I went in with my assistance animal and was confronted with pure rudeness that is the worst thing that could happen with my condition - the staff should be ashamed of themselves. They also blatantly lied about the laws around assistance dogs which is illegal .I tried multiple times to show them proof of my dogs status before they would even humour me, they begrudgingly accepted serving us and we were treated to rude glares throughout our time there. They also have a ten quid minimum charge on card but don't do tabs apparently and rudely shoved a bill down my elderly uncles throat shortly before he was getting up to settle the bill. The atmosphere was also quite dead and bland if that's a consideration but it's more for the other reasons I would and will avoid here.

Went to this pub after being turned away from a bunch of restaurants due to not having reservations. We were starving and the menu looked okay. Had the steak and ale pie and it was... kind of gross. Covered it in brown sauce and managed to eat it but it was the kind of meal that makes you worry about food poisoning. Worst food I've had in Glasgow. Service was slow and inattentive. Seemed like a lot of other patrons were picking at their plates also. Might be an OK place for a quick drink but I would not eat food here.

The Atholl arms is a place I've visited for years for a pint and a bite to eat and I've never had a problem until today the service and the beer were absolutely fine , however I ordered the Steak Pie and it tasted off infact it was rank definitely lying to long. I got the chef out to speak to him he was adamant it was cooked yesterday but my taste buds beg to differ. I didn't eat it and had the price of taken off my bill end of. Sadly that's the last time I'll be eating in The Atholl , beer only from now on.

My favourite pub in Glasgow! Enjoy coming here for a drink before a cinema visit, or (on the occasions that I'm feeling like cosplaying as A Posh) the theatre. Staff are friendly and quick to serve, and I can highly recommend the Sauvignon Blanc and homemade soup. Mayhaps not together, although you do you. There are poorer meal deal choices. Do I regret finding this glorious pub? Not At-Holl!

It may be in a convenient location, but that doesn't mean they have to use convenience foods. I had the chilli calzone, which tasted like it was a tin of cheap chilli from the supermarket. My wife asked for vegetables with her gammon steak, but was told that they "couldn't change the menu items" and there was no option for a side order of vegetables on the menu. Notices everywhere starting that 'cash is the preferred payment method', although they do accept card payment. Waiting staff were standing in the doorway smoking whilst people were coming in and going out. Not sure what wine we get served, but it certainly didn't taste like the Chardonnay we had ordered. Good point - if you're going to The Pavilion, it's convenient for a meal before the show. Just stay away from the chilli calzone and the questionable Chardonnay and the smoke screen at the door.

Never tasted food like it, my daughter lifted up her pizza and there was so much mozzarella cheese on top it actually slide off and landed in a heap on her plate, my husband’s macaroni cheese was absolutely disgusting, and the scampi that I had was far to crispy. The waiter told the chef and we were told there was nothing he would or could do unless there was something in the food, I take that to be such as a hair etc. absolute waste of money, will never be back.

An old-fashioned quiet pub, decorated with photos of well-known Scottish Variety theatre artists, dating from Harry Lauder up to the present day. It's a couple of minutes walk from Buchanan street bus station so I went for a quick drink while waiting for my hourly express bus service. I quite liked the old-fashioned atmosphere. See the 2 attached photos of the interior. I didn't eat but the menu seemed reasonably priced, I can't comment about quality. Two pints cost a tenner. It's about 5 minutes walk to Queen street train station at George square, and around 10 minutes walk to Central station 600 metres away. Note that it's cash-only sales, otherwise I'd have rated 3 stars.

Still trying to work out why a Glasgow pub would think Hash Browns & cheap (plastic like) Link Sausages would qualify as a ‘Traditional’ breakfast in Scotland. At £9 it also came with 2 rashers of bacon, an eggcup of beans, a pullet sized egg & one slice of toast. IMO overpriced for what it was, & was not. Perhaps if they had even served an acceptable sausage rather than the cheapest meat paste they could source🤔

Horrible, don't! I was the only patron in the pub which should have been a red flag. The cook, man and woman behind the bar stood around checking their phones. I asked the woman if she was okay twice because she had a blank look as if in a trance. When my order was delivered I was told I could get salt and pepper from one of the tables. I was seated at the bar. Never experienced such odd behavior in my life and would never return.

The fish and chips were fine but the macorni cheese was a fn discrace. That made me totally pissed off. Store bought and covered up with a lot of mozzeralla cheese to hide what was hidden underneath. Dosent take long to knock up a beshamel sauce and add a wod of cheese... The building it's self is lovely though, pity the chef is lazy. Please don't comment that it wasn't store bought because the crime is even worse. Lol might pop in for a pint but I will be giving the food a body serve.

