Aydo Restaurant in Brighton and Hove

My daughter and I had a delicious lunch here. The food was really good and authentic, and the service was excellent. Very nice setting.

Tried for the first time, decor is very inviting but was a bit of an anti climax from there.. ordered a starter that never arrived (but they still charged for) mains took quite some time to be served and even then one of them was wrong. Half way through mains some random dips were placed on the table which I assume was supposed to be served with flatbreads when we ordered our drinks but that never arrived either. Ordered more drinks that again never arrived and we had to chase. Waited 10 mins to order desserts - which were steep at £12 each! Ordered a baileys which was less than a small measure and too much ice.. and the bill was ££££. I have to say the food was exceptional but that was about it. I could just about excuse poor service if the place was rammed but we were one of about 5 tables! Probably won’t return

Very disappointing, we went there for lunch, staff not that friendly, and the food was basic and presentation of the food not very inspiring. I didn't want rice with my shish kebab, and only due to the restaurant being quiet they were prepared to do me some chips, which were not that hot or nice, otherwise you had to have rice or bulgur. Starter of halloumi consisted of 2 tiny pieces, a couple of mouthfuls at the most, In most turkish restaurants they give you complimentary hummus and pitta bread, not this one. Definitely will not be going back.

Best meal we've had in ages, and the Long Island iced teas were perfect . Staff are very friendly and attentive. Very clean and great atmosphere

This place has potential to do well however the service is letting them down, the staff were polite but not as well attentive. we were given our mains first, had to wait further for starters. Each time we would have to look out for a waiter to approach, they would forget and need to be reminded again for something we have asked for. No free bread was given especially seeing as their prices are quite high compared to other Turkish restaurants in brighton. Food was nice/standard. Great music.

I celebrated my birthday at AYDO along with 10 friends. The atmosphere was perfect.Live music , stunning decor with plenty of photo opportunities. The food and cocktails were amazing and all of the staff were very accommodating.They brought out my cake with such joy and it was just the best VIBE.I can’t wait to go back and spend Valentine’s Day here with my partner ❤️

We booked for a large party and had the best time, the staff members were all welcoming and hosted amazingly. the cocktails and food were delicious and the wait was very short. the atmosphere was great all night. Will definitely come here again.

We had a chance to enjoy ourselves at Aydo Lounge and Grill when we stopped by Brighton to visit our friends. It was a pleasant experience. Good selection of wines as well as steaks. Our server Mehmet was really attentive and made our night so much better. Will defo be back.

Was placed into the cold conservatory even though there was plenty of space inside. Food was not cooked properly and cold. For the price absolutely not worth it. Waited an hour for the main meal. Complete chaos. Not returning and would advise avoiding, unless you like slow service and cold food…..looks like the two reviews before me had a similar experience. Maybe they’ll offer a refund instead of offering excuses.

This is the second time I’ve been here and it was just as disappointing. We had booked for a birthday dinner for five and open arrival we were seated in the conservatory where we froze for the rest of the night. We saw many available tables indoors so requested to be moved in and where told it was too full. It then took an hour for our food to come. The food itself was bland and poor quality. The steak we had ordered was completely raw and cold. The prices were so high and aren’t justified by the quality of food.

Ordered chicken shish and the salmon dish. Took 55 minutes to arrive. Unsure why it takes 55 minutes to cook a filet and some bits of chicken. Salmon dish was lukewarm and the fish flavourless. The chicken was chewy and not cooked through. Came with plain rice which was unseasoned and cold. Had to chase the food before it finally arrived. Terrible experience so won’t be returning. Shouldn’t be hard to serve basic food.

It’s my 4th being here and every time it’s been great. Great service, really quick delivery with the food. Great variety of dishes. Even the side of rice that most dishes have is very tasty. Good atmosphere/music and friendly and helpful staff. Overall every experience has been good and i’d really recommend. They also do nice cocktails.

What a find. Now my favourite restaurant at the Marina. Lovely welcoming staff, serving delicious food, in fabulous surroundings and very reasonably priced.

I was taken here for my birthday and will definitely be returning. The food was amazing so much choice, very tasty and exquisitely presented. The drink menu was vast and I enjoyed my limoncello spritz. The decor is stunning. The service was attentive but not rushed and all staff were very friendly. I cannot wait to return.

