MY husband and I went on Saturday night for the 1st time. The food was sensational, we both had lamb chops and the lads working there were fabulous and on the ball. Definitely going again..

Went for a date night to celebrate getting our new house. Was welcomed immediately at the door very nicely. Service all night was absolutely amazing lovely lads that run the place. The atmosphere was lovely, and the food was second to none. Highly recommend this place.

First time at Askims Turkish Restaurant, and it won't be the last. Very full restaurant, but we were seated really quickly. Roman our waiter was really lovely, and nothing was too much trouble for him, or any of the staff, they were all friendly and helpful. Lots of choices on the menu, and the food was amazing and so delicious. I would definitely recommend a visit to Askims if you are in Scarborough. Thankyou to everyone tonight.

Fantastic meal out, lived up to the expectations. Been to many Turkish restaurants over the years and this is right up there. The lamb chops were something else. See you again soon.

Absolutely outstanding service, food and experience. Booked a table for 3, was greeted at door by polite and welcoming member of staff, shown to our table, given time to get comfortable before drinks menu and main menu given. Complimentary flat bread with sauces given while we chose our starters and mains. Staff extremely knowledgeable on all dishes and ingredients and only too happy to help explaining each dish. We chose Halloumi, Baba Ganoush and Feta Cheese filo rolls with a lovely sticky sweet sauce. Mains comprised of Chicken and Lamb shish, couscous, rice's and a speciality dish of Chicken Sarma beyti that was so full of flavour. Drinks of Ginger beer, Cola and the virgin strawberry mojito. Portion sizes and presentation excellent, service excellent and price under £120 for 3 starters, 3 mains, accompliments and 2 rounds of drinks. Would suggest booking online as restaurant extremely popular with all ages. Highly recommended and will certainly be returning ASAP. 10/10

The food is amazing and the service was excellent.

Please note, the food is great and the people are lovely and personable, making us feel really comfortable. Also, it's spacious, nicely decorated and clean. No problems there. It's just the way we were served that rather spoiled the occasion. We were left a good twenty minutes before even having a drinks order taken, despite gaining the attention of two staff members. Then, everything came almost at once! The drinks arrived, then the starters almost with them (calamari and octopus). But the main courses were served while we were still eating our starters! Placed onto the edge of the table, meaning they were sat going colder while we finished our starters, and then having zero break or palette cleanser before we slid our plates across to eat the mains while they were still warmish. It felt incredibly rushed. The taste and quality of the food and cooking was really good, but being left alone for twenty minutes then given everything all at once meant our supposed nice dining experience was over in forty-five minutes, with no goodbye or thank you for visiting. It just really spoiled it for us unfortunately.

My family and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Askims, and we had an amazing time. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed family evening out. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, making us all feel welcomed from the moment we walked through the door. The menu offered a great variety of dishes, all at reasonable prices. The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the charcoal-grilled meats (I ordered the Askims Special). I would highly recommend anyone dining here. We also loved the Turkish red wines we ordered. Overall, Askims provided a great dining experience for our family. With its combination of delicious food, excellent service, and fair pricing, it’s a place we highly recommend to anyone looking for a great meal. We’ll definitely return next time we’re in Scarborough!

Askims is absolutely lovely the staff are so friendly and lovely with the kids. The decor of the restraunt is lovely and warm and very clean. The quality of the food was amazing tasty and full of flavour. Only thing I could say is portions could be abit bigger. Overall highly recommend to anyone in and out of scarborough.

So glad we booked here. Just back after having a wonderful meal. Everything from the bread and dips, starters of meatballs and Turkish pizza and mixed kebabs was incredible. The mixed kebabs were the best we had ever had - just melt in your mouth. Service was top notch. Everytime you looked around the guys were grafting and tending to everyone’s needs. What a great place and one we will now come to every time we visit Scarborough.

