Usually very good tonight all I got was what I call chip crumbs and not chips sorry can't attach photo

Not even chips, basically the scrap end of chips… big portions of potato scraps… greasy fish, ultra slow delivery, gone down hill so much, used to be a great fish and chip shop but now rubbish…

We as a family have been using this fish and chips for over 10 years. Gradually the quality just got poorer. We used to order lightly battered fish and chips mainly... the fish would be hit and miss whether you would actually get a good peice under all the hard, solid batter, as at times you would just be left with a few mouthfuls of cod if you were lucky.. the chips would at times be unedible, tasting like they have been reheated time again and be solid. If we were to phone to dare complain the staff were very rude. The latest and last thing we ordered was a ham and pineapple pizza for the first time.. was absolutely burnt to a crisp. We phoned to ask for another one as this was unacceptable and unedible. The manager took the call and was extremely rude to us. She came round to deliver us a fresh one and openly stood by our front door and admitted the pizza oven bases weren't cleaned off and there so have caused the pizza base to burn (great hygiene!!) Following by saying we have complained alot over the years, yet aditmitting the poor quality standard of there food was there fault?! So I guess we as customers are just supposed to shut up, hand our money over and eat burn and over cooked food?? Never again will we go back to them nor will we or our guests recommend them. Disgusting food and disgraceful staff!

The stench can be smelt over 400 meters away! Gave it a try to before I posted this as wasn’t sure if the smell was anything to go by! They use old old smelly fat!! Had bad gut for days!! Felt so ill. Please do try it - just so you know what a good fish and chip shop isn’t!!

Just had fish and chips delivered from wondefrys and it was spectacular, perfectly cooked flakey cod and really nice crispy on the outside soft in the middle chips! Fish and chips can be notoriously hard too deliver but they really pulled it off. Couldn't rate highly enough

Chips aren’t really chips there nothing but bits, out of the last 3 orders over 4 weeks there the same soggy bitty bits, not a decent whole chip.... portions are good however this doesn’t make up for the bad food... better places around locally, the place used to be really good all the time but now it’s just a had been....

If you want to visit the shop instead of ordering on line, I wouldn’t bother, went today ordered food at 5.02pm still wasn’t ready at 5.32 , but the online orders were flying out the door, got a bit angry and asked if it took fxxxxxx half hour to cook two pieces of fish and a hot dog, got money back went to chips ahoy so much better

Hemos pedido varias veces en el pasado, pero esta vez será la última.La comida llegó 40 minutos después de la hora de entrega indicada. No hay llamada para decir que estaban atrasados o que iban a llegar tarde. Llamé para ver qué estaba pasando y estaban muy sorprendidos de que aún no hubiera recibido el pedido, pero me aseguraron que se había ido un poco tarde y que estaba en una bolsa caliente para que no hiciera frío.La comida llegó poco después. Hacía un frío de piedra. Las patatas fritas estaban frías y empapadas. Pedimos la hamburguesa de pollo deluxe. . . ni siquiera llenaba el bollo en el que estaba, muy, muy pequeño. Pedimos estos en el pasado y obtuvimos una pechuga de pollo grande y gorda, pero esta vez obtuvimos una pequeña y delgada por el mismo precio. Casi nada de mayonesa, tuve que agregar la mía propia, de lo contrario habría estado bastante seca. Una vez más, estos no estaban calientes, solo calientes.También pedimos aros de cebolla, sabían deliciosos, sin embargo, también estaban fríos y mal drenados. había tanta grasa saliendo de la bolsa.En general, no volveremos a ordenar y ya no recomendamos este lugar.

Ordered 2x chicken breasts, 1xmed chips 1 curry sauce. Chicken was good Chips , they need to buy better potatoes and oil. They were oily and looked like scraps. Charged delivery and we 5 mins down road. £22 !!! Too expensive. Won’t be ordering again

Amable bienvenida y buen servicio, y también tienen pedidos en línea.Mis bocados de bacalao (5) eran enormes y deliciosos, el pastel de pescado casero también era bueno, al igual que la pechuga de pollo. Las patatas fritas tenían demasiados "trozos" para mi gusto, como se puede encontrar en tantas tiendas de pescado y patatas fritas.Me las arreglé para aparcar justo afuera / sus medidas Covid fueron tranquilizadoras / la relación calidad-precio estaba bien.

