Costa Coffee in Reading

My favorite coffee shop. I love oat milk cappuccino, everytime same great taste. I love chai latte too. With extra syrup it taste like masala chai.

The best coffee and a good atmosphere, with plenty of parking available. Easy access; Costa is always the best.

A great coffee house located in a convenient retail park with free parking. The place is exceptionally clean and excellent service from very helpful barista too!

Tried to order 2 drinks (flavoured latte and flavoured frappe) and 2 cakes. The service was horrid. First of all he didn’t listen and went to give me the cakes in a takeaway when I had said eat in. Then while ordering a cake his coworker came over and interrupted starting to talk to him about something. Very rude. The latte was not stirred properly so in the glass we could still see the syrup at the bottom and on the frappe there was little to no syrup around the edge. All in all quite a negative experience from one of my fave coffee chains.

Empty shop and awful customer service. Ever rudest woman bartender that pressurise people in the choice of drinks without even providing a menu. The menu on the luminous board keep changing so fast that one does not have the time to read. All this in a shop with only two client waiting, I suggest management look into the attitude of their stuff.

Dirty tables inside and outside, rubbish on the floor. nobody greats you when you enter and the service is pathetic

Please produce a printed o static menu so that customers can see all products that you sell, and are not waiting for a screen which never appears and ends up delaying everyone else.

Top place good place to have a coffee and chill or even conference calling

Many thanks to the staff that found my wallet and kept it safe until I remembered where I had left it and returned. Great to know there are people out there that can be trusted. A credit to themselves and a great asset to the company.

Ben is the best in his job best customer service always happy to welcome each customer and make best coffee aswell

Great branch and you can bring used cups in for recycling. Air conditioning works quite well here, bring your jumper 😉

Decent enough costa with good service and pretty much standard menu for a costa, plenty of plug sockets and useable WiFi.

Lovely staff and friendly service. Good selection on food at a reasonable price.

The Costa Coffee ☕️ always have good coffee but, the cakes and sandwiches, most of them they have Palm oils and this oil are very bad to our human bodywork, plus cutting the Green Forest is a crime to humanity limiting the healthy future of the new generations.

There is nice atmosphere, kind staff and the coffee was good

Staff are great, I hadn’t been here for a year and the barista remembered my order, these little things matter.

Our boycott is over. The ridiculous van logo is I hopefully a lesson learnt. But, I always get good service from COSTA.

Like going here, Ben is always cheerful and likes to have a chat.

Great location overall. Great quality and standards representing by team working there - Ben, Olivia, Hristiana and others. You feel truly welcome there every time you visit that location. I saw many Costa locations. Every location is diferent. Every team working there is different. However, this team here in the Reading Gate is the class on its own.

Had a lovely Costa cappuccino, the servers were very polite and looked happy which is always nice to see,,people happy in their workplace.

Costa coffee shops are all pretty much the same. So why did I bother to write this? Well, because of one young man behind the till. What a service hero. He’s selling coffee & snacks. His service job isn’t lost on him. Engaging. Cheery. Welcoming. Conversational. His personal approach made a difference to my day. Well done Ben.

Went in shortly before closing. The two young ladies were lovely. Didn't feel rush at all.

Firstly pulled up to the drive thru window, we were asked to wait a moment. Approx 10 minutes later the lady says ‘oh are you waiting to order?’. Afordered, we were handed a ‘cappuccino’ (picture included), the woman at the window spilled abit and then said ‘oh I’ll pop it in another cup’, she put the cup in another cup, then handed it to me out the window, the cup was so full she proceeded to spill some on her hand. The poor woman’s hand instantly got burnt, she held it together but came back 5 minutes later crying with her hand swollen and burnt. She should have been in hospital not back to work. Then another lady asked us what we actually ordered. The order was all incorrect, except the boiling cappuccino. So had to go through it all again, then they realised they overcharged me and had to refund an item. All in all we were in the drive thru for 30 minutes. 10 minutes after leavening the ‘cappuccino’ was still way to hot to drink, as you can see from the photo, and was undrinkable and had to be thrown away. Honestly the worst customer service I have ever experienced and the poor lady with the burnt hand, I really hope she’s ok and gets a better job we’re she’s not treated like a victim of slave labour.

Wanted to try out the new Terry's chocolate orange hot chocolate and can't say I was disappointed. My first time ever using a Costa and the staff were very friendly and welcoming

Disappointed that the shop often understaffed and closed, with only a drive through option.

Coffee was fine but a 3 hr chat got me a parking ticket. The signs were not clear and the point is to stop people taking advantage of the free parking which I most certainly wasn’t doing.

Costa Coffee on Reading Gate Retail Park is a tidy example of this coffee shop. Seating inside and out it is well situated to serve shoppers on the retail park. Inside the shop the main food and drinks rack is directly in front as you enter with the counter to the right. There is a nice bar along the main front window. Most seating is towards the rear of the shop and due to limited natural lighting the shop has a darker relaxed atmosphere. The staff were cheerful and polite when serving. This shop can get quite busy depending on the time you are here.