Askim's was by far the best Turkish/Mediterranean food we have ever had. I'm writing this four hours after visiting, and I still feel full! We sat outside because of our dogs, but inside looked very cosy, too. This place is a must if visiting Scarborough. ✅️

I’m a GLUTEN ALLEGIC person. Great experience. I’ve been treated with extreme care and consideration from the very beginning. It is IMPORTANT to tell the staff that you are allergic and they will offer you multiple choices for you to be safe. THE FOOD was extraordinarily well cooked and presented in very generous portions. You won’t need two dishes to feel full and satisfied. THE PRICE might seem higher than in other Turkish restaurants, BUT this is not like other Turkish restaurants. This is a very good choice for the price. THE ATTENTION was at the same level as food. We are Spanish, they realised very soon and they were lovely and professional at the same time. I WRITE THIS EXTENSIVE REVIEW FOR A REASON. I made a mistake with my order, I had to cancel it (so they lost the meat already cooked) and they were still very kind to us a prepared a new different delicious dish. So I feel it would be nice to let the people know how good the attention was. Great choice.

We had a great meal here whilst visiting Scarborough for a short weekend family break. The food was delicious and promptly prepared, whilst the service was excellent and very attentive. The menu was varied and catered for anyone looking for a Mediterranean meal. Would highly recommend and will definitely visit again should we find ourselves back in Scarborough.

Excellent food, great atmosphere and superb service. Good for couples, families and work dos. We went twice whilst on holiday, once as a couple and again with two teenage girls. They loved it as much as we did!

Cant speak highly enough about this restaurant. Always busy on a weekend but we were made to feel so welcome big table of 10. But the service and food was spot on as usual. Definitely we will be returning.

Popped in here with my pal after a long day on the bike. The weather was gorgeous so they let us sit outside with our bikes and cleared a table for us. Drinks and food came quickly and the food was suuuuuuuuuper yummy. Really nice team, welcoming and good with recommendations but without being pushy. I ride out Scarborough way a lot and this is the second time I’ve been to this restaurant and I can tell you, it will be my go-to place for food in the area on bike trips. Thanks to the team for accommodating our bikes and looking after us so well!

I went to Askims recently for my birthday meal. Could not think of a better place to go. Food is delicious and everyone loved it. Service is professional and welcoming. We were served by Sal who was able to get the whole table laughing. The Askim's team are all lovely and went that extra mile to make the night special.

We read the reviews and decided to eat there but the waiter was rude, he got angry since we asked him is this restaurant really halal? Then when we sat down, he did not speak to us kindly. He got angry when we could not decide what we wanted to eat, and he did not speak respectfully at all. Perhaps if we were not Muslims, the conversation would have been different.

The staff are very rude . I don't recommend this dirty place.

Our second visit to Askims in Scarborough this weekend just gone. It was outstanding. The customer service is amazing, restaurant is stunning, toilets are clean, staff can not do enough to help you and they have created a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The food is so amazing! It is all super fresh, meat is tender, herbs and spices just right and the drinks are a reasonable price. We highly recommend a visit if you are in Scarborough. We will be there again very soon.

Great Tasting Turkish food, very good value, loads of different options , you have to try the Chicken Sarma Beyti its unreal, Sal the main man cant do enough for you, always tries to make you feel more than a customer.

Was treated to a meal here for my 40th birthday and absolutely loved it. Generally I usually only write reviews when I've had a bad experience, but I enjoyed askims that much I wanted to give them a review. The place was packed, but they had plenty of staff so we weren't left waiting or felt forgotten about. The food was amazing! Like properly amazing. I got the lamb houmous starter and it was out of this world. Would definitely come again

My 60th just me & the other 1/2 unfortunately it’s only my 2nd favourite Turkish restaurant the reason for this is I ordered a Efes & it turned up in a Tuborg glass. I’ve eaten at a many Turkish restaurants the food was absolutely stunning, the staff were amazing & could not do enough for you & don’t forget the chefs OMG. It might be a while but will definitely come back.

Here on holiday and advised that this is a 'must experience' venue ... Didn't have a clue what to order for a takeaway meal - the manager put together a menu selection for us, and our budget... Spot on.. food was amazing.... Can see why this is number 1 on TripAdvisor

Went with friends,not long after they had opened.ordered my meal ,when meal came had mushrooms in ,I asked if this was the wrong meal has the menu didn't state mushrooms ,was told yes its my meal the chief sometimes goes freestyle,not on my food I'm allergic to mushrooms.so haven't been back since that is till tonight my husband persuaded me to give it another go,sat down ordered two mix grills ,waited and waited enquired where's our meals there'd lost the order ,we walked out.will not ever be going back. 🔙

Went tonight, not booked so thought I'd try again. I've been 4 times now. 2 good and 1 the wife didn't enjoy, so I talked her into giving them another go. Ordered food, didn't want drinks or starters,35 minutes later I've asked where our food is, (4 tables that came in after us had had their starter and were getting served their meals.) Apparently the staff that continually walkedpast us for 35 minutes hadn't realised the ticket had fallen on the floor, and no food had been served to us. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be able to talk her into trying again after 2 poor performances

Spent two evenings here while in Scarborough. Very tasty and large selection of starters. First of all there are flat cakes with two spreads, these are highly recommended....in general the whole place, very nice and fast staff...even on a busy Saturday evening.