This business is now known as Wonderfry's and has greatly improved in menu choice and quality. Fantastic online ordering either for collection or delivery. Good tasty food. What more can you ask for?

Las patatas fritas eran muy pequeñas y mordidas, al igual que los cortes de las papas, ordenaron 3 bacalao ligeramente rebozado que estaban quemados, huecos y basura. ¡Wonderholme está haciendo un muy buen trabajo arruinando allí una vez una gran reputación de comida! Probablemente ahora la peor tienda de chips.

Hicimos nuestra última visita a Wonderfries (antes Babers)El pescado era prácticamente incomible con una masa vieja muy grasa que era gruesa y oscura. El propietario de este establecimiento claramente no respeta ni se preocupa por sus clientes, ya que toda la comida, incluidos los chips, que no se hubieran visto fuera de lugar en la cuneta, terminó en la papelera.No volveré y definitivamente no lo recomiendo.

Tried several times to get a takeaway via the app but would have been quicker to grow potatoes myself and cook it. App not working. Tried phoning to explain predicament but girl on phone not interested. Won't be back.

Vinimos aquí para disfrutar de una excelente oferta familiar de 5 comidas, 4 salchichas, papas fritas grandes y una salsa de curry, una ganga, también tuvimos una comida para niños que fue bogof por 1 y 1 gratis, también si no he probado un buñuelo de frijoles horneados, u Mi amigo no sé qué es lo que falta, volví, me encantó el lugar.

Fuimos a aquí después de viaje a la playa. Era bastante tarde las patatas fritas eran preciosas no grasienta en todas las porciones ¡guau! Una pequeña y gran alimentado 6 de nosotros casi todos los adultos teníamos nuestro propio hamburguesas para ir con ellos.Lugar muy amable sin duda volvería en lugar de nuestro habitual.

Excelente servicio y la comida era excelente. ¡Qué gran porción de patatas fritas con encantadoras cod golden maltratada. El personal también era muy servicial con una sonrisa de todos ellos. Me dieron una cálida bienvenida directamente entré! Gracias Babers volveré pronto!

Went in and bought the family five offer that I'd heard about, massive delicious portion of chips, 4 sausages and a big curry sauce. Was fantastic and the staff were lovely too! Will be my new weekly treat, kids loved it!

the chips had been cooked more than once,and so had the fish,the batter was rock hard,and the fish was not very white,please don't dish up saturday nights left overs on sunday,by cooking them over again,as customers can tell.will never use this chip shop again, 2 mouth fulls was enough,before it went in the bin.a waist of my hard earned money.

Me encanta esta Chippie y lo usa regularmente. Sin embargo, esta noche, el martes 1 de marzo, mi pescado estaba preparado por la chica rubia pelirroja nos suministró que normalmente sirve como la freidora femenina fue ocupado por la parte de atrás. Esta chica es claramente no es una freidora como mi pescado era horrible. La pasta era tan gruesas y que fue hecha la pasta era duro como una roca y el pescado seco. Por favor no dejes tus estándares drop Babers!!!

The food at Babers is definitely the best in the area. Portions are great and everything I have tried from there tastes amazing. Only improvement I can this of would be a delivery service!

We bought the feed a family for £5er meal deal amazing 4 sausages and large chips with a curry sauce all that for £5 amazing value loads of chips will be returning here, best fish and chip shop round staff are so friendly as well

Regular customers here because it is by far our favourite chip shop. You get huge portions of chips which are delicious. And great fish too. Couldn't fault the place!

Un gran menú y el tamaño de las porciones grandes pero de calidad tristemente deficiente. Patatas fritas frío y sabor como cartón, el pescado no es mucho mejor. El servicio increíblemente lento; he esperamos a menudo más de 10 minutos para la comida, aunque ha habido sólo pedimos una o dos personas en la tienda (no por nada preparado a pedido). Lo siento, pero en general no me impresionó en absoluto!

Avoid this place like the plague its dirty and we did not realise this until we went back into the shop to complain about having upset stomachs from the lunch we had brought from there.Anaemic sausages and undercooked fish resulted in the whole Family being unwell

i'd go back, seeing as the man behind the counter is so fit! the wait for the food was a while but i didn't mind because i had good eye-candy!

