Back's Delicatessen in Stockport

They have a nice selection of food such as crisps, biscuits, ice creams, sauces and cold meats but the sandwiches are overpriced and disappointing. The bread they used in the sandwich I had was a cheap white baton and there was hardly any chicken in it, at £4.50 I expect much better. Some of the items on the deli counter are a bit overpriced as well. The asparagus they get locally is wonderful when it is available.

Payment was declined as the girl on the till accidentally put it through as £4000! I'm totally fine with an honest mistake but what I am not ok with was the way the male worker was incredibly rude to me about it. It's been a weekly treat during lockdown and wont bother again.

I do like backs deli and the food is tasty albeit overpriced. However I’d still go back for the food but every single time I’ve been to this place I’ve been made to feel like a nuisance by the staff, I was asking questions and I felt awful for doing so. Please up your customer service guys, it really is bad

First time visit to Back’s deli - excited to try somewhere new. Unfortunately, food was so bland and tasteless that I genuinely have had nicer produce from Greggs. Considering the price paid I expected good quality (£4 for a mediocre and tasteless sandwich? Go to Martins sandwich shop further up the road instead for a cheaper, tastier and bigger sandwich!). Staff were so disengaged/disinterested in us being there, it ended up being a painfully awkward encounter. I really thought that given COVID-19 and the potential for this to really impact upon some businesses, that staff would be wishing to attract and retain customers. I shall not be returning to this place in a hurry, and will disappointingly be recommending my friends and family eat and buy elsewhere too. Hopefully the owners will think about improving the quality of the food served, and consider the impact that the mood of staff have on the customer experience.

The deli has a good range of produce in the shop such as ice cream, curry sauces, bread, chocolate and all sorts of other tasty goodies. They also offer some lovely food over the counter and you can sit in. Definitely worth a visit and the juices are definitely worth a try. On a last note the staff are always very friendly and helpful.

Stopped here for a bacon sandwich and a cuppa tea - 4 people behind the counter all doing something so i had to wait a little while untill one decided to take my order - 'Eat in or out ?' I was asked. 'In please' i replied, and took a seat at a rickety table next to the window ( four small tables are availlable at the end of the counter ) Food and drink arrived - the Bap was not as fresh as i would have hoped (at 09:30 in the morning) and the bacon was not cooked enough (the fat was still opaque) i ripped off the fat and ate the sandwich. I paid £5.75, which on exiting the premises found I had been chgarged an extra £2.25 for the luxury of sitting at the little table - REALLY??? £2.25 - so if four of us went in for a sarnie each, the bill would have been loaded with a £10:00 charge. I'm in the wrong business!! Will I go again - I don't think so. . . .

This place does really tasty fresh sandwiches and other light food. It's delicious and there are both healthy and unhealthy options

I went here for lunch today and I had to comment.... There was a beautiful Carrot Apple and Pecan cake on the counter... I couldn't resist and THANK GOD as it was the most incredible cake I have ever eaten. Sandwiches are always full of fresh ingredients and very pleasant people working here. 10/10

Yo como aquí para el almuerzo de forma regular. Hay espacios para comer adentro y afuera.La comida siempre es muy fresca y sabrosa, y hay una gran variedad de opciones de ensaladas y carnes que cambian a diario.Los huevos scotch son fantásticos. Las piernas y los muslos de pollo también son muy sabrosos.Tres muslos de pollo, una ensalada y ensalada de col vienen a un increíble 3 para comer dentro, que es un tercio del precio en comparación con cualquier cosa cercana.El café también es bueno también.

Passing by and just fancied a pork pie! Popped in...A few seats in both inside and out! Good deli inside and a super pie with salad. A refreshing ginger beer. Will try a coffee next time!

He estado aquí 3 o 4 veces en el último mes y sus sandwiches son de gran calidad. También ofrecen una variedad de productos salados calientes y fríos, como mini baguettes de pizza y huevos escoceses. También hay una despensa decente con alcohol y pastas premium, salsas y condimentos, etc. El único inconveniente es que cada vez que he estado allí, me da la sensación de que el personal es particularmente / notablemente antipático. No hay un verdadero espíritu de amistad o incluso una pizca de charla jovial en cualquier momento. Es una tensión extraña que he notado cada vez que he estado allí y me parece un poco extraño. No es suficiente para desanimarme, ya que el servicio en sí es relativamente eficiente, pero siempre me deja pensando qué sería para una sonrisa y una cálida bienvenida.

A nice little deli, had a lovely fresh sandwich made. Could get a bit busy as not many staff. But the sandwich was worth the wait.

Ingresó para comprar un batido el sábado justo antes de las 3 pm, fue rechazado por un asistente miserable que me dijo que habían limpiado la máquina para que no hubiera licuado. Cierra a las 5 p.m., se anuncia en el pizarrón pero * está sujeto a los caprichos del personal en el día.El personal parecía que era su objetivo principal ponerse en orden lo antes posible para cerrar, no vender algo que pudiera interferir con esto a los clientes.No volveremos!

