ASK Italian in Bromley

Very good. Went and used Tastecard which offers 2 for the price of 1 for mains at Ask Italian Beckenham during the middle of the week. The Pollo Milanese was really tasty. The service was good and attentive. The ambience was nice. The venue is spacious and modern.

We came to this restaurant today for the 1st time as we wanted arrancini for takeaway, and we left with a nice prawn pizza also. The food was very tasty, and the service was impeccable. We were served by Airina (as per receipt), and she was very friendly and attentive. Definitely coming back, maybe next time dining in as the restaurant is very beautifully decorated and the atmosphere and music is very nice.

The service ruined the whole experience, very discriminating! We booked a table for 2 to celebrate my husband’s birthday today. The female manager was very chatty to all the other customers around but not us . I’m not sure why , except the only possible reason is we’re the only Asian customers at that moment ? The gentlemen sitting next table was also celebrating his birthday, however was treated a lot nicer than us in the way how she interacted with. After serving the starter, she checked if everything is okay (I understand this is a very standard process), we were not complaining but honestly said the king prawn is quite salty and not as expected as last time we had it. Her response was “oh that comes with standard recipes I’m afraid” then walked away. It’s so awful !!! If any comments about the food is meaningless, why did you you ask about it ?! At last at check out, we just wondered if there is any birthday offer we might probably missed. She strictly said “ No” . We will not come back to be served by this lady.

Good food, great service, and atmosphere.

Hadn't been in a long time as didn't really enjoy the experience before, but was nicely surprised at how everything was so much better, the quality of food was great, the atmosphere and service was super friendly, they really did look after us. The martini espresso cocktail was worth every calorie!!! 😋 we will def be coming back again! Thanks

Nice food and waiting staff. It was a bit chilly in there, but probably my only complaint. The restaurant and restrooms were both clean, and the decor was fresh and in good order. It was a bit quiet, but it was Sunday afternoon, so maybe just not pizza time for most! I would definitely go again, as the staff were friendly and attentive.

Very tasty food, we thoroughly enjoyed our coffee with a mini dessert and liqueur, great way to end the meal. Service was wonderful and attentive. It's always nice to be able to share a joke with staff members. The restaurant was clean including the toilets. All in all a wonderful evening and will be recommending to friends and family. Thank you!

Had a takeaway . Bare in mind i live half a mile or less away from this place both main dishes were cold. Lasagne was horrible had about a spoonful of meat and was presented in a cardboard box and looked awful. And found out later that night it also gave me an upset stomach so food hygiene must not be a priority Pizza was cold and toppings were barely melted Bread tasted like old stale bread reheated Big fat no from me on a return to this place. Was not impressed

Food is average tbh, lack of any excitement in flavours. Overall experience is decent and somewhat friendly, casual with many "check ins" from stuff with I don't appreciate. It is kind of a safe bet for pasta and pizza, although the menu seems to be a bit random more recently. I get the vibe that many ingredients come pre-prepared from outside.. Pizza was made in a sloppy way and all the ingredients were in the centre! Pasta was good. Portions are small for the prices. A big drawback is the coffee, which was poorly made and extremely bitter. Ruined the meal and didn't even want to mention anything as I had to shoot out.

Was able to use my tastecard here so food was very reasonable, however, a tad expensive at full price. Drinks were expensive so just ordered water. Needs a better vegetarian menu, as this was limited. Service was as expected. And altogether a nice place to dine. It was raining so didn't sit outside, wish their outdoor seating, however, was at the side rather than looking onto the street. Altogether a pleasant experience which would do again.

I’ve ordered pizza with burrata but they’ve replaced cheese with something that looks like a mozzarella. Also basil looks and tastes more like parsley. Ridiculous.

Returned to this restaurant for dinner 5 years after moving away from Beckenham, it was as good as before. Nice to see the same staff still working there. Menu has good selections and reasonably priced.

