Definately one of the best roasts I've had to date. Had the roast beef which was nice and pink, enough gravy, crispy roast potatoes and good wine. Can't wait to go back again!

The second time we have been here. Lovely food and the waitress was very nice. However, when the (high) bill came, bought by another waiter, my husband (nicely) questioned how a discretionary tip can be discretionary if added to the bill. The waiter who bought it asked if he was not happy with the service. He said he was but a minor row ensued, with my husband (a very generous tipper) asking for it to be removed from the bill. He said he wanted to decide how much tip to leave, thank you. If service had been included, as in France, it would not have been a problem. The waiter arrogantly told him to 'tell it to the world', so we have. So, Aside, you have lost two local clients who eat out all the time and had been singing your praised (see my previous review). Shame.

Fuimos a un lado para el almuerzo / almuerzo con la familia. Los mejillones eran excelentes, así como los hongos silvestres y el huevo de pato. Un servicio amable y nunca se sintió apurado para salir. Altamente recomendado.

Fuimos aquí hace un par de horas para un domingo tarde almuerzo / cena temprana. ¡Eso fue increíble! Para empezar, tuve la remolacha, las nueces y la manzana, que era una porción de muy buen tamaño y encantador. Mi amigo tenía la calabaza y las castañas que amaba. Para beber teníamos el Aside Spritz que era realmente agradable y refrescante. Para nuestros platos principales, ambos tuvimos el cerdo asado que era absolutamente delicioso y todos los acompañamientos eran demasiado. El crujido fue divino y muy bien sazonado. No puedo recomendarlo lo suficiente. El único inconveniente era que estábamos demasiado llenos para tener postre. Me fijé en el pudín de dátiles y la crema coagulada, pero admitimos sensatamente la derrota. Mi amigo tenía un Macchiato y yo tomé un vaso del Puerto de Taylor, que era encantador y un final perfecto para una comida fabulosa. El servicio fue excelente; atento, amable, educado y servicial. La factura fue razonable y se calculó en 44 por persona, incluido el servicio. Otra gran adición a la escena gastronómica del sureste de Londres. Recomiendo encarecidamente una visita a un lado y no puedo esperar a volver.

For drinks I had an Aside Spritz which was perfectly balanced and then a watermelon shrub which was incredibly light and refreshing. For dinner we started with the jambon and melon. The melon was cantaloupe which was a new combo for me, usually it’s been honeydew when I’ve had it elsewhere. The cantaloupe was sweeter and the combination was great. I then had the Sunday roast beef with Yorkshire pudding and it was absolutely amazing. Dessert was summer berries with clotted cream. I can not recommend this enough. 5 full stars

we were two for dinner. We had the roasted peas with olive oil and a peach salad for entrées followed by the chicken. Everything was perfect. Fresh produced used and well presented dishes (see photos). A lot of effort has gone into the preparation of the menu which has been kept short to maintain quality and fluid service. The prices are reasonable and the service courteous and efficient. We enjoyed our dinner and we will certainly return, especially when they have their roast back on the menu

2 of us went for lunch....this is a fabulous little place....the interior is nicely styled in a sort of minimalist way....we had the crab and peach with beans to start....the crab was light and delicious....all white, no brown. The peach with the beans was an interesting mix and worked well....I will be making that at home! Main courses were cod and chicken....cod was nicely cooked with some colour. The chicken was a leg and was so so...chargrilled but a little plain.....overall we had a good lunch and will return soon. The owner was chatty and friendly and that adds something....it always amuses me when owners are less than friendly and somewhat aloof.... 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 desert, 1 coffee....no booze...£65 + service.

My partner and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and had the best time. The food and cocktails were spectacular and the atmosphere very relaxed. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, all in all we found it very hard to leave! It was definitely worth the trip from North London. Could not recommend more, we are looking forward to our next visit.

I’ve been working in hospitality for long time and I honestly can tell you that this experience was special. Special for the amazing food join with the amazing job of Rob and Ro that together made my day!! Everything was absolutely delicious and lovely and nice as only a dinner with your family could be. The roast is amazing. Beef was cooked perfectly and the crackling on the pork was super crispy. Nothing felt warmed up or stale, which is often the case with a roast out, and the flavours were on point. Could have done with a bigger plate and my horseradish on the side as it was a little hard to eat, but hardly a big complaint! Can't recommend it enough. My only real want was a slightly bigger beer selection. Can't wait to go back and check out the non-sunday menu.

What food! I really wasn’t prepared for how lovely this food would be. I’m a huge fan of Ottolenghi style food - beautiful flavours and fresh vege based dishes - Aside is just that! What a find. We enjoyed it so much (with our 2 yo) and can’t wait to go back to eat more!

A cosy little place, tucked away from the hubbub of Peckham and serving the best roast dinner you’ll find in town, as well as some great coffee. The roast beef in particular was delicious and served cooked to perfection. Attentive, friendly and helpful service too. We will be back.

Burnt cauliflower, dry and tasteless, the cheese sauce was not available which could have helped perhaps. Sorry never again!

We saw some reviews of Aside on Facebook and didn’t realise how close it was to where we live. What we have lacked near Queens Road Peckham was somewhere for a reasonable Sunday lunch. Well now we found it. Three of us all tried the roast beef and weren’t disappointed. A big slab of beef, great roasted potatoes, carrot and parsnip all topped with a big Yorkshire pudding. Only piece of feedback is the gravy. I’m from ‘up north’ and gravy is thick and plenty of it. Whilst this was good it was more like a “jus” than a gravy....just ask for more. For dessert we had crumble and it was delicious Overall, a definite recommendation for a Peckham Sunday Lunch

Great atmosphere & authentic cocktails...could do with more vegetarian options. Did not have vegetarian cheese and dessert options.

My wife and I have been to Aside twice now for Sunday roasts which in my opinion are the best in SE15 and SE22. The restaurant has a really clean and beautiful minimalism and you can tell from every fixture, fitting and piece of furniture...

Great little restaurant hidden gem went for Sunday lunch great choice had the lamb really tender . Small in side but staff are really friendly definitely worth the effort to find it