As the title says... This is a fab deli, with a great selection of cheese, craft beer, home made cooked food and great sandwiches at lunchtime too! Always served with a smile and made to feel that your custom is appreciated.

Huge array of Home produced food to eat in or takeaway. Friendly humorous staff, knowledgeable and helpful. Excellent hygiene standards. Makes local shopping a must do experience.

Almorcé en Back's Deli con un viejo amigo hace un par de semanas, ya que es local para los dos. Pedí un panini / envoltura de camote que era encantador. ¡El café también era delicioso! ! ! ? Nos sentamos a comer, que era refrescante, el personal era amable y el servicio fue rápido. ¡Definitivamente regresaré!

Al azar se detuvo a desayunar. Golpe de suerte. Servicio encantador feliz personal genial. Teníamos un barm con tocino, huevos y aguacate fresco y de gran calidad, incluido el zumo fresco. Lástima que estoy tan lejos como yo estaría en diariamente para el almuerzo. No hay baño, pero no puedo decir que podría usar uno cerca.

Sólo he utilizado este sitio para su tienda, comprar mercancías secas y sándwiches/ensaladas. Debo decir, sin embargo, son siempre frescos y de primera calidad. El personal es limpio, elegante y amable y charlar mientras haciendo un sandwich a mi especificación. Siempre me gusta mi visita y se lo recomiendo de todo corazón.

Me gusta mucho la comida de aquí. Los bocadillos son geniales, zumos precioso, buena selección de productos de alta calidad de calidad. No necesita decir, y normalmente no hago esto, pero me siento obligado, hay a menudo un - Aire de tensión con el personal. They have a great sandwich deli bar, which offers loads of good cold meats to have in a variety of sandwich breads (although i wish they stocked more Baguettes!!) They make a lot of the stuff fresh in house but of course some things are bought it. All home made stuff is labeled as such so it is nice to know what you're eating is from the same room as you! The staff are happy and friendly which is great, and they have a wide range of beers and wines to indulge on too.

i do like it in here i live in this area and do like to visit. can be a little too busy and you can tell the staff are feeling the pressure. needs a bit more choice and more deals on

I remember what a lovely friendly place this was before the present owners took over some years ago. There seems to be a high turnover of staff,and an air of tension about the place,and as other reviews have remarked,poor customer service. Not a happy shop,for customers,or staff,I suspect. I certainly won't be returning.

Nice food and reasonable prices (for Heaton Moor) but don't they know it.Every time I have come in here the staff have been very brash and really don't have the first clue about customer service, although they do know how to make a nice sandwich (which is obviously also important).Unfortunately, as well as the lack of professionalism of the staff, which could easily be solved by a bit of traing, the shop suffers from an annoying layout design flaws. When you walk in the queue forms towards the ordering counter as you would expect however there are signs pointing you to join the queue from the opposite direction (which everyone ignores). The result is choas especially during busy times. Clearly this disorientates the staff and makes them grumpy. The last time I went in the lady behind the counter screamed at everyone to "Get in line! We can't see who's next!" and pointed in the opposite direction of the useless signs. I felt like a child getting told off at the school canteen.Once you have got what you want there is a separate till for paying. Not a bad idea (in terms of food hygiene and efficiency) except that because it is separate from the counter it is intermittently staffed. In fact, frequently when I go I am left standing there like a lemon whilst I wait for someone to spot me. This annoys the staff working hard behind the food counter and probably makes them even more grumpy.So, to sum up, nice food and great potential but takes its customers for granted which I hope will not be its downfall.

A great place to get your Saturday night treat food. Lots of unusual food. You can sit in or soak in the sun outside if you have time. Staff always friendly

I highly recommend Back's. We started with a selection of hors doeuvres. The main course was generous helpings of Lancashire Hot Pot, with red cabbage, plus vegetarian lasagne, and a selection of salads. To follow was a delicious fruit salad, and gorgeous cakes. Everyone loved the food, and I'm still being asked who the caterer was. The Deli is very bijou so we had the party elsewhere. Andy brought it all together in an unfamiliar venue, and did it admirably.

Back's Delicatessen is not a proper restaurant per se - mostly for take away (and fabulous catering choices, too) from the wonderful delicatessen - BUT they now have a lovely little seating area for eating in. The Owner/Chef/Baker, Andrew Broda is truly gifted as a chef whether it is a simple delicious chicken salad or quiche or any one of his unique homemade creations with local produce - it is always delicious...AND the Italian coffee is the best I have had in a general area that is blessed with many places to choose from to get very good coffee! There is a large assortment of deli favorites and hard to find items, local, national and international wines and beers.