As an everyday place to eat the food and price point are reasonable. Service despite being reasonably busy was good. Food was tasty including the desserts. Will definitely be back. Thank you for hosting our group.

today we had the opportunity to have lunch at Ask Italian it was one of the best food we ate in the region. I would like to thank the chef Paulo Roberto for the delicious food for the friendliness and good service, my family and I will definitely be back again.

I had pasta with prawns and cray .it was OK but it was luke warm and the pasta was a bit hard .but I will go again

We really enjoyed the quality of the food and the portions. There is always something new in the menu to try.

I went here with my son for a quick dinner. My son loved his pasta and the appetiser on the table. I ate prawn linguine and it was full of flavour with slight heat. The additional garnish on top was actually a great addition. We have returned since and will continue to come to this family favourite restaurant.

Best Ask Italian I've ever been to both in decor and food. It was miles better to another Italian chain down the road. Highly recommend and will be back.

Very nice night out on a cold evening. Quality of food and service was outstanding. Pleased that it was not noisy and there was no loud music or loud customers. Food was hot and served quickly.

Five of us came here for a family lunch on Thursday. Make a reservation as it can get busy. Service was very friendly and nice. Music was a little too loud for my taste and unfortunately our family was sat underneath the speaker. They did offer to move us but my 91 year old Mum didn’t care to move! Food was good although it could have been a bit hotter, and coffee was great!

Taste is a subjective matter. But honestly I’ve been to Ask Italian for many years and never was disappointed. The food is tasty and the service top notch! Staff is super friendly and warm at this branch cannot recommend enough.

Great local restaurant-always a warm welcome

Nice restaurant in easy walking distance from pay and display car park thats reasonably priced. Very clean and tidy restaurant beautiful atmosphere very welcoming with complimentary pink lemonade upon arrival. We were greeted by warm, friendly staff who were helpful throughout. We ordered the cheese and standard garlic bread that was cooked to perfection. For mains, I had the cheese truffle calzone, and my family ordered the beautiful pizza. Drinks came in brilliant frosted glasses. We all had excellent desserts. Brilliant well packed menu well worth a visit reasonably priced for 5 of us.

We go to ASK in Beckenham every year for our office Christmas lunch. We went yesterday 20 of us, everything was perfect as always. We were looked after so well and the food was absolutely top notch - could not be faulted and generous portions. Thank you so much everyone, we all had a fab time!

Food appalling. My brocoli was stone cold. Lasagne crispy little mince. Carbonella appalling. The standard of food was the worst I've experienced in a long time. My pollo milanese was grizzly in bits. This place needs a huge kick up the backside

Food was pretty good but my friend's ravioli was a small portion and my meal arrived quite a while before my friends' meals. I also had to ask for the parmesan cheese, which is unusual in an Italian restaurant.

If there is better ASK, please share with me because this is consistently the best of any ASK locations I have visited. Ambience and feel more like a small independent Italian and they take care with the food.

OMGoodness what an awful experience this afternoon. Service terrible..waited ages to be served at a very quiet time. Prosecco as flat as a pancake and Bruschetta was very strange! No garlic or olive oil - tomatoes on dry toast and tasted heavily of balsamic vinegar .. the worse bruschetta I’ve ever had! I actually had to pay for this experience!! Never again!!

Excelent food, the staff is very friendly. They give you a little shoot glass of homemade lemonade before your meal. A nice way to start. I will come again.

The food was really good, I had a pasta dish which I really enjoyed. The service was excellent and the waiter was really attentive and friendly. I'll definitely go back there again.

Expensive compare to pizza huts, although is the same and a bit smaller than pizza hut quantity. Staff not too helpful, pizza hut staff very helpful and goes an extra mile to help and make customers happy. I can compare because few days ago I bought from pizza hut and noticed a big difference in service, costs and overall experience. Hence only one star

Our service was lovely thanks to Tony, the food was tasty but not enough of it. The mushroom starter was very tasty The portions were too small. We were meant to attend friends of flavour and came here instead for the Italian food experience. As its 6 week holidays the kids should eat for free as its quite costly. When we came in it was a lovely atmosphere but as more people attended... The noise level from other children was uncontrollably loud and fairly disturbing, I attended with two children myself who were kept occupied.

