en día nos fuimos para el almuerzo de Navidad especial en familia Baileys cafe y fue una de las mejores Navidades para llevar que hemos comido. Fue una excelente relación calidad-precio y había una gran variedad de elección. Somos clientes leales y recomendaría este lugar a cualquiera, tienen una gran variedad de pasteles y bocadillos. El personal es fantástico y muy amable, deberían estar muy orgulloso de su negocio. Nos veremos en 2016.

I have visited Bailey's tea room on many occasions over the years, the menu is so varied I am always spoilt for choice and love the choice of freshly baked cakes. Definitely worth a visit when shopping in town x
