A group of 8 friends and a one year old came for our annual Christmas dinner here. Usually one of us cooks but we decided to go out this year. We made the right choice. From the moment we walked in we were met with a friendly greeting and shown to a beautiful table in a stunning room. There was tasteful music and decorations, and Christmas crackers and we were immediately given a welcome drink. We had already pre-ordered from a very well constructed and good value Christmas menu. One of the party was vegan and she was very well catered for with ease in all aspects of her dinner. The food was excellent. Served at the perfect pace. The lady and her staff were all top class. The lady herself went above and beyond for us and was truly outstanding. The fact that they really care about their business really shows. None of us could fault it and all had such a lovely special afternoon and excellent Christmas dinner. Would return and highly recommend in a heartbeat.

Attended a birthday lunch my first impression was how really friendly the staff were. Food well it was a choice of several meals over 3 courses. The food was great across all courses. Starters excellent soup and mozzarella with tomatoes. Mains also really good, chicken salmon and vegetable Wellington. Deserts excellent, crumble lemon cheese cake or ice cream. Food has choices for vegetarians and gluten intolerant. Would recommend this friendly venue to anyone planning a party.

We enjoyed a freshly cooked meal, excellent service and reasonably priced. Vegetarians catered for. Nice dinning room and the tables are well spaced out, not on top of each other.

We expected ''fine dining'' as advertised. The dining room was small with nice tablecloths and cutlery but so quiet that we could hear others' conversations. My prawn cocktail was very basic. A few lettuce leaves shredded in the base of a glass dish with tiny pieces of cucumber and more sauce than shrimps. The salmon main course was very, very nice. But the Eton Mess was actually a mess. The home-made meringue was actually large lumps of solid sugar. We didn't stay overnight so cannot comment on the accommodation.

Yet another wonderful afternoon tea enjoyed with friends at this delightful friendly hotel. This is the third time we have visited & are already planning a return visit. The venue is lovely & the afternoon tea that is served is always delicious & homemade. The lovely staff make you feel very welcome & allow you to enjoy your tea without rushing you & replenish you with tea or coffee as often as you want.

Fantastic food prepared freshly using local ingredients. Small restaurant with really high standards. Locally sourced Hereford beef steak is one to try along with the salmon and black garlic sauce.

We stayed as guests at the Aylestone Court Hotel and were kindly invited by the owners to enjoy dinner in their hotel restaurant. I only wish I could rate the food with more than 5 stars! Michael cooked up a beautiful three course vegetarian menu for myself and my boyfriend, served in the lovely setting of the hotel dining room. We had bread to start, and a salad of mozzarella and tomato. This was followed by a risotto with goats cheese, spinach and vine tomatoes and Eton mess for pudding. The food was extremely well cooked and very tasty, we are lucky enough to eat at restaurants fairly often and this is definitely one of the best meals we have had. The service was also perfect from Jo and Michael, attentive and friendly but also not over-attentive, they seem to have achieved just the right balance. I wish I could have this exact meal again it was so good! Would definitely recommend this hotel and restaurant, it is also conveniently located and has lots of parking. There is also a well stocked bar including carefully chosen local wines and spirits. The restaurant is also good value for money. Thanks for such an enjoyable evening, I hope we can come back again!

We booked a table for 4 and were warmly greeted by the owner and offered a seat in the comfortable bar to peruse the menu and have a drink. The 4 choirs 'English' white wine was very good, so give it a try.We all agreed the 3 course for £20 a head and we're not disappointed, although I was really looking forward to a larger portion of Eton mess than arrived. Overall there were no complaints from our party of 4, the food was very good. I would however suggest that the owners think about reviewing some of the net curtains, which I would suggest need replacing. The lighting in the dining room was very bright and would engender a more relaxed and possibly romantic atmosphere if toned down.Keep up the good work

We booked in for Saturday dinner and had told the owners in advance that we were all vegetarian. We were met by the owners on arrival and had an aperitif in the lounge whilst perusing the menu. We were delighted to see that the owners had created an all vegetarian menu for us (normally of the three options, only one is veggie). The food was excellent and the service efficient, all in a delightful relaxed ambience. We really appreciate the effort made to accommodate us and nice extra touches such as a small piece of lemon drizzle cake with coffee at the end (it was my birthday).

Just got home after a truly wonderful afternoon with friends enjoying an incredible afternoon tea at this establishment. Surpassed my expectations, made to feel very welcome, had a room all to ourselves & the food that was served up was fantastic - sandwiches of every description, warm cheese scones, great selection of homemade cakes & the best lemon drizzle cake any of us had ever tasted. A wonderful post Christmas afternoon. Definitely recommend & revisit

Aylestone Court Hotel has recently been taken on by Jo and Mike, and they are like a breath a fresh air, breathing new life into this magnificent building. Jo is the perfect host and Mike is in the kitchen producing wonderful food which is great value for money. We had a glass of prosecco and tasty nibbles in the bar area, then into the dining room for Salmon mousse with Melba toast, and Baked mushrooms in three-cheese sauce for starters, followed by Pan fried cod with samphire, asparagus and sweet black garlic sauce, and Bacon wrapped chicken with goat’s cheese served with seasonal vegetables, then for dessert, Hot chocolate fondant pot, and Passion fruit cheesecake. To round it off we had coffee and petit fours. All this for only £24.95 per head. We also had a bottle of wine which was reasonable priced at £14.95. To top it all off, on leaving, Jo gave us a glass heart which she had made herself, which now hangs in my kitchen catching the light beautifully. Good Luck to them.

We were staying on the Malvern View Country and Leisure Park for a weekend stay which we could not fault. However, we dined at The Old Barnhouse on the Saturday evening and unfortunately the food was terrible. We waited for nearly an hour and when the food arrived it was half cold. My mother and father had scampi and chips, no peas and they were out of tartare sauce! My sister and I had the New Yorker chicken which consisted of a huge portion of coleslaw that wasn’t very nice and the chicken was small and if poor quality. My daughter had a kids pizza, chips and beans which was just about acceptable. The five meals and a round of drinks came to over £80 which was appalling for the quality of the food. Avoid The Old Barnhouse for food! Pleasant enough for a drink.

Rude, extremely disappointing, shocking and disrespectful staff! We arrived after making a booking the day before. I booked 2 Adults, 1 child aged 2. The booking itself was pleasant. We got slightly lost, rang in and again very pleasant. Arrived 7 minutes late and walked into a very ‘local’ pub feel. All eyes on us. We were told by the bar person that they were glad we found them. A woman appeared and looked at my Grandson and commented ‘we don’t have highchairs’ I commented that I’d booked ahead with a child on the booking? She said she would go down in the cellar and dust something suitable to bring up then asked me if I had a chair in my car???!!!! We approached the bar and I said I was confused as I’d booked a child ahead of coming. I was ignored, I said once again and the younger woman behind the bar looked at me and in a slightly raised voice utttered ‘well, yes she’s gone to get you something hasn’t she!!’ Based on this experience I told my Friend we were leaving as being treated like this was way beyond acceptable. I wasn’t happy and I let it be known! My Friend and I were left shocked and felt we had been treated appallingly by 2 extremely rude women. Whilst we were putting my Grandson in the car the older women came out and further patronised us with her offering of a dusted off cellar chair and we told her that her colleague was vile and it had gone beyond the chair. She walked off. Having read through the reviews I can see hands have changed and so this may be why I didn’t receive the reputation I had heard of. I have the feeling they felt they were above us! I’m not easily impressed so their Morgan cars and gold large Baroque chairs only further deepens my suspicions that they think they’re better 🤣🤣