Staff in general are an absolute pleasure to talk to but a special shout-out to store manager Chami and Ben who have both absolutely restored my faith & custom in Costa following terrible experiences at another nearby Costa store. Chami and Ben take the time to talk, get to know the customer & their preferences which is fantastic! A true asset to your business. More Chami’s & Ben’s in your stores please 🙏

So the working fella after the soda is was hot the bottle and I was asking him nice for a glass with some ice 🧊...Is was charging me 50pp for 3&4 cubes of ice ....So long costa is not for me anymore....Shame

At 17:23 today I witnessed the Asian manager speak dispicably to the staff here. Literally shouting at them and saying “go and get the brush NOW”. Her name begins with C. She is poison to your business, get rid

Quick, polite service from efficient staff. All clean and no food items out of stock. It was pleasantly cool on a sunny day. Plenty of parking if you turn right at the retail park's roundabout.

The manager is fantastic, laughed at my drink choice white hot chocolate soya with mint syrup shot. She made it perfectly. Great friends staff and when regularly going in there knew our orders. A great Costa coffee shop.

Went to B& Q and parked near to Costa..got a coffee and asked for a puppachino..Bandit loved it..so thanks guys!😉😋 BTW my Latte was fab x

Very handy for a pitstop (nice coffee & cake) after a tiring slog around B&Q (fence posts, etc) aisles. Ok loos too, but queuing at the counter might be a little too claustropic for the masked amongst us.

Nothing to complain about staff friendly clean and quick

No large cups to go, and waited around 4mins as only 1 barista serving until help arrived. Not a major catastrophe but cost that extra star.

This is nice place to take some break from shopping and have some hot drink and snack. Very good and friendly staff. Always ready to help. And take care of customers. A lot of space inside and outside of cafe. Two unisex toilets inside of cafe. One of it disabled. Big choice of cakes and fresh bakery. Cafe almost all the time full of people, but you always will be able to find a space for sitting.

I come here regularly on my way to work and am consistently pleased with how friendly the staff are (especially first thing in the morning!) Quick and reliable lattes are a great way to start the day, and Chami and her team always provide great service with a smile. Definitely my favourite Costa in the area!

Very helpful staff chilled atmosphere

If it's a quick break from shopping, this Costa Coffee is ideally placed. A few outdoor seats, by a busy roundabout, don't expect fresh air! Fairly busy inside but clean and tidy, and everything that Costa provides is good.

Poor service and slow. 10 mins to get a drink. Will not be doing that again. Mc Donald’s next time.

We visited on a Sunday morning to have a business meeting. The two guys working on 8.8.2021 were awesome. So friendly and so helpful. Making us feel welcome and giving great customer service. Convenient location with plenty of parking. What more could you ask?

Really clean and nice store, friendly staff. All round a lovely Costa to end a day out with friends.

The WORST Costa I have ever been to. Having had to repeat my order about 4 times because they couldn’t understand that I wanted 3 drinks. Specified each individual drink Only to have to repeat it again And even after all that, still missed one of my drinks. The woman making the coffee was miserable and seemed put out about being there. Customer service a complete 0 Honestly the worst experience in my life

Store is nice and clean and a good COVID safety setup. Click and Collect service is nice, quick and easy. Staff are friendly and most importantly the coffee is amazing!

Comfortable enough Costa to have a drink and a snack before hitting the shops. Staff were friendly, but I was charged £0.22 extra for a Winter Character roast that I didn't ask for...

Nice stop off break with hubby. Car park busy, well it is a Saturday after lock down 2. And with M4 closed, both ways, roads around Reading are horrendous. Glad there isn't a match on.

Such a shame they filled my Coffee too full was spilling everywhere the car ride home. Decent prices at the moment tho so not all bad. Tbh can't blame them fully when I dropped the coffee myself like the clumsy fella I am.

Very dirty. They did not clean any of the tables during the 2 hours I was there. Toilets were disgusting. Water all over the floor, dirty toilet paper everywhere, toilet not flushed. Even after I complained, 20 minutes later my friend went to the toilet, she found the place just as dirty as before, if not worse. Staff did not speak any English, they were rude to one of us who was trying to order tea as they simply could not understand a word of what was being said. I will not be returning.

I came to Costa coffee to enjoy a drink with my family when I was served the wrong sized drink and given it to take away when I wanted to sit in. I was then asked to move from my seat as I had a take away cup so they can clean and was told we will be closing at 5pm which was 40 mins away so I should just go. I am really upset with the service and the way I was treated. Not returning to this branch.

Very dirty trays not collected tables full of trays

I was given the wrong drink, I ordered a hot chocolate and was given a latte. When I went to let them know the drink was wrong it was snatched out of my hand with nothing further said. I was then given the wrong drink AGAIN! The staff are normally very friendly and helpful but today they were rude and acted like I was the issue when I said the drink was wrong. I wasn't rude and simply said the drink was not what I ordered. I wont be returning again.

They have a good speed here, customers orders were met at a faster than average pace. The quality of the drinks is significantly away from brand standards. cappuccino with the consistency of a latte. Need to increase quality control. all other factors were suitable.