We went to Aygo this evening and I have to say everything was spot on. So often lately I have been out to a restaurant and I have been left feeling less than satisfied with the food. The food tonight was top quality ... from the king prawns to the salmon to the sea bass to the beef moussaka we all left clean empty plates. I would highly recommend!

Pour un repas de Noêl avec une vitrine pourtant attractive de l'exterieur, incroyablement décus, mon mari et moi étions venus de Paris se faire plaisir et bien pour 130 livres on a eu un repas digne d' un kebab ordinaire. Pas de sauces sur le poisson sec et trop cuit, le pain était réchauffé et il n' était pas du jours, quand aux baklavas durs et industriels pas à la hauteur du décor. Pour finir, baclés par les serveurs qui ont fait le minimum de service. En bref, très mauvaise experience, juste un attrape touristes bien décoré.

Popped down to Brighton marina this afternoon for lunch with my other half. He is very adventurous with food, where as I'm not. So when he wanted to eat here I wasn't keen. But from outside it looked like a beautiful place so I sucked it up and went in. And I am so so glad I went out of my comfort zone with food. I wish I could give more than 5 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 I love seafood so went for the scallops for my starter. Not only were they the best I've tasted but presented beautifully 👌 I had the seafood casserole with rice and salad for my main, and again, it tasted out of this world. My baileys hot chocolate.... spot on!!! The staff were lovely. Well presented and very polite with happy faces. Something I hate in restaurants is when staff bug you all the time asking if everything is OK, but here we didn't get that, we were left to eat in peace but they were there when we needed something. The decor is beautiful, very inviting and calming. I was expecting our bill to be double what it was. We got alot for our money. I literally couldn't say anything bad about this amazing place. And I usually always find something to moan about 🤣

We booked a table at Aydo's for my mum's birthday meal. We booked for a Saturday evening. The staff were amazing, they were always attentive, but never smothering, which is really nice when you are out and want to enjoy the company of others that you are with, the service was great! The food!!!! Wow, where do I start, AMAZING. The care that is taken when plating up the food is impeccable especially on a very busy Saturday night, the standard did not drop once. My aunt is a huge seafood eater and she complimented on how beautiful the scallops and the Octopus were, the best she has had when eating out. I had the lamb shank, it's was beautiful, full of so many different fresh flavours! All dishes tasted just as amazing as they looked. The drinks, again, Perfect. The time and detail that is put into every drink, alcoholic and non alcoholic is pure class. Overall we had an amazing night, everything was delicious, we all had full stomachs at the end of the evening as the portion sizes are just right, we were not rushed out of the door as soon as we had finished our dinner which meant that we could enjoy the beautiful live singer, who was also just as incredible. I can't fault this restaurant one bit. I will be returning and hopefully with a larger party, so that they can experience a lovely evening just as we did. Thank you to all of the staff at Aydo Lounge and Grill for such an amazing night.

Met friends and had a lovely pre-Xmas dinner. Service was excellent even though they were busy, drinks were ordered and came quickly, meals arrived without much of a delay between courses. We all had lovely meals

Came here to celebrate my sisters birthday and decided to go here because it looked pretty and modern . Super happy we came here , the food was so delicious and fast , our server Dogukan was so friendly and made our experience even better !! The staff made it super special for my sisters birthday and had balloons up and sang ! Will definitely recommend this for anyone wanting to have good food and atmosphere there was even live music . We had a lovely time. Thank you team !:)

I went there yesterday, I got the lamb Shish, it was a bit more pink than I liked, absolutely flavourless, and now I have food poisoning from the lamb, and yes I 100% know it’s from this place, if you want Turkish food go to ETCI, best food in brighton and it’s also slightly cheaper, only good thing about this place is the espresso martinis. Also the “hand cut” chips that’s £5 for a small portion are very clearly frozen chips. Absolute rip off, definitely not worth having food poisoning over, will never return again and I wouldn’t advise anyone to eat here either.