First time at this take away and won't be going back.Overpriced for what you get - £2.70 for a pie, and only a few pence more gets you a fish the size of a donut (fishcakes are the same size and much cheaper!). Peas were cold, curry sauce was missing and the gravy was gloopy and clearly done in the microwave.Staff not overly attentive, one seemed more interested in watching Harry Potter on the instore TV than doing other jobs!Will definitely be trying out one of the other chippies in the area.

I visited here with my 4 year old son, mum & husband for take away chips. Whilst waiting (about ten minutes) for our food my son needed the toilet which my mum took him to use- we were served our food and while waiting for them to come back we were physically removed from the building by obviously the boss who very aggressively told us to get out with our take away- I explained we were just waiting for my son from the loo and the guy started ranting at me that I was a typical English girl and to go away. Was so shocked and actually shaken up I couldn't eat my food do can't comment on that but surely that's not good customer service!

We have been here a few times and the first time the quality was ok, and the quantity was good value for the money. We then returned a second time, buying curry sauce 2 large chips 4 sausages and a burger. The 3 of us that ate the sausages spent the night on the toilet, with bad stomachs. The quality on the second time was nowhere near as good as the first time either so definitely will not be returning

This was one of the first shops I went into when we moved down to the area, AND I will say I felt very welcome the service was second to none the girl even come and held the door open for me.the chips were crisp and the batter light some of the best I have tasted so to all you saying different maybe you went in on a bad day not all of us have good days all the time keep up the good work and your obviously doing it right as the queue was out the door!

This fish and chip shop has to be the worst i have ever visited. The staff are so rude. Especially one in particular who I'm not sure if it was a man or a woman but he/she was very rude indeed. As for the food absolutely foul. After reading the rest of the reviews I realise I am not the only one that feels this way. But how is this place still going with such poor quality and service. I do not recommend this place to anyone nor would I visit again. Maybe if the staff were friendlier that would help but the quality of food needs sorting.

I have used Babers quite a few times now living within half a mile of this chip shop it is convenient and centrally located amongst a densely populated area.Whilst I can't say that the food is the best I have tasted, the fish and chips are distinctly average and the burgers etc that are also offered are the same level, if not worse quality than the fish and chips.Average may sound a bit negative but nowadays there is so much competition and sometimes if you are in a need for a quick dinner or fancy fish and chips going to somewhere local and convenient rather than travelling further to somewhere with better quality product, is worthwhile.You normally have to wait for them to cook your order which can be frustrating if you are in a rush, but I find this better, as you know it is fresh and hot rather than having been sat around for ages It is not like you normally have to wait long either. There is a TV in there that helps pass the time too!The portions are usually of a good size as well. I have never felt hungry after a regular cod and chips,if anything I verge on the 'stuffed' when finished. As I mentioned the quality is average. Sometimes I have had very good food and other times not so good. maybe the age of the oil in the fryers?!Others suggest that the staff are rude. I wouldn't go that far. Ok they could be a bit more friendly but at the end of the day they do what is expected of them...prepare and serve you the food.Overall, I am happy and will continue to visit.

They give plenty of chips, lovely home made fish cakes. And a great variety to choose from. Although sometimes a long wait due to the popularity and not really anywhere to park. The young girls that serve seem to do nothing but throw evils at you which can be quite off putting and they don't seem to say please or thank you, but I suppose that's customer service in 2012!

this place is very local to me but its pot luck wether you get the right quality and level of service - frankly,if you dont like customers and your style is 'rude' ,go and peel potatos in the back room - its a frequent critisism and a valid one. the food can be very good but seems to be on a decline - soggy chips dont help but portions are enormous,I am sure a lot is wasted a little advice to the owners,cut down your chip portion size so you can serve more people from the same batch and cook the chips a little longer and put someone up front who wants to be there - it will increase your profits and popularity

In a residential area of Bournemouth, Babers is a popular chip shop among locals. The premises are clean and bright, the portions plentiful (in the extreme) and good value for money. The only thing to let this place down, so often in the UK, is the standard of customer service. The staff are at best, unenthusiastic; at worst, rude and unwelcoming. If you're ordering chips for two people with average appetite, just go for one portion as more will be wasted.
