Writing this on behalf of my wife and I: Avila catered for our wedding recently and i have to say they set a standard for catering companies. This was a Jamaican/ Nigerian wedding and we know how both cultures are particular about the taste of our food.. From the initial meeting, which was professional and Nikki being super attentive of the level of quality we were hoping for to the food tasting which was exceptional to consistent communication.. the process was seamless and Avila was the only vendor at our wedding that gave us no headaches. The feedbacks on the taste of the food from both sides of the family haven’t stopped pouring in and the taste of the lamb chops still lingers on my tongue. Absolute class, the waiting staff were super polite and had a smile on their face whilst making sure everyone comfortable. It’s a 100/10 for us and we couldn’t have asked for anything better.

I am from London on a training course in Goring. I googled and found my way to this restaurant. I was amazed and very happy to find it. The snails were delicious and my okra soup was just like my mother makes it very authentic and extremely tasty. The service was impeccable. I will definitely be visiting again as I am in the area for 2 weeks. Compliments to the chef and his service staff.

Ordered grilled fish with yam and plantain, tasted amazing! Food took some time to be made but we had some complimentary puff puff to make up for that. Fifi was patient and polite with service.

This has been a frequent joint of mine while I lived in Reading for about 2 years before relocating to the USA. On my first trip back I had to make sure to stop buy and grab some grilled fish and cold beer. Food came a little late but the host made up for it with complimentary puff-puff. It was worth the wait!

First time there but will definately go again. Wonderful hosts. Food was good and location is good with parking in the surrounding roads.

Avila foods has always come through for my household. Whether it’s for an event or just a quick catering for the family, she’s always been reliable even on short notice and has never disappointed. The service and packaging always seem to suit the purpose of the event and you can trust that the taste matches the presentation too. I have nothing but amazing experiences and she’s definitely made life totally hassle free. Thank you for all your years of outstanding service Avila!

The various dishes are tasty, affordable, delicious, tantalising and the services are unequalled and very courteous, the environment is very clean, accessible and accommodating.

Avila catered for the wedding reception for 200+ guests. The small chops (starters) are excellent. The meatpies are very good. All the foods that were served one the day - par excellent. The stewed chicken flavour is very unique. The waiters conduct 5*. The highlight is the packed food for the bridal party as takeaway. Excellent overall Keep it up. Highly recommended for any occasion Whenever I'm in Reading, I'll be visiting the restaurant.

Food was a bit dry but still delicious, and great value for money.

Avila catered our wedding and honestly they did an AMAZING job! The food came out on time and was delicious! I even has guests text me later dreaming about the food and wishing they went for seconds. And there was more than enough for the guests and some to help us start our busy first few weeks post-wedding. Nikki and the Avila Team, where do I begin? I’ll start by thanking you on behalf of myself and my Husband, our family and friends. As our sole caterer for a Traditional Marriage reception, a Formal Wedding Breakfast and an Evening Buffet, you had a significant responsibility in contributing to our day being the success it was. You certainly did not disappoint. From my initial interaction some months ago where I was met with the utmost professionalism, warm and engaging manner to flexibility in approach, I already had the confidence in Avila as a brand. Our taster at the restaurant in Reading could not have been a more pleasurable experience. Our expectations of Nikki and the team despite being already high, were in fact at this point exceeded. From then on, working with Nikki was an absolute joy and delight and could not have been easier. Despite the array of culinary options we chose from canapes to European and African dishes, the food on the day itself was simply outstanding. Prepared and presented to the highest of exacting standards. From authentic and quality ingredients to generous portions, we could not have asked for more. In fact, our guests continue to complement the catering weeks on. I went to African store food Afriq in Peterborough and saw this. Decided to give it a try and I will give it 10 , the flavours , the aroma was amazing and I needed to drop a review. Well done

The food was very delicious and came out in a good time manner. The server was be Ve try knowledgeable on the menu. Will definitely return.

I really enjoyed the food i ordered and it was neatly packaged and delivered. I will be visiting the restaurant with my wife. Only reason am not giving it 5 stars is because the assorted meat in the buka stew were tiny and the peppered turkey wasnt peppery.

THE FOOD IS FANTASTIC!!!! I’m ready to die for the AFANG!! OMG IT’S AMAZING. So you can imagine my EXTREME shock being told they had run out yesterday😭😭. Anyway. Yes Afang and the peppersoups are super tasty! Great price points too. Plus u can order on ubereats 🎯. I love that the meats are well cooked and seasoned, so you’re not chewing for hours on end. Grab a Bitter Lemon while you’re at it.

The cat fish pepper I had was the best I ever had in the UK, I like to think I'm a very good cook so impressing me with food is quite difficult, I spent the entire day craving cat fish pepper soup but scared to order anywhere as I believed it will not be great, I had a runny nose and other flu symptom, long story cut short, if you ever had river catfish pepper soup in a native Delta/River state restaurant in Nigeria, you will know this right here is a replica. I rate it a 200/10.

