While visiting town, I stopped at the Apex for coffee. It is very lively and you get to sit and watch all the outside activity. The service and the cider was good I wished they had a better selection of pastries

Have visited this coffee shop on several occasions when visiting Bury St Edmunds. The coffee is always good and they do Gluten free cake! But on this occasion we were rather disappointed and cross. We had a loyalty card which was up to the limit so the next coffee we had should have been free!!! When my husband presented the card, he was told they had changed ownership and the old cards were no longer valid. Surely it would be good customer service to have honoured the old card and let us have a free coffee. They could have moved the stamps on to the new card, but instead threw it away and gave him a new one, with only two of the 'dots' filled in. Had I have been the one getting the coffee I would have not paid and gone to Costa next door.

This is a favourite stop for friends and I to get together over a good cuppa and fab gluten free cake. Staff are very knowledgeable regarding allergens and appear to have been trained well o in regards to it. On several occasions they have come to my table after I’ve placed my order to double check they have it correct or offer an alternative to be absolutely sure. Great service ladies, keep up the good work and thank you for taking good care of your customers

Stopped for coffee and cake service was so slow. You order at counter and they bring to table all the tables had dirty items on. When drinks were being brought out servers did not clear tables. Drinks were being served in paper cups and cakes on paper plates as they had no clean crockery due to it all sitting dirty on tables. Service was not as expected very disappointing.

Very polite, cheerful and helpful staff, excellent coffee delivered under awkward times i.e. lockdowns and am not sure why people have to call the staff rude as they never are

This little place is nice and right in the centre of the new shopping area in Bury, called the Arc. Hot chocolates and cappuccinos have always been nice here. I would especially recommend the sausage rolls here! Grab one while they are still warm and they are to die for!

Called in today and sat outside with our dog while waiting for my partner. I have very limited mobility...on two sticks and with a knee brace so struggle to walk far. I thought they did orders at the table and could not go inside and mange both sticks and the dog. When my partner joined us, I went to go inside to use the toilet. The very officious woman on the door would not let me as they were for customers only and because I was not ordering something at that moment I was not a customer. I might have been more understanding if she had not seen me struggling to walk and there was no way I was ordering anything after that. Best way to lose customers...we have been there often but never again. Getting around is hard enough without having to deal with that as well.

Very pleasant staff - we only called in for coffee so can’t comment on food - drinks served quickly with minimum fuss. Alternative mills readily available.

A great cafe and great venue we stumbled across as we wandered around Bury. Seems like a great centre too and we know some of our local family have used the centre for shows etc. Cafe very nice in foyer of arts centre and good coffee too. Most pleasant 😊👍

I always visit The Apex cafe when I'm in Bury. Usually as I come out of the car park as it's very handy. Great coffee too.

A good place to meet friends for a coffee in the centre of the town. Easy to find and also good place to wait with a coffee while friend or partner is shopping.

The service was really bad here. When we arrived there were several unoccupied tables outside that hadn’t been cleared from the previous customers. We decided to do it ourselves. We then ordered our drinks at the counter and went outside. It took a really long time for the drinks to arrive and the waitress practically slammed them onto the table spilling the coffee out onto the saucer. She was really miserable as well. There was a missing drink so we had to go back inside to chase that up. Eventually the final drink came out and we were told that it was our fault for ordering a difficult order (a small group each with a different drink). Additionally the coffee tasted like the beans had been over roasted. Bad coffee, grumpy service, didn’t bring out the entire order. Maybe it wasn’t all the fault of the individuals working. There were only 2 staff on so maybe the management should be blamed for understaffing the cafe.

Went in the other day for a quick coffee and cake before work. A very relaxing atmosphere were you have the option of sitting inside or out (I chose outside just because it was a beautiful day). Definitely value for money with coffee unlike most coffee shops in town the drink was actually hot, thank goodness!! The quality of the coffee was good too! The staff were very efficient but could tell that they were underpressure as there was only two of them (I think an extra person would have relieved that pressure).

Bury St Edmunds has a fair few coffee shops and this one matches next doors Costa for its coffee, but the snacks are limited. The combination of ticket office, tourist information and coffee corner works well in the spot. The apex always has interesting art exhibitions and the Square has become a lively outdoor space. Well done to Sodexo for creating a nice coffee brand and securing this location for its Aspretto coffee corner

Thought we were going to have lunch in an old interesting pub. Wrong. It was all closed up & couldn't see a notice to tell us otherwise. Shame.