My daughter and I had a meal on Monday night. It was amazing. I had lamb shank and my daughter had lamb sarma bayti. Incredible, the best food we have ever had in ña turkish restaurant. Staff were incredible and couldn't do enough for us, as I have a walking aid they did everything to accommodate us. We were visiting Scarborough from Newcastle and would go there every time if it wasn't a two hour journey!!! Can't say enough how incredible food and staff were. Thankyou Salxxx

Went here to see just what they would offer that was gluten free and was surprised to find plenty on the menu only drawback was no gluten free bread for fantastic starter dips. However, atmosphere, service and the friendliness of attentive staff was excellent. Lovely cocktails that looked great even before you tasted them. All dishes were generous in portion size, so beware if you have a small appetite. Will definitely be back to try the Sea Bass, since my husband said the calamari was so fresh and tasty. Great Turkish restaurant, well worth a visit.

The restaurant was rammed after the England game yet the staff were consistently calm, friendly and efficient. The food was full of flavour and colour and beautifully presented. A real buzz to the place - we had a great night. Thank you - the Janes will be back.

It was our first time here and I booked online. Staff were lovely, helped wrap my umbrella as it was raining and were attentive. It got busy so I definitely recommend booking. The cocktails were delicious and I feel they should have a bar separate to the restaurant as id of liked to stay and enjoy more cocktails after the meal. I had garlic mushrooms which were really tasty. I opted for the chicken and yogurt shish and this was a big portion and I had to take the rest home with me as couldn't eat it all. I recommend this place for the food service and atmosphere and would go again.

We took our eldest daughter along for dinner here last night. Restaurant managed to squeeze us in at 7pm,by the time we vacated our table an hour later,they were queuing onto the street. Fantastic service, food and atmosphere in a packed restaurant. We previously lived on our boat in Turkey for 7 years,and this restaurant in Scarborough is one of the finest Turkish kitchens we have ever had food from.

We visited Scarborough from Nottingham and decided to give this restaurant a try. We were not disappointed. The service and food were all fantastic. We would definitely use this restaurant again when we are in Scarborough.

The best restaurant in Scarborough

Eaten here 3 or 4 times now. The food is lovely and the staff are very friendly. It's become a favourite place to go whenever I visit Scarborough.

Two years ago whilst attending Armed Forces Day I called into Askim's for a spot of lunch, thoroughly enjoyed. This year for AFD I attended with my daughter and her partner, it was decided even before we arrived that we would eat at Askim's at some point, we were not disappointed. Prawn and meatball starters, lamb and chicken guvec, followed by cheesecake and baklava. The staff were accommodating and friendly, the wood was everything we had hoped for and the price was reasonable. Any future visits to Scarborough will be paired with another visit to Askim's.

Had a lovely meal here. Staff are lovely and provide attentive service. Lots of tasty food options . I asked for doggie bag at the end and they provide the box for you to fill as you like which I thought was a really good idea. Would recommend although you probably need to book if you want to go Fri/Sat as they were v busy.

Visiting Scarborough for a couple of days and we are glad we found this place. The service was fantastic, and the food was some of the best I've ever had. The turkish pizza (lahmacun) was exquisite, although the star of the show for me was the outstanding sea bass

On Friday me and my family enjoyed a lovely meal. Staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble.. especially Sal! Thank you for your lovely hospitality to us all. He could not do more for us. Food was amazing, I had lamb dish off the chef special menu and it was delicious - everything had so much flavour. We also had our daughter’s 5th birthday on Sunday and told them and they brought her a cake and all sung to her at short notice. Atmosphere was great and you could see staff really going above and beyond to all the customers eating in. Thank you so much. Will definitely be returning.