An outstanding dining experience, the jollof rice is an absolute triumph! Highly recommend!

As a delivery partner I was appaled about how I was ignored by the front of house. The gentleman in the red shirt was more interested in talking to his friend at the bar and then a table than find out about my order (they have a sign to stand and wait) When another rider came in (different skin colour to me, I'm white) came in the gentleman instantly acknowledged him. Even when he came over to us, he tried to ignore me and speak to the other guy 1st. Unbelievable. Never had issues before so must just be that one guy

Placed a large order from Avilah for a baby shower. I ordered 2 weeks ahead and called the restaurant several times to enquire about the portion sizes & quantities before placing my order. Amaka was the perfect example of what good customer service looks like. She was always patient and answered my 101 questions without being dismissive. I was advised to collect the day before due to the starting time of my event, when I arrived at the agreed time I waited no more than 10 minutes for my food to come out which was great. I believe it was the restaurant owner who called me a few days after to check on my experience and ensure the quality of the food was good. Very impressed and will use these guys again for parties. Bonus points because their jollof is actually made to a plant based recipe. 👌🏾👌🏾

My order took 2hours to arrive. I ordered the Chef’s special mixed okro meal with Amala. The okro soup was bland and tasteless. The Amala was a ball of koko. It was very seedy and undone. I also got meat pie and puff puff but I haven’t eaten those yet. I hope they are good.

Gets a 10/10 for me - delicious food that can not be rivaled in taste and authenticity. Had me feeling like I was tasting good straight from a Nigerian bukka, but in the lovely ambience of Avilah restaurant. I will return again for sure. Simply Delicious

I have eaten their food at their newly opened restaurant and was made to feel extremely welcome. Photo of my suya attached. Then I attended an event where they did the catering and had bbq'd chicken with jollof and man was it incredible. I actually went home and tried to see if could order for delivery there and then as was so good. The owners and staff treat you like long lost friends. Can't wait to visit again.

Totally enjoyed my visit to Avilah on 5th August. The food was delicious, good value for money and the service was professional.

A new independent restaurant serving fusion food from the African continent. We visited with a 2 year old and they were really welcoming. I'm not a big connaisseur of Africans cuisine... But the food was full of flavour and very tasty. If you love some spices in your life and want to try something different... I would totally recommend to pay them a visit.

Avila catered for my son’s first birthday party back in April and the food was absolutely amazing - it received so many compliments! Nikki was very professional and patient. I altered my food options severally but Nikki didn’t make a fuss she just simply updated the invoice. Food was delivered to my venue in Slough for a reasonable fee. Quantity of food was really good for the price. Catering will always cost some money but if you’re looking for quality & good taste then Avila is the caterer to use. Brilliant Service. Amazing food.

My husband and I hadn’t been out for a few months as we have just had a baby. It was nice to find a restaurant that serves fantastic, scrumptious food with a beautiful set up. This is one of the best Nigerian restaurants I have been to. The food is 100/100. The service by Amaka was amazing, she was so on point, bringing food at the right time. Asking if the food was okay. I have no reasons to complain. I will definitely be going there again! I even had to take food home because of how Fantastic it was. I would recommend puff puff as a starter! It was just right, not too sugary, just right! I want more. I’m lucky I live about 40 mins away because I would have to get food there every evening! The presentation of the food I forgot to mention was impeccable! Nice and clean plates, nice and clean cups too. Everything was just on point!

Avilah catered for our Volunteer Thank You event in June 2023 for 130+. The food was excellent and well received by all our guests. Nikki and her team were great on the evening and helped to add to the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the event. Nikki was also incredibly helpful, patient and flexible in helping us put together a great menu for our budget at short(ish) notice. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Avila for any kind of event and I hope to have the chance to sample their fantastic food again soon Thanks

They were AMAZING! Catered at 200 guest birthday for me and were great to work with. So professional and friendly made the day even more enjoyable. I am still getting compliments and queries for the food today! I'd work with them again in a heartbeat.

Despite the fact that a lot of heater is there none is working or maybe they're afraid of gas or electricity bill because it's really cold inside

I booked Avilah to cater for a 50th birthday and the service was great. From the initial enquiry, to the day of the event the team were responsive and helpful throughout. The food was delicious and beautifully presented and we received many compliments from the guests saying the same thing. The team’s organisation and service on the day was very smooth and they provided a personal touch for the day. I would definitely recommend for them to cater for any event and would use their services again.

Delicious EGUSI with pounded yam, however, the portion was very disappointing. I got massive pounded yam with only 1 tiny piece of beef and two tiny pieces of cowfoot in the EGUSI for £10. No, madam. I need something to eat with the massive pounded yam.

The tango juice wasn’t added. And for that short trip delivery fee is way to high..

The food was good as always. I especially like the ogbono which is just delicious. My only complaint is that I ordered beef stew and they gave me chicken which was disappointing as I don't like chicken and was really looking forward to the beef. However the stew tasted nice as usual and the chicken actually was not bad. I have ordered from Avilah for years and this is the first time there was a mixup.