Honestly, I have nothing bad to say about this pub at all. Let's begin with the service: Jordan especially, absolutely amazing. Made me and my mates feel at home. Top top fella and the rest of the bar staff are lovely as well. The chef has been there for decades and his food is amazing. Drink selection is of high calibre and reasonably priced for a city center pub. So easy to get from this pub back to the bus station for a way home - so it's easily accessible. The atmosphere is how you make it, they have a jukebox and you can search for literally any artist you like. £1 gets your 3 songs. The toilets are clean and of very decent standard and to be honest the whole place is upbeat and modern. A brilliant pub. A hidden gem. A place that me and my mates call our local despite us living miles away. Anytime we are in Glasgow for a drink, this is our go to. I don't drink anymore as I am teetotal and the non-alcoholic selection is just as good as the alcoholic selections. Highly recommend anyone to go and give it a try for themselves. If I could give this place 100 stars, I would for the service alone. Jordan is a lovely lad especially. Not just a bartender, a dear friend also.

A great traditional boozer with excellent, hard-working staff who are friendly and accommodating who are always "on the go". I always have good banter with the bar staff and James, the cook. There are also loads of regulars that it is easy to have a good conversation with, which you don't find everywhere. I tried the haggis, neeps and tatties which was excellent. This is a pub that is well run with staff who do a great job and you will never find any trouble or unpleasantness in, which again, you can't say about everywhere in town. I always pop in when I'm in town for a few beers and will try some other menu items in future given how much I enjoyed the haggis, neeps and tatties. It is very near to Buchanan Street Bus Station, The Pavilion Theatre and The Royal Concert Hall so is very handy if you are going through the station or attending an event at the Pavilion or Concert Hall for drinks or a bite to eat and I thoroughly recommend a visit.

I don't really know how to describe lunch. Looking for a quick meal before travelling from the nearby coach station, we popped in here. Specials included a fish tea at 10.95. We ordered 2. Food arrived. Huge plate made the offering served took totally ridiculous. Quite the thinnest fillet of haddock had been cut down the middle lengthwise, giving us half each! It must had been triple coated in breadcrumbs to make it look half decent. Imagine the thickness of a fish finger and quarter it! On the plus side, the chips, tiny portion of peas, bread and butter were OK. To rub salt into the wound this establishment begs payment in cash to save a few pennies. Don't encourage their miserly methods. Avoid.

We called in for a few drinks on what was probably the coldest night of the year. Unfortunately the warm welcome we received from the staff was not matched by the temperature in the pub. Although it wasn't cold enough to cloud our breath, it was necessary to put our coats back on. We weren't the only ones who noticed, there were 4 US tourists sitting opposite us, and we overheard them saying that it was as cold inside as it was outside. Not quite true, but it was still an indication that the atmosphere in the pub wasn't acceptable. The gentleman sitting beside us reading his book looked over as we were leaving, and with a little smile told us he was just about to put his gloves on! We didn't mention our discomfort to the staff, we just left, after all, what could they have done? The Drum and Monkey pub was much more toasty, and we enjoyed the rest of our evening there. I suppose we'll just have to limit our visits to the Atholl to summer nights from now on. What a shame.

A fine pub with very nice beer. Mostly, though, it is a restaurant with only a small amount of space for those who just want beer. Also, it is a long time since I came across a £10 minimum spend on card. It made me wonder whether people in Scotland still use cash. Maybe it's just a way of putting off casual drinkers. You can't even run a tab. Back to the review; good beer, nice atmosphere and really pleasant staff.

Not sure if the negative reviews. Girls and lad here were so lovely & friendly. Ordered a quarter chook & it was on steroids! 😂 Chose not to have a beer as needed a semi detox before the crazy old firm game (and keep my wits about me as some crazies around) & the coke was great (I mean you can’t mess it up) Chook was so tender. Some of the chips could have been more cooked (only 5-6 tbh) All in all great visit and will be back 👌🏽 - when I’m back in Glasgow that is. Well done team! Great! 😊

I must add firstly that the taste of the food is really good and have no complaints as to the quality of products. Where I have a massive issue is with the portion size, genuinely lucky if we have recieved a standard portion of chicken donner or cheese never mind a LARGE. It's disappointing as we have shopped here for years and it's noticeable the size difference in the food. Photo attached of chips cheese chicken Donner & chips chicken donner for reference. Again I must add the taste is good and no issues with that it's totally down to the smaller portions. When compared to near by take outs these portions are tiny Chips cheese and donner meat is nearly £9!!!!