27th September….An update on my original review below… my husband & I, along with eldest son who’d come to visit, came to the Aydo Lounge & Grill on Sunday afternoon for drinks & snacks. We were not disappointed! We sat in the enclosed terrace area after being warmly greeted by the restaurant manager. Had delicious & beautifully presented cocktails & a whiskey, plus some delicious starters & dips. Plus an extra basket of bread. Great quality, great service & not overpriced for what we had…. Definitely recommend it!! Original review…We went on first day of opening in the evening. The place is beautiful, love the decor, beautifully decorated! Friendly staff. They just need to get their service up to speed, we had to wait an hour for each course. My husband’s dishes were very small for the price, which he was upset about….Also, its quite pricey! But if they get the portion size right, adjust prices accordingly & make sure service is improved, its going to be a fantastic addition to the marina!

Wow wow wow … this place is beautiful , the food is amazing , the atmosphere and ambiance is perfect … The staff are super friendly and very welcoming …. I had a beautiful meal and will definitely be going back soon .. If you’re ever in Brighton marina you must definitely go and eat there , you won’t be disappointed …

I went here today for the first time and I have to say, the atmosphere was beautiful! The details in the place were so well thought of and the ambience was very relaxing! The food was delicious, I really enjoyed the Turkish shish chicken kebab, tiger prawn and traditional turkish ottoman kebab. Ismail was very attentive and friendly, all the best with the new adventure!

Best Food and service since a long time.

We had a nice view from our table, and the place was beautifully decorated. I’ve been here twice now, but it seems there’s room for improvement in the service dep. It would be great if the staff could work on their body language and keep their voices down when talking to each other. The food, although it looked good, tasted pretty average. It didn’t have that special taste you’d hope for, and considering the prices, it’s a bit disappointing. I’ve tried Turkish food at another spot in Brighton, and it had more authentic flavors. I’m not sure if I’ll be back anytime soon.

Had the most fantastic service and meal, a real treat and the staff were attentive with being overbearing. Would highly recommend.

Bland food and no seasoning on quinoa avocado salad barely there was avocado. The rice and salad on chicken shish was tasteless. Sea bass was mid. One piece of bread was stale and hard to eat. Overpriced for what you get. Such a shame as it is lovely location and restaurant is nicely decorated inside and outside.

Sat at our table for 20 minutes and then had to ask for a menu! Asked for water with our Prosecco and never got it and had to ask again. Manager delivered a cocktail to our table and we drunk it and then he came over afterwards to say that it wasn’t meant for us! We thought it was a welcome present as we had never been there before! People came in after us and got served before us! Told another manager that we were not expecting to pay for things delivered to us by mistake! Must admit food was good but was let down by the service. Not sure if we would go back.

Not cheap. For the money you pay the food is not that tasty enough. It lacks the deep flavour. The service was good but there were only a very few people on this Wednesday evening. My son , with whom I went agreed with me. Not sure I will go there again. Look nice in the picture but the taste does not do justice.

This place is nothing like the hove Turkish restaurants they are superior to this restaurant The tastiest thing to eat was the chips that’s always a bad sign say eating in a expensive restaurant The prices are very high, if the food tastes amazing I would not mind one bit Therefore I would not recommend this place and I won’t be visiting again

4 stars based on overall experience. Firstly, the scenery was beautiful, overlooking the water and boats. The place was beautifully decorated, and food looked well presented. Cocktails were amazing alcohol and non alcohol 🍸 The atmosphere was okay, there wasn't any care when served the food, we could hear the frustration from staff especially from the bar, because it was busy and they were clearly understaffed. Food looked good but tasted average. The kids' pizza was okay. It's definitely not worth the prices but a place I've visited and won't be returning. I've never visited a Turkish that was so stingy with the bread 🍞 we were literally given 5 pieces in a basket for 8 people on our table. I do not recommend the seafood plates as the main, seeing as we were in Brighton. It was definitely a disappointing dish.

Great atmosphere, the starters arrived fast however the mains took over 45 minutes! The food was good

First time in this place tonight. Great setting, huge, lovely ambiance. Service was pretty slow but in fairness we weren’t in a hurry and they were very busy. Took two and half hours to get through the food due to the speed, so be prepared for a relaxed meal! Mixed grill was stunning as were the garlic prawns starter. Chips weren’t great but after a quick word with the manager we received a full refund and lots of apologies. Rice pudding was lovely and creamy and the baklava was the best we’ve ever had. Turns out it was made in house. We’ll return, even with the slow service as the food was great and the setting inside it out is lovely.

Got served by a guy with very hairy fingers touched our food, couldn’t eat it. Wouldn’t recommend it at all, asked for VAT receipt they said they don’t have it which is weird.