Avilah catered at the reception for my Aunty’s celebration of life and I have to say they are nothing short of Amazing. I had contacted Nikki late in the day and she was such a pleasure to speak to, her explanations were impeccable and she was very willing to help. Communication prior to the event was great from Nikki and she even got in contact with the venue to make sure things went smoothly. On the day, Niki was as lovely in person as over the phone and email, and her staff were friendly and very professional. The buffet service was simply magnificent and the food was (and still is) to die for. A constant stream of compliments continued to flow from all the guests in attendance on the quality, presentation and taste of the food. I would thoroughly recommend Avila Foods - any time - any day 👌🏾 Thanks Nikki!

Delivery driver spilt half of the food content out the container and left it on a chair and ran away

Each time I go there, the price changes for the exact same food I order everytime.. Its really frustrating because its really good food. Either the quantity changes or the price. They are not very attentive to orders as well and they forget to add an order to the food. They need to work on their services for real.

Food was cold, tasted stale almost as if it was cooked before. Not satisfied at all, literally tasted like rubber and it came with fish and no stew

Right from our first meeting with Avila foods about the prospect of catering at our wedding, we felt a real sense of excitement and knew we were onto a winner! Avila's wide and varied menu catered not only to our tastes but clearly worked magic with our guests as we remain inundated with positive comments about the quality of food and professionalism of the entire team. We were blown away by Avila's attention to detail and were blown away by the beautifully designed menu cards, outstanding décor and presentation - which were all made to match our vision for the day and demonstrated the extent to which Avila did go above and beyond to make our day a success. We found Avila's customer service to be exceptional… both on the day and in the lead up to the wedding. Even with the pandemic, we found Avila to be extremely flexible and accommodating. Nothing was too much to ask and the response was always positive… case in point, we requested additional staff to handle drinks a few weeks to the wedding and Avila made it happen with a snap of her fingers! Taking away a huge burden from us. Avila took time out of running a busy restaurant to have conversations with us, to ensure that the day was a success and frankly, this made us feel special. We can wholeheartedly say Avila was our top vendor!! Even after the wedding, Avila's impact and foresight kept ringing true. A key highlight of our honeymoon was the delivery of assorted food packs by Avila that turned out to be feasts fit for royalty. If we could do it again, it'll be Avila all the way. We've found our food plug!!

Very poor service, bad package and quality, I placed order for some foods, my delivery was incomplete and I did not get the remaining items as promised, I called to ask for my remaining stuffs but I was told they will get back to me. Very poor customer service I didn't get any call from them until I called for my refund, i still received incomplete refund after having to call myself, this is very bad and seems fraudulent, This is a very bad act and it won't grow your business. Kindly refund my full money ASAP.

Our wedding food was the best! Trust me! In 2018 Avila Foods cooked at my bestie's wedding. At the end of the night, I recalled how tasty the food was. I remember telling my friends that I would use Avila for my wedding too. Fast forward 3 years and 2months later in June 2021.... WE DID IT! Avila catered at my dream wedding. The food was even far better than I remembered it to be :)!! From the canapés to the mains and desserts all of it was superb Thank you so much for making it all things and more…we had our dream wedding with dream pallets thanks to you. My guests who I caught up with won’t stop singing your praises!!! Many recall the excellence in service, food taste and your teams’ A* professional service. The waiting staff were all polished and very polite and helpful. We are so honoured to have had you cook for our wedding. We truly got the best package deal which took away a lot of the stress that comes with dry hire weddings. Thank you for the incredible tips and ideas you gave us during the planning process. Thank you for answering our many phone calls, your patience is unmatched Niki (Head chef). I trusted Avila foods to deliver, and I wasn’t disappointed. I ordered fried rice with beef stew, the rice was not fresh , it had a funny smell, it tasted like it had gone bad, seems like it was cooked a day or 2 ago . i didnt eat the food. very disappointed ;(

Very delicious and well cooked food. The Okra had me crying can't believe I've been missing out on all this. One thing i would say the customer should be able to scale the amount of pepper used in the soup. Over all great job.

I order from Avilah quite regularly and I have no issues with the quality but I must say the quantity is quite inconsistent. When I order the soup (egusi, okro) with assorted meat, sometimes there is enough meat and sometimes there is barely anything. It's disappointing. Customer service is alright- I have spoken to them on the phone a couple of times and they were pleasant enough. They just need to be more consistent with their meat portions. Otherwise I have no issues with Avilah.

Food was delicious as always. The portions have gotten smaller though while the price has stayed the same.

I’m not satisfied with the food order. I have ordered extra plantains which I love to eat. Those plantains s were like rubber. The rice dish was lacking flavour it was just oily. I didn’t enjoy the food. It went to the bin and it’s a shamed I had my friend with me today to have dinner.

Spent £30 on food that never arrived. Shop staff rude and unhelpful. Refund was refused.

The plantains are only few and it would be nice to have at least 5/6 pieces with chilli sauce so can enjoy without a doubt.
