AtLANtis Fish & Chips in Carmarthenshire

I spent £11.00 in here for fish and chips and they were absolutely awful. The fish was cooked so much that it was hard to bite through the batter, which was mainly hollow - so not sure where the fish had gone. The chips were a combination of poor potatoes covered in eyes and some were green. Others looked like they had been though the fryer several times already, smelt and tasted greasy. Even my dogs wouldn't eat them. Truly dreadful.

I’m usually not a complainer but this was absolutely shocking. The chips were the most flavourless excuse for potato I’ve ever tasted in my life. The gravy was just gravy flavoured water. More than anything I’m just disappointed I’ve never had a bad chippy in my life !! I won’t be coming back !

Tried this takeaway as other restaurants closed. No fish on a Saturday night at a fish and chip shop is poor. Chilli and chips was ok, my pie was overcooked and tough. Portions large but chips average. Disappointing

These are the very best chips of any chippy that I have ever experienced. They are the only ones that are constantly better than my own homecooked

Not busy at 830pm so thought it should be OK. Met by rude staff who asked for our order. Replying just 2 large portions chips. You'll have to wait about 15mins. 20 later still not done. We watched the pizza place over the road serve 5 customers during our wait. According to locals its always the same. 'Never organised and slow'. Others mentioned that the so called chicken nuggets and Sausages are to be avoided. 3rd and last visit to this one. Better service and quality further on.

Had fish and chips, ate in. Nice size portion, tasty, and the service was lovely. Definitely recommend it when it's too windy to take to the beach.

Just had cod and chips take away. I have thought hard on this and I have come to the conclusion that it was the best cod and chips I have ever had. Literally faultless. Such crispy batter, even on the underside. And beautifully soft chips, and curry sauce with some body to it. Sadly I am a visitor to the area so am unlikely to be back. But maybe it is worth a four hour round trip…..

I'm really surprised by some of the bad reviews on here. We moved to Burry Port in October 2022 and have had fish and chips from Atlantis at least once a fortnight since then. It's been consistently brilliant. By far the best local chippy. We've never had a bad meal from there. Reasonably priced, tasty chips, phenomenal fish. Really good spicy curry sauce. It's all would hope for from a seaside fish and chip shop.

Well I thought I would give atlantis benefit of the doubt again but after last night I have to say I'm dissapointed fancied pie and chips for supper and what a joke chips outstandingpie on the other hand was not edible it had spent so much time in the heated display not only couldn't get a knife though it it had shrivelled in the case come on atlantis sort yourself out

Visited Burry Port today as a celebration of a friends birthday. Called into Portabello who told us about Atlantis Fish and chips shop. Wow they didn't disappoint. Absolutely amazing food and outstanding customer service from Sophie. Sophie was pleasant, polite and a wonderful employee. She is an asset to the business. Thank you Sophie for making us feel so so welcome. Highly recommended. Thanks again.

Visited Burry Port today and went to Portabello Inn for a few drinks. Decided to have food and went to Atlantis Fish and Chips. Was served by an absolutely wonderful bubbly, friendly, welcoming young lady. Her name is Celeste and she couldn't do enough to help us. Everything we asked of her she was only to pleased to help with. What an absolutely amazing employee. The owners of Atlantis should be extremely grateful to have such an amazing employee. She is an asset to any company with her polite and courteous manner. Thank you Celeste for your outstanding service. Looking forward to you serving us again. We were charged £13.60 for two cod bites and chips, the food was overcooked and tasted awful, we asked for salt and vinegar, but the rude girl serving decided we weren't having any, which didn't help the overall flavour. I can't think of anything positive and will certainly not be recommending to any of my guests

Very disappointed with food today. Chips were overcooked as if they had been reheated, probably more than once, pie was so hard it must have been kept warm in heater for a long time and even the home made rissole whilst full of corned beef was greasy. A real shame as it has been a family favourite in the past but this is the third time we have tried them in the past few months and been disappointed. In their favour the freshly cooked fish was good and edible.

The Atlantis was recommended to me by the people who work in the Co Op around the corner so I thought I’d try their fish and chips. They certainly weren’t wrong… they were delicious. … large portions and freshly cooked. The Atlantis was quite busy which is always a good sign. 10/10 and I’ll definitely be back one day!

Here on holiday. Antantis chip shop recommended. Oh dear what a disapointment. Chips tasted funny soggy and burned not golden brown as illustrated. Fish OK. Peas tasteless.

Our first visit to the Atlantis chip shop in Burry Port. A bit of a disappointment, I read the reviews on the Facebook page and thought we’d give this chippy a try. The chips were awful, old potatoes full of eyes, dark and greasy. The cod itself was okay, but the batter was greasy and looked like it had been cooked in dirty oil. The chip portions were generous, but far too large for one person. Personally, I would prefer quality over quantity.

When we were in lockdown they had a fantastic delivery service but now it seems they can only be bothered when it suits them wanted 15 fish and chips but never mind chippy in llanelli deliver

Awful chips.. half a order missing when I got home.. chips and curry sauce cold.. Never again . Very disappointing

Perhaps the best fish and chips I've had in at least 15 years. Freshly cooked fish, chips all cooked in small batches and again freshly cooked. Cracking value too.

Fab service and the best fish and chips in the area. Can’t fault it at all. Also reasonably priced. Management needs to improve (having a go at staff in front of customers over something petty!! Very unprofessional!!) Other than that I would highly recommend.