Went there with a group of friends, mid week, food was average. portions very small and not value for money . The whole experience was mediocre .

If they just get few things right it could be a really good restaurant , clean and very nice looking unfortunately the service is shocking

Everything was colossally overpriced for the quantity and quality served. The servers took a very long time to serve us. We asked for tap water, which did not arrive for a long time and there were only few people in the restaurant! The servers also didn’t have intense knowledge about the food, we are vegetarians and wanted to ask about why some of the desserts were marked as not vegetarian, the servers had no idea. We found this disappointing. Nevertheless the ambiance, presentation, and the location was good.

Staying on the waterfront and didn’t want to use the usual chains Peri Peri, Prezzo. Superb food. Pardon peppers and balloon bread - plenty for 2 and very tasty. Main course shish - loads of marinated meat and a choice of rice or bulgar. Couldn’t fault it. Sat looking at Pizza Express very very happy with my choice for £25 each incl drinks

Don’t bother if you’re gluten free. Was told at the door there’s nothing suitable. So we went elsewhere. Very disappointing that no consideration is given and they’d rather just turn you away.

An amazing meal at a fabulous location . Had lunch with friends and we ordered 3 different things from the menu . Each meal was lovely didn’t need staters as was given bread and dips. The food was amazing and service excellent all the staff were friendly and attentive, especially smiley ! The decor was very tasteful will defiantly be going back.

My new best place . Outside is dog friendly. Staff go the extra mile. Food is wonderful, good quality fresh tasty food . Highly recommend.

I feel bad about giving 3 stars; Aydo deserves more but I have to mark according to last night's experience. First, the good points: the service was friendly and prompt, the ambience was nice and the seats comfortable. To offset these points, trouble started early. My hard of hearing wife requested a quiet table but we were shown to an 'outside' table under the loudspeaker which soon began playing music at a volume which made conversation difficult. I was then cold (not the restaurant's fault but I was expecting an inside seat). We placed our orders and I asked for my pan-fried scallops to be served as a main course at the same time as the others had their main courses. All went well with their starters which were duly cleared and their main courses served - but not my scallops. They eventually arrived but were cold and undercooked. I ate them but explained the problem to the waiter when he asked if everything was ok. He replied that the kitchen probably rushed my forgotten order and undercooked them. I have not deducted any mark for the expensive prices because they are clearly shown on the menu and by ordering you are accepting the prices. It's a nice place and I would go back to give another chance. Places like this should be an asset to the Marina

Appalling. Rude surly manager. (I assume he was anyway). Expensive food which was the blandest I have ever tasted and an opinion echoed by the four other members of my party.

The restaurant is nicely decorated, the chairs and sofa are very comfy, it really looks amazing. The food we order was good. The lamb shank was a bit dry, and we had to wait a little to be served. It’s a new place it will surely improve with time. We were disappointed to not get a complimentary tea at the end of our meal as it’s a Turkish tradition, it’s always offered in Turkish restaurants, specially when we order expensive dishes. The service was great, very friendly staff. The restaurant has a nice view on the marina and can host a lot of people, the perfect spot for birthday or any celebration as the decoration is fabulous. I recommend the place for a nice dinner.

Nice food but quite expensive for what it is. The service really let the place down as we had the wrong food given to us at first and then had to ask for the rest of the order! Beautiful location, but would not go back.

We have just had a beautiful meal for my husbands birthday . I didn't know this restaurant excited until 2 days ago but I'm so glad I found it. Yes it is pricey but you get what you pay for and the food is superb, so tasty , cooked to perfection and exactly the right mount for anybody . I hope this place lasts as its a welcome addition to the marina and nice to have something other than the usual . Give it a go.

We had dinner at Aydo Restaurant on 15 August 2023 and were very happy with the quality and quantity of the food. The staff are friendly and professional. The restaurant is comfortable and has been well renovated. We will definitely go back.