Terrible customer service tall guy with tattoos who served was not in mood or he brought his italian customer service back to UK. I asked simple question do you do fried pizza / calzone and he replied something not relevant and said its italian restaurant bla bla bla. mate if you dont know do not try to act like superior and belittle other people you know nothing mate. Period. Very rude guy. And most of the stuff feels like doesnt want to work there. We ordered dessert for kids and i said which toppings to put as we can eat vegetarian options. He brought ice cream with mashmallows i said i havent asked you to put mashmallows he said sorry however he just took it out from icecream and added what i asked but stupid guy left few pieces what a unprofessional and he doesn't care. My advice to administration to change your stuff, as unprofessional and rude people are ruining everybodies experience. We are not returning this place ever. Food was good OK.

Small portions for the price, came out cold. Waitress seemed to be in a rush and when we needed to get assistance they were all at the bar talking.

A busy night because of a music gig nearby and I expect it caused extra pressure in the kitchen. Our starters arrived at very different times, but with an apology. My partners pasta was divine, as was the garlic bread and beetroot and goat cheese balls with chilli dip. Sadly my main was on a stone cold plate with cold broccoli and a little pot of cold sauce. The ‘roast’ baby potatoes were simply boiled new potatoes which had been flattened on a pan to blacken and burn them. Worst still they definitely tasted of fish, I expect that the same grill/implements were used for both. However the actual chicken Milinase was tender, crisp on the outside and very tasty. We had an issue with dessert. We followed the instructions and used the QR code to book the 2 desserts. To save time I paid the bill and added the tip. Unfortunately this closed our tables account and the kitchen had no record of the order. The app does not give you any chance to get a receipt and I was unable to easily prove we had paid. Except my Apple pay said that £102 had been deducted from my account. Eventually, while we were getting the issue sorted another waiter arrived with the missing desserts. I think the QR code idea is fabulous but it was a bit glitchy tonight.

My children have just come back from here and had a great meal tonight. They ate everything and really appreciated the happy face on the pizza! Excellent friendly service, big team working so well together.

Always been a fan of Ask Italian, but this was our first visit to the Beckenham branch. Food was as ever of excellent quality, and the wine selection was well matched to the menu choices. Portion sizes were sensible so three courses could be enjoyed without overdoing things. Staff seemed exceptionally efficient and our main server was very chatty and friendly. Will certainly go back.

Had a light dinner there, on one of the outside tables. The food is nice, relatively standard menu. Amazing house lemonade and mango gelato. The service was good, but got slow when the waiters changed shifts.

The food was just OK, nothing special. The bread for my bruschetta was quite hard/dry and needed lots of olive oil. My beef parpadelle was mediocre, lacked flavour, the meat was stringy and the pasta wasn't al dente. Regardless, it's a lovely venue, and our waitress was amazing too.

I had a very lovely time with friends, the food was delicious and the service/the team was just perfect! We were a large group, they set a special place for us to eat all together and we had our food well prepared and served very fast as well. Just what I needed for a memorable moment. Rude, didn't let us in at 9:45pm on Saturday when the closing time is 11pm. There were many available tables too.

There are a few Italian-inspired chain restaurants in Beckenham and I was so pleasantly impressed by my meal at Ask tonight. Service was friendly and professional. The menu choices - for drinks, mains and desserts - are great: with vegans, vegetarians, meat and fish-eaters all very well catered for. They offer a range of starters and sides, pastas, pizzas and “specialty mains”. I really enjoyed a truffle ravioli and a ‘Italian Twinkle’ (Prosecco, elderflower, vodka and a twist of lemon). Dessert was superb: the ‘Mini Moment’ allows you to choose three tiny desserts for a selection - I loved the brownie, tiramisu and Amarena cherries & mascarpone. Decor is stylish and the atmosphere was lively too. A genuinely lovely mega - will be back for sure.

