Today we came to Toby Carvery at Cooper Dean, it was 4 of us, my 2 daughters and my eldest bf wasnt super hungry they they only wanted a kids carvery, while i had adults and Refills for the drinks. When we went up to the Carver (Jake) and said standard or large plate, My eldest and her bf said just 2 x kids vegetarian plates and 1 adult standard which the Carver looked in disgrace at us and the. He then proceeded to go out back and brought back 2 x plastic baby plates for them to which i believed he was trying to embarrass them. then when my other daughter said kids plate he reached under the counter and gave her a china smaller plate ???? 🤔. He was also touting customers to take a piece of paper with a google qr code on it and telling customers to leave a positive review with his name attached 😡! The meat portions i received were very poor and and only had 1 slice of both dried up beef and gammon! i mentioned it to hima and he got salty that i said about it. we then sat down and my Daughters bf came across a hair straight away and asked to see someone , the manager came over and she was more shocked that the carver gave them plastic plates instead of apologising for the hair or the plastic baby plates. This place has gone down hill and with tasteless food and poor staff

We went there today 18/3/18 for a family birthday Food was cold we got served up fatty beef the cauliflower was under cooked very disappointed with the food the carver looked like he didn’t want to even be there. As for getting a drink from the bar one bar man on had to wait a long time for our drinks

Visited today! Will not return!!! Was given a dirty plate at the carvery deck, then the chef tried to give me horrid dried up off cuts of meat when there was a full joint on the deck. I questioned it which obviously annoyed him. He then snapped at me for using the wrong tongs although the set I picked up was too hot to hold!! No need to be spoken to like that at a carvery deck absolutely no customer service just a bad attitude. When the waitress checked us back I made her aware of what had happened and she assured me a manager would come over…… no one came! Will never use the place again rude staff with no customer care.

Chef wanted to give me the leftover beef fat, I have asked for fresh beef and they refused to give it to me and gave me the dry one that's been out for hours. Potatoes been very dry and no taste. Not good experience but good waitresses try to help me.

It looks really good after the recent refurb. The food was as excellent as it was before, and it was nice and quiet with no queues. (Tuesday lunch time.)

The last Toby Carvery I will ever have. Arrived without booking told bluntly that we would have to wait an hour or could eat outside, yet I counted 15 tables which we're free, but was told they had been all booked, decided to have carvery and sit outside, I wish I never bothered beef and ham was tough and tasteless , roast potatoes were undercooked hard and not proper roasted all pretty rubbish, gravy was like water, considering how Tobys used to be , it's just an expensive rip off place , when finished so called meal, popped back in and there was still loads of free tables from before, think you need to have a word with manager and staff .

The roast potatoes were dried out and inedible all the veg looked like it had been out for some time the portions of meat were very small and when we complained about it we were told “we haven’t been busy” so we won’t be having a Toby on a Saturday afternoon again it was more expensive than a week day and that you don’t mind if you get what you pay for we certainly didn’t If this had been our first visit to a Toby it would have been our last

Visited for lunch today with the family, had not booked but ladies on door fitted us in with no issues. Waitress was quick to take order for drinks, carvery chef was very chatty and great with the kids. Food was nice and plentiful, our waitress was lovely and made sure we were ok, without being too in your face. Would definitely recommend, but probably book as it got busy very quickly not long after arriving, glad we went when we did. Thank you to all the staff

We visited on a weekday at 8 pm & it was very quiet. We got seated straight away. Lots of seating available. Clean toilets. No queue for food. My husband & I had the Carvery & it was delicious. The roast potatoes were spectacular 😋 This restaurant has a large car park & is within walking distance of Bournemouth hospital. The staff were very helpful and polite. We will visit again.

Terrible ! For somewhere that trades on being home of the roast - what a disappointment! Toast potatoes that were so undercooked they were blonde and covered in oil ! Veg looked like a tsunami had hit it and place was dirty ! Staff lovely but felt rushed off their feet ! Overall a really poor meal half of which couldn’t be eaten ! What a waste of food and an evening out !