This place was amazing, after a bad experience at Karen's and having to find somewhere else to eat at very short notice for 14 people for an 18th birthday We looked no further then next door where there was a beautiful Turkish restuarant Aydo. I asked for the Manager (Aydin) and explained what had happened!! Within five minutes they had seated us all.We ordered our drinks then food. It was amazing and all came out at the same time and it was very filling and nothing was too much to ask and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. They even gave the birthday girl a piece of biscoff cheesecake with a candle to celebrate in Turkish style. This is only the 2nd week of opening so it's only going to get better!! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone so if your looking for Turkish quality cuisine in a very stylish restaurant at a reasonable price, then AYDO is the place to be. They have an outside area when in the summer for lunch is the place to be seen. I spoke to the Manager and he told me they will be doing live music and maybe turkish dancing, amazing for large parties to celebrate x I will definitely be going back as there is so much on the menu to try and if its as good as my dinner I had last night they won't be getting rid of me!!! 14 very happy and well fed customers. 💕

This restaurant was absolutely amazing! The starters were delicious, the prawns were the best prawns we’ve tasted! Our mains were stunning, lots of flavour and so tasty. The puddings were amazing!! Most definitely the best cheesecake I have ever tasted! The location and restaurant itself is beautiful, we could sit in the conservatory for hours! The staff were so friendly, welcoming and were there to help with anything we needed! Drinks were delicious, I had a mocktail and it was so tasty! I would definitely recommend this place to anybody, our new favourite place for a dinner out!

Stumbled upon this new place. Great staff. They didn’t have a menu outside which is a must for the marina. A waiter saw and kindly passed one through the door. We were really surprised as it’s the best menu I’ve ever seen there. Fine Turkish fare in beautiful surroundings. Give them a go. Sure service was a little hit and miss at times but the food was really good!

Three of us and two little girls went there to tryout, first of all want to say congratulations on their new venture. We have had a sharing platter , a portion of lamb shish and a portion of chicken shish, the food was absolutely amazing, service was very welcoming , the atmosphere was very refreshing Highly recommended

We had a lovely family meal here. The staff and owner were so welcoming and great with the kids. Other reviews saying it’s pricey then go to bloody weatherspoons. Decent food in a lovely setting. We will be back 👍. Can’t wait to go back for cocktails with the girls!

What a beautiful restaurant! Impressive surroundings and a lovely, relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The food was delicious, a good selection of vege dishes (the bread that came with the starters was amazing, we all enjoyed it, including the kids) and the wine was good too! Plenty of space indoors and out to enjoy a drink or food. We loved the tiger that was lasered onto the tiles in the bathroom, absolutely stunning!

So when we came into Aydo and looked at the menu we were slightly unsure . We decided to give it a go and wow we absolutely loved it . The food was amazing the wine was perfect and I’m not a wine drinker and the Turkish pudding was lush. The service went up and beyond would highly recommend would come back again . Audo restaurant absolutely Beautiful! Atmosphere was so lovely! Me and all the family went last week. My partner had the mixed grill and I had the prawn dish they were cooked to perfection! We already booked to return…Can not wait! Also recommend the Prosecco!

Absolutely terrible meal. Massively over priced, dry food and extremely basic and lacking in flavour. Do not let the location and look of restaurant fool you.

**This is a brand new business, give it a little time to settle as there have been some staffing issues*** #bekind A beautifully designed new restaurant, with authentic styling and craftsmanship from Turkey. Parking is free for 4 hours at the Marina multi storey car park as well. The food was fresh, locally sourced fish and expertly cooked by experienced Turkish chefs which added that touch of authenticity. We shared balloon bread for starters and ended up ordering another two as it was so good. Halloumi Shish was chicken wrapped around the halloumi which I found so tasty! I liked the presentation of the food I saw being served and even the plates were sourced from Turkey which were beautiful. There are plenty of "Instagramable" areas to take pictures, including "The Queen of Brighton" wall which was stunning and also the hand carved white peacock art work behind the raised level booth seating. Overall this is a place for the family as well as adults, with an indoor out door theme with stunning views of Brighton Marina. Food was excellent and I will definitely be back. Toilets are nice and accessible for all.

Waited 3.5 hrs for dinner. It never came. Half of the starter was bought to the table. 6 of us went to eat. Had drinks and they tried to tell us our drinks came to £480. We left without eating.

Wonderful location. Food is delicious and fresh. Beautiful restaurant with outside seating and amazing views

My mum and I had dinner in Aydo tonight, it’s a beautiful restaurant with friendly staff and great food, a fabulous addition to Brighton Marina and I would recommend a visit. We will definitely be returning soon.