Might be a chain, but this is one of the nicest Asks I've been to. The food is what you'd expect, tasty, decent portions, not spectacular but really very good. The service was absolutely great, we had such a friendly waitress. The salted caramel gelato dessert is really excellent. Nice decor inside too, hard to fault it! Will be back for sure.

Went mid-week, so was quieter. We ordered a smaller tums child's meal, but the choice was limited and unfortunately not well liked by our little one (16 months old). Was surprised by the size of the portion (bigger than expected) which did make it good value for £3.50 but was wasted on this occasion. Would recommend going for the normal child menu £7.50 for 3 courses as it had a better selection. Our meals were nice. The cheese fondue was yummy, pizzas were good but dessert was my favourite bit, would recommend the biscotti cheesecake!

Good food, attractive decor and good service.

Went for Mother’s Day lunch, was sat on a 4 seater for 5 people, asked to move and was then seated in an area that stank of toilets. Waited 20 minutes to be served and considering that it is a restaurant, having to smell that stench whilst trying to eat was seriously off putting. Food is average, nothing special. Staff seemed okay until when paying the bill with card and giving a tip on the card reader was told by the waitress ‘tips are shared but cash is just for myself’. Whilst leaving we over heard another waiter ask the waitress ‘did they give you anything’. Rude and unprofessional, need to sort out the smell and staffs attitude. Will not be returning.

Really not good service. Firstly we was sat on a table far too small with just an added sit at the end. When we asked to move we was moved to a corner which had an awful smell of damp and toilets. Food was good, however when the bill came, the waitress said tips on the card machine are shared out by cash comes to me. As we walked out a waiter asked her did they give you anything. This is extremely unprofessional and rude. We will not be returning

The food here was amazing.. but a single thing left on any player and I was in a group of 15. My main shown in the photo was a prawn and crawfish pasta £16.95. It was delicious and so filling. Great value for the quality. They didn't mind that we bought a birthday cake for a celebration and had this instead of desserts. Parking here was easy as it's opposite the George car park. Parking is free on a Sunday. We had 2 under 5s with us and they were very child friendly.

Service was extremely slow, although it was a busy Saturday night. I had calamari starter, which was mostly batter and very little calamari. My calzone was okay but nothing special. The chocolate brownie dessert, however, was AMAZING! I don't think I will be hurrying back anytime soon, though.

Food is below average, nothing special, the meals aren't sophisticated to the fine Italian dining! Everything over cooked, our chicken was almost burned, I have only accepted to eat there because my elderly relative likes the restaurant, but have no clue about good food! I would rather go to pier Luigi's.

Fantastic service and the food was outstanding

The Manzo Piccante was amazing. The beef was tender, and the red wine sauce was rich. The Sicilian lemon tart at the end was tasty and balanced.

Very family friendly place, good service, and they take Taste Cards. If you want to go somewhere to eat with your kid, you'd do worse than go here.

Ok Italian food. Nothing special, what you'd expect from a chain.

Saturday evening. Table booked at 6pm Our server was friendly, courteous and accomodating. Food tasted good and portion size could have been more generous but adequate - I guess thats a good ploy for you to order dessert. Presentation is a simple no thrills concept which works for some but I think there's simple and elegant and then there's just plain simple. This was more the latter. Overall ambiance was good, even for a Saturday night, the busy constant chitter and chatter with the odd happy birthday song thrown in for good measure, oh and there's the clanging cutlery or two as they clatter onto the floor. Didn't have a cause to complain. Food came in a timely manner and server ensured we were well taken care off. First time trying ASK and possibly worth trying again.

Great location, lovely decor. The folded mozzarella garlic bread was delicious, had asparagus carbonara which was yummy. Biscoff cheesecake for dessert was perfection!