This place is a bargain especially if you are very hungry. The food is a good standard seeing as it's an all you can eat affair. Not busy at all midweek not sure on weekends. Give it a go.👍

Been decorated, new entrance, same good food. You know exactly what you get with a Toby Carvery. If you don't want a cavery - don't visit. It's good value and for a quick meal, perfect.

The food server went above and beyond with my autistic child who is a restricted eater. She only has a Yorkshire pudding with mac and cheese when we visit but there was no mac and cheese available. He got the kitchen to make her some cheesy garlic bread to go with her Yorkshire pudding which she was very happy with and thoroughly enjoyed and then to our amazement towards the end of our meal, a small bowl of freshly made mac and cheese arrived at our table. Thank you for making what could have been a disastrous visit into a pleasant one, from a very happy mum

I had an absolutely dreadful experience at Toby Carvery, Cooper Dean today. Being a bank holiday, the price was hiked to £14.99, which I wouldn’t have minded if the service had been even remotely acceptable. Unfortunately, it was far from pleasant .When I arrived at the carvery station, I noticed the lamb was completely out. I politely pointed this out to the carvery server, expecting a courteous response and prompt replenishment. Instead, I was met with shockingly rude behavior. The carvery server arrogantly waved the lamb bone in my face, as if to mock my request. His condescending attitude was not only unprofessional but downright insulting.Reluctantly, I helped myself to the other meats and turkey, hoping that the lamb would be brought out soon. When I noticed the carvery being restocked, I approached a different carvery server to explain that I hadn’t received any lamb earlier. What followed was even more frustrating—the second carvery server rudely informed me that because I had already taken the other meats and turkey, I couldn’t have any lamb. His dismissive tone made it clear that he had no interest in resolving the situation.I then approached a waitress, hoping for a more reasonable response. To my disbelief, she was equally unhelpful. She coldly suggested that if I still wanted the lamb, I would have to pay an additional £1.80 for a king-size plate. This was completely absurd—I had already paid for the lamb as part of my meal, and now I was being asked to pay extra for something that should have been provided in the first place.The entire experience left me feeling cheated and disrespected. To charge £14.99 for a meal and then deliver such appalling service is unacceptable. The staff's arrogant, dismissive, and downright rude behavior was infuriating, and it’s clear that customer service is not a priority at this location. I strongly urge anyone considering a visit to Toby Carvery, Cooper Dean, to think twice. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values its customers and delivers the service you're paying for. This place is a complete waste of time and money—avoid it at all costs.

Lovely Carvery. Only had a few desserts on waited 20 mins to pay.

Booked here very last minute as our local pub was fully booked. We were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and the service, especially our server Tom who was polite, diligent and attentive despite being rushed off his feet. Based on this visit, we would come again

We were greeted with a warm welcome and were shown to our table very quickly. Our waiter for the day was Tom, he was very polite and friendly. Made us feel very relaxed and couldn't do enough for us. The food was absolutely delicious, will definitely be going back there again.

Good food and friendly staff as always in this branch. We were particularly impressed with Jake on the meat station today who immediately removed roast potatoes when he realised they were contaminated with tongs that had touched a meat product, he had amazing customer service skills, kept everyone smiling and made sure they were replaced quickly.

I found myself in a difficult position. I have been dining at this venue since Sunday evening. All I can say is that the team has been amazing. The team has been going above and beyond to make my visits perfect. The warm welcome, the chefs helping me so much just by cutting up my meat. The service crew is so friendly and helpful. Helping me put on gravy and sauces. Nothing was a hassle. I didn't feel a nuisance with my needs. All the staff and patrons were so friendly. I highly recommend this venue. It is assessible by everyone Thank you so much. xx

really lovely place, was a bit busy when i went but a really caring staff.

Staff was so friendly and nice. Accommodated us with a larger table because our party size changed at the last minute. They were also very patient with the kids and made them laugh on the food queue. Food was lovely as well.

My family went in tonight and were really impressed after the refurb. Much better now it's air conditioned. Our server was a young man, very helpful and polite. Made sure we had everything we needed and were happy. Great service. The food was nice although the cutlery was dirty. Other than that it was lovely.

poor limited amount off meat very thin slices given. A regular visit to Harlow and Denham where the slices are great. Here it was the thinest slice miserable server. Table next to us had thick slices off meat compare to uss discrimation continues.However the waitress was really nice.

Popped in for a collection carvery after visiting family. Tom, was the host on the door and was happy to help and point me in the right direction. Jarrod/jarryd serving the meat was very patient with me as I was flapping about working out what to do (usually eat in rather than take-away) Good team working and was greeted with smiles despite being near the end of the night

THE REFURB HAS REFRESHED THIS TOBY AND MADE IT AN ABSOLUTE DELIGHT TO EAT IN. Out of all of the Toby carvery you can go to this is the best one for staff and service. The staff are always professional and polite and treat you with respect. The chefs work very hard to supply decent well cooked food to a good standard and the waiting staff and managers are all approachable and professional. I would recommend this Toby highly and it's important to support people who work in hospitality in this day and age.

Worst Toby we have ever been to and we've been to a fair few. Staff not very friendly. Halve the meat and veg was undercooked. It was just like there was no sole in the food or place. The guy who carved the meat was particularly rude . Not a very good experience at all.

i had the lovely maisie serve me today and wow was she incredible, 10/10 service deffo recommend and come back again!

The roast potatoes were black round the edges, soft and mushy and tasted old. The Yorkshire puddings were dry ,crispy and disintegrated to dusk when cut ( too long baking under the heaters). The vegetables were dried up and wrinkly or mush. The gravey was cold , the beef fatty and the pork was dry. The whole experience was worse than my 1970's school dinners.

We had a lovely time as a family of two adults and two toddlers, at Toby Carvery Cooper Dean today. Our server was Heather, who was lovely and smiley and was really helpful to us and friendly to our little children. She was happy to help answer our questions and got us what we needed in a timely manner. Thank you Heather! The other staff were lovely too. I thoroughly enjoyed my food, the beef was especially delicious. My husband liked his food too although noted that the pork was a little bit dry. The kids ate for £1 each as part of a special offer so that was amazing and kind to our bank balance. Thank you Toby Carvery Cooper Dean for a lovely experience!

we got home a bit late. so decided to pop in to get something to eat quickly. We got table and finished eating less than an hour. Roast it was very good for £11. Can of Coke more expensive than half pint.

Met a friend for breakfast here this morning. We are both local but haven't been in this carvery since the refurbishment. It looks and feels great, much brighter than before. I arrived first and was greeted by a lovely lady behind the bar who chatted as I paid. Really friendly and bubbly. Sat down and had some of my drink whilst waiting and had to go up to the bar again for another drink. Another lovely friendly lady served me, apologising that the card machine kept playing up. The food was good. Few things slightly over done and sauces running low, but overall, a really lovely, affordable and relaxed time was had by us both. It was also a lot quieter than expected considering there is a hotel attached and it's the summer holidays! We will be back soon. Thank you.

Welcoming and happy staff, seated us quickly and took our order. The food at the carvery was well presented, hot and varied. We had 3 adult & 1 child meals. The restaurant was clean and tables were cleared quickly. The toilet facilities were clean and well maintained

Front of house greeting was good, waitress at our table was appalling (Wendy) - blunt bordering on rude. Treated us as if we were an inconvenience to her day. She didn't seem to like the fact that we didn't all want straight forward carvery. Roast potatoes were burnt, yorkshires small and soft, really greasy sliced potatoes, no veg/vegan gravy on offer. No vegan puddings available, suggested one of us just had vegan custard!! She never smiled, never asked if the food was ok, took 15-20 mins to clear plates away. Any questions we asked about the menu/food etc were met with her pulling a face and giving a blunt reply. When one of us asked for another glass of water, she replied, get it yourself from the machine. Overall food was poor quality and the service even worse. Won't be returning.

Potatoes were so well done that they were almost burnt. The sliced potatoes were sitting in a puddle of oil. The Yorkshire puddings were soft, not crispy. The waitress Wendy was consistently rude throughout. We were a table of 8 and none of us will be returning
